'GENE GRINMAN' - Words Are Worth It
Gene Grinman returns to Ruse Radio! This is the first time we've had a guest back so soon and for good reason. Gene's first appearance was beyond refreshing as he was the first guest to come on and discuss poetry and the beauty of words at length with me. The relationship words have with the world we've come to know is the most important thing in our lives. Reality exists beyond language but we use the only tool at our disposal in order to measure and quantify it. Poetry then takes this and give the power back to the listener by allowing you to interpret in the most personal way possible. The way you might experience what is said is rarely the author's intent. What we are left with is a mosaic of meaning; a message beyond comprehension. Never forget the power words hold. They are a weapon. They are a bandage. They are the strongest force known to man. They are the foundation of every relationship ever formed. Without words, what are we? As always, thank you for watching. New episodes of Ruse Radio always coming soon. π―
'JAY STATZ' - Fli Talk Live!
This was the most fun I've had doing a podcast in a long while! βΊ Jay has a genuine energy that is both courageous and contagious. One can't help but be themselves around someone like him. Make sure to check out his interview series 'Fli Talk Live' to see more of this! π» In this episode, we discuss conducting interviews, how Jay began the 'Fli Talk' series, learning NOT to be humble and embracing your strengths, experimenting with music to find new sounds, and so much more! Stay tuned until the end for an unhinged freestyle session. π₯ As always, thanks for watching. New episodes of Ruse Radio always coming soon. πͺ
'JOEY COUGH' - Character is Success
Joey Cough returns to Ruse Radio! This episode is shorter than our previous outing but even more jam packed. This is the natural result of putting two creatives overflowing with ideas in front of a couple microphones. It's an inevitability. π In this episode, we talk about what separates a successful artist from the rest, how comedy has changed in recent years, the magic of songwriting, one-hit wonders, how we become our parents, and so much more! As always, thanks for watching. New episodes of Ruse Radio always coming soon. πͺ
'GENE GRINMAN' - Revolutionizing Poetry
Ever since witnessing Gene recite his work live, it has been a goal of mine to feature him on the show! He is one of the few people I have met that has an intimate relationship with the English language like myself. His passion bleeds onto the page with each poem acting as another invitation for interpretation. Gene Grinman is a true artist. In this episode, we discuss our favorite poets, why we're so passionate about expression, Gene's introduction to English as a second language, the magic of creating art, and so much more. Thanks for watching! As always, new episodes of Ruse Radio always coming soon. π―

Shawny Neubecker is the creator and owner of TRU Heart Photo. Her ability to highlight the positive qualities of others is nothing short of a super power. We need more people like her in this world! In this episode, we discuss the origins of TRU Heart Photo, how to break the cycle of hate, overcoming trauma, becoming a business owner, winning a grant for that very business, and so much more! As always, thanks for watching! π New episodes always coming soon.

As always, thanks for watching! π New episodes always coming soon.
'ADAM HARAHUC' - The Untold Story of Running a Radio Show
Consider this a crossover episode! π€£ You can catch Adam on Solid State Radio, where he hosts a show called 'Sessions'. Here, he plays local music on the station and promotes artists in a way that reminds me of someone I know quite well. π In this episode, we talk about the behind-the-scenes of running a radio show, how to conduct an interview, how to infiltrate the industry you want to work within, our most awkward interviews, & much more. π₯ As always, thank you for watching. New episodes of Ruse Radio always coming soon! π
'GOZZA' - Hip-Hop, Songwriting, Movies, & More
Gozza is an MC/Producer/DJ extraordinaire producing raw hip-hop that would fit right into the soundscape of the 90s. His authentic throwback feel is one of a now forgotten time --- when DJ scratches were a staple and MCs were known purely for their lyricism. This is born of the artist's genuine love of the era. Rap just ain't what it used to be. π― In this episode, we talk about the state of hip-hop, the songwriting process, the history of the Artful Dodgers, our favorite films, & so much more! π₯ As always, thank you for watching. New episodes of Ruse Radio always coming soon. π
'VAUGHN LAMBO' - Knowledge is Power, Communication is Key
Vaughn Lambo is a hip-hop artist who's laid-back, life-loving personality breathes a breath of fresh air into the rap community. His latest project, 'Who Was King O Live?' is available now on all streaming platforms. π₯ Which is more important: what you know OR your ability to express it? π€ In this conversation, Vaughn Lambo and I get to the bottom of this very question. It's always such a legendary time when the two of us get together. Vaughn is someone who has the same ability as me; he's an energy first and a human second. There's something that radiates from him that is reminiscent of the human spirit itself. With that, I must remind you that ships rarely find shore without the beacons of light that beckon them in. π’ In this episode we talk about the importance of kindness, how to manifest your dreams, meeting celebrities, putting your ego aside, accepting where you are today, our future presidential campaign, & much more. Stick around until the end of the episode for a 1hr+ freestyle session π― As always, thank you for listening. New episodes of Ruse Radio always coming soon. π
'TJA' - No Reward = No Risk
TJA is a rapper/singer/songwriter, high-energy performer, and an artist on a mission. The soul in his work is undeniable. With that being said, this is one of those episodes that was a blast to film. I have to thank TJA for having such positive energy and being an awesome dude all around. We've only met a few times throughout my life but, each time, he leaves a lasting impression. π In this episode, we talk about TJA returning to Flint, the difference between his three personas (Toby, TJA, & Anthony), the importance of quality live audio, the intricacies of arranging live events, Grey Goose, riding motorcycles, celebrating your birthday by yourself, why you should present rewards to those you want to deliver quality + timely work, & so much more. π₯ As always, thank you for watching. New episodes of Ruse Radio always coming soon. π
'CARLITO810' - Flint Michigan, Being Yourself
A day late and a dollar short, let's celebrate a belated 810 day π Carlito 810 is a hip-hop artist and Flint native. He wears his love for the city on his sleeve because it made the man you see today. To me, this serves as a reminder to reflect on our own backgrounds and recognize what sculpted us. If you were a statue, it took the world to chisel your marble into something memorable. In this episode, we talk about when Carlito met Tupac, Flint hip-hop, the songwriting process, why we make music, the importance of being yourself, letting life guide you, and so much more. As always, thank you for watching. New episodes of Ruse Radio debut weekly. π (Originally released August 11th 2023)

'JACKMAN RAPS' - Art Takes Heart
Jackman Raps is a hip-hop artist from Flint, Michigan. His latest release, 'Meditated', can be heard now on all streaming platforms! This is his fourth appearance on the show thanks to the magical chemistry found between Mr. Jackman & Ruse. πͺ Jackman observed that a problem with having a dream is that you are always living ahead of yourself. Any creative mind can relate to the idea of being lost in your own vision. However, these experiences are what feed into the depth of our art. It's the artists that must be lost so the world has something to find. π The dance becomes discouraging but it's the root of a tree. You can't have character without depth. You can't have art without imbalance. We can't have you without growth. So embrace it. β₯ As always, thank you for watching. 'ZACHARY SCOTT' - Bringing Happiness Back
Zachary Scott is a vocalist in the metalcore group 'Life Right Now'. He's also making waves in the fitness community as a two-time NPC Men's Physique Masters qualifier and a certified personal trainer. If there's one thread that runs through all of his content, it's that a happy and strong mind and body feeds into a meaningful, fulfilling life. It's inspirational to hear people like Zachary talk through their lived experience because it's so clear that he's achieved a form of enlightenment. Gratitude is earned through dedication's inevitable payoffs. If we don't put in the work required to find a better tomorrow, it will always be yesterday. It's up to us to bring happiness back, within both ourselves and the world surrounding us. It starts with you! π As always, thank you for watching. New episodes of Ruse Radio debut weekly. π
'ROCKO TESLA' - An Open Mind Can Open Minds
With every episode of this show, it becomes more and more clear to me that life is inherently collaborative. Whoever enters the studio, it's the energy that they carry that determines how the next hour or two might go. We live through one another. My role models are those who have found a way out of the modern day thought loop. My respect is reserved for those who carry themselves in a way that is infectious. It's up to us to teach one another how to think outside of the box! An open mind can open minds. This marks our first-ever four-time guest on Ruse Radio! Ruse is a proud FaintCRW Affiliate and close-friend of the legendary Rocko Tesla. Whenever the two of us get together, chaos ensues. In this episode, we discuss the importance of open-mindedness, Joe Rogan, Kanye West, vlogging, Tubi movies, AI, how often rappers should release music, growing as an artist, & more! As always, thank you for watching. New episodes of Ruse Radio debut weekly. π
'JEMMI HAZEMAN' - Intuition VS. Wisdom
Jemmi Hazeman is the frontman of 'Jemmi Hazeman & The Honey Riders', a fresh coast indie-psych-pop outfit. His latest single, 'Ain't A Crime To Have No Hope', is available now on all streaming platforms (links below). Jemmi has a way of making thoughtful psychedelic indie pop/rock that I haven't quite heard anywhere else. It's almost like listening to mushrooms. π In this episode, we discuss the nature of thoughts, the difference between intuition and wisdom, what it's like to be an alien, how 'The Honey Riders' came together, working solo VS. in a group, & much more. π₯ As always, thank you for watching. New episodes of Ruse Radio debut weekly. π
'CALEB NETTLES' - Music Is Mystic
Caleb Nettles is a guitarist/vocalist for the band Collapse//Revive, a Michigan-based metalcore group. You can also catch him offering his talents as the lead guitarist/vocalist for ZANG, a Genesee-county rock & roll cover band. Ruse Radio is so much larger than hip-hop and episodes like this help to prove it! Caleb is an incredibly talented musician and it was an honor to learn more about his process. π In this episode, we discuss channeling creativity, what attracts us to music, the origins of ZANG, experimenting with your sound, Jemmi Hazeman, the problem with MIDI drums, why bands break up, & much more! As always, thank you for watching. New episodes of Ruse Radio debut weekly. π
'BKTHAGR808' - Collaboration Is The Key
BKTHAGR808 and I had such a great conversation for his first appearance on Ruse Radio that I had to have him back on ASAP. Our similar outlook on separate yet parallel career paths (him a producer/drummer, me a solo artist/sound engineer/podcaster) makes for an interesting conversation about the nature of networking. We both are deeply invested in the idea of manifestation and reaching out to others in order to achieve your goals. Collaboration is always the key! π In this episode, we discuss his goal of working with KTLYN, making his first sale on BeatStars, the importance of reaching out to others, finding yourself through collaboration, AI music, crafting your own sound, taking care of yourself first, Ruse's TikTok livestreams, & much more! π₯ As always, thank you for watching. New episodes of Ruse Radio debut weekly. π
'CRACKA LACK' - Improving Your Creative Output
In this episode, we discuss everything from his origins, his work with Speed Gang, paying $800/hr for a call with Derrel Eves, the 'Growing With The Bozzos' podcast, how Crack is improving today, and much more. π I learned a lot from the conversation and I hope you do, too! It's always a blessing to hear from a wise soul willing to share their secrets. π§
As always, thank you for watching! π New episodes of Ruse Radio debut weekly. Let us know you're here! After all, this is only the beginning. π

'SKYTZO BEATZ' - Professional Wrestling, Blending Hip-Hop & Heavy Metal
Skytzo Beatz has been on the Ruse Radio guest list for years! It was only a matter of time before we got him on the show. In this one, we talk about our experiences with the WWE, Skytzo being mistaken for Sada Baby, combining metal with hip-hop, and much more. π₯ It takes a conversation like this to remind me of my love for the squared circle. Watching Monday Night Raw taught me the essence of storytelling. It showed me that, regardless of whether or not we believe a story to be true, we remain emotionally invested. It's all about how that story is framed. We exist within a framework of stories. It only makes sense that we seek to connect with them. This fiery passion I found within the beauty of narrative is the same passion I carry with me into today. π With all of that being said, tell your story. No one is going to tell it for you. π― As always, thanks for tuning in. β¨
'CAMERON TYLER' - How To Navigate The Music Industry
Cameron Tyler returns to Ruse Radio to discuss what he's learned throughout his years in the industry! The best thing we can do is learn from lived experiences. Cameron got locked in with Jon Connor shortly after entering the game and began taking notes immediately. One thing you figure out quickly in life is that you can't unlearn the things you discover. In my eyes, that's what makes discussions like these valuable. Once you've been put on game, you level up. π As always, thanks for tuning in! π
'SETH STOLZ' - Growing Up As A Jehovah's Witness
For Seth's second appearance on the show, we decided to dive deep into his origin story. π₯ Seth grew up as a Jehovah's Witness. Going into this one, I knew that it would be a rocky ride because Mr. Stolz is nowhere near what you would expect when it comes to religious types. Hearing him explain what he was feeling and how he would deal with his personal struggles was profound. From a certain perspective, one could identify the entire experience as an exaggeration of the universal existential angst we all feel as children. I'm sure there are many children in organized religions that feel this way right now. It's up to people like Seth to tell their story and break that cycle. π As always, thanks for tuning in. π
'JOEY COUGH' - Freestyle Rap, The Secret To Living Without Regret
Joey Cough is a musician who I had the pleasure of meeting years ago. He hasn't left my radar since. The lyricism and flow on this man is reminiscent of the best 90s hip-hop, topped off with a humor that keeps everything fresh π₯ I would recommend his music to any lover of rap. The following is taken from his artist bio on Spotify: 'Joseph Gamache was hatched in Flint, Michigan sometime during the 1980s. Joey was always a special child (mostly in the m*ntally ch*llenged sense of the word). He was a class clown in school and was always in trouble. His first love was rock 'n' roll but he quickly became corrupted after being introduced to rap music by his older sister. He wrote his first rhyme at the age of 11, under the name Crazy J. At 17, he began battle rapping and eventually found success with the name Jabber Jaw. After winnin g16 freestyle battles at a local Flint night club, he was offered a record deal with FrontStreet Records. After releasing several projects under the names Jabber Jaw & Jab, which were sold in FYE and featured on iTunes, he reinvented himself yet again and settled on the Joey Cough moniker. Joey Cough is one of the most versatile entertainers in the business. He does much more than just make great music. He can also shred a person's confidence with his fierce battle raps and make even the most uptight killjoy laugh hysterically at his comedy videos. His music is a unique blend of humor, street appeal, and pure lyricism rarely offered in today's market.' As always, thanks for watching! π―
'JACKMAN RAPS' - Optimizing Your Content, Freestyle Rap
Nobody has chemistry like me and Jackman! π― For the third installment of the Jackman trilogy, we talk about how to make excellent content, Chance The Rapper, scam callers, Jeff Skigh, the value of art, and much more. As always, thank you for tuning in. β₯
7 Reasons I'm Moving To Chicago π
Chicago has developed a special place in my heart. There's something about that city that calls to me. So much culture, so much life. It reminds me what I love about this world. It's a strange feeling to feel at home while away from it. For that reason, I've vowed to myself that I will one day call myself a local. I need this energy. Being surrounded by motion is like waking up to a gentle push in the right direction every day. It's calling my name. Mark the date. You heard it here first, folks. π

'BKTHAGR808' - The Infinite Mystery of Creation
In this episode, BKTHAGR808 and I attempt to answer a simple question: What is the purpose of creativity? π€
As humans, we're naturally inclined to look for new, creative concepts. We feed of one another's creativity. There's something fundamentally gratifying about recognizing an original idea. It's as if it speaks to the mystery of existence itself. Within each of us is a consciousness that exists beyond verifiable explanation. A consciousness that can only be explained through divergent thinking and a humility that there are some things we just don't know. A particularly creative piece of art seems to tap into that same mystery. It's like a dance between the waking world and the in-between. Somewhere inside of that dance lies the truth. Let's try our best to find it. π
'JAY-O' - What Makes A 'Real' Rapper?
In this episode, Jay-O and I attempt to get to the solve this question: 'What makes a 'real' rapper'? Authenticity in this day and age is becoming more and more of a rarity. To stick out from the pack, one must find their own voice. Generational talents like Frank Sinatra and Johnny Cash are respected in the hip-hop community for moving differently than their peers. Is there a lesson to be drawn from these individuals? Has the game changed? We discuss this and much more in this episode. As always, thanks for tuning in! π
'ROCKO TESLA' - Internet Culture, Andrew Tate, ChatGPT

'JACKMAN RAPS' - Freestyle Rap, Meditation, Near-Death Experience
Jackman Raps is a poetic soul that found his calling in music. A few years ago, he had a near-death experience that inspired a sense of urgency within. Ever since, he's been applying pressure on an unprecedented level. The melodies this man conjures up are downright inspirational. We need more positive, uplifting energy within the atmosphere of hip-hop if we want to reshape our surroundings. In that sense, Jackman Raps is like a glimpse of the future. β€οΈ
'FELICIA BURGHARDT' - The Life of a Playboy Model
Growing up, I never would have guessed that I would one day see my sister's face on the cover of Playboy magazine. The world is as unpredictable as it is continuous. Needless to say, it's an honor and a privilege to provide a glance into Felicia's lifestyle. If you would like to purchase a signed copy of her Playboy issue, you can contact her on Facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/felicia.burghardt ) . As always, thank you for listening to the podcast! If you enjoy it, please make sure to show support in any way that you can. Anything counts. β₯
'KEVIN CLOUDS' - Learning From Mistakes, How To Market Your Music, What Went Wrong With Wav Village
It's safe to say this was the strongest episode to date. πͺ Kevin has been on my list for a hot minute! I've been keeping up with his content for years, watching him refine his sound along the way. Funnily enough, we both met Weet (a phenomenal sound engineer) through the same mutual friend, Arline! This trio got together and created a downtown music hub for artists called, 'Wav Village'. Due to circumstances beyond their control (as discussed in this episode), they've had to jump over many hurdles just to keep things afloat. This is one of the many perks of trying to breathe life into Flint, Michigan. π However, Kevin and co. continue to stay persistent and positive in their pursuit of a shared dream and it's inspiring to see. Energy like that is what will wake this city up. π
'RAYVON TAYLOR' - How To Conduct An Interview
Rayvon Taylor is the creator and host of 'The Ray Podcast', an episodic outing that introduces us to endless talent in the Genesee county area. Whether it's an entrepreneur, musician, athlete, actor, etc., Ray shines his light upon them with deep questions and a positive personality. There are never enough people using their platform to highlight the talents of others! One could argue that is what I'm doing with this very program π
'ELI CAMPIONI' - Support Local Music!
In the Flint music scene, Eli Campioni has his foot in the door. Whether it be behind the scenes or onstage, this man will always give his all to create the best show possible. I met him as an employee of the Flint Local 432 and he always went above and beyond his duties for any given show. This is because Eli believes in the power of potential. He sees what local musicians have to offer in a way that others might not. Learn from this. Lead by example. πͺ
'JACE DOUGLAS GRANT' - Gaming, Film, Television
Jace and I have known each other for quite some time! You could say one this was a long time in the making. Not only that, but my friend here was lucky enough to be the first to grace the Ruse Stu's brand new upgrade: the loveseat.
(You can catch every single episode of this podcast in video format on YouTube! Just search 'Ruse Radio'.)
'MICHAEL DERRA' - Intro to Dungeons & Dragons
Michael is a good friend of mine and a big fan of the podcast! I was delighted to bring him into the studio for a conversation between companions; an honest interaction. While it is a blast bringing in numerous creators and musicians, it's a nice change of pace to just have a simple friendly chat. Β Michael has a deep interest in 'Dungeons & Dragons' & voice acting, which play into one another nicely. We discuss the basics of D&D, what he loves about it, how to make a character, & even begin a small campaign! As always, thank you for tuning in. β₯
'MEALEOSTONE VISUALS' - Hip-Hop Music Videos
'MealeoStone Visuals' is a name that has been picking up more and more traction every single day. With 16 music videos released in January and 10 collaborations with budding Flint musician YSR Gramz, the consistency in the work on display here is impenetrable.Β
Being someone who works in video myself, it's refreshing to hear someone speak the language. This is why I'm so impressed by his output. Editing can be a time-consuming process that would turn most away. True commitment is required 24/7 if one wants to have a constant output in this field. With a goal of 300 videos this year, it's safe to say that MealeoStone Visuals is on the way up. π
'GOZZA' - History of Flint Hip-Hop
Gozza is a mid-Michigan hip-hop artist keeping the old school sound alive. His latest project, 'Black Vinyl', is a shining example of this, featuring a grimy boom bap sound that would fit right in if we flew back to the mid-90s. His sample-based production is a product of his upbringing, as well as his vast knowledge of Flint hip-hop. I would love to have him back in the studio to dive even deeper into some of these artists and what each of them represent to the city. It's not common to find someone so dedicated to the craft for no reason other than genuine love for the art. It makes for a pure discussion.
You can listen to 'Gozza Strip Radio' on Fridays, 3:30 - 5:30 P.M. EST! This is where he curates a collection of local tunes to highlight. Anyone from the area can send in their radio edits and get featured. This is just part of Gozza's effort to share local talent beyond the few names you might expect. I respect this deeply because there isn't enough focus on the surplus of individuals making incredible art. There is so much value to be found in each creative individual. It takes people like Gozza to bring this wisdom to the forefront. π―
'SHAWNY NEUBECKER' - True Heart Project
Shawny Neubecker is an abundantly compassionate individual with infinite love to share. Her entire adult life has been focused on providing value to individuals who are in need. 'True Heart Project' is the latest example of this!
I expected that, for the podcast, we would talk about the individuals she has met through 'True Heart Project' and how the organization came together. Instead, we went far deeper and touched on the very values that drive both of us in our individual quests for universal acceptance. Shawny and I share many values and this made for an honest, progressive dialogue. I'm looking forward to having her back again soon!Β
As always, thank you for tuning in. This show isn't possible without your support. β₯
'ALLEY' - Alternative Hip-Hop
ALLEY has been on my radar for almost two years now! It was a pleasure finally getting him into the Ruse Stu. In these two short hours, we talk about our approaches to songwriting, local artists we admire, the ups-and-downs of working by yourself, and much more.
This man's music is unlike anything in the hip-hop scene. With such a massive collection to choose from, that truly does say a lot. You can't know what to expect when approaching his music. There isn't enough of that type of creativity in the atmosphere. Let's fix that. π―
'KANE DA GR8' - Music Management, Comedy VS. Cancel Culture, Parenthood
In the longest installment of 'Ruse Radio' to date, Kane Da Gr8 leads me through these 3 hours with ease. I'll often find that, even though I don't follow an outline or structure, I have to lead each guest throughout the conversation in order to keep things moving. It's what any good host would do. This time, however, I was able to sit back and allow things to flow. It created such an organic atmosphere and I only have Kane to thank for being so open to explore ideas. π Check out the music video for his latest track, 'Eyes on Me', now on YouTube! π₯
