Welcome to Keep It Real...The podcast where we explore ways to navigate our own reality in a world of fake news, filters where falsehoods travel faster than the facts. Born from Ruth Royall's instagram campaign last year to raise awareness and rebel against unrealistic beauty standards. The ‘Keep It Real’ campaign flooded instagram with positive images intended to spread the message that we are enough as we are. The drum and bass community rose to the challenge and joined Ruth by posting images of themselves with #keepitreal painted on their body. In response to this outpouring of support and with a clear need to take the conversation further, Ruth has launched a podcast to keep the discussion going. In this Episode I chat to Riya. Riya is a vocalist, songwriter and DJ. She's taken home the award for best drum and bass vocalist twice in a row. and her songwriting has really struck a chord with me and I wanted to find out more...
