Meet Celeste Johnson - a wife, mother, runner and great person!
I had such a great conversation with Celeste and we talked more about running than anyone I've ever had on the show. She definitely shared some great nuggets in this show, such as:
It's ok to start running on a treadmill
Venturing out can be a little bit scary
Take care of your body!
When in doubt, commit!
And much more

No matter what you do, no matter what you're trying to accomplish, almost everything in life takes longer, requires more effort, more money and focus to accomplish than you originally planned. It's a simple fact of life. Even the small tasks of your daily commute or doing the dishes, if you think about it, usually take longer than you originally anticipated.
But that is ok! Friction in life creates better results, and in it's own weird way is able to filter out those who are truly committed to something vs. those who are just interested.
So - where in your life are you seeing friction is present and how can you start to deal with it in a more strategic way?
In staying consistent with the theme of this show, "Run Your Day" - let's all agree that you can't possibly be "running your day" when you're stuck on social media all day every day. It just isn't productive, it's a time-suck and it doesn't give you what you want.
The crazy part is that every social network and app out there is literally designed with addiction and constant attention in mind, so it's an uphill battle every single day to fight this.
In the end, take a look in the mirror and ask yourself: Are you addicted to social media? Yes or no?
There is no middle-ground on this - either you are or you aren't. The good thing is that if you are - that's ok and there are resources out there to help you with these things. But if you aren't - that's great too, but keep up the good work and don't let this stuff suck you in!
I believe that the single-biggest thing holding many of us back in life is our willingness to get uncomfortable and just go for things.
Don't be "that guy" who is all talk and no action. I see you. I know you. I WAS YOU. I STILL AM YOU.
We all do it - we all stay comfortable for one reason or another. And it slowly and surely kills us.
So today - just go for it. Just launch - like I did, when I was scared, uncertain, hesitant and terrified. Just go.
Hey! Be sure to download the BRAND NEW Run Your Day app on the App Store and Google Play - or you can go directly to app.runyourdaypodcast.com to see what it's all about!
In the midst of a presidential election in uncertainty, we can extract a great lesson from this. Every election is essentially a "referendum" on the incumbent - do you want more of the same or change? It truly can be that simple.
So inside of your life, if you were to do a "self-referendum" on the various areas of your life, would you vote for more of the same or would you vote for change? Would you vote to remove the person you've been from office and replace you with someone different, or would you keep doing what you're doing?
It's something kind of deep to think about and despite all the chaos, confusion and anger brought about by this election, I think we could all use a self-referendum of our lives and move forward accordingly.
The more things you do in life, the more you have what I call "split-attention" syndrome, which is a killer in the world of productivity.
You try to do too much, then end up not doing enough, then feel guilty and unaccomplished, then anxiety builds and you feel further behind and you fall further and further behind. It's a viscious spiral.
So how do we escape that? Try meditating on a single question: What is the single thing I need to focus on today?
Allow the answer to rise within you. Don't seek it out. Don't try too hard. Just listen to yourself. Trust yourself. You know you better than anyone, and your Voice will eventually give you the answer you're seeking.
Question: What do you need to do today to simplify, clarify and focus on less in order to get more done?

Do you have what it takes to make your dreams a reality? Put simply: are you willing to keep going through adversity and do what it takes, for as long as it takes until you reach your goal?
There's no getting around things, skirting things or taking the shortcut. The work is the work and that is the way it is.
Question: Where in your life do you know that there is simply a level of things you need to go through over and over until your dream comes true?
Here's the deal:
If you're going to start a business or try and do some big shit in life, there is A LOT of boring work involved in that journey. It's just part of it.
The media we consume portrays this sexy and care-free image of entrepreneurs and big businesses, but it's not real. What you don't see is the boring, monotonous, tedium involved in the actual real work of starting and building these things. Yes - there are parts that are exciting - but the bulk of it is annoyingly boring.
So what do you do?
Own it! Embrace that boring work! This gives you an edge. How many people are willing to tolerate that level of boring work? Answer - not many. So start to learn to embrace that boring work, because if you do the boring, repetitive tasks you need to do over and over and over and over again - you will breakthrough that barrier and get to the exciting stuff one day.
Question: Where in your life are you avoiding the "boring work" and you just need to shift and embrace it?!
Each one of us has a whole bunch of "unconscious" directions, patterns and behaviors that we follow throughout the day. It might be your commute to work, your morning routine, tasks at work, the way you answer the phone, etc. Many of these patterns are harmless, but some can cause you to go in an entirely different direction throughout your life.
The best part about realizing what your unconscious patterns and behaviors are, the better chance you have of correcting them - if it is indeed something you want to correct. Through the process of awareness and becoming present to these behaviors, you can consciously act in ways that remedy these behaviors and therefore give yourself different results and a different reality.
Where in your life do you now recognize unconscious patterns and behaviors and what can you start to do to correct them?
Just because someone says you should work out in the morning doesn't mean you should do that. Maybe you are more productive in the afternoon, evening or late-night. Do what fits your personality, your skills and your routines.
Don't try to do something someone else can do just because that is how they do it. Be yourself and recognize where your individual strengths are.
Question: Where in your life do you need to change up a routine or your "focus" time to create more space and power for yourself?
When I say "system" I mean an area of your life. If you take a good look around at one area of your life that might not be working the way you want it to, it might be because you don't have a high level of systemization there.
Example: You want to work out and keep losing weight, but you keep falling off the wagon and quitting on yourself.
Why? Because you don't have systems in your life to stay on track. You might not be part of a gym or a workout group to hold you accountable, or you just keep winging it and hoping for results.
So, inside of your life, where is one area where you can make one small change today to make that area work better as a system?
We'd love to hear your input, and you can leave comments on this question on our Facebook page!
There is a problem many of us face without even realize it:
We are constantly trying to get back to whatever the status quo was before a change happened in our life.
Think about it:
You're going along living your life and doing your thing
A "trigger" event happens and throws you into a different course or direction
You then spend your energy and effort trying to return to the place from which you were thrown off course - a.k.a. the status quo
The point however isn't to return to where you were previously - it's to move beyond that into a new and better place.
A tool I use to pull this off is called The Stack and I use it through a program called Wake Up Warrior. If you want to learn more about the Wake Up Warrior program, you can check it out here:
Where in your life have you been trying to return to the "status quo" when you now can start thinking about how to move beyond that place instead?
Just as the Bible says, "...to everything there is a time and a place under Heaven..."
This is incredibly true and relevant in today's world. Why are we experiencing a pandemic RIGHT NOW? Why are we experiencing racial and social justice activism RIGHT NOW?
You may not understand exactly why something is happening in the world or in your life right now, but there will eventually come a time when you appreciate why that thing happened in that place and time.
One thing I've learned throughout my life is that there is never something thrown at me that I can't handle. No matter how bleak, upsetting, terrible or stressful something might seem, I've always found that it happened for a reason to shape me into who I am today in one way or another.
Where in your life do you need to recognize that there is a time and a place to what you are facing right now (and that it won't last forever?)
This was such a great interview y'all! You HAVE TO find 30 minutes to listen to this episode! I promise you - this entire show is packed with so much value, tips, tricks and gold nuggets.

What comes to mind when you think about the word "risk?" Bad things, death, being broke, leaping off a mountain?
Risk means something a little bit different to us all, but inside of a business & life sense it usually means doing something with both a potential upside and downside. You might end up better or worse because of an action or decision or thing you're doing.
So how do you deal with all the thoughts and worries and anxiety around taking risks and get to a place where you can strategically and confidently take regular, calculated risks?
Walk through the worst-case scenario in your mind and accept that outcome as the default. Think about it - if the absolute worst-case scenario does in fact happen and come to fruition, but you have already anticipated that outcome, where does that leave you? It leaves you in a place to fight another day.
When you go through and accept the rock-bottom scenario as the likely outcome - anything that happens above that bottom threshold is a win! This shouldn't be confused with negative thinking, but it is truly a powerful way to gain certainty and clarity in your decisions.
Question: Where in your life do you need to take a risk and stop sitting on the fence of indecision?
Do you tell yourself affirmations? Is what you're telling yourself actually true or is it a lie?
Many people use affirmations in their life to affirm truths to themselves or create something different in their life. The problem is that sometimes those affirmations can be blatent lies.
Example: If you tell yourself every single morning, "I'm a multi-millionaire" and yet you make $40,000/year in a job - you are simply lying to yourself. The fact that you tell yourself this daily doesn't make it real. It makes it a lie.
Now, that being said, if the right things are affirmed to us with the right intention behind them, then they become powerful. Simply saying the words doesn't make the results appear - doing the work does.
Question: What are the affirmations you tell yourself, and after further investigation - are they lies or transformative beliefs you are pursuing?
Did you know that "running your day" is actually easy? Weird, right? The only catch is that it's easy once you aren't being held back by anything.
Imagine you were running a marathon with 150 pounds strapped to your back. That would make things much more difficult, right? Now - imagine that you shed that 150 pounds on mile 13-14. Do you think it would make the rest of the race easier, even though you still have half of it to go and are probably pretty tired already?
All of us have something that is holding us back. Whether it is guilt, shame, fear, anxiety, abuse, childhood trauma - there is something that is preventing you from reaching your full potential in one area of life. Until you identify that thing and deal with it, you'll be carrying around that 150 pound bag.
Question: What is holding you back?
There are two types of lenses you can view each opportunity that comes to you in your life:
Excitement & possibility
Obstacle & imposter syndrome
A lot of this has to do with our self-identity and how we see ourselves. For example: if you can only lift 100 pounds in the gym, your mind sees yourself as "the 100-pound" person. So if you try to lift 150, there might be an initial freak-out moment or moment of doubt that creeps into your brain, because your mind is telling you that you are doing something that doesn't align with the identity you've created for yourself.
You're entering the land of worry, doubt & anxiety. But there is a way to break through that - and that is just through simply challenging yourself.
Do something uncomfortable and scary today - and see how you feel afterwards!

When you punch in an address into Google Maps, but you eventually make a wrong turn along that route, does Google Maps just shut down on you? Do you just pull over to the side of the road and stop and groan about it? No - you end up taking a different route, but you still get to the same destination.
The same concept is true in our lives. Regardless of what you're working for or what you are trying to achieve in life, there will be changes to your route and plan along the way. The funny thing about the universe is that it doesn't care what your "plans" or "steps of achievement" are. Most likely, the path to achieving or obtaining something will be completely different than the way you envisioned it in the first place.
Question: Where in your life have you missed a turn in the road and stopped to whine and complain instead of just staying committed to the result?

What do you picture when you think of "mental toughness?" Do images of Rocky come to mind? I'll have you consider that one of the biggest areas of mental toughness that isn't talked about today is self-investigation and reflection.
Are you willing and ready to start this journey of self-investigation into what makes you tick, why you do what you do, who you are?
If you are ready, check out the brand new Run Your Day Elite Mastermind today!
Do you take the blame for something even when it's not your fault? It can be very difficult to do, espescially when your brand or reputation might take a hit, but I'll have you consider that fessing up to a fault or error - even when it wasn't even your fault - makes you better as a person and an authority in the long run.
In this day and age where no one wants to take responsibility for any failure ever, it is those who do own up to their mistakes and work to correct them that will ultimately win and rise to the top. - Dan Hafner
Where in your life do you need to accept more responsibility for failures?
Are you finding yourself demotivated, depressed, anxious, stressed and overwhelmed some days? Don't be afraid to admit it - it happens to us all. I myself am having one of these days right now. But here is a simple 4-step process to help you dig your way out of it:
Acknowledge - the key to fixing a problem is admitting you have a problem right? Many of us struggle just to get into this stage and admit that we are struggling with ourselves or our motivation levels.
Accept - instead of adopting the mindset of "screw this, I'm gonna man-up and just push through!" - you need to accept and submit to the fact that you're just having an off day. Believe me, it gets much easier once you can do that.
Analyze - this goes back to playing the "why" game. Why are you feeling this way? What has happened to make this your reality? What is going on in your life? This is the process of unwinding and untangling your thoughts and feelings.
Act - you'll come out of this analyze phase with an action - and you'll know exactly what you need to do. Maybe you need to take a day off. Maybe you need to go do something fun and socialize. Maybe you need to have that hard conversation with someone or change your diet. All of this work is fruitless if you don't actually act.
So there you have it, the 4-step process to dig yourself out of a mentally tough situation.
Where can you apply this to your life today?
Sometimes you just aren't strong enough to pull something off. You might buckle under the pressure or fall short of a target or just get your ass straight up kicked. The important thing to remember is that you aren't a failure or wicked or awful if that happens - you just don't have the capacity to pull that thing off right now.
Even if you bite off more than you can chew, it makes you stronger. After all, how are muscles built? They are torn down before they build themselves up again.
Where in your life have you been crushed by the enormity of something (job, fitness, etc), but looking back on it, you just weren't strong enough at the time to pull it off?
Where in your life is something now easy which was incredibly difficult for you to pull off, but you haven't given yourself props for noticing that about yourself?
You gotta enjoy the little things!
The more you do in life, the more you realize that the victory is found in the details. The closer you pay attention to the small details of something - whether it is inside your workout routine, your job or business tasks or inside a relationship - the more you find that nailing those details is what makes the difference.
It's like "Any Given Sunday" - life is a game of inches! And when you add up all those inches, it's what makes the difference between winning and losing!
Question: Where in your life do you know that you need to pay attention to the details more and what can you do today to start to do that?

Here are 3 ways in which I pull myself out of a bad mood:
1. Breathe - there are a multitude of apps that can help you with this, or you can just focus on taking 2-3 deep breathes (and holding in between) - there is nothing quite like the power of a deep breath.
2. "The Why Game" - similar to how a 2-year old asks, "why" to literally everything you say, do this inside of your own mind as well. Sit down and start with the question "Why am I feeling this way" and answer it honestly. Take that answer and ask "why" again. Then again, and again and again until you hit a point where the true story reveals itself to you. How will you know it has revealed itself to you - trust me - you'll know.
3. Move - For me, this involves running. For you, it could be a punching bag, working out, lifting weights, walking your dog, stretching, yoga, etc. It doesn't matter as much WHAT you are doing but as long as you are doing SOMETHING. Get up and shake off that negative energy, move your body and even break a sweat.
So - what do you do to pull yourself out of a bad mood?

Spoiler alert - The Greatest Showman.
Do you have a vision for your goal/life that you cling to in order to push you through the tough times? If you don't, you're likely quitting or stopping at the smallest speed bump in the road. I've done that for years, but I've also learned recently the sheer importance of this when it comes to achieving big shit.
Question: What is your vision and how does it push you through the tough days?
When you change your environment, you may find the tendency to get anxious or excited - or maybe both. The key to remember is that you don't change WHO YOU ARE just because you're in a different environment or situation. You are still you, no matter where you are or what is going on.
This might seem self-explanatory, but is still important to remember because in this new world of constant change and turmoil, we can experience different levels of stress due to these new "environments." All that is happening is your brain is reacting to something new it has never seen or experienced before, which naturally causes some confusion and anxiety.
How do you react to new environments or situations? With anxiety or excitement (or both)?

When it comes to choices - we all face a daily choice:
- Be comfortable and stay the same
- Get uncomfortable and be weird
It is very uncomfortable to be different and weird and "interesting" because most people these days don't accept that type of behavior. There will inevitably be people that persecute you, call you wicked, hate on you or straight ignore you when you decide to do something different.
The beauty in that is that it doesn't matter what they think - as long as you are living in your authentic truth and have nothing to hide, you have absolutely nothing to be sorry for.
Where in your life have you faded into the background by choosing to stay the same and how can you start to be different and weird again?
A system is any combination of elements that work together in harmony to achieve a single result. There can be simple or complex systems, but the common thread is that the entire system is dependent on all parts working together and playing their role.
Inside of the "system of your life" you can often become the weak link.
You try 100 different ways to lose weight but never can
You try to be more committed to your goals but never achieve them
You try all kinds of different apps, software tools and anything else you can think of, but nothing works
What is the constant weak link inside of all these examples? - You.
"You can be your own worst enemy, but you are also your greatest asset." - Dan Hafner
Where in your life are you constantly blaming something external for your lack of results, but ultimately it comes down to you being the weak link?
In the game of life, we all face this continual problem of constantly shifting priorities.
No matter where you live, what you do, who you are or what you're about - you will have this problem at some level at some point.
So how do you deal with this issue of constant fires, other people's issues, work projects and family life?
Write your priorities and tasks down BY HAND IN A JOURNAL OR ON A PIECE OF PAPER.
The power that comes with writing things out by hand is incredible. Yes - there are tons of digital resources out there in this day and age, but time after time I personally have found more production and meaning in writing my goals down by hand.
Maybe this approach isn't for you - but then again maybe you just need to try it out.
Check out the Full Focus Planner here.
Either choose to pay for something up front and pay less or pay more later. Most things in life cost less of paid for up front. Where in your life are you choosing to pay for things later rather than later.
The Titanic couldn’t miss that iceberg because it simply couldn’t turn on a dime. The dame is true in our lives. We think that we can get big and radical results by changing things and taking massive action, but the deeper truth is that it takes time to “right the ship” and change direction. Where in your life have you been trying to turn “on a dime” when instead you should be realizing it’s going to be more of a gradual turn?
It's absolutely insane how everything in life is connected in one way or another!
Think about it - where would you be in your life if you hadn't made the small decision to take that job, or meet that person, or go to that party, or adopt that dog, or buy that house?
The more I live, the more I see just how connected everything is, and how big of an impact the small decisions make on our larger-scale lives.
So - where in your life have you seen that everything is connected?
Ultimately - everything has an expiration date!
Going through something shitty? - Great! It won't last forever!
Going through something awesome? - Great! Enjoy it now because eventually it will end.
Everything in life will end at some point, which brings in this amazingly humble feeling to our ups and downs and feelings and everything in between.
Once you can accept the fact that nothing will last - not the success you've created nor the shitiness you've created - life becomes so much less stressful and chaotic.
Where in your life are you going through something good, and you need to slow down and appreciate that it won't last forever?
Also - where in your life are you going through something not so good and you just need to realize that you will make it out of the woods at some point?
The only way you’ll change to level-up the outputs (results) you’re getting in your life is to change the inputs. This might mean connecting to a different “source” of knowledge, inspiration or coaching.
Where in your life do you need to change the inputs you currently have?
Marketing is a dance. It is a seduction game within the mind.
The ultimate thing we all want is TO FEEL WANTED. No one feels wanted when they are told what to do, when to do it and why to do it. This is why people rebel against authority.
Marketing is different in that you are trying to COMPEL someone to do or get something with A FIRE in their heart and soul.
You can't manipulate, dictate or coerce. You must become a seductive player inside of this game in order to succeed.
Where in your life do you need to become a "marketer" instead of a "dictator?"
There is always some form of "excess energy" inside of your life that needs dealt with.
Your own body
A messy house
Ignoring and not dealing with this excess energy can lead to pent-up anger, frustration and even rage.
When the opportunity presents itself to let this energy out - take it. Find a way today to preempt that untimely release of energy through action.
Punch a pillow
Whatever it takes to deal with it in a healthy way
Trust me, you'll feel much better :)
Goal-setting sometimes doesn’t work the way you think it would work. You can’t just always measure your progress through milestones and the “I’ll get there someday” mentality. The best approach I’ve found is to just start being the version of you that you want to be now, today and in doing so you are automatically being the version of you that can pull off your goals.
You are selling yourself short at some level or another right now. There is success, money, love and purpose that you are leaving on the table, whether you realize it or not.
In my case, I didn't look as in-depth as I should for apartments and houses, but I also discovered that I have so much work to do in many areas of my life and that I could be achieving a much higher level of success everywhere.
Is the same true with you?
Where in your life is there "more" available than you think? What are you leaving on the table by choosing to slack off?
How do you respond when the heat and pressure "turns up" in your life? Do you crush it, or do you crumble underneath it?
Oftentimes we respond differently to different kinds of pressure and heat. Perhaps you buckle under the pressure of relationship "heat" but you crush the pressure of financial problems. Maybe you're a bad-ass when it comes to the pressure of overwhelming tasks at work but you can't handle the pressure of a simple sales call.
Where in your life do you:
1. Crush the pressure you face, and
2. Crumble under the pressure you face?
We all create fake stories out of nothing and cause ourselves anxiety. Yes, you also do this whether you think so or not.
In my case, the simple situation of forgetting a quarter for the shopping cart at Aldi sent me into this loop of stress and worry, when it ultimately was completely unfounded and ridiculous.
So, the question for you is this:
- Where in your life do you make up silly or fake stories, causing yourself unnecessary levels of anxiety and stress?
Everything imaginable is negotiable.
We all go through our lives and tend to accept things for the way they are. Sometimes we forget to question or challenge why something is the way it is. This could be a routine, a law, a rule, and way of doing things, etc. The bottom line is that these things shape our behaviors without us realizing it.
You might be leaving so much on the table without even realizing it. Negotiating is about both parties walking away with a better deal than before, so where in your life could you simply ask for more?
Where could you re-negotiate something that will serve you better or get you more of what you want?
When we think ahead constantly, it can lead to negative though loops, which are almost always destructive towards what we want.
The beautiful thing about a negative thought loop is that you have the power to stop it in its tracks, redirect the thought or feeling you're having and choose a different pattern. Now, this is much easier said than done.
Even though you can work on this and try to correct it in yourself over time, the thing I've realized is that they never end. The negative thought loops never end - but this shouldn't discourage you. They never end because there is never a shortage of situations in which these can crop up. But the important thing to remember is that when a negative thought loop is presented, it is also an opportunity for a positive thought loop as well.
Question: Where in your life do you recognize negative thought loops appear over and over?
Russell Brunson - know him? If you don't just Google him.
As it turns out, we use the same stuff to deploy and use our apps. NBD :)
Although this isn't earth-shattering information, it is significant because many of us have ideas or want to do things in life which we perceive as "risky" or "dumb" or "scary" when in reality it could be a REALLY GOOD IDEA.
Instead of following in the footsteps of giants, you could BE THE GIANT and allow people to follow your lead.
So - where in your life do you know you need to finally take that risk or jump into that "thing?"

Sometimes you think you're in the "fast lane" when you end up being passed by others in another lane. This happens in stores, on the highway, in jobs, etc. The problem isn't that you're being "passed" - the problem is that you compare.
We are all constantly comparing ourselves to arbitrary standards and lives of others on social media. "I don't have as nice of a car/house..." "I don't make as much money..." "Their life seems perfect!" Blah, blah, blah.
Ultimately, you are competing against no one but yourself every single day. The only person you should be comparing yourself to is you.
Where in your life have you been playing the comparison game and how has it affected your mood?
The smallest changes can lead to the biggest results!
Just as is the case inside of my rib being out of place, a small change in my posture removed nearly all the pain and course-corrects me back into a place of feeling better. The same can be true in your life. There is a small change that you can make, somewhere in your life, which will make a MASSIVE DIFFERENCE.
Where in your life is that small change needed?

There are things that seem “normal” to you, but only because you’ve been exposed to them more than other people. Someone else might have no idea what the hell youre talking about or doing, but it isn’t their fault. Where in your life are you expecting other people to rise to your level of knowledge or expertise, but they just aren’t there yet?
Once you learn to see it, clues for success are everywhere around you.
In the couple married for 60 years, in the successful business down the street, in the engaged parent next door to you, etc. Whatever you are trying to pursue or accomplish, you don't have to do it alone. There are others that have come before you, blazed the trail and have figured that game out. Take what they did and learn from it!
Don't copy, but model. How can you take what they've done and apply it into what you're doing? This is where modeling and taking action starts to get you bigger and bigger results because you're following in the footsteps of those who've proven it is possible.

With my lack of consistency inside of my allergy-prevention game, I manifested an out-of-place rib into my experience.
No, this is not fun. No, it is not enjoyable. But it is 100% my fault.
There is a very interesting pattern we see emerge inside of our lives when we apply consistency, or conversely when we withdraw consistency in an action. When consistency is maintained, results (usually positive) manifest. When consistency is removed, results (often negative) manifest.
The question becomes:
- Where in your life have you been implementing or removing consistency of habit and what results (good or bad) are you seeing due to this change?
We all have habits & routines that aren't serving us any longer. For me, getting out of bed seems to be a constant struggle to stay consistent with.
3 things to remember are:
1. Create structure in your life - a.k.a. timeblocking
2. Create context inside of that structure through to-do lists or hit lists
3. "First things first." Seems simple, but sometimes easy to forget.
Where in your life have you fallen into a routine or habit that you can't seem to stick with or isn't serving you any longer?

Just when you think all hope is lost and you're never going to get what you want...THAT'S WHEN IT HAPPENS!
How many times in life have you been on the verge of quitting, throwing in the towel, moving on to something else, etc., then all of a sudden it happens! The thing that you wanted to happen so bad actually did, and you're almost dumbfounded that it is reality.
The key is patience. Similar to the principle found in "3 Feet From Gold," you have to keep going and keep charging ahead because you never know how close to success you actually are.
We often think that "once we have the thing" - whatever that might be - everything gets easier after that. However, sometimes the upkeep is just as difficult and time-consuming as the original work it took to get "the thing."
Example: You climb a mountain, thinking the whole time it will be easier to walk down the other side. When you reach the top however, you soon realize the other side is full of more rocks and brush than you anticipated. As it turns out the other side of what you thought you wanted wasn't a walk in the park....
Daily question/challenge: How many metaphorical "mountains" have you climbed only to find that it wasn't what you truly wanted? Follow-up: What experience/knowledge did you gain just from the act of doing that thing?
In this crazy-ass COVID-19 world, there seem to be two extremes of opinion:
1. Wear a mask all the time
2. Don't wear a mask at all
Isn't it interesting how we find ourselves being judgemental, fearful and even hateful towards other people according to whether they are wearing a mask or not? I've noticed where I live in WV, many people are NOT wearing masks, and yet we are not having a widespread outbreak yet.
The most interesting piece of all this is that the entire thing seems to be one big social experiment in regards to masks. How to we treat each other? How do we respond to those not wearing masks. There are lots of interesting questions for reflection here.

Humans are creatures of habit. Plain and simple - this is a fact. What I'll have you consider is that the underlying stories in your own mind are the things truly driving your habits and behavior.
We are what we repeatedly do. We are also what we repeatedly think. Therefore, the thoughts you're having and the stories you're telling yourself are driving both the good and bad behaviors you exhibit.
For more information on habit-setting & breaking, here is a great resource: https://jamesclear.com/habits
Daily challenge: Identify one habit that you have in your life and list out the underlying stories that might be driving that behavior.
There will always be people who look, think and see things differently than you. No matter what path you go down, there will always be someone that thinks it is stupid, silly, wrong, wicked or clueless. Ultimately there is not much you can do about these people except to keep doing your thing.
On the other hand, there are always people who think you are awesome, great, innovative or inspiring. These are the people that add fuel to your journey. These are the ones to pay attention to.
Where in your life have you "gone a different way" or been "against the grain" and people have looked at you a certain way because of it? How can you put that to rest in your own mind by moving on from it and just accepting it for what it is?
Clutter in your life is confusing you. Yes, whether you'd like to admit it or not, the physical clutter you may not even see all around you is causing chaos in your life? How is this so?
A Distracted Mind is a Chaotic Mind. The more stimuli our brains deal with on a minute-by-minute basis, the less focused we can stay on one thing. This leads to constant distractions, which leads to less productivity, which leads to less happiness in general for most people.
So how do you fix it? Plain and simple- clean up your shit!
If your car is messy, clean it up!
If your house is messy, clean it up!
If your closet or kitchen or laundry room is messy, CLEAN IT UP!
Challenge: Find the physical clutter in your life and just commit the time and effort to clean it up - then see what happens to your mental state...
The Coronavirus lock-downs have given us an opportunity to focus on what is most important to us. Are you playing the victim card with this, or are you viewing it as an opportunity?
When it came to finding and closing my first customer for my development agency, it took 10x the time, money and effort than I originally planned. Perhaps that is the case with something in your life as well.
Where in your life do you need to do an "all-out blitz" and go harder, longer and faster than ever before to get a bigger and better result?
As always, check out runyourdaypodcast.com for more resources and information!
Is your outlook on life beginning to shrink and pressurize as the Coronavirus lock-down continues? If it seems like it will never end - trust me, it will eventually.
But there is an interesting thing that happens when there is pressure placed upon a system. Pressure causes things to shrink down to a smaller size. There is the same mass, but increased pressure.
So how do we relieve this pressure - BREATHE. Controlled breathing, meditation, walking - there are literally TONS of ways you can do this, but my recommendation is simple breathing.
Be sure to stay tuned for the new website and Run Your Day app coming soon!
Coronavirus is HERE and it is REAL. Now more than ever is the time when daily motivation, inspiration and perspiration is needed. Times are uncertain indeed, but when the chips are down, when the odds are long and hope seems to dwindle - it is in those moments that strength is born.
Moving forward, the Run Your Day podcast is going bigger, better and more in-depth than ever. With a new website AND A NEW APP coming soon, the incredible things we have to offer our listeners are going to blow your mind.
Hang in there, stay tough and don't let the day run you!
When you push your body physically, things change in other areas of your life for the better. Are you struggling in your career, stuck in a rut or need a reboot in your relationship? Trying getting your ass up early and working out!
When I was starting a new job, I got up at 4:30 every single day and did Insanity workouts every day for 30 days. Yes it sucked. No, it was not fun. But you know what happened? I launched my new career with an edge, make huge leaps forward and turned my life around within 30 days.
Trust me - get up early and workout. You'll thank yourself soon enough.
The past month has been an absolute roller-coaster, gut-wrenching and soul-searching month - but we kicked it's ass and we are back.
Note: The Run Your Day podcast will return on a weekly basis (possibly more) but will still be providing the same level of motivation and fire that it used to. Buckle up my friends!
I had the chance to have what I had wanted for months - the chance to start something new and go big. But I backed off, I didn't go for it and I didn't leap. Instead I bowed out like a little bitch. But you know what - it was better in the long run that I didn't go for it at that moment.
Where in your life have you stepped back from the ledge and not leapt into something, but learned that the timing was better by delaying?
So after I was suddenly unemployed and had no idea what to do, I managed to find a way to build structure into my life. I started what became the single-most powerful tool in my entire arsenal - my morning routine. As I started to workout again, meditate, fuel my body with smoothies and journal in a notebook, I noticed changes begin to happen, not only internally, but externally as well.
The more consistent you are with the things that you do - the bigger results you will have. - Consistency = growth.
After a while of being unfocused, unproductive and lacking results, my employer started to notice that I wasn't an asset to them any longer. I was literally forced to exit the company and spent 3 weeks afterwards mulling around my "business opportunity" but made no real progress. It was extremely difficult to be let go at this company and be without the "safety net" of a job to pay my bills. As a result, I went straight back to the safety net of my old job - the one I had previously quit.
Going your own way and doing your own thing in business requires a lot of letting go. You have to learn to let go of expectations, ego and all kinds of things. It is the only way that you can be open to receive whatever is coming to you.
As I pursued down this rabbit hole and started to do more of a deep-dive than ever before, I found different feelings arise within me about what I wanted. I wasn't sure how to handle some things I found about my reality and myself, which was very difficult. I discovered that something was "off" and I didn't want to be in my current job anymore. So I started the process of transitioning out and it happened very fast.
Ultimately, it takes time to figure out what you want and you have to go through this process alone. I can't tell you what you want - no one else can tell you what you want. You have to figure it out on your own - but there is help!
Head to www.runyourday.run and opt-into our mailing list and you can be among the first to get free access to the Run Your Day Membership program to end your isolation and get the support and guidance you need.
There has been a choice or decision you've made at some point in your life that has led to the "rabbit hole" that you are currently experiencing. Whatever it is and whatever area of your life it is within, the important thing to realize is that it was YOUR CHOICE to go that direction. Not anyone else - YOU.
So, with that in mind, what rabbit hole are you currently down and can you identify why you ended up down this path?
I remember vividly sitting on the couch wondering how in the hell my life had become what it had become. Lost, drifting, no purpose or direction. Maybe you've been there, maybe you haven't.
The ultimate lesson I learned from that experience: RADICAL CHANGE REQUIRES RADICAL OWNERSHIP. Once you start to get comfortable with owning the facts of your life and where you are TODAY - the easier radical change becomes because you are moving forward on a foundation of reality, not fantasy.
Where in your life are you in need of radical ownership?
The Run Your Day podcast moving forward is going to be spicy, interesting and EXTREMELY VALUABLE. Buckle up for the ride of the past 18 months as we dive deep into the life, the mind and the overall growth of host Dan Hafner. Dan leaves it all out for you to hear, consume, analyze and learn from.
I used to drive very conservatively and would take things very easy. What I never realized was how this bled over into my mentality of always forgoing what I wanted in life. The mire I’ve started to drive aggressively, the more I’ve started to make bigger moves in my life and business. Where in your life do you need to start adopting the “attack” mentality and apply it daily?
Using coupons to get discounts at the store is a great idea - just don’t get used to using them in real life. There is no “coupon” to shortcut success and nothing that is going to ultimately pay the price for you. That my friend - is up to you to pay. Where in your life do you have the “coupon mentality?”
I can't tell you how many times in my life I ended up chasing overly-complicated things when all I needed to do what simplify the living hell out of whatever I was doing. I stressed myself out, caused un-needed anxst and all kinds of other self-imposed things - but never realized that all I had to do was simplify.
You are better off doing something simply and doing it better than you are doing something complicated and doing it half-ass.
Where in your life do you just need to simplify?
Imagine what your life would be become if you took the time to slow down and review things every Sunday? Imagine coming to the end of another week and knowing that you actually moved your life and career forward with purpose and momentum. A weekly review is the single greatest routine I’ve put in place in my life and what has changed it the most. Try a weekly review and plan for yourself and just see where you are in one month.
You can gain all the information in the world. You can commit to studying everything and anything you can get your hands on - but all of it is worthless without execution and implementation.
Where in your life have you become a pure consumer of information without actually executing it?
Time lag is real! There is both a "front-facing" time lag and "back-facing" time lag.
Backwards: The seeds you plant today you will reap down the road. When? Who knows - but it will likely be several months at least.
Forwards: Always being forward-thinking in your own mind creates a constant results-oriented time lag where your current reality will not align with your future expectations. And it's not supposed to! That is the point!
Where do you suffer from time lag, either backwards or forwards?
You're either going forwards or you're going backwards. There is no neutral gear in life. When you wake up in the morning, you either hit the ground running or you start falling behind. One of the big problems with this world today is that we all look on our cell phones first thing when we wake up, or we turn on the news or go straight to social media and without even realizing it, we place ourselves in a negative mindset off the bat.
Does this sound condusive to an environment in which you can "run your day?" - No
How can you be better about getting yourself out of neutral?
Different things lead to different things. There is a current world view that holds your mind captive to the way a certain thing works or what “it should be.” In the end, everything that exists today does because someone, somewhere had the bold idea to make it happen despite what anyone thought.
Expectations are a dangerous thing. Learning to be ok with yourself and your current status in life - regardless of how ugly or dissatisfying it is - comes down to a choice you make to adopt that mentality. Where in your life do you just need to be happy with the results you have manifested, but also start pushing for more?
Ever watch the Lion King? Of course you have - that's a stupid question. Remember when Simba eats the bugs under the log and Timone says "Slimy, yet satisfying?" That is how life is sometimes.
Sometimes you have to put up with the slimy shit in order to get the satisfaction out of the work you are doing. The result doesn't always show up the way you imagined it, and the work to get there isn't always glamorous. But hey, if it were easy - everyone would do it, right?
What "slimy" part of your world do you need to embrace more?
Ultimately, you can't go anywhere in life if you aren't willing to get radically clear about where you are. If you ignore the facts of what IS for you, the place you say you are going is a fantasy. It is pure bull shit.
I lived in the land of fantasy for a lot of years looking back, but the process of getting super clear in my life across all of my domains gave me the opportunity to move forward based on a foundation of truth and power.
Where in your life do you need to get super clear and be real about the facts you are facing?
Sometimes it's ok to take a day off or stop pushing towards something. This might seem counter-intuitive to what I talk about every day, but the reality is that no one can be "on" all the time. There is an ebb & flow to life that must be respected or you will burn yourself out before you even get started.
It's not about hustling all the time, but it's not about relaxing all the time either. It is about finding that balance that works for you and is respectable to everyone else in your life.
Our temporary homepage is: https://www.runyourday.run/optin
Listen to this episode as many times as you need to. Listen when you are thinking about quitting, getting depressed or can't see a way out. Listen when the negative voices are too loud. Listen when you have no other people around you to give encouraging words.
Just don't ever stop going.
Ultimately, there is a lot of confusion that happens in our lives. Confusion happens within every single area whether we want it to or not.
The key to overcoming this confusion is to finally reach a level of clarity in your life.
Many of us in the younger generation have been so confused by what we are supposed to get out of life. We were taught, trained and educated to go to college, get the job and eventually pay off debt, but that approach simply doesn't cut it anymore. Not only is more schooling pursued, but additional debt and larger circumstances are taken on to compensate for this lack of income and increase in global competition.
Question: What area of your life are you most confused in and how can you start getting clear on what you need to do in that area specifically?

Choosing to pull something that is "not urgent" but extremely important to you into the Urgent category of your life can be a GAME-CHANGER! What would you do if you COULD NOT FAIL? IF YOU HAD NO CHOICE! You would ensure that all the "fluff" was cut out of your schedule and only the important, high-value actions were being taken to achieve that Urgent and Important goal.
What is one thing you can pull into the Urgent and Important category of your life and make more more important than anything right now?
The entire basis behind the RunWage app is to place leverage in front of you in order to achieve something. It is amazing what we humans are capable of when given an "impossible" task to accomplish. Whether the leverage you find is time-based, money-based, guilt-based or something else, it all works in the same way: it holds you accountable to something that you weren't originally making a priority.
Where in your life can you find leverage to place in front of yourself in order to get something you've been wanting?
I've never been one to take failure well, and I usually beat myself up more than I need to about it. One thing I learned from a recent situation - it's not always your fault. Although the majority of blame or fault might be on you for messing something up, there are often external factors that come into play and sometimes things just aren't meant to be.
Where in your life are you not dealing with disappointment well and what can you change about how you view it?
The reality you are living in right now is a result of the actions you took 6 months ago, 1 year ago, etc. Simultaneously, the results you want six months, 1 year, 5 years from now are a result of the seeds you are planting today. Similar to an echo, there isn't an immediate payoff in the form of success when actions are taken. You just have to keep going, keep your foot on the gas and never slow down.
Question: Where in your life have you stopped "planting seeds" and how has that affected your reality? Also, where can you start "planting seeds" now in order to enjoy the fruit of those in the future?
Ever hit that "wall" or obstacle time after time and just say "I just can't with this today?" Whether it's a situation, a person or something else, we all have these things come up in our daily lives. The best way around this is to simply as the question "why" over and over until you get to the bottom of this situation.
Example: "I can't get out of bed and workout at 5:00 in the morning." Why?
- "Because I like to sleep in." Why?
- "I stay up late playing video games." Why?
- "I don't have much else outside of my online interactions to occupy me." Ok - now we are getting somewhere.
Challenge: The next time you have a situation in which you find yourself saying, "I just can't" try asking "why" over and over until you get to the bottom of it.
Using the power of social leverage can be a powerful motivator for accomplishments and change. The second you declare something to someone else, it becomes more than just an idea in your head. It becomes a reality that you have to follow through on.
Challenge: Boldly declare something in your life and either post it on social media, text or call a friend, or find another way to get an idea out of your head and into the mind of another.
Imagine the prospectors heading out to California for the gold rush of the 1800s. Working day-in and day-out, yet coming up with nothing. The real gold however, isn't found in the obtaining of money, new clients, new careers, whatever it may be for you....but rather it is found in the internal struggle and grind we all go through. The real gold can be found by putting yourself to the test, day after day after day.
Where in your life do you need to dig deeper to find the real gold?
Self-awareness is a skill you must develop in order to see reality through a fog of haziness. The more acutely intent you can be on your feelings, thoughts and actions, the more you will be able to course-correct and rest when things aren’t working. Where in your life do you need to pull back instead of just keep ineffectively pushing?
Despite the losses you might be experiencing, despite the slump you might be in, all it takes is one small victory to break out of that funk you might be in. The hardest part is keeping your faith and belief through the tough times, but no one ever won by quitting. Where in your life are you just one win away from changing the game?
"The more things change, the more they stay the same."
Although change can be scary and uncomfortable, it is a constant in life.
Where in your life are things staying the same and you know you need to take an action that will cause the change you are desiring?
We all need some form of support somewhere in our lives. Although it may be awkward or uncomfortable to ask for and find that support, you know it is needed to better yourself. Where in your life do you know you need support and what can you do to start getting that support where you need it?
We all carry around some form of baggage, whether mental or emotional. Consider the possibility of how you would feel and what your new reality would contain if you could let that baggage go once and for all...
Scarcity: only having what you need
Abundance: having all that you need and what you want
Where in your life are you stuck in scarcity and how can you move towards abundance and getting what you actually want out of the situation?
Hint: Stop working for only what you need.
1. What do you want? You must be super clear on what you are actually trying to achieve.
2. Why do you want it? Most importantly, you must know WHY you are even bothering to do this in the first place.
3. How will you get it? You need a plan and you need to execute on that plan.
4. When will you get it? You need to give yourself a time-crunch in which to achieve this goal or you will perpetually kick the can down the road.
M = Must/Mandatory - Whatever it is you are doing, it must become a non-negotiable thing despite all the other things you have going on.
A = Action - You need to be able to take clear, black & white actions towards accomplishing your goal or you will drift into oblivion.
K = Keys - Think through the key things and/or distractions you will need to overcome in order to accomplish this goal on time.
E = Expectations - We all can have lofty or ambitious goals for things at first, but come back to reality for a second and set a more realistic vision of what this will look like when it is done.
Where in your life can you M.A.K.E. something happen?
We all have a wall or hurdle in our life that is not only holding us back, but is likely holding others back as well. The first one through the wall bears the brunt of the work, toil, sweat and burdens. However, this opens up a window through the wall that others can follow through. Where is this wall and your life and can you be the first one to break through?
There are two schools of thought: growth can happen slowly over time or all at once in huge leaps and bounds. Through my experience, I’ve found that it is usually a mixture of both. The biggest changes in terms of volume are a result of incremental change, but some of the most impactful changes come from punctuated events. Where in your life are you going through incremental change and where are you going through punctuated change?
We all can respond differently to feedback whether it is positive or negative. Think about a heat-seeming missle: it works solely on constant feedback in order to reach its target and wouldn’t be able to do anything without that feedback. Question: Where in your life are you getting too high and too low?
Sometimes things just seem to line up, work out and everything seems to be finally clicking....then its not. You missed the boat, an opportunity or something in your life fell through. I get it - it happens. The important thing to remember is that there will be another boat if you continue to keep your head down, do the work and keep up your belief that another boat will come along.
"Success is moving from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm." - Winston Churchill
Where in your life have you "missed the boat" and are you keeping up your belief that you can make another one come along?
Why do we continually do the things we do? Why do we even bother to get out of bed some day?
1. Why do you even bother to continue to do something that no longer serves you?
2. How can you course-correct yourself and start changing your habits or actions to start doing something else that actually serves you?
There is something in your life right now that you can do which was IMPOSSIBLE to you only a short time ago. By working at it every day and slowly improving, you were able to figure out how to become better at it. What was once impossible to you is now "easy."
Where in your life is there something that you can appreciate and give yourself credit for conquering? Something that was once impossible for you to do that is now easy?
We learn more by teaching since it reinforces the information we absorbed into our minds on a deeper level. The simple act of speaking what you learned to another or writing the information down can be among the most powerful ways to learn. Where in your life could you learn something on a deeper level by simply teaching the concept to someone else?
When you are 30-40 feet underwater, you can’t just pop to the surface, reset everything and start fresh. You have to figure out how to fix whatever the issue is from where you are. The same is true in our lives. Where in your life do you find yourself flailing about everywhere and not taking the time to figure out how to fix the issue from where you currently are?
When Dan was Scuba-diving in Jamaica, he had to overcome a long-standing fear in his mind about being underwater, childhood ear infections and a host of other things that were only in his head! Where in your life is there FEAR (false evidence appearing real) and you can finally overcome it by taking action or learning something new to remove the uncertainty surrounding that fear?
There is always a daily or weekly lull we all hit and it can smack us in the face pretty hard. The problem many of us face is that we have no mitigation strategy in place to course-correct and power through the lull. Where in your life is this “lull” or “wall” and what kind of plans can you put in place to mitigate them and use it as an accelerant rather than an obstacle?
We are back friends! Although your beloved show host had a brief absence while sipping drinks on the coast of Jamaica, he is back and more focused than ever! Be sure to stay tuned for updates regarding the upcoming Run Your Day Studio app coming this Memorial Day!
We all can fall into the “shiny object” trap and constantly think that the next thing, tool or person will fill the void of unhappiness or failure. The problem is that newer things aren’t always better, but better things aren’t always new. Where in your life is there something (a person, possession, etc.) that is old and can be made new again in order to find added and renewed value?
We all have that little negative voice inside of us that discourages, manipulates and deceives us from time to time. The trick is to stop allowing that voice to influence your decision-making and habits. Write down 1 thing you are grateful for, happy about or excited about today and see how it makes you feel.
We all have done things in our life that were once literally impossible for us to achieve. Brushing your teeth, riding a bike, swimming, etc. Those things were literally impossible for us to achieve at one point, but they are now second-nature to us. There are things in your life right now that you can achieve that you think are impossible.
1. Write down 3 things in your life that are now easy that were once IMPOSSIBLE for you.
2. Now write down 3 things in your life that are impossible for you to achieve, but you want them to become easy in your future.
I'll talk more about how to make these things easier in a future episode...
Imagine a world in which we were all exactly the same. Same age, same looks, same goals, same job, same clothes, etc. Can you imagine how bland and boring such a world would be?
We are each given individual and special talents, gifts, personalities and traits. It is up to you to allow those to flow through you and become who you were truly meant to be.
Where in your life are you filtering yourself or not being the authentic version of you? How can you start changing that? (Hint: just start telling the truth to everyone!)
Regardless of starting a good habit or kicking a bad one, once a new habit is created it can change your life completely. What was once difficult for you will become easy. What was once IMPOSSIBLE can become possible.
Where in your life are you lacking the discipline required to start a good habit or delete an old one? What can you start doing today to develop that discipline? (HINT: just begin).
Whether you love him or hate him, you have to respect Tiger Woods. It has been 14 years since he won the Masters (or a major) and to do what he has done after all that he has been through personally, you have to give credit to his mentality and will to win.
Despite the doubters, despite the adversity, despite the long road full of obstacles and roadblocks, he kept going and never stopped believing he would be back.
Where in your life could you adopt this unshakable mindset of a champion? What is one thing you can do today to turn inwards and find how much you have left in the tank?
We all can have a tendency to ignore the warning signs in our lives. We see a train coming, but we continue to sit down on the metaphorical tracks as if it isn't coming. Why do we continue to just sit there and not move out of the way?
Where in your life are you ignoring the warning signs of an impending "train" that is coming and how can you start to get out of the way?
We all run into situations in our lives when we suddenly think that everything is falling apart and nothing will ever work out. When those times happen, remember this:
"Your life isn't falling apart, it is falling into place."
Where in your life have you had a situation in which you have thought the sky is falling, but you ultimately ended up overcoming the obstacle and it wasn't that big of a deal?
If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Without some form of structure and tactical plan to achieve a goal, all you have is an irrelevant wish.
If you are looking for some help in this area, check out the Full Focus Planner and the Free to Focus book by Michael Hyatt. Both of these tools are awesome in terms of achieving more while doing less and setting up a tactical plan for you to achieve the things you truly want to achieve.
Question/Challenge: Where in your life are you failing to plan, and this is causing you to be scattered and all over the place with your focus? Identify that area and then find a way to get re-focused on your next step to get back on track today.
We can all find ourselves in weird positions from time to time, and it is usually a result of telling ourselves a story over and over and over until it just becomes our truth. The thing about this is that we can eventually start lying to ourselves over and over because this situation may no longer serve us in a way that is useful to us any longer. So how to do you figure out if you are in a weird position?
Take a step back and simply ask yourself, "Is this situation or story I am telling myself still true?"
It truly can be that simple my friends.
Where in your life do you find yourself in a "weird position" and is the surrounding story about it still true?
Situations in life will be less than ideal. Conditions will never be perfect. It is our attitude towards those things that determines our perspective. Once you learn to "embrace the suck" and just become happy with the fact that you are in a bad situation, the entire perspective on the situation can change instantly. All of a sudden, you are no longer a victim. Weird how that works...
Where in your life are you not embracing the suck?
Although you may think that no one is noticing the hard work you are putting in or the sacrifices you are making, I bet you’re wrong. There is always someone that notices when we make changes, whether good or bad.
When you are tired, exhausted and tapped out, you are only giving about 40% of your maximum effort. There is always something left in the tank. You just have to be able to find it and tap into it.
Where in your life are you running into a place where you know you have more left in the tank?
There are two choices you have when confronted with a loss or a setback: pack it in and go home or double-down and go harder. Where in your life (either now or previously) have you been subjected to a loss or a setback, and how did you (or can you) move forward instead of calling it quits?
Two things I've learned since starting the Run Your Day podcast:
1. Fear isn't real and is just a creation of your mind. Start something, even if you aren't ready for it.
2. Consistency is king. Just doing something, even if it isn't good, is better than doing nothing at all.
Where in your life do you need to just do something, even if you aren't ready for it?
We all fight a daily and constant battle with ourselves inside of our own minds. Do you constantly feee your hopes and dreams or do you constantly feed you fears and doubts? One week challenge: be conscious of your thoughts and see if you are feeding your positive side or negative side more.
It is so easy to hang onto old beliefs, thought patterns and things that no longer serve us. It can be terrifying to let go of security and head into the unknown, but doing so is required in order to ever experience growth. Where in your life are you choosing to hang onto something, refusing to let go and denying yourself growth?
"It's never as good as you think and it's never as bad as you think."
If you think something in your life is awesome, chances are there are areas in which you can improve. If something isn't great in your life, it usually isn't as bad as you think it is.
Where in your life is something either not as good as you think or not as bad as you think, and what can you start doing to change that perspective?
What is your normal process when you hit an obstacle in life? Do you see it as "negative" or "positive" stress? Do you cut and run or do you choose to stand and fight?
Resilience is the ability to keep coming back from failure, setbacks or losses. It is the internal ability to keep going, keep pushing and maintain belief that something is possible, even in the face of overwhelming odds.
Where in your life are either being resilient or not being resilient? What is something you can do today to start building up your resiliency?
We all have preferences, hobbies and interests that change over time, and that is ok! The key is recognizing that you don’t have to feel bad about not keeping the same interests over your entire life. Humans change and so do you!
At some point, you’ll realize how off-course you are from where you originally planned to go. That’s ok! Figure out where you are, figure out where you want to go and take the first step towards correction. You can’t do it all at once!
Whether it is a physical weight or a mental weight, you are carrying something around in your life that is slowing you down and messing up your progress. Imagine what could be possible for you if you were able to let this weight go...
Personal integrity: either you have it or you don't. It can be very difficult to live your life in strict accordance with your core beliefs, values and principles, but it is also very rewarding once you are able to pull that life off. We tend to say one thing and do another, which kicks us out of integrity with ourselves.
Where in your life are you not living and acting in integrity?
Finding your purpose in life is a difficult process and if you haven't found it yet, don't fret. Here are three things you can start doing today to find it:
1. Identify your strengths: Make a list of things you are even reasonably good at (even weirdly good at) and think about how those help you align with yourself.
2. Identify your passion: Nelson Mandela said, "There is no passion in living small; in choosing a life that is less than what you are capable of." We are all leaving time, money, effort and results on the table, but doesn't always have to be the case.
3. Find out where you can add value: What kinds of problems are you best at solving? Where can you take your strengths and passions and funnel them towards helping certain people or building awesome things to help someone get a real result?
Where in your life are you leaving the most on the table, and what can you start doing to take some of those results off the table and put back into your life?
Being self-assertive means allowing the authenticity of who you are to shine through and project out onto the world. It isn't acting one way around a certain set of people and then acting a completely different way around someone else. The more authentic you are at all times, the less stories and lies you have to remember.
Dilemmas appear all the time in life that will test your assertiveness and who you truly are as a person. Unless you are very clear on who you are, what you believe and where you are going, you will be swept away in the craziness of life and never be able to take a stand for anything at all.
Where in your life are you not being self-assertive and just planting your feet in the ground?
Once you can get to the point where you have 100% responsibility for your life and your outcomes, you enter a place in which your self-esteem can rise and expand beyond where you thought it was possible to go. Self-responsibility is something that can be tricky, but falling into the trap of the "blame-game" is poison, not only to you, but to those around you as well.
Part 2/6: A thing only becomes a thing once you make it a thing. Imagine if you walked around all day long with a zit on your forehead, but had no idea. All of a sudden you realize it, then it becomes so embarrassing because you are conscious and aware of it. The same is true with the rest of you: accepting you is about accepting the flaws and all. You should always be striving for more, but you need to be ok with yourself in this moment before you are able to grow elsewhere.
Part 1 of 6: Living consciously requires a keene attention to how we spend our time and focus our thoughts. Just as the "Run Your Day" show constantly preaches, we must learn how to control our days and lives, not allow them to control us.
Don't default into the day. Seize it!

Are you married to the process or are you married to the result? Hint: if you keep doing the same things over and over and they no longer serve you towards reaching your goal, you are married to the process instead of the result. Where in your life can you start being more married to the result?
Although we all can become serial procrastinators from time to time, procrastination can lead to ill-conceived ideas and a whole bunch of other undesirable outcomes.
The first step to overcoming procrastination is to identify "the frog" or excuses that are holding you back from taking action and just eliminate that thing right now. Action crushes doubt and uncertainty.
The second step is to be less busy. Although we all have many different things going on in our lives at once, it is easy to forget that being busy isn't the same as being productive. Being busy is another form of procrastination, but is hidden from us because we feel like we are being productive.
Where in your life do you need to identify your excuses and crush them right away, and then how can you take steps to become less busy and more productive?
You don't have to carry around the weight of the past anymore. Kick that stuff to the curb because it doesn't serve you any longer.
Holding onto extra "weight" in your life can slow you down, cause unneeded stress and anxiety, keep you from making decisions and lead to stupid actions in all areas of your life.
Here are 4 ways to start shedding extra "weight" in your life:
1. Stop feeling sorry for yourself
2. Stop investing all of your thinking in the past.
3. Start focusing on today.
4. Forgive yourself for the mistakes you have made.
Where in your life can you incorporate one of these things and start to shed some extra "weight" today?
"Glossy surfaces reflect more than they reveal."
- David Goggins
There are a lot of fake things on social media these days and it can wear a person down if they let it. NO, we are not all perfect, NO we do not all have our shit figured out. We are all humans that are simply being on this Earth, figuring things out as we go. Don't try to act like you are perfect, because you aren't.
Where in your life are you portraying a "glossy surface" and what is it reflecting back to you about yourself?
"Give me six hours to cut down a tree and I will spend the first four hours sharpening the axe." - Abraham Lincoln
Problem: Many of us skip out on our preparation time. We just dive head-first into things without being prepared.
Possibility: We can become more prepared than anyone around us and actually achieve more in life by taking the time to "sharpen our axe" and better prepare ourselves.
Path: 1. Take the time out to find a space in which you can think and plan. 2. Take your big goal and break it into bite-sized pieces. 3. Take action on the first thing right away.
Challenge Question: Where in your life are you not taking the time to "sharpen the axe" and how is it costing you more time or results?
"Action dissipates uncertainty."
- Dan Hafner
The next time something goes sideways in your life and you aren't sure about the immediate steps to fix it, try this four-part process to fix it in less than 5 minutes:
1. Stop and breathe. Gather yourself, your thoughts and your feelings
2. Assess the situation. It is difficult to move forward without knowing exactly where you are or what is going on.
3. Determine the endpoint. You need to get clear on what you want or how you will fix whatever is happening so you can measure success.
4. Take the first action. What is it that you can do right now to start doing something in your control to fix whatever is going on (there is always something you control!)

We all tell ourselves sneaky little lies that ultimately force us down a path of not getting us what we want. Once we learn to tell the truth to ourselves, our entire world can change. You can start giving yourself what you truly want through two avenues:
1. Telling the truth
2. Taking actions that aren't lies or driven by lies
Where in your life are you betraying yourself and not giving yourself what you want? What can you start doing today to stop betraying yourself?
Relationships are similar to a bank account balance in that the balance is either positive or negative. Many of us face this problem of making constant withdrawals - negative words, time away, not helping out, ignoring the other, etc. Imagine what could be possible for your relationship if you made daily deposits into it every single day, just as you would a bank account?
Over time, if you learn to build up the account through small, consistent deposits, you will realize a monumental shift in the way that relationship works.
In what ways have you been making withdrawals, but need to start making regular deposits into a relationship, and how can you go about that today?
There will always be others more qualified or knowledgable than us, but there will always be people that are less qualified than us. Either way, don't depreciate your own value and knowledge in whatever area you have authority in. You can always help those slightly behind you.
Where in your life are you self-depreciating your value or knowledge and how can you start actually spreading that value to others?
You are more than the thoughts and feelings you carry around with you all day. You are you, a genuine human being with normal everyday problems.
Close your eyes, picture a big bonfire in front of you, gather up your negative thoughts (and feelings) and cast them in to the fire to watch them burn.
I promise you, the feeling you will get on the other side of this experience is magical.
Chasing a target in your life is similar to going down the highway: there are exits every few miles that give you the opportunity to divert or to "quit." Being able to stay focused on what you are doing, staying the course and perserving through these opportunities to quit is taking the path less traveled.
The majority of people take the easy-way out when it is presented to them. They take the path more traveled. The minority of people will take the path less traveled - the difficult path. Although it may be filled with opportunities to quit along the path, don't take them.
Where in your life are you seeing opportunities to quit and taking those opportunities instead of just allowing them to pass by?
Are you willing to pay the bigger Cost of something down the road instead of paying the price for it today? This can apply to your fitness, a relationship, a coaching program, etc. The cost of NOT doing something is often much greater than the price of doing it today.
Where in your life are you willing to pay the cost but not the price?
"Learning and information is completely useless without real and consistent application." - Dan Hafner
If you are consistently learning and studying something every day, that knowledge becomes completely useless unless you are applying it consistently. Information overload in our society is very easy to accomplish, but it is also very easily avoidable if you are allowing relevant content to enter your mind.
Filling up the cup is not only about applying the information you are learning towards yourself and your personal goals, but is also about filling up another's cup with that shared knowledge and teaching. Once you begin to share information with others and start to teach, an entirely new world opens up to you.
What can you do today to fill someone's cup up?
Part 3 of 5: Take the time to study and read every single day! Instead of spending mind-numbing hours a day scrolling through your Facebook feed or watching the newest Netflix documentary, take the time to invest in your mind and your learning.
How much further ahead in life would you be if you dedicated all the time you spend on Facebook towards reading instead?
Challenge: Find a book and read for 5 minutes ( not a novel!)
If you get into the habit of sweating every single morning, your life will drastically change. Many of us just "slug around" and don't get our day started off right. We instead just roll out of bed, stare at our phone for a half hour and then rush through traffic to work.
What if you were able to start a morning progression that would change your life and get you the results that you have been wanting for so long? Head over to my new coaching page at the link below and check it out.

It's not a debate: it's collision. Colliding with another person or yourself creates the space for creation to be possible. Things aren't always black and white.
Internalizing feelings and things that hold us down ultimately holds us back. It is only through the process of getting those things out into the open and colliding with someone else to hear their opinion that we grow.
Find someone today (or challenge yourself) and collide with them about something. Don't argue or get into a fight, just collide and challenge.
Eventually, you must learn to leverage your anger within yourself for not achieving the results you desire. It is impossible for anyone to externally motivate you for a long period of time. You and only you can create the leverage inside of yourself needed to experience the true results you are capable of.
Where in your life are you not getting angry about your lack of results and where do you need to start getting angry?
There is obsession and there is possession. Obsession with something will get you what you want, but possession by something will get you there even faster. When you become someone "possessed" by your mission and your purpose, there is literally nothing that can stand in your way of achieving your goal.
Where in your life are you needing to become "possessed" by your goal or purpose and how would that lead you to quicker results?
Impostor syndrome is this: our innate unwillingness to be selfish and take or accept what we are truly deserving of. When was the last time someone offered you money for something you did out of the kindness of your heart and you turned it down to be "nice." That is impostor syndrome shining through!
What was the last situation in your life you can recall this "impostor syndrome" shining through and what can you do next time to not allow that to happen? (Hint: be a little more selfish ;)
If you are taking consistent actions towards your targets and goals every day, the results you are seeking are simply inevitable. It can be easy to despair, give up or lose hope when you aren't seeing the results you want. Stay focused, keep taking action and the results will find you.
What is one thing in your life that you know you need to keep taking consistent action towards in order to achieve the results that you know are inevitably coming to you?
The stories we tell ourselves constantly shape our reality, whether the stories are consciously told or unconsciously told. Learn to take a step back, recognize the facts of the situation or story you are telling yourself and then analyze the situation from another perspective.
What is one "sneaky little story" that you have been telling yourself that you need to take a step back from and analyze it from a different angle?
In his book "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People," Steven Covey breaks down all of our daily tasks into two categories: important and urgent. If you are constantly doing things that are not important and not urgent (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, etc) instead of the things that are Important and Not Urgent (business tasks, working out, meditating, cleaning your home, etc), you will eventually burn yourself out.
What is one Important and Non-Urgent thing you are committed to completing today?
Imagine you are on a deserted island all alone and there is a title wave rushing straight for you and you only have 1 hour to figure out how to survive and get off the island...
The situations you are thinking of right now are only a result of the current way of thinking that you are capable of in this moment. We all exist inside of our own "container" or "box," inside of which we normally cannot escape. Once we are faced with such a pressure situation however, we often find that we are much more capable than we think and we can "stretch" our container and capabilities.
What can you do to start stretching your container?
The "Zander Zone" was a place where Zander Cage from the movie XXX created to be his zone of craziness, boldness and fierceness. We can all create our own "zone" of at any time.
How can you start to cultivate a mindset similar to the Zander Zone and how would that help you navigate your day?
It is very easy to neglect your physical and mental need for recovery at times. Consider the possibility that taking time out of your day and week to focus on recovery could be just the ticket to you accelerating faster during the time in which you are grinding and growing....
Where in your life are you not taking time to rest and recover and how can you start implementing that in at least one area of your life?
If you aren't creating a specific plan for yourself, you are setting yourself up for a lack of results. Once something "urgent" comes along, you are much more suceptible to be distracted and unfocused.
Three things are needed to setup a plan:
1. Figure out what you did
2. Determine where you want to go
3. Breakdown into bit-sized steps what it will take to get there
Where in your life are you failing to plan, and how is it affecting the results you are getting?
It's amazing how we as humans can give off subtle, often unconscious signals to those around us and not even realize it. Whether we know it or not, we are doing this all day every day and it affects the energy that is manifested back into our lives.
What do you now realize that you do to "tune out" or give off a vibe to the world that is reflected in your results?
There may be some area of your life in which you feel unworthy. Maybe you feel unworthy of your body, of your job or maybe you feel unworthy of love. I'll have you consider that you are more worthy than anyone of whatever you are feeling unworthy of!
Where in your life do you feel unworthy of something, but in reality you are the most deserving person for whatever it is?
Think about it: did you ever get better at something by ignoring it? You only improve on your weaknesses when you push through the awkwardness of them, not be afraid to fail, and become comfortable with being uncomfortable.
When I started this podcast, I was terrible at speaking. Through reps every day and listening to myself, I'm able to improve slowly but surely and become better. The same is true with you.
Challenge: Identify a weakness in your life today and figure out how to get uncomfortable with it to improve.
Facing the difficult and deep, suppressed truth about ourselves can be one of the hardest things to do. It takes time to reveal the true authenticity of who you are and what you are capable of.
But I promise you, the deeper you are willing to dig inside of yourself to find the authentic you, THE BIGGER YOUR RESULTS WILL BE!
We all can fall into negative self-talk habits and allow our thoughts to run rampant with doubt and fear. We do however have the innate power to purge those negative thoughts and move into a place in which we fill our minds with nothing but positive and motivating thoughts.
It can be difficult to do, but try to analyze your thoughts today. Are they mostly positive or negative?
Our paradigm is the lens through which we view the world. Everyone's paradigm is different.
What do you believe about yourself moving into 2019? It is a very difficult question to answer, but one that you must be honest with yourself about.
It's 2019! Woo-hoo let's get after it! Let's slow down there cowboy.
The reason most people burn out so fast in their New Year's resolutions is because they try to change everything all at once. Play the long game, not the sprinting game. It's ok to mess things up. Just because you mess up once doesn't mean it's over. Course-correct, get back on the horse and keep going!
We all have moments as we go through life that define us. What a shame it could be to have our moment appear for us and find us unprepared to seize it....
What could be your moment in 2019 and how can you start to prepare for it?
We all have 24 hours in a day, but how we choose to spend those 24 hours determines our success. Simplicity in what you do is the key to being more effective and efficient. Where in your life do you feel like you don’t have enough time and what can you sacrifice in order to make time for it?
Often times we think we have to do things on our own. Our pride can stand in the way of our progress, which can lead to stagnation when we hit a roadblock.
Asking for help (or allowing unsolicited help) can be difficult to do for some of us, but it could be just what the doctor ordered in regards to the overcoming of roadblocks.
"Don't talk, just act. Don't say, just show. Don't promise, just prove."
Where in your life do you know you need help, but aren't willing to just seek it out?
When You Start Rising
There are two different types of feedback you will get from people when you begin to rise:
Those who are afraid to try themselves and
Those who are afraid to see you succeed.
Both kinds of people can be toxic influences on your life and need to be taken with a grain of salt.
When you begin your rise in 2019, always remember that there are haters everywhere you look, but the amount of control you allow them to have over you is completely up to you.
The very best gifts this holiday season are one of two things:
1. Handmade gifts (duh, everyone loves these)
2. Gifts that you didn't even know you needed until you received them
We can become so caught up in ourselves and our own struggles throughout the year that it can be difficult to see our lives from a different perspective. It is often easier for someone that spends time around us to recognize something we need in our lives and selflessly provide that gift for us to use and grow.
How can you give someone a gift that they didn't even know they needed?
Be sure to check us out on Facebook and visit our website as well!
Run Your Day
It is easy to allow the negativity of the world to seep into our minds and cause us to feel pessimistic, uncertain and down. Your responsibility is to not allow that negativity to keep leaking into your mind!
Where in your world are you not confident? Your body, relationship, career... How can you start to rack up small wins that will allow you to start gaining that confidence and swagger back?!
"Once you have accepted all of your flaws, no one can use them against you." - Tyrion Lannister
We are only self-conscious of things that we perceive to be noticable to others. Once we can find a way to move past our insecurities and doubts, we move into a place of confidence with our being.
What is one flaw about yourself that you have never been able to accept, but you know you need to in order to move forward?
Lesson of the day: Priorities must not become options and options cannot become priorities.
If you fall into the trap of making something that is optional a priority, you will never get anything important done. If you make a habit of hitting your priorities daily, you will become an entirely different person through this process
“Every day might not be a good day, but there is good in every day.” Think back on a situation in your life from which you can extract a positive outcome. No matter how dark, upsetting or turbulent the situation was, I promise you there is a gift that came out of that experience just waiting for you to find it.
There is something in your life right now that is holding you back or is standing in your way. There is a "wall" or "mountain" in front of you that may seem impassable.
Figure out a way around it! Burn the bridge behind you and give yourself the gift of having no choice but to move forward! I promise you, when you have no other options and go 100% all-in....doors open up.
Our brains can keep us in "tunnel vision" when we are in goal-seeking mode, which is basically all the time. However, when a new thought or possibility enters our minds, our world begins to open up to this new idea and we can see that possibility everywhere.
Daily Challenge: Determine one new possibility that exists for you and start thinking about it often. See what happens to your focus and the things you notice in your life moving forward with this focus.
Growing your network is possibly one of the greatest and quickest ways to grow personally and professionally. Sometimes it can be difficult to surround yourself with people that will hold you accountable and push you to be better, but isn't that better than being surrounded by people that are complacent and satisfied with the status quo?
What can you do today to grow your network by at least one person?
We all can get caught up in trying to do too much at once. It’s natural, it’s human. However, the fastest way to getting what you ultimatley want is to take it one step and one “bite” at a time. Where is the elephant in your life and what is the first bite you can take out of that today?
There is always this void between where you are and where you want to go. Inside of that void is where all the scary feelings and demons in your life can show up, but it also where progress and growth happens. Where is the void in your life and what is holding you back from jumping into it with both feet?
Faith can move mountains. Your doubt can create them.
Imagine what you could do with repeatable, consistent action every single day towards your target? The target wouldn't stand a chance!
What is your mountain and how what can you do today to start climbing it?!
We are can be blinded to something in our lives that may seem very obvious to others. I'll have you consider the possibility that in some area of your life, you are "blind" to a habit, routine, person, feature, etc. that is holding you back from succeeding and growing.
What is the one area of your life in which you are "blinded" and how can you change up your perspective there to get a fresh view?
There are always things going on that can cause us fear, anxiety and stress. The secret to overcoming these things is to train yourself how to let go of that apprehension and "throw caution to the wind."
Even picture yourself literally throwing caution out the window as you drive down the road, just as Dan does!
What is one way in which you are not willing to throw caution to the wind, and what is one thing you can do today to start doing that?
We all want results, and we all want them now. The problem with that is that results do not come to us right away, no matter how bad we want them to. If you are stuck in a situation in your life where you are not seeing the results after a long time of wanting them, consider this:
How can you simply take more action more often to reach that goal/target and essentially "collapse time" for yourself?
Identify one thing inside of your life in which you have been ready to "throw in the towel."
What is one thing you can do today to start digging yourself out of a situation in which everything seems lost?
Every single day in our lives, we are faced with situations that can either allow us to grow or shrink in our capabilities. The determining factor as to whether you grow from something or not is your attitude when responding to that obstacle and what you ultimately choose to make of it.
Daily Challenge: Identify an area of your life today where you are seeing obstacles as impediments rather than opportunities to test what you are made of.
Daily Challenge: Where in your life are you grinding through something and how can you put more of the responsibility of that grind on your shoulders?

When you start to practice a daily habit of gratitude, there are three main benefits that come about as a result of this over time.
1. You become a more thankful and caring person
2. You become more driven and hungry for success
3. You become more humble across your life.
Daily Challenge: Write down one thing you are grateful for in your life, no matter how big or small it is.
Where in your world are you truly lucky, yet you don't give yourself enough time to realize it?
Daily challenge: Find one thing inside of your life today that you are grateful for, and use that gratefulness to fuel your fire and drive today.
The acceptance of success in situations can be a difficult thing to do since we are often not willing to give ourselves enough credit for our own accomplishments.
On the other hand, we can be overly-critical of ourselves and allow our failures to compound and ultimately get in our way of success. Recognize that your failures are the pathway to your success and the acceptance of failure ultimately leads to your ability to succeed.
Where in your life are you being resistant to change and how is that affecting your growth?
Get out of your own way for once and realize that you are the single thing blocking your growth! Consider the possibility that your resistance to small changes could be the biggest obstacle to your future growth and breakthroughs in life!

Boredom can creep into our lives so easily that we may never even notice it. One day you are on fire and making big changes in your life, and the next you are stuck on the couch watching Netflix all day. What happens?
We can easily fall prey to boredom in our lives, but it is ok! The ADDITION of things back into your routine is the easiest and fastest way to break the boredom spell, not SUBTRACTION!

How we see ourselves is much more important that how others see us. The lens through which we view our own lives can be dimmed, blocked, altered and modified at times, but you must recognize that you are in control of the camera of your life. You are the director, producer and star actor of your own life.
A sniper is focused on a single target, very specific, very clear. A "shotgun mentality" approach is more like the "spray-and=pray" approach to achieving goals - and will rarely work.
Where in your life do you need to move away from the "shotgun mentality" and move towards a "sniper-focused" mentality to become more relevant in that area?

As we discussed in the theme of Alignment, every little action you take means something in the grand scheme of things.
The daily actions you take add up and cause you to rise as a person, but those actions can also add up to lead you down a path of mediocrity and below-average.
What are you doing in your life that you are either noticing or not noticing how it is adding up to your grand results?
Don't get caught by the "What" you are trying to do. The "What" and the "How" can change on a dime.
For lasting and true success in what you are chasing, you must be willing to determine the true "Why."
Things that are important and relevant to you might be meaningless to someone else, and vice versa.
Take 5 minutes today to think about how you can take more relevant actions in your life that will actually move you closer to what you truly want.
We all face adversity and challenges in our everyday life. How we respond to these challenges is much more important that the fact that they are there.
Where in your life do you need to allow your depth as a person take over and smash the adversity you are currently facing?
Your character as a person is a result of your habits. Habits are driven from discipline (or lack thereof), so what habits are you taking that are either shaping the character you want or causing your character to be out of alignment with what you ultimately want?
Anyone can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk? How are your actions being driven by your words, which are ultimately driven by your thoughts?
Challenge of the day:
- In what area of your life are you telling yourself a story through your words that is causing you down a path that is ultimately not giving you what you want?
- How can you change those thought patterns to start getting closer to what you want?
Taking relevant action towards a specific goal is the only way we end up achieving that desired goal. It is easy to get off-track and do things we were originally intending to do, but correcting yourself is essential to getting back on track and moving forward.
Are your daily routines, tasks and habits in alignment with your longer-term goals? If you are out of alignment, you can fall into the trap of taking repetitive, non-relevant actions towards what you are trying to accomplish. This can lead you down a path of disappointment and failure.
Re-evaluate your actions today and figure out where you are trying to "chop down a tree" in your life, but not taking the correct relevant actions towards accomplishing that goal.
Remember, it's never as good as you think, and it's never as bad as you think.
We have a tendency to get too high on our wins and too low on our losses. Learn to even those out more, and not only will you find that you are more happy, but your steps backwards won't keep down as long.
Expanding like a balloon is twofold:
1. A balloon expands uniformly outward in all directions, not more in one way and less in another. Think about how you need to expand outward in every direction of your life.
2. A balloon only expands with the injection of air into, just as your life will only expand with the injection and addition of things into it, not by the strict removal or subtraction of things.
