Armando Castellano on Culture, Expression and Leadership in Classical Music | CONVERSATIONS Ep.3

Founder and Editor Christine S. Escobar speaks with Armando Castellano: President, Founder and Artistic Director of Quinteto Latino in this latest installment of “Conversations” on the contributions and experience of Latinx/Latin Americans to classical music, and the importance of changing the nature of arts leadership.

Each episode of Represent Classical’s “Conversations” series features in depth interviews with industry leaders, notable musicians, movers, shakers, and innovators.

Quinteto Latino is a San Francisco Bay Area wind quintet with a mission to build community through Latino Classical Music: performance and advocacy. Founded in 2004 by Castellano, who is the group’s French horn player, this unique ensemble aims to expand the boundaries of a classical music tradition, commonly perceived as predominantly Euro-American, by performing works exclusively by Latino composers.
