If you're a avid listener of the podcast you know I always ask the guest, "sequel or remake" of their favorite movie; Chelsie believes this movie could be seen as a sequel to 'Love Jones.'

This week, Tija joins the show to talk about Amazon's Sylvie's Love starring Tessa Thompson and Nnamdi Asomugha.

The movie focuses on the summer romance between Sylvie and Robert. Tija and I agree the movie was overlooked when it was widely released Christmas weekend 2020. 

This week, Racquel joins the show to talk about Netflix's latest movie, 'Malcolm and Marie.' She and I both have issues with the movie, mostly because of the creator, but there are moments we enjoy.

These are our opinions but we really would like to hear what you think of the movie.

This week, Chelsie joins the show to talk about her favorite movie, 'Love Jones.' She and I talk about how relevant the 1997 drama feels for us in our 20s and how the movie is different now than it was when she first watched it with her mom.

Chelsie shares her current TV watches; to decompress she watches 'The Office' currently streaming on Peacock and 'Arrested Development' on Netflix. She says the show we all should be watching is Netflix's thriller '3%' about a distant future where most of the population lives in poverty.

Marvel's Kevin Feige says all of the studio's titles will connect to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. WandaVision is finally here after some setbacks due to COVID-19 but we have it here. 

I'll be honest I am completely confused as to what the show is trying to do but Jeran joins the show this week to talk his theories. We also check out the other Marvel shows slated for the Disney Plus.

This week, Natalie joins the show to talk about Regina King's film directorial debut with 'One Night in Miami...' based on true events but on a fictionalize meeting with Sam Cooke, Malcolm X, Jim Brown, and Muhammad Ali. We talk about the role of these men in American history but specifically to Black American history. We were both a bit surprised the movie talks about colorism but it's a conversation we are pleased is address, even briefly.

If you're a cinephile and love deep cuts on shots and edits, this episode is for you. Natalie and I talk about tracking, shots, and everything in between.

50 Cent pitched a Power Universe to STARZ executives and he and Courtney Kemp are expanding the world. It started with Power but through Book II: Ghost, we see how Tariq (which we all hated at one point, right?) in control as he works with a family and attempts to pave his own way.

Plus we look to the future with the forthcoming series.

This week we're remembering Chadwick Boseman and talking about his final film, 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.' We also talk about Marvel's decision not to recast T'Challa. 

This is the final episode of the year and what a better movie to talk about than one that made us do some reflection. I am talking with Valencia about Pixar's 'Soul' featuring the studio's first ever Black writer-director.

As 2020 wraps, it's time for 'best of' lists. Courtney and I talk about a host of titles from our favorite Parasite to recommending new titles to one another. We talk about P-Valley, Selah and the Spades, the Euphoria Special, Little Fires Everywhere and plenty more.

Halloween is in the past but it doesn't mean we can't watch a good spook. This week we talk about Netflix's 'His House' starring Wunmi Mosaku, from HBO's 'Lovecraft Country' and Sope Dirisu from director Remi Weekes.

This should be an episode where we also talk about our thoughts of Top Gun sequel Maverick but we know how that goes. But this is a great episode, catching up with Tony on how he stumbled upon Top Gun growing up and immediately connected with it.

Plus, as always, we talk about TV shows Tony is watching. To decompress and unwind, he goes to Criminal Minds and The Wire. A show he thinks you all should watch is Starz's P-Valley and SHOWTIME's The Chi.

This week we talk about the cult NXIVM in HBO's The Vow and Starz's Seduced. In this episode, we talk about sex assault but are not graphic but we want you to be aware that it is discussed.

This week we talk 'The Silence of the Lambs' with McKenzie. For some, they would be surprised this is her favorite movie but those closest to her know her interest in true-crime.

What a season finale?! Natalie and I talk about HBO's Lovecraft Country's finale and the series as a whole. If you have not seen the final episode, wait before listening because we spoil it immensely out of the gate.

Natalie and I go into detail about the 10th episode but also the breadcrumbs of information the writers leave us in each episode. We highly recommend rewatching each episode to pick up on some of the foreshadowing.

It is Halloween season so many people are trying to figure out the right movie to watch to get into the mood. Kiko and I talk about some of the movies that scared us growing up and those go to Disney Channel movies.
