Asking the Lord to reveal what's in your sinful heart is one thing, but asking someone who loves you, and loves The Lord to pray that prayer alongside with you is another level of self reflection, and the realization that we are inherently not as great as we think we are.

That lovely Sunday School song.  It is the closest thing I had experienced to understanding joy.  My life has been rifled with trauma and really hard things, but coming to understand and trusting who God is has been so effective in understanding the concept of "consider it all joy" from James 1:2 - having joy doesn't necessarily mean happiness, and having joy in our closest relationships can be darn out challenging.

Cast all your anxieties unto Him. 

This instruction that comes directly from 1 Peter 5 is WAY easier said than done, right?!? Yes, except when we don't fight what The Holy Spirit is telling us, the practical nature of what the Bible instructs us in then becomes clear on how to reduce our own self sabotaging ways that can cause anxiety.
