The Afghan Files: Former Australian Army Lawyer and Whistleblower: David McBride

The Afghan Files: Former Australian Army Lawyer and Whistleblower: David McBride

The Afghan Files With Former Australian Army Lawyer and Whistleblower: David McBride

Please share this interview with at least ONE person or on social media, here's why👇

David has 3 degrees in law, he's a former British Army Major, former Australian Army Lawyer, he served two tours of duty in Afghanistan (2011 and 2013) and is a Whistleblower

David became aware that there were crimes being committed to Afghans in Afghnaistan by Australian troops.

David brought these crimes to the attention of his superiors but they not only ignored it, they suppressed the information and David.

To the extent that when David saw a psychologist, he was told that the information was in his imagination.

David took the information about war crimes committed by Australian soldiers in Afghanistan and provided them to the ABC.

In Australian Law, there is an Act called the Public Interest Disclosure Act that protects whistleblowers.

This Act stipulates that if an organisation someone were to see a wrong thats needs to be made right, that information needs to be taken to the authority figure of the organisation, should the organisation fail to right the wrong, then the information can be made public, and that's exactly what David did.

He followed the Public Interest Disclosure Act, went to his superiors with the information, when they ignored the seriousness and suppressed the information, thats when David went to the media.

These documents and information that David provided who included unlawful killings by Australian troops is called The Afghan Files.

An investigation was carried out to see if David's information had any credibility by Major General Justice Paul Brereton and it was found that, yes, crimes were committed by Australians. This is known as the Brereton Report.

10 years have now passed since The Afghan Files and only David has been charged, for speaking up about war crimes.

On the 27th October 2022, in the ACT supreme court David went to court to seek immunity from prosecution under the Public Interest Disclosure Act but The Australian government, would not allow it to go ahead.

David's bravery and courage to speak up about war crimes has come at a huge personal cost in these past 10 years. There has been huge stress on his family, he lost his career, he has a service dog thats with him even in the studio whilst we were doing the interview for his post traumatic stress disorder.

You and I may not be in a position in government to do anything BUT you and I, can collectively contribute to supporting David, seeking justice for him and his family, being a voice for the voiceless in Afghanistan who died and those who remain, continue to suffer in silence. We can also contribute to a brave, just and courageous  Australian government.

We can do do all of this, simply by sharing David's interview.

David's the one doing the heavy lifting, facing 50 years to a lifetime in prison for speaking up BUT we can help turn that around by sharing this interview and ANY other interview or video of David.

Australia was a role model for the world, when it banned guns, it made for a safer, happier, Australia.

Australia can once again, can be a role model for the world, if we pursue a government run on the rule of justice and law, protecting ALL its' citizens, domestically and internationally without special favours to anyone, without foreign coercion or interference and by addressing the wrongs and making them right.

This would alleviate the need for whistleblowing.

How do we do that? The power of the collective, PLEASE share this interview with at least one person, if not more people.

David McBride, we are indebted to you, thank YOU for your service.

Please listen in to the podcast.

With Peace.

Thank you.

How Women Can Get Elected in Government: With CEO, Women For Election, Licia Heath

Licia is the CEO of Women for Election, an organisation that provides training for women to learn the ins and outs of what is required to run for local, state or federal election.

This information has always been opaque and Women For Election is trying to make the process of standing for election transparent and accessible for women in Australia.

For our listeners in USA, UK and Canada, the process of election may differ from Australia's but the mindset in standing for election is the same.

Talking with Licia blew up some limiting beliefs, and by listening to this, I hope it uproots any of your limiting beliefs for standing up, standing out and leading.

How to Find your Own Solution to your Worries and help homelessness: with Beddown Founder Norman McGillivray

How to find your own solution to your worries: with Beddown Founder Norman McGillivray

This is Mind Blowing, yet, Simple Solution to Homelessness

If you want to learn how a remarkable yet simple idea can be conceived, and how you can follow the same path to find your own solution to a problem, listen IN.

Norman, a finalist for the Australian of The Year, thought up the life changing idea of Pop up homeless shelters in vacant spaces.

Take spaces that are commonly used and busy during the day but at night are left vacant or empty, then activate and repurpose the space at night into pop-up accommodation to ensure the homeless, those who are sleeping rough are then able to come and get into a bed at night.

In the morning pack up so the space can be used for its intended use and in the evening...Beddown.

This is a remarkable conversation with a man who after becoming redundant, thought, what next?

Who knew the "what next" would turn into a simple yet life changing project for one of society's most vulnerable.

If you're thinking, "what next" in your journey, listen to this podcast, how an idea, projected to change other lives, actually changes your own.

When to let go of an idea so it can, finally, Succeed! Inventor Spray on Skin Dr Fiona Wood

Inventor of Cellular Spray on Skin: Dr Fiona Wood

Dr Wood, a plastic surgeon, invented cellular spray on skin for burns victims.

We discuss how this incredible product idea was conceived through to production.

The highlight of this interviewer is self awareness.

Dr Wood a researcher and plastic surgeon conceived the idea for this life changing invention BUT to raise funding to make this idea into a reality, you'll hear how she raised money (including lamington drives) BUT once spray on screen was created, it didn't fly off the shelves! And that's the AH HA of this interview.

Her self-awarenss of knowing to stick to plastic surgery and research and give marketing and sales of the product to someone else, is what makes her a sought after surgeon and is given a platform very few surgeons have.

FISH Philosophy Founder John Christensen. Finding a profitable idea, that, NO ONE Else Can See!

FISH Philosophy Founder John Christensen. Finding a profitable idea, NO ONE Else Can See!

This is an incredible journey of how to pay attention a profitable idea from someone who has done exactly that!

On a visit to Seattle, John Christensen, observed fish sellers at Pike Place Fish Market tossing trout and salmon through the air of the market, providing high energy that energized many pedestrians passing by on their lunch breaks. They gave their complete attention to each customer and ensured each had an enjoyable visit.

Christensen noticed the actual work of selling fish was repetitive, cold and exhausting. It occurred to him that the fishmongers might not enjoy every part of their job, but they chose to bring joy to how they approached it.

They also sold a lot of fish. He asked the fishmongers if he could film them and they agreed. That turned into a film entitled Fish. John Christensen created the Fish Philosophy from the film, and a book entitled Fish! A Remarkable Way to Boost Morale and Improve Results, by Stephen C. Lundin, Harry Paul, and John Christensen.

If you've ever wanted to have a GREAT idea, listen to how John found his life changing idea as a documentary film maker and turned it into a profitable, corporate sensation, to help you find your own eureka moment! God willing.

How to Start a T.V show with Kate Sullivan (To Dine For)

How to Start a T.V show with Kate Sullivan (To Dine For)

To Dine For with Kate Sullivan

It's taken me some time to introduce you to Kate.

Kate is the Host and Executive Producer of the tv Show on PBS called To Dine For.

She interviews movers and shakers at their favourite restaurant about what it takes to pursue the American dream.

Here's why thats important for you...

Because someone didn't hand her the show and say, "here host this amazing show"...

INSTEAD...

Just like the entrepreneurs she interviews, this is Kate's own show and from idea to broadcast - she has had to think like a business woman (when for years she was paid to be a  journalist)   and fund her own show to be aired on a major network.

So whether....

your passion turns into a profession from your bedroom, kitchen table or an office space, it has been the same entrepreneurial spirit that has had Kate turn her passion, very publicly, into a profession called, To Dine For, on TV.

With NO experience of hosting her own show or even how to go about it, no experience in sales or marketing  😲

She has managed

to get people on her show like Sarah Blakely of Spanx, Founder of Tom's Shoes, Mel Robbins and a whole lot more....

Just like any business that starts off, Kate's the sales, customer service, appointment setter, marketing and the talent...

It's just that you don't expect it from Kate because it's a show on TV and on Amazon Prime, you assume the tv network is providing her with all of it...

Journalist

Although she's still a journalist because she's asking questions, she left her comfy job as a tv news anchor and started fresh as an entrepreneur with a tv show.

This is a brilliant conversation on how to start your own show, on tv, podcast, or simply apply her hustle in your idea (with no experience)

How her profession as a journalist changed once she was released from prison, her journey to Islam

This is a real and raw account that isn't found on mainstream. I actually asked her, why haven't the mainstream media have not interviewed her???

A remarkable account of Yvonne's experience with the Taliban, how the media changed towards her once she converted and how america's 9/11 to this DAY of the re-emergence of yet another government in Afghanistan has been Afghanistan's 24/7.

How to Turn A Passion Into a Charity: Afghanistan Edition with Samea Zarifi

Samea started a grass root charity from her home in Sydney, Australia, helping with food packs, medical supplies, and sewing school in Afghanistan.

The sudden and recent withdrawal of the United States from Afghanistan caused a lot of panic but the small and humble charity called Srowzar Children was on the ground in Afghanistan, helping the devastated people that had piled into a park in Kabul with no food, water or shelter.

This interview covers the process and ah ha moment Samea turned her passion for a war torn country that's been used as a soccer ball for the past 40 years, into a charity, and its timing could not have been better since transition of power.

This is an eye opening interview about:

The necessity of small, grass root charities,

The process from accepting a donation to the delivery of food to the people in need

The change of charity distribution since Taliban takeover

The Process of Self-Discovery: With Gavin McCormack.

Gavin is a teacher.

But he has taken a profession like teaching and moulded it in to his own DNA. He has made it his own.

He is on the speaking circuit, he's an author, a TEDx Speaker, a futurist AND a school teacher.

This is the definition of unboxing ones gift. Taking a passion and turning it into a profession.

We talk about personal branding  - which is your own resume online - what you post, becomes your digital resume and since Gavin has been doing, opportunities not common for teachers have come his way.

So its not always about working for yourself, its about having the self-awareness to know oneself (Hamza Yusuf says: how can we really know other things, if we don't know what's closest to us, which is our own selves)... to serve a purpose greater than our self interest.

As a result Gavin has been:

  • Nominated for Author of the Year in 2017, Gavin aims to make a change in society through targeted children’s and parenting books tackling difficult topics.
  • Nominated for Australian of the year in 2019 and 2020, Gavin has used his spare time to set his mind to changing the education system in Nepal.
  • Was named by Linkedin as one of the ten most influential educators in the world, 2018.
  • Was a finalist in the Educator awards hotlist for Principal of the year, 2020.
  • Presented at the TEDX Sydney Conference on the highly influential topic of ‘How Education Can save the World’, 2020.
  • Single handedly built several schools, libraries and teacher training centres in Nepal, with an aim to revolutionise the education system in the country.

Using speaking as a marketing tool to generate leads and clients in ONE talk - has just taken off.  . The market has shifted because of COVID. Which is why like me, you can be in living in Canberra, Australia and speak to a group of people in Singapore, in Dubai, in Brisbane, in Lisbon etc, speaking for FREE AND generating leads and clients in a single presentation or talk.

If you’d like to learn HOW to take what you do and turn it into a talk that gives you the ability to sell on the spot without being salesy, it’s 100% doable.

Creating experiences that Aren't limited by  Imagination with Tom Allwright

Tom founded Adventure Abroad because, for a long time, adventure travel had been associated with roughing it through cold, wet and uncomfortable conditions.

We were always told that was just part of the experience and was sold as ‘character building’.

After a career in the AFL with the Geelong Cats (Australian football) , Tom was hiking towards Mt Everest with a friend and  talking about the opportunities of creating experiences that weren’t limited by our imagination, where anything was possible.

Tragically, on this same trip, Tom's mate passed away in his arms. Tom founded Adventure Abroad so that people could experience adventure in remote and beautiful parts of the world with uncompromising levels of luxury and safety.
