30 - Just Kicking It in 'Love Jones'
This week, Chelsie joins the show to talk about her favorite movie, 'Love Jones.' She and I talk about how relevant the 1997 drama feels for us in our 20s and how the movie is different now than it was when she first watched it with her mom.
Chelsie shares her current TV watches; to decompress she watches 'The Office' currently streaming on Peacock and 'Arrested Development' on Netflix. She says the show we all should be watching is Netflix's thriller '3%' about a distant future where most of the population lives in poverty.

I'll be honest I am completely confused as to what the show is trying to do but Jeran joins the show this week to talk his theories. We also check out the other Marvel shows slated for the Disney Plus.

28 - Amazon's One Night in Miami...
This week, Natalie joins the show to talk about Regina King's film directorial debut with 'One Night in Miami...' based on true events but on a fictionalize meeting with Sam Cooke, Malcolm X, Jim Brown, and Muhammad Ali. We talk about the role of these men in American history but specifically to Black American history. We were both a bit surprised the movie talks about colorism but it's a conversation we are pleased is address, even briefly.
If you're a cinephile and love deep cuts on shots and edits, this episode is for you. Natalie and I talk about tracking, shots, and everything in between.

27 - Spotlight: The Power Universe - Power, Power Book II Ghost,
50 Cent pitched a Power Universe to STARZ executives and he and Courtney Kemp are expanding the world. It started with Power but through Book II: Ghost, we see how Tariq (which we all hated at one point, right?) in control as he works with a family and attempts to pave his own way.

Plus, as always, we talk about TV shows Tony is watching. To decompress and unwind, he goes to Criminal Minds and The Wire. A show he thinks you all should watch is Starz's P-Valley and SHOWTIME's The Chi.

What a season finale?! Natalie and I talk about HBO's Lovecraft Country's finale and the series as a whole. If you have not seen the final episode, wait before listening because we spoil it immensely out of the gate.

It received the most Emmy nominations this year with 26. Also, it's the most noms for a limited series in the category since the current rules were established in 2015.

Sports are slowly making its way back, mindfully different because of covid. As the first games return athletes are talking about social issues, the NBA and WNBA particular are letting athletes write whatever they want on their jerseys.
Some people watch sports to unwind so it may be conflicting to see athletes bring up social issues but it’s not the first time athletes have done so, this is what Chris and I talk about as we discuss his favorite movie.
Chris’ favorite movie is streaming on Disney+
His show to escape to is 90 Day Fiance, it is streaming on Hulu. The show he thinks more people should watch is I May Destroy You, it is streaming on HBO Max.
