The Rainforest Flying Squad

The Rainforest Flying Squad

In this episode, I'm meeting with Kathy Code from the Rainforest Flying Squad.

The Squad is a movement. The last thing standing between the Ancient Growth Forests and the Teal-Jones: the company hell-bent on clear cutting the region.

If you live in BC and can get to Fairy Creek, please join the Facebook Group and find a way to do so. If you are stuck at home like me, please email or call Premier John Horgan and let him know you will not vote NDP in the future if this forest gets clear cut. Horgan made a promise to protect this area and he is breaking that promise now.

Premier Horgan's Office:

Naomi Hunter - Leader of the Saskatchewan Green Party

Naomi Hunter - Leader of the Saskatchewan Green Party

In this episode I get to know Naomi Hunter, the leader of the Saskatchewan Green Party.

As someone constantly volunteering and working to enrich her community, Naomi found herself turning to politicians when she would inevitably run into red tape. Ultimately Naomi decided she would be able to get more done were she in a position to take direct action. Thus she entered the world of politics and the rest is history.

Join me in this fantastic interview with a woman on a mission to change the political landscape of Saskatchewan.

Cheers!

Climate Change and Our Attempt to Ignore It with Mark Bigland-Pritchard

Climate Change and Our Attempt to Ignore It with Mark Bigland-Pritchard

Mark is a scientist.

One of the people that everyone says we should listen to, but don't often have access to. Well, today you have no excuse. I've brought you an expert, so that you can hear it for yourself. Climate change is absolutely real and humans are absolutely accelerating it.

We can see the negative impacts of climate change all over the world, most notably in Australia, India, and China. As global average temperatures increase, forest fires become commonplace, destroying the trees we rely on for oxygen and compounding the negative affects.

One of many valuable things Mark explains during this episode, is how Canada's carbon tax works. A must listen for anyone with questions.

Cheers and enjoy the podcast!

I sit down with the Chief Official Agent of the Saskatchewan Green Party, Dave Abbey. Dave has been involved in politics his entire life. Growing up in Ottawa, Dave rose awareness for world hunger on parliament hill and protested the Vietnam War before heading West and joining the NDP; later the Green Party.

Enjoy this deep dive with a true legend of Canadian politics.

Cheers,

Ryan

Ralph Klein's Kingdom

Ralph Klein's Kingdom

A former Calgary resident and business owner describes what life was like during the oil boom in Alberta, with Ralph Klein as Mayor, and later Premier.

We discuss the 86' olympics, the Calgary stampede, and blowing up hospitals.

Love him or hate him, Ralph was elected time and time again, so he must have been doing something right.
