Let's Go Camping
Zak and Sarah break down mountaintop experiences - is it acceptable to talk about "retreat highs," can one build a spirituality on the mountain, and what do we make of the mountain when we are walking through a valley. Join us for some reminiscing about our own spiritual highs and a fun discussion about how we talk about our spiritual experiences. Plus we make ties to the Transfiguration.
"It's good that we should be here, Lord... let's build tents!" -St. Peter (probably... no definitely)
The Heroes We Deserve
Zak and Sarah talk about a very important question: "would the way we talk about saints today have converted Ignatius of Loyola?" Along the way, they cover Mother Teresa's Dark Night of the Soul, Jose Sanchez del Rio's assertive "Viva Christ Rey!", and Iron Man's status as a genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist. Does how we tell the stories of holy people still inspire is to strive for virtue ourselves?
The Doldrums
This is week seven of stay-at-home, and boy is it BORING. So Zak and Sarah revive and old and infamous youth group strategy for talking - the pull-a-card witness! Listen to hear a little bit about us, why we love youth ministry, what challenges us, and what we think about the Church of the future. Plus, we just have some fun. Enjoy!
Anaesthesia and Exit Strategies
This pandemic has everything to do with anaesthetics - both highlighting for us the normal ways we numb ourselves to just "get through life" and presenting new and boring ways to pass the time in quarantine (looking at you Tiger King). But luckily, it's starting to look like the end is in sight, at least we hope. So what have we learned so far, and what should we zakar, remember, when life returns to normal?
Getting Your Triduum On
We take on two topics - interwoven importantly during Holy Week - what it is about there Three Days that differs from all other days, and what it is about the Church that differs from every other organization. The answer to both, in a way, is Jesus, but our conversation meanders into many avenues to talk about Him. We hope you'll enjoy... Happy Holy Week!
Church Starts at Home
Zak and Sarah talk about the Domestic Church - our misunderstanding of it in our younger days, our appreciation of it today, and our challenge to live it in our daily lives, especially during the COVID-19 stay-at-home order. Plus, there's a whole lot of talk about love and sacrifice, two things we know and care a lot about. Don't wait for the Church to go live on Facebook, be the Church now!

Party Like It's 1699
When Life gives you Lemons, you make Lemonade. Well, when Life gives us a pandemic and a shelter-in-place order, we turn our homes into Monasteries. At least, that's what Sarah and I contend in this episode. We cover how to schedule your time while on your own, why you should carve out times for prayer and eating, and how the desert fathers and early monastics give us insight into surviving quarantine. Plus, a prayer for Spiritual Communion.
Why Do Good Things Happen to Bad People?
Zak and Sarah pick apart the one-dimensional nature of Disney villains, and more importantly, discuss why God allows evil in the world and what we can do in dark times. A perfect first episode from the comfort of our shelter-in-place living room.
