Get in your best shots!
We have been concentrating much on COVID and may have forgotten about all the other vaccines and immunization schedules. As we begin gearing up for the annual flu vaccine season, now is the time to refresh yourself of all the immunization recommendations and remind your patients about them. Patients are more aware of vaccines and the benefits of immunization protocols but may not be up to date or complete with their recommended vaccine schedules. Pharmacists have an opportunity to address vaccinations with our patients, in the pharmacies as they present themselves for prescriptions and in the hospitals as part of our discharge counselling.

The Story Behind the Middle Seat Hump Syndrome
Remember summer vacations in the family car with the middle seat in the back, and right where your feet want to be is "the hump?" The effects of COVID-19 is the middle seat hump and we’ve all had our turns there. The ride is coming to the end. We may be a little worse for the wear but we are going to climb back out into the world and move around and see what we missed.
Michael Ross shares his thoughts on the Middle Seat Hump Syndrome. Read the post inspired by these thoughts at the Pharmacist's Pulse Blog at www.roamcare.org/blog

Don’t Believe Everything You Think
Pharmacists have navigated your way through one set of unknowns only to find new ones surfacing to demand your attention. You instinctively know when it is not the time to rely on that "way we always do things" as the best way to approach still shifting priorities and thoughtfully approach each challenge. Your ability to temper your thoughts, to ponder, consider, and adjust are part of what makes you greater than just you.

Together We Can Immunize the World
Vaccines have the potential to bring us together but only work if people are willing to be vaccinated. Caregivers can serve as role models by getting the vaccine, sharing their experiences, and encouraging others to do the same. Will we let vaccines do their work and bring us together or will we let the disease tear us apart?

Tell a Story With Heart
Beware of social media story tellers specialize in distribution of questionable information more fiction that fact. Pharmacists must remain vigilant to the information and misinformation circulating, ready to address the questions of the public on medications and medication related concerns. The stories our patients hear should be ones of inspiration with nothing but the truth, told from the heart.

Be a Hero
Did you know April is National Donate Life Month? This year it came with little fanfare. The annual April 15 tax deadline was delayed but for 107,000 people currently waiting for a transplant, every day brings a deadline, A new member is added to their group every 9 minutes and for 17 people the deadline will come today as they lose their fights while waiting for an organ that will never come. Don’t let the rest of Donate Life Month go by unnoticed. Do something. You won’t make the news, nobody will say you name, and there won't be parade in your honor. Do it anyway.
