The Journey

God desires to be known. The Bible is a record of His revelation of Himself to Man. The better we know Him, the easier it is to believe and trust Him - which is His desire. And He desires that for our good. The message is taken from John 10:1-15.

Acts 18:9-11 - The Lord spoke to the Apostle Paul telling him not to be afraid and to continue to boldly proclaim the Gospel. Why was that necessary and what can we learn from it?

The next step in our Journey Through Acts is in Acts 16. After freeing the demon possesse girl, Paul and Silas were imprisoned. But, who was bound and who was free? And when the prison was miraculously opened, who gained ultimate freedom? Find out here!

Another step in our Journey Through Acts. Acts 16 contains the account of Paul and the demon possessed slave-girl and her calloused owners. There is much we can learn in this account. So join us as we take a look. 

The end of Acts 15 is where we see the beginnins of Paul's 2nd Missionary Journey. It is a fascinating study, teaching us many things. One of the most valuable lessons is responding well when God's answer is, No! or Not yet! 

Ezekiel records that God searched for a man to stand in the gap and serve, but He found none. We have all been blessed to know good men. The fact remains, there are too few of them. Good men must learn several things. When they do, they can be good husbands and good fathers. Hear about it in this podcast. 

Jesus' prophetic discourse in chapter 24 is followed by His parables related to His coming again. The chapters are one, uninterrupted address. What we see as a chapter break is a bit unfortunate. The most important point is to be a faithful steward of all that has been placed in our care. What is that? The sermon begins to answer that question. 

Jesus discussion with His disciples answered their questions about the future and the end of time. Not only did Jesus answer what they asked, He addressed more than they asked. We commonly refer to Matthew 24 & 25 as the Olivet Discourse. There are many lessons to be learned and these sermons just begin to scratch the surface. 

Exodus 2:1-10 is the text for this Mother's Day mesage. The obedience of Jochabed provides numerous lessons for all believers - mother or not!

This parable is from Matthew 13:45-46. It is another step in the Lord showing us the future of His Kingdom here on Earth. The parable of the Hidden Treasure dealt with God's plan for Israel. This parable shows us the Church. Enjoy the Word! 

This parable from Matthew 13:44, is one of the 'mystery' parables. It's just one verse in length, but its implications are staggering. Enjoy this examination of God's plan for the nation of Israel.

A message for Resurrection Sunday, 2022. The Resurrection of Christ is the essential truth of our faith. If Christ is not risen, then all we do is in vain. The good news? There is more than enough evidence to substantiate our faith!!! 

Matthew 18 - How should the Church receive those who come to Christ? Verses 1-11 open our understanding of our role in people coming to faith in Christ. This chapter goes on to show us how the Church should restore fallen believers and how we should always be ready to reconcile with other believers. 

From Luke 18 - Jesus told this parable to those who look down on others. As with so many of His parables, as well as the beginning of His Sermon On The Mount, humility is required if one is to enter His Kingdom.

Luke 16 contains this very familiar and very challenging account. This parable is instructive and convicting on multiple levels. The unique aspect of this message is the contrast between the parable's primary characters and Jesus as our great, giving Savior. Spend some time reflecting on this incredible parable. 

Matthew 13 marks the time Jesus began to teach primarily in parables. He began with the sower, the seed, and the soils. This parable is also recorded in Mark 4. And a comparison of the two accounts gives a full picture of the details as well as Jesus' explanation to His disciples (and us). 

Matthew 25:1-13 - Another step in our Journey Through Jesus' Parables. This well-known parable is a continuation of Jesus' teaching on the coming of the Kingdom (His second coming) in Matthew 24. 

This is the first step on our Journey through Jesus' parables. This well-known parable contains insights that challenge us and convict us. Even so, we are to let the Word of Christ dwell in us richly. So engage with this parable and hear what the Spirit has to say.

Paul's words from Philippians 3 are especially insightful as we work to be good stewards of the New Year. Christ has laid hold of us for His purposes and we reach for the prize of His calling as His Church.

It can be challenging to see the familiar with fresh eyes. But we must try. And as familar as the Love Chapter may be, we must encounter it as if we've never seen it. Faith is a journey. And Stones of Remembrance help us along the way. Our memories are one of God's great teaching tools. Recalling His guiding hand can give us the necessary perspective we need to live a vibrant life of faith. 

Just one snippet from this episode: We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary. I was out of the country with a mission team. When I got to the mission house and opened my suitcase, I found a note and a card inside. The note read: Do not open until the 15th (our anniversary). And when I called home a little while later, I told my bride that those TSA people were doing even more unusual stuff these days; putting notes and cards in suitcases. We laughed.... A wedding anniversary is a time to:
