Season 8 | Short Series | Colossians 1 :20
Colossians chapter 1 verse 20. And through him to reconcile, to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. Paul talks about Jesus till now. Telling that he is the invisible God He is The first born of all creation ,he is and he was there before, anything was created and it was created for him and through him and by him.
And Paul tells us, The ultimate reality of Jesus, that He stepped into our life. By coming to earth. To reconcile us to himself. All things to himself would be made under subjection of him. Things in heaven. Things on earth And for us, who believe, Paul-tells-us He made peace for us.
By his blood on the cross. That is our reality. This is what we press on the king of earth, the king of heaven, the one, and only one, who can save us has come-and done it. That is our joy.Season 8 | Short Series Colossians
Season 8 | Short Series | Colossians 1 :19
Colossians chapter 1 verse 19. For in him, all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell. I love this portion because it gives me great encouragement. We could read it as "this is because in Him, (Jesus), all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell" What was? *That he (Jesus) is before all things.
00:32
*He (Jesus) is head of the body, the Church. *That he (Jesus) is the one worthy to give life to dead. *He (Jesus) is the one who would reconcile the entire creation to himself. *He (Jesus) has made and is making peace for us through this cross. Why is this(statement) true
01:03
about this man- Jesus? Paul explains it here. He says all this is true: Not because Jesus was a semi-god or a demi god or part god. Not because Jesus was a sage who have attained Nirvana or something of that sort. No. This is not who Jesus is. Paul-says:
01:33
In Jesus the fullness not just anything not a part, not a portion. But all the fullness of God dwelt. And it was pleasing that the fullness of God the dwelt in Jesus. That is amazing. Because 1: Jesus was filled with Only God. He was God In flesh.
02:22
That is what that verse means. It is not made up, he says pretty straightforward. Everything about Jesus reflected the fullness of God. Second(2): God was pleased to dwell. That means it was God's pleasure that
02:49
He came in form of Jesus.
02:56
Three(3): He dwelled in Jesus. It keeps us hope that one day we-too would be able to experience that dwelling with God. And that is possible because Jesus has already done it. What do we take from here? It take these points: One(1): That there's a promise that we will dwell with God.
03:31
Two(2): We have the confidence in that promise because Jesus spoke about it and he cannot lie because he was filled to the brim with God. Three(3): God was pleased that Jesus was doing it. He was joyful that he was doing it for. This joy meant that it was God's pleasure to save you and me.
04:05
And four(4): There is this invitation that God opens up for all who love and believe in Him that they too would be able to see and experience God. Though, we are sinners, we would be able to experience God through Jesus. Because He was One, who had been both God and Man.
04:43
100% God. 100% man. And that makes us Joyful, every time we feel led to temptation. We could see: It pleased God to die for my sin. It, pleased God to come in form of Jesus and be my saviour. And that is a promise that I being a sinner have.
05:14
That He who began this good work in us of sacrifying us, of purifying us, of making us Holy unto Himself will complete it till the day I will no longer be tempted by sin- Will no longer be in-the-presence of sin- Will no longer think about sin. But rejoice that those-days have been long gone, long defeated and I am with Christ and Christ alone.
05:51
God bless you. Have a wonderful day.
Season 8 | Short Series Colossians 1:18
Colossians chapter 1:18 and He is head of the body the church, He is the beginning. The first born from dead that everything he might be preeminent. Guys, Do you know what that means? It means Jesus is in control of the church. Everything the church does everything, the body does, everything that you and I do should, and should only reflect the head.
00:26
Him, His glory, His honour, His praises. Do you know what that means? Every songs that we sing, every word that we do-say, every action that a church, or you and me as individuals do should reflect Jesus. He is the beginning, it's all about Jesus. There's nothing before Jesus, it's all about who he is.
00:48
Not a reflection of God. He's not someone who followed God, but he is God himself. He is the first born, meaning He is the only one worthy to give life to those who are dead. He's the first born over all who are being raised to life. You and me are being raised to life because He is worthy to give us His life.
01:09
And therefore, and through this He is preeminent. He is supreme. Let the supremacy of Jesus reign in your life and make you known that you are loved by the most supreme God and this day be a blessing to you.
Season 8 | Short Series | Colossians 1 :17
Season 8 | Short Series | Colossians 1 :16
Season 8 | Short Series | Colossians 1:15
00:37
He's image is exact likeness in the same form from eternity past to eternity future. He's a representation and the manifestation of God, Paul is trying to show who Jesus Christ is. Jesus is who God is. You can't see God, but you can see Jesus. And that is who he is.
01:02
Then he says, he's the first born of all creation and And you read this and you wonder. Wait, what is created? Then no, the word first born. Comes from the Jewish understanding that. He is the one who inherits The oldest child inherited at those times everything. The father had, and he think Jesus is the one who has authority of everything that is created, and this is who Jesus is, He is God, and, and he fall emphasises that in the next verse for him, all things were created and by him and for him, Isn't that amazing to meditate on and say yes, Jesus.
01:56
I believe that you are God. I believe that you and seeing you worshipping you is worshipping God. And you are. Worthy. You are preeminent of all phrase, honour and subject. Amen.

Hebrews 4: 16 | Boldly Approach The Throne | Stand Alone Sermons
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
This week we look us the reasons to be bold to approach the throne of God
Prayer
Studies Through 1st Peter | 1 Peter 3: 4-5 | Motherhood is a spiritual battle | Mother's day sermon
Studies Through 1st Peter | 1 Peter 2: 1-3 | Desire the word
So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.
Studies Through 1st Peter | 1 Peter 1: 3-8 | Translating Living Hope
We look for thrills and experiences. We find our testimonials convey supernatural help only in inhuman situations like God helped me during an accident etc. But that is a strange hope to have. To expect God to be present only in the highs or the lows... Mundane mornings are meant to be supernatural. They are on repeat. These are the periods in life habits are formed. These are the periods where faith is pressed the most, yet not felt. These are the places where hope is embedded though not expected.
Studies Through 1st Peter | 1 Peter 1: 3 | Living Hope
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (ESV)
(HOF)
- Born Again
- God is merciful
- Resurrection of Jesus
These are where the hope lies. We saw that God is merciful last week, today we saw what Born again means. We are going to see how the third point lies in now.
This is why the hope is said to be living.
- vs 5; we see it happen in our walk in faith
- vs 8: we love Jesus
- vs 6: we rejoice in it
- vs 6: we have sorrowful days and happy days
- vs 4: we are being kept
What did we see today?
God is merciful - He causes us to be born again - He gifts us faith - Jesus died for us - This is our hope. So when we go through trials. temptations, failures, hardships, long suffering, we must remember that this is still in God's hand. We have a great inheritance that no one can take away. We have the great reservation card at the table of heaven kept for us, with angels waiting for us. They are amazed at your salvation (These are things that even the angels desire to look into 1Peter 1:12). They are going to be like JP we had a party when you gave your life to Jesus - Gabriel will call another angel and say , look here is JP, remember that party , the other one will say how can i forget... Brothers this is our inheritance. This is our hope, this is our glory. Christ in us is our hope and Glory. We can then say we are greater than any King who has ever lived because they have not experienced this joy.
Brothers, are you hopeful? Is your faith bearing the change in your nature?
Studies Through 1st Peter | 1 Peter 1: 2 | The Greeting | Mercy and Grace Multiplied
… according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: May grace and peace be multiplied to you
- God loves you and knows you inside and out
- He loves you and calls you because he wants you
- He keeps you for himself. He wants to dwell with you. He is serious
- He keeps obeying Him and turning our hearts to Him because he pours his blood on us.
Studies Through 1st Peter | 1 Peter 1: 1 | Elect Exiles
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who are elect exiles of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia.
- What does it mean to be elected or chosen by God?
- Does chosen people have any speciality?
- Why does the world hate Christians?
- Are Christians oppressed?
- What is the cost of the calling?
Today we will look at the calling and the election. God choose you, from the world. Therefore the world hates you. It is absolutely clear.

Sermon 16 | Series 2 | James 1:19-25 | Hearers and Listeners of Word
Scripture: James 1:19-25
Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves

Sermon 15 | Disciples Make Disciples | Stand Alone | Acts 14:21
- A disciple shares the gospel
- A disciple knows that God will work his way
- A disciple knows that God will work his way
- A disciple waits
- A disciple relies on the power of the Holy Spirit
- A disciple gives God Glory & are humble
We start in love :
We are serious about loving
We are serious about sin
We are in this for real time -- that means spending time
We are called to trust in God
We are to rely on the Holy Spirit
We are to wait for His timing
We are only to share wisdom we know God is leading us into
We are humble
We realise that this is a two way street
We give and we make sure that we receive. (Remember the parable of the workers who came at different times)
We are ready to sacrifice
We are ready to hand over those to another persons when God leads us

Sermon 14 | Series 2 | James 1: 9-18 | Trial Temptation Tests and The Spirit
See notes on: https://toancientofdays.blogspot.com/2021/02/trial-temptation-tests-and-spirit.html
“Do you mortify; do you make it your daily work; be always at it whilst you live; cease not a day from this work; be killing sin or it will be killing you.”
― John Owen, The Mortification of Sin
Sermon 13 | Series 2 | James 1: 1-8 | Trials at the hand of a good father :
When we go through trials and difficult times we are often faced with the following questions
- Does God really love me?
- Does God do His will for me?
- Is God's will for my life perfect?
- Will I like God's will for my life?
- Will God take the evil others have done to me and really turn it for my good?
- Will God repay the evil for the harm them did?
Trials (as James said) are meant to bring change in the believer in the following manner
Humbleness: Only during trial does one realise the frailty of human wisdom and strength
Repentance: When one goes through trials, only then would he repent of his self-reliance and see God for who He is
Discipline: Only under trials one sees the Father as a father and not just a provider. The father disciplines only his children – we tend to put our life in order
Faith Building (Patience): Through trials a son, learns to wait for the Father, knowing and trusting in the wisdom and means of the Father – thus developing the faith in Father
Maturity: Once we been through trials, our faith is grown
Reward: We know that faithful servants are rewarded for their dependence.

Sermon 11 | Good Father | Luke 15
In Luke 15, Jesus talks about a good father. He tells this to the sinners and tax collectors who come to him as well as the Pharisees and scribes. Jesus tells about a good father who loves the sinner who leaves the father and the family and waste his life away as well as the son who is at home living a life living a life where he obeys the father without knowing who the father is. The father is God - the one who calls both the sinner and the self righteous alike, loving both of them. Genuine repentance involves two main things.
- Change of heart
- Coming to God
Jesus talks about the issue with human heart in both the cases. The younger one found the world and its pleasures lovely and the elder one feared and considered the father unjust. This is same in the Church and across human heart. The unbeliever does not want to do anything with God and the church going unbeliever goes just to make sure that they are not wrong.
Jesus came to adopt and bring home the lost sons. This is the gospel. The sinner is saved (justified) and is adopted into the family of God

On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ ” Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. John 7:37–39 (ESV)

Poem 1 | I will stand to fight
This is dedicated to all who are in the household of people in ministry, especially each and every pastor's wife and my own wife. I am writing this on a day i am forced to lie down as I have hurt my knees. And this incident was not isolated, it has been the a terrible time of being hurt physically. A tumour on the leg, a tear of the feet tendon, now a knee swelling. This was a fruitful time for the ministry as I been mentoring and helping people and this has been affecting even my poor wife who fears that these attacks (even spiritual) may only increase. So I want to encourage her and let her know that the reason I wake and get out of the bed has these reasons. I love her dearly and find her the best and precious and I want her to be encouraged through this.

Sermon 7 | Excellencies of Him | 1 Peter 2:9
The Bible talks about us being part of the world yet not in the world. The early Christians have done more to transform the Greeco-Roman world than any culture. The modern thoughts on dignity, respect, honor and value for human life has been based on the life the early Church lived.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.1 Peter 2:9 ESV

Sermon 6 | Series 1 | I AM Series | Episode 1 | Introduction | Exodus 3:14
There are seven times in the Bible where Jesus says the statement I am ... and all of them are found in the book of John. Before John, the place where we find this statement "I AM.." most pronounced is in the book of Exodus.
In this we see God from the old testament perspective.
God said to Moses, “ I AM WHO I AM.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘ I AM has sent me to you.’”

God sees us fasting and knows that we are motivated by a deep longing in our hearts for him and for his purposes to be fulfilled in the earth. He knows that we are not fasting to obtain the applause of people. He sees that we are acting not out of strength to impress others with our discipline, or even out of a desire to influence others to imitate our devotion. But we have come to God out of weakness to express to him our need and our great longing that he would manifest himself more fully in our lives for the joy of our soul and the glory of his name. - John Piper
