RuPaul's Drag Race Reviews and After Show - AfterBuzz TV

This week it’s the Snatch Game of love with special guests Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman and Tommy Dorfman. Jujubee does Eartha Kitt, Shea does Flavor Flav, Alexis Mateo does Walter Mercado, India does Jeffree Star, Blair does Ellen DeGeneres, and Cracker does Lady Gaga. The runway theme is Prom Queen Fantasy. The real drama happens behind the scenes when Ru announces that there are no safe queens and India reveals a shocking vote plot by Alexis, which Alexis then denies. Who to trust? It’s hard for the queens to tell. The lip sync assassin this week is Vanjie and Shea and Vanjie battle it out. Shea wins and reveals a shocking pick for who goes home.

Sarah Hyland guest stars on this All Stars episode featuring an improv challenge. The queens have to improv for the She-MZ gossip show. Ru pairs the teams and Shea has to work with Alexis after Alexis voted to send her home, but they manage to start to mend their relationship. The runway this week is camo inspired and Michelle critiques Mayhem which leads to a conversation in Untucked. Mayhem’s best friend is the lip sync assassin this week against Miz Cracker which leads to a stunning double win!

Host Mark J Freeman, Ollie Drennan & Ronnie Jr. recap the third episode of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars Season 5 " Get A Room". The contestants are teamed up to create a signature suite worthy of a "5 Star Ru-tique Hotel". This proves to be difficult for many of the queens because of how much work goes into this challenge. Also, the Miz Cracker drama continues as Alexis Mateo confronts her twice this episode on her intentions. Which Lip Sync Assassin arrives to compete with this weeks' winner? Who slayed the "3 in 1" Runway challenge?

In episode 1 of All Stars season 5, Ricky Martin guest stars for a Werk the World Variety Extravaganza! The queens enter the werk room in their fabulous entrance outfits and we see a comparison with their original entrance outfits. Then, they participate in a classic reading challenge, which stirs an already deep fight between Derrick Barry and India Ferrah. The queens participate in a Werk the World variety show to show off their talents. Before the lip sync, the queens learn of the new All Stars rule in which each episode will feature a lip sync assassin drag race alum. The lip sync assassin wins this one and the peer voted queen goes home.
Episode 2 features guest judges Tessa Thompson and Madison Beer. Miz Cracker has claws out for Ongina who she wanted to send home last week. The queens prepare for the girl group challenge about celebrity crushes called “I’m in Love.” Miz Cracker is told she is difficult in rehearsals. Miz Cracker ultimately apologizes to Ongina and realizes she needs to be nice to get through All Stars. The queens stun in their “love the skin you’re in” runway looks. The top queen wins the lip sync against the assassin and chooses who goes home.

It’s the finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 12 and Jaida Essence Hall, Crystal Methyd, and Gigi Goode compete in 3 lip sync battles for the crown. The Season 12 queens show off their best drag from home and a miss congeniality for season 12 is crowned. There are guest appearances by Nina West, Dolly Parton, Rachel Bloom, and the season 11 reigning queen, Yvie Oddly. Ultimately, the season 12 queen is crowned!

The queens broadcast from home in their pajamas in an epic reunion episode. The episode highlights some of the shadiest and most emotional moments of the season. Lisa Rinna appears to share a special message and we see never before seen outtakes from guest judges such as Whoopi Goldberg, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Leslie Jones. Special guest Whoopi Goldberg joins the episode for a comedy challenge and a Color Purple themed-runway. But first, the queens participate in the epic return of the puppet mini-challenge! Jackie Cox, the reigning champion of mini-challenges, wins and gets to pick the order for the main comedy challenge. Jackie opts to go first but no one wants to go last and a debate ensues. Whoopi helps the queens to sharpen their comedy skills in rehearsals. Jackie opens with a bang and Jaida closes with a whimper, right after a long set from Sherry Pie. However, it’s Crystal’s week to shine as Phenomenal Phil, an exotic male dancer with some hilarious moves. An epic lip sync to Prince’s “1999” closes out the night with a fan-favorite queen going home.

The secret celebrities this week, Alex Newell, Dustin Milligan, and Matt Iseman join drag mentors Nina West, Bob the Drag Queen, and Kim Chi in drag transformations. The episode begins with a quick drag cheerleading challenge hosted by Love Connie. The winner gets to pair the queens with their mentors for the main challenge, a comedy roast of RuPaul! The celebrity guests transform into their drag personas, Bette Bordeaux, Rachel McAdamsapple, and Madame That Bitch, to compete for their charities in a hilarious roast of RuPaul. They shantay on the runway and then perform a heartfelt lip sync to Celine Dion’s “It’s all coming back to me now.” The ultimate winner of the episode will surprise you!

Alyssa Edwards, Asia O’Hara, and Trinity “The Tuck” Taylor are the drag queen mentors for this episode. The celebrities competing for charities are Loni Love, who is paired with Trinity, Tami Roman who is paired with Alyssa, and Vanessa Williams who is paired with Asia. The celebrities participate in a mini challenge in quick macho man drag to promote the product Schwing: for Electoral Disfunction. Then, the queens move onto the maxi challenge, a Ruscial based on 9 to 5 called “Twerking 5 to 9” and they get encouragement from Dolly Parton herself! Then, the celebrities walk the runway and perform a lip sync and one celebrity takes home the prize!

The Queens make over Drag Race super fans in this epic makeover challenge. Jaida gets to pair the fans with each queen because she won the previous challenge. Daisy Ridley is the guest judge and she is loving the makeovers. It’s a strong week for Jaida and Crystal. The queens do the super fans justice but two queens end up in the bottom for weak family resemblances. The two queens in the bottom perform the most epic lip sync of the season.

Rachel Bloom and Jeff Goldblum join as special guests on this politically minded episode of Drag Race. But first, the queens compete in a purrrfect mini challenge sponsored by Pretty Litter. Then, special guest Raven joins to coach the queens for their debate in Choices 2020. Rachel Bloom and Jeff Goldblum host the debate and Jaida is the breakout star! Widow struggles with finding her groove in the competition and Jackie opens up about being an Iranian immigrant in the US.

The first secret celebrities are revealed to be Nico Tortorella from “Younger,” Jordan Connor from “Riverdale,” and stand up comedian Jermaine Fowler. Each of them get a former Drag Race winner as a mentor. They participate in a drag obstacle course and Nico wins and gets to pick the mentors. They choose Monet X Change for themself, Trixie Mattel for Jordan, and Bob the Drag Queen for Jermaine. The celebrities are coached to participate in a hilarious Snatch Game. Jordan does Chrissy Teigen, Nico does Lucille Ball, and Jermaine does a female Kevin Hart. The celebrities do a runway of iconic RuPaul looks and then participate in an epic lip sync. Even though one queen is crowned, each of the celebrities end up winning money for their respective charities.

The Queens participate in a reading mini challenge sponsored by Fab Fit Fun boxes. The main challenge is for the queens to design products for the new drag queen lifestyle brand called Droop. Guest host Bob Harper helps the queens with the commercials for their products, but he’s having trouble getting Jan to lower her energy. Jan is bummed because she didn’t win last week or because Brita went home, or both, which causes her to bomb the challenge. Widow is overwhelmed but she still has a touching moment with her idol, special guest Chaka Khan. The runway is black wedding themed and everyone slays, but ultimately it’s Heidi’s night.

The queens compete in “Madonna: The Unauthorized Rusical,” a musical review of Madonna’s career. The queens are challenged to sing and dance to parodies of  Madonna’s popular songs. For the runway, the queens are asked to recreate Michelle Visage’s iconic looks. The bottom two queens lip sync to Madonna’s “Burning Up” and a beloved queen goes home. AOC is a guest judge and stops by Untucked to tell the queens how much Drag Race means to her.

The queens compete in the Snatch Game with special guests Daniel Franzese and Jonathan Bennett. Miss Vanjie joins the work room to tell the queens what not to do in the Snatch Game. Highlights from the Snatch Game include a Lisa Rinna impression and a very saucy robot. Lowlights were a lackluster Jennifer Holliday impression, an off-the-Mark Patricia Quinn impersonation, and... another robot? The frozen inspired runway leaves everyone gagging and the “Let It Go” lip sync includes some delightful special effects.

It’s an acting challenge episode with the queens performing in the hit new medical drama “Gay’s Anatomy”. Nicki and Gigi assign the roles and Aiden and Widow are not happy with their picks, but they make the best of it by turning in hilarious performances. The real drama behind the scenes is in Untucked when the queens go after Aiden. Ultimately, Heidi and Nicky end up in the bottom in a lip sync for their life.

The queens are buzzing after a bee-themed mini dance challenge. For the main challenge, the queens have to compete in three ball themed runways: Lady Ballers: Title IX Realness, Basketball Wives, and Balls to the Wall. Leslie Jones is the guest judge this week and her enthusiasm has endeared fans enough to petition that she become a permanent judge. Gigi, Nicky, and Jaida wowed the panel with their gag-worthy looks, and one queen is sent packing after a ball-mishap during her lip sync.

Hosts Jacque Borowski, Jayla Roxx, Ollie Drennan and Tez discuss the World’s Worst competition! They give their thoughts on the tops and bottoms of the runway (should it be buttons AND bows or buttons OR bows?) and a less than stellar exit from the eliminated queen.

Season 12 second premiere with Robyn and Thandie Newton. The queens must perform to a Bob Fosse inspired number. The team discusses Sherry Pie’s disqualification.

The first seven queens compete in the first Season 12 premiere which has a TON of looks and a gag worthy twist! Featuring Nicki Minaj as a special guest, the following queens were introduced: Bria, Nicky Doll, Widow Von’Du, Jackie Cox, Heidi N. Closet, Gigi Goode, and Crystel Methyd. The mini-challenge had two runway looks, one for spring one for fall, and some… Fell short. The main challenge was a choreography and lyrics challenge to the track “I’m That Bitch”. Lastly, the lipsync is to Starships by Nicki!!
