The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

CS Lewis Quote: "The terrible thing, the almost impossible thing, is to hand over your whole self – all your wishes and precautions – to Christ. But it is far easier than what we are all trying to do instead. For what we are trying to do is to remain what we call ‘ourselves’, to keep personal happiness as our great aim in life, and yet at the same time to be ‘good’. We are all trying to let our mind and heart go their own way – centered on money or pleasure or ambition – and hoping, in spite of this, to behave honestly and chastely and humbly. And that is exactly what Christ warned us you could not do. As He said, a thistle cannot produce figs. If I am a field that contains nothing but grass-seed, I cannot produce wheat. Cutting the grass may keep it short: but I shall still produce grass and no wheat. If I want to produce wheat, the change must go deeper than the surface. I must be ploughed up and re-sown." – Mere Christianity

Judges Overview Video
Is there room for ordinary? Is there a place for everyday, faithful people to make an impact? Today we meet just your ordinary guy in the Bible. He doesn’t have an unusual beginning. He doesn’t do great miracles. He doesn’t make a big splash in the culture. But he lives faithfully before God and others, every day, day after day, same after every same day and God uses Him. What makes the ordinary, extraordinary, the power of living faithfully. Instead of holding on tightly to who he thought he needed to be, he became who God meant him to be. If you ever wonder if God notices, or sees or cares about your life, take notice. That is the lesson of everyday faithfulness. Let go of who you think you should be and become who God meant you to be.
Judges Resource Video
Scripture for this week is Judges 3.
This week is an overview of the whole book and series. The book of Judges consists of a similarly repeated cycle in this period of Israel’s history: The people become complacent and turn their focus away from God. Eventually, trouble and difficulty come their way, usually from oppressive enemies. They call out to God for help and God raises up a Judge who leads them to political victory and spiritual fullness. The people turn to God and enjoy His favor until they become complacent and the cycle repeats itself. We all bow down to something or someone. Our choice is whether we bow to a God who saves or a God who enslaves us. Judges reminds us that small areas of disbelief can have big consequences. Listen as Chad and Mike go beyond the message in this week's Rogue Table Talks!
