Religion has become a bludgeon in the hands of many who seem to want you to believe the way they do. But under all religions lays a strata of truth for which we have no language. Explore this particular vision – but you don’t have to believe any of it!

Sure, you can find God in Nature. And yet, we need other people to share in this experience we call life.

In 1993, when the song Pilgrim’s March appeared on Loadstar Magazine, Jeff Jones was interested in adding his touch to it. Many years have passed (29 to be exact) and Jeff took the MIDI file of my Techno Orchestra rendition and gave it his own special interpretation.

The music accompanying this episode hails from the ancient times of computer sound – the remarkable Sound Interface Device of the Commodore 64 computer. Here are some of the possibilities of a primitive synthesizer – and an example of what can be done in the 21st Century.

I don’t know where we get the idea that the church is a haven of “peace that passes understanding.” What happens within the congregation certainly passes understanding – but not exactly peacefully. Nevertheless, I did the ministry I could, and explored several of the tracks I was bound to follow. Collision is about the right word.

The ordained ministry is unique. Perhaps that is why we talk about being Called by God. My first experience of full time work was a mix of blessing and misery. Ultimately, the misery was a form of blessing as well.

Music - one on my four tracks - becomes shaped by the power of computer technology.

Piano lessons became playing for fun on the electronic organ. But lessons learned about how written music worked and basic music theory of chord accompaniment set the stage for later creativity.

As I move though retirement, I have been thinking about how I got here - especially in four areas of interest and creativity: Music, Computers, Videos, and Theology. This is the beginning of the journey.
