Red Shift

Editing of this Trailer got interrupted by COVID-19 and the American Upheaval.  My attention and service were pulled away to more urgent matters.  Still haven't gotten around to trimming it down and polishing it up.  Good material in here, though; some of the best recording quality I had managed to achieve at that time.  Worth keeping.  Maybe someday the list of emergencies will dwindle and I can finally get back to finishing the editing.

How would life and faith be different if you orbited around God, instead of expecting Him to operate around you?  Would there be more movement in the orbit, or in the middle of everything?

This prophetic projection from 2012 seems to be speaking to times such as these, times where major transitions require perspectives and attitudes from us that are forward-thinking and forward-moving.  Rather than fretting over limp attempts to catch up with the past, why not perceive and position ourselves to be at the forefront of the future?  What does Scripture say will be the future of rulership over this nation, and the Earth at large?  How do you imagine we will transition from what is, to what could be?  Is America capable of doing so gracefully?

They say the bad apple spoils the bunch, but who exactly is the bad apple?  A pandemic-ravaged economy leaving millions in need makes this episode on daily pitfalls of food pantries and other charitable donation services even more starkly necessary.  A well-run program can save everything from dinner to community pie to America, but a poorly run program can actually hurt the entire county!  There's a plot behind rot, so whether you're a patron, a part-time volunteer, a pastor or a politician you need to listen in on how to identify and prevent common problems, ensuring success that satisfies on all fronts.  The stakes are high, but the solutions are simple.

If you're not getting the results you're expecting from prayer, perhaps you're making some simple mistakes in the execution, such as using prayer backwards.  Yup, I said it: Backwards.  If you don't know what prayer backwards means, you're quite likely one who's doing it!  Here's a few pro tips to help you troubleshoot that you won't hear anywhere else!

It is Passover/Resurrection Week and as we approach The Crossing I've assembled some of my favorite pieces to inspire you.  As I record this, the Coronavirus has struck over half a million people, resulting in truckloads of bodies going into mass graves in the public parks; deadly tornadoes have ripped through the south obliterating tens of thousands of people's only quarantine shelters; food assistance programs nationwide cry out they haven't enough food to give while farmers cry out they have to destroy their hard-earned crops for lack of transportation to the hungry nation-wide.  Businesses are bankrupting by the thousands every day and unemployment applications in the millions are crashing all the communication networks.  The National Guard has been dispatched in every possible way, and the biggest breakthrough at the hospitals, a month-and-a-half in, is a way to steam-clean the medics' masks and face shields.  People are losing loved ones without opportunities to say goodbye, losing their homes, losing sight of anything normal.  Most don't think there will be anything left to return to when it's all over.

And so, it truly is an Exodus from American Life as we know it, to some yet-unknown Resurrection.  Let's take a few minutes to remember why this is a blessed opportunity, not just a scary downfall.

The Holiday Season is often one of extremes, expected high or experienced lows.  In particular, our expectations and experiences can cause much frustration and grief; whether we're disappointed by not receiving what we'd hoped, or patience wears thin in delays, whether changing of the times is a relieved escape from the past or a dreaded countdown closer to a feared end, emotional war party might be the way to describe late December for many of us.  Thus, this episode of our series on a Good God vis-a-vis Bad Luck is releasing a little ahead of New Year's so we can shift our perspective into 20/20 celebration before the party gets here, rather than chance whether the event will give it to us or not.  Even if you didn't get what you wanted this season, you did.  Listen to find out!  Simultaneously change your relationship with your own moods, relationships with other people, relationship with God and with all good gifts of life when you change your relationship to Time!

This first Red Shift series has been about Why Does God Let Bad Things Happen; each episode is from the bigger, broader, and more detailed Mission Control Room perspective.  Is being the Ruler so simple and easy as maintaining a status quo?  Or is it hectic and strained bringing about change?  In Episode 8: Lonely At The Top, we spend a moment discussing just how challenging the post can be, even listening to His experience of it all, and comparing His portion of the responsibility and contribution with ours.

Whose opinion matters most when settling a dispute, and how is it most helpful?  What if you're the only one who believes the truth?  Try a different method when relationships are adversely affected by conflict resolution techniques; think Baseball, not Boxing!

When it comes to getting justice and giving forgiveness, maintaining the mindset of the multi-party system is crucial to success.  All parties and proportions should be proper.  Then, by all means, g'head--feel everything you wanna feel, feel it all...in the right direction!
