42: Alex Chausovsky pt. 2, Plus Financial King Makers and How to Trade Index Reconstitution

We welcome back Alex Chausovsky with ITR Economics.   Alex and I discuss his ascent through the business to become a Senior Advisor with a top economics firm.  Alex brings great insight into 3D printing,  domestic and global economic activity over the next 4 quarters, with specific insight into non-residential real estate.

I also discuss $PTON, $OKTA, $MRVL, $TEAM, $AEP, and $MTCH's inclusions into the Dow Jones 100.  I think there's a way to play these index reconstitutions depending on your risk tolerance.  Calls for the brave and long stock for the smart minded.

35: Life, Leverage, and Trading with Chad Smith

Hey Everybody, welcome to the Rich By 36 Podcast for Thursday, November 5th.  This podcast is presented by the Rich By 36 newsletter, smart trades for smart investing.  Every week the Rich By 36 newsletter puts three trades in your inbox.  We tell you what to buy, explain why you should buy it, and show you exactly where to sell.  Head to RichBy36.com to sign up for a free two week trial.

On today’s podcast I Zoomed with Chad Smith, the Host of the C’s Get Degrees… Going from Average To Extraordinary podcast.  Chad lives in Greenbay Wisconsin and I couldn’t help but ask him about being a Packers fan.  Later in the interview we’ll hear about how Chad attacks day trading currency and stocks, the brokerages he uses, the currency pairs he likes, and more.  What I wasn’t expecting was for Chad to have such an interesting story and we also dive into motivation, discipline, & goal setting.  You should come away from this podcast with a pep in your step and also have a better idea about how to accomplish that thing you’ve been putting off.

Check out Chad's Facebook page for links to his merchandise, podcast, and more.

33: Modern Monetary Theory pt. 1

The catchy idea with MMT is that fiscal deficits don’t matter and that governments can print money to pay their expenses. I’m going to unpack a lot of what MMT is and deconstruct a few myths around the theory.  It’s an expansive topic that’s been put forth by some of the brightest minds in finance so I definitely won’t be making every argument for and against it today but this will be a good primer to build from.

I'd love to talk to you about MMT.  If you're interested in appearing on the show shoot me an email at George@richby36.com.

32: Macroeconomics For The Soul, with Eric Mason

32: Macroeconomics For The Soul, with Eric Mason

Today I'm joined for a phenomenal conversation by recurring guest and economist Eric Mason.

Eric and I tackle Debt/GDP.  At our current pace, Debt/GDP will exceed 200% by 2050.  Does this matter?  What are the consequences of such a high ratio and what other examples of developed nations with high debt/GDP can we look too for guidance?

Money Velocity.  What does this mean and why does it matter? JPM's Q3 earnings report revealed that for the first time in history, the ratio of loans to deposits dropped below 50%.  Why does this matter and what are the implications?  What happens when that ratio unwinds?

We cover a lot more including ALLL and Eric introduces his new podcast, Astro-nomics which talks about the economic consequences of monetizing the final frontier.

What a show.

Teach people about money.  Raise the minimum wage so people can actually support themselves and their families when they enter the workforce.  And reduce the price of admission of public universities so that kids don’t graduate with huge debt burdens that will haunt them the rest of their lives and force them to work for the elites to pay it off.  Oh, and save the whales.

29: You Spin Me Right Round, Google

It seems the fire is getting hotter around big-tech’s market dominance. The House Judiciary Committee released a report stating Facebook, Amazon, Alphabet, and Apple are monopolies, suggesting Congress take up changes of antitrust laws that could result in parts of these companies being separated.

In the case of Alphabet, this would be a boon for shareholders and unlock tremendous value. Remember, as a shareholder in Alphabet you receive shares in the entity Alphabet spins off. Historically, spinoffs outperform over the next couple of years.

23: The Launch of RichBy36.com plus Options pt. 2 w David Nasser

Welcome to StockBites for Tuesday, September 8, 2020. I’d like to introduce something I’ve been working very hard on over the last couple months: RichBy36.com and The Beastly newsletter.  I’ve partnered with a market technician to create a stock newsletter for investors.. that’s an important distinction to make. This isn’t for day traders, gamblers, options traders, etc. The goal of RichBy36.com and The Beastly Newsletter is to help long term investors trade smarter, to manage risk, to know when to buy and (more importantly) when to sell stocks.  And it’s incredibly timely right now as it looks like we’re going to have our third consecutive red day in the stock market. I keep reading posts on twitter and reddit about managing risk and knowing when to either take profit from a position or when to sell a position at a loss. Well, that’s what The Beastly does. We combine fundamental and technical analysis to show you what stock to buy and where to set your stop loss and limit orders to bracket your return. If the stock appreciates to our target the limit order will trigger and you’ll lock in your gains… If the stock goes the other way and looses value your stop loss will hit and get you out of the trade before more damage is done. The goal is to trade smarter and bring real risk management to our subscribers. You can sign up for the Beastly at Richby36.com. Try it out for free for two weeks, see if you like it, and when you do it’s just $30 a month after that. No obligation, cancel anytime, and start trading smarter.

18: Passive Investing with Dylan Cox

Welcome to Stockbites for Monday, August 17th. We have a fun show for you today.  I interviewed a good friend, Dylan Cox, about his ETF investment strategy.  We talk about why he chooses to passively invest in ETFs, the risks of equity lending inside ETFs,  and the psychology of being a passive investor.

To date, we’ve interviewed a market technician, an options trader, Trey’s obviously into penny stocks, and I buy and hold equities. I think the take away from all these interviews is that there are several different ways to skin the investing cat.. but the cat has to be skinned. So find the right mix of return, risk, time, and stress levels that work with your lifestyle.
