9 Matt McLain chats with Ruth Lemon

A second interview from Matt McLain at PATT39, this time with Ruth Lemon from the University of Auckland in New Zealand. Ruth is a teacher educator and PhD student with an interest in indigenous education and Hangarau (Māori-medium technology). In this episode, Matt gets to explore the implications of Ruth's work in the New Zealand context for a wider audience of Technology Educators around the globe. Read Ruth's paper on 'The Indigenisation of Curriculum: An Emerging Philosophy of Hangarau...' on pages 28 to 37 of the PATT39 Conference Proceedings. 7 Matt McLain’s Interview with Ellinor Hultmark

Another interview from PATT39, with Matt chatting with Ellinor Hultmark, a PhD student studying learning in Technology Education at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. Ellinor's research explores reasoning in Technology Education in compulsory schooling. Matt's interest in her research was piqued when Ellinor talked about using her framework for reasoning for observations of teachers in their classrooms. You can read her paper, 'Unpacking Reasoning in the Design Process in Technology Education', on pages 67 to 73 of the PATT39 Conference Proceedings. Ellinor's framework draws on philosophical concepts on reasoning and could help with the theorisation of design and technology education.
