Hey guys! Welcome to Episode 8!! 

Hello Everyone! Happy New Year!  

In this week's episode, I sat down with Simon Fraser University’s Financial Aid Director, Manoj Bhakthan, and talked about all the different kinds of financial support available to Undergraduate students at SFU. We covered everything from Scholarships, Grants, Student Loans, Bursaries, and Work-Study opportunities. So this week, I really encourage you to take down some of the pointers, especially you think you are going to need funding throughout your degree. Enjoy!!!  

If the last 2 years have taught us anything, it is the importance of looking after both your physical and mental health. And unfortunately, too many of us wait for a crisis before we start seeking professional help. So this week, the spotlight is on SFU's Health and Counselling! Were going to hear a bit about the department that has been at the frontlines of the pandemic here on campus. Listen to learn more about their services and how you as a new student can volunteer or work with them.

Your Physical Health and Wellness take the hardest HIT in 1st year when you are still learning how to juggle a new environment, homesickness, challenging classes, midterms, growing social circles, etc... It can be a lot!! So this week we are hearing from Nicholas Sirski SFU Rec + Fitness Manager about all the fun and exciting ways you can start getting involved on campus, whilst also keeping the "Freshman 15" at bay.

Join me as I sit down with Bernard Ryu (Back on Track Program, Manager) to discuss everything about Academic Advising at SFU. Bernard was an Academic Advisor for about 10 years so believe me when I say, there is no one more qualified to break down how this department functions and supports the student body. In our conversation, we make an effort to clarify misconceptions and age-old problems that people have like figuring out the difference between when to see Academic Advisor versus going to Departmental Advising for example, so download and dive in, it's gonna be good!
