Step Into: where u been?
Well, it might be a new year, but it's still the same old us. The girls of Room 3228 are back to wrap up 2021 with a bow. They're shrugging off all of the negativity and steering clear of the road blocks from 2021 in order to make 2022 the best year yet. The past year was full of adventures and new moves on all fronts, so it’s time to reflect on all of the lessons that the girls were forced to learn. The good, the bad, and yes the ugly too (trust us, it got real ugly sometimes). If you weren't there for the ride, you truly missed out. This is your time to catch up with your favorite besties because they're taking off their training wheels. They scraped their knees and broke their nails, but no matter how many times they fell, they always got back up, just so that they could chat about their experiences with all of you. So, sit back, grab a glass of wine and listen, laugh, and cry as the girls of Room 3228 dive into Season 3.

Step Into: Women Who Run the World
Who run the world? GIRLS! Although, women's history month was in March, the girls of Room 3228 believe that women should be celebrated all year long. So they sat down with representatives from Global Girlhood, a global community of women and gender-expansive folks that inspires storytelling and fosters connections, about how they aim to revolutionize representation in media, education, and leadership. Guests Radhika Kalani, a product owner at the Blackstone Group and the Director of Outreach for Global Girlhood, and Grace Schleck, a LGBTQIA+ advocate and the Director of Operations for Global Girlhood, talk about their perception of feminism and how to make this movement more inclusive. They discuss the importance of women stepping into their power, while also sharing their aspirations for women in the future.

Get ready because it’s time for a girls and guys tell-all. It was music to the girls’ ears when they heard that former guest and musician Joshua Castillo, as well as his good friend and music extraordinaire Roshen Varughese, would join the girls to talk about their music-inspired bromance. The episode wouldn’t be complete without the girls asking their guests some burning questions about men, masculinity, and bro codes. Needless to say, this chat ended on a high note!

Pour a little bit of identity crisis into this week’s tea! On this episode, the girls bring IT specialist and artist extraordinaire Abil Abraham all the way from Astoria to talk about his Indian-American heritage. They discuss what components of their identity are the most significant to them and how their identities have changed over time, as well as how they define themselves as New Yorkers and as Americans. The girls and their hipster guest ask questions that most people are too scared to face in the hopes of discovering their true selves: What does it mean to be stateless? Nevertheless, before we get into the nitty gritty of opinion-based battles, it’s time to check our sources. Luckily, we’re joined by resident “baby journalist” Morgan Mullings, a Report for America Corps member and staff reporter for the Bay State Banner, for an on the record chat about fake news in the age of social media reporting. Join us for a fascinating discussion about why Morgan chose to pursue a career in journalism and her take on why local newspapers are critical sources of information.
