Meet Rhobi Samwel, a phenomenal woman from Tanzania who started an organization "Hope for girls & women in Tanzania" which runs two safe houses in Mugumu and Butiama districts in the Mara region. The safe houses protect girls who run away from the harmful practice of female genital mutilation (FGM). Rhobi is a survivor of FGM who nearly died at the age of thirteen from excessive bleeding after being circumcised. She dedicates her life to fighting any form of gender-based violence against girls.
