How to become a travel writer

I’m 40 something years old, and tonight I’m hopping a redeye to DC to do a story for Get Lost Magazine entitled “DC after Dark”. The itinerary is fierce: Dinner at Alibi, an personalized tour of the espionage museum, even a show at the Ford theater to name a few highlights. All in all there are 33 items on the itinerary over the three packed days I will be there.

DC. Cusco. Paris. I’ve been all over the world with Get Lost Magazine. I never tried or even wanted to be a travel writer, yet somehow been blessed with this enormous gift. I think the story is interesting, and one that could never happen again in our time. So, here it is, the real down and dirty of how to become a travel writer.
