Poetry 27: it takes two to argue

Poetry 27: it takes two to argue

Today's podcast is brought to you by @pin_kpoet (instagram). This poem reminded me to not argue with others just to prove a point. We all live in our own reality and have different perceptions of the world. It's not worth arguing against a hard-headed individual because in their eyes you'll never be right. IT TAKES TWO TO ARGUE, save your breath.

Poetry 26: who really f*cks with you

Poetry 26: who really f*cks with you

Today's poem is brought to you by @thepainpoet (instagram). I believe this poem has a very deep message within it in which it's always good to check on people and be there for them in a time of need but it brings up the thought of will they reciprocate that helping hand back. As in when you're in a time of suffering and pain will the people you were there for, be there for you? To be honest you won't know the answer to that until that time comes. All you can do is hope that you've surrounded yourself with people that will be there for you through thick and thin. At the end of your toughest times, YOU'LL SEE WHO REALLY F*CKS WITH YOU!

Poetry 25: you're the sh*t

Poetry 25: you're the sh*t

Podcast link in bio! Today's podcast is brought to you by @poemsporn_ (instagram). This poem is fierce and powerful. Never let anyone make you question how great you are because you're amazing. If anyone tells you otherwise they're tripping because who are they to judge your self-worth? I just wanted to remind you guys how great you are if you already didn't know that. Especially to my writers/poets KEEP F*CKING SHARING YOU'RE WORK! If people f*ck with it they f*ck with it if not who cares cause YOU'RE THE SH*T regardless!

Poetry 24: forgive and try to forget

Poetry 24: forgive and try to forget

Today's podcast is brought to you by @hidden_daydreamer (instagram). The words in this poem mean a lot to me because this is how I live my life in which I try to carry positive vibes at all times. I've been through it all, I've had people that hurt me and I've done things that I regret but I realize all you can do is learn from all these experiences. If you've ever been hurt by anyone, which I have and many of you can relate as well, just let that sh*t go. Because if you keep that grudge towards the person that hurt you, it's going to weigh YOUR soul down. As a person, I don't want to carry any negative energy. You can't do anything about the past except to learn from it so don't stress about it. Forget your past, forgive, and begin again right now.

Poetry 23: everyday is different

Poetry 23: everyday is different

Today's podcast is brought to you by @tenebrispoetry (instagram). I wanted to share this poem because it felt so relatable to me. Each day is different and on bad days I question my self-worth. I begin to ponder whether I need to be doing more in life and my mind gets cluttered with many things. On bad days, I start stressing about past decisions that I've made and now regret. In retrospect, I also have days where everything's fine and I'm happy. This love/hate relationship with myself is a horrible feeling but I believe, that's just me being human. On bad days I need to remind myself to not stress out about things that are out of my control.  Take life day by day but be productive each day towards the things you want to accomplish.

Poetry 22: live in the moment

Poetry 22: live in the moment

Today's poem is brought to you by @trainoftalks . I think there's a really important lesson within this poem which is to live in the now. We tend to get caught up in our heads thinking about our past, future, and even our phones distract us from living in the present. All these distractions have caused me to forget the value of living in the now. After messaging the writer of the poem she explained that this poem is written for a loved one that recently passed away (I realized this poem was even more relatable to me), I began to think about how precious life is. People don't really see how valuable life is until you realize how fast life moves. When my grandparents passed away because of cancer it taught me a valuable lesson to live in the present and appreciate what I already have and the little things around me. I wanted to share this poem because I wanted to remind all my followers to live in the now! Especially with today's day and age where we're constantly on our phones 24/7, take some time off, and enjoy family time.

Poetry 21: you are your friends

Poetry 21: you are your friends

Today's podcast is brought to you by @word.sparkle20n (instagram). When I was young my mom would continuously lecture me saying, "You are your friends or you are the people you surround yourself with". At that time I didn't quite understand what that meant, but as I got older what my mom was lecturing about made sense. My mom wanted me to surround myself with friends that have good morales and will help me grow. Show me who your friends are, and I will tell you what you are. This poem reminded me of that important notion to surround yourself with people that will help you grow and have good values. Remember YOU ARE YOUR FRIENDS.

Poetry 20: silence is golden

Poetry 20: silence is golden

Today's poem is brought to you by @musings.and.ink (instagram). This poem reminds me of how important meditation is, especially through tough times like this because of the Coronavirus. It's always good to check on yourself and enjoy some soul time. The world moves fast and I usually get burnt out in some instances. To deal with it and slow things down I begin to meditate. Dig into your thoughts and check on yourself. Your own voice in what matters the most. SILENCE IS GOLDEN.

Poetry 19: you are legend

Poetry 19: you are legend

Today's poem is brought to you by @pattywrites (instagram). I wanted to share this poem with you all just to remind you guys to not be ever ashamed of yourself. Whether it's the color of your skin, your face, your height, & most importantly your personality. You are unique in your own way so don't ever let anyone make you feel bad for embracing yourself. Beauty is only skin deep, what's more important is finding a balance of mind, body, and spirit. YOU ARE LEGEND.

Poetry 18: actions speak louder than words

Poetry 18: actions speak louder than words

Today's poem is brought to you by @_beautifulfailure_ (instagram). I wanted to share this poem because the lesson in this poem is very meaningful. There are two sides to this poem which are; 1) Don't be a person that consistently keeps making the same mistakes after apologizing or regretting that mistake 2) Don't be a person that continues to forgive people that continuously hurt you over and over again because then that person will think saying a simple "I'm sorry" will fix everything. Whichever side you are on don't forget ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.

Poetry 17: you are stronger than your past

Poetry 17: you are stronger than your past

Today's poem is brought to you by @_wordrealm_ (instagram). Whoever has experienced trauma in their past can really connect with this poem. I wanted to share this poem because of its beautiful aesthetic and strong meaning. I can personally relate to this poem based on my childhood, as a child growing up around poverty things weren't easy, but because of these struggles, it made me become a more grateful and humble person. I just wanted to remind everyone that YOU ARE STRONGER THAN YOUR PAST.

Poetry 16: don't judge a book by its cover

Poetry 16: don't judge a book by its cover

Today's poem is brought to you by @lalalandofpoems (instagram).  I personally fancy the aesthetic of this poem, the way the words and art correlate with one other. Growing up I always judged people based on their character and not their looks. What I realize is that everyone has thorns on their stems aka every person is a bit crazy in their own regards, including me of course. You can never judge a book by its cover.

Poetry 15: slow down & zoom out

Poetry 15: slow down & zoom out

Today's poem is brought to you by @a.elise_writer (instagram). I will for sure be keeping this poem in the back of my pocket to view when I am having an unpleasant day. If you're experiencing a bad day, slow down and zoom out. Realize that tomorrow is a new day, a fresh start. Start thinking about your life and how grateful you are to still be alive. Sometimes one little problem can shadow how blessed I am to be in the situation that I am in. Once you zoom out on the problems you're dealing with, you realize how small that problem really is. ZOOM OUT & SLOW DOWN.

Poetry 14: memories don't die

Poetry 14: memories don't die

Today's poem is brought to you by @callistopoet (instagram). This is truly a very sad poem that caught my eye. When I read this poem it reminded me of my past lover. These memories that flash in my mind, although it was so long ago, I wish I could forget them. It brings up a bigger picture of how important memories are to each of us as human beings. Sadly if this poem can relate to anyone reading it, that person that comes up in your mind while reading this poem probably feels the same way about you, but unfortunately MEMORIES DON'T DIE.

Poetry 13: let it go

Poetry 13: let it go

Podcast link in Bio! Today's poem is brought to you by @artfullycat (instagram). As I am getting older I slowly start realizing how valuable time is, so I began being more selective of who the people I give my time for. If you had a falling out with someone because they hurt you, don't let it keep hurting you. That's what the other person wants, but understand you can't let that pain keep bothering you. Let it go and keep positive vibes. There's no point in weighing yourself down.

Poetry 12: change

Poetry 12: change

Podcast Link in Bio! Today's poem is brought to you by @random.poetry.ca (instagram). This poem really reminded me of when I immigrated to the United States when I was 6 years old. At first, I was very scared and I thought I was going to lose everything but I was wrong. 20 plus years later I have created tons of new friendships and opportunities through my time here in the United States. This comes to a bigger topic which is change. A lot of people are scared of change but change is good. Change will test you but will allow you to grow as a person depending on how you react to that change.

Poetry 11: Poetry is Art

Poetry 11: Poetry is Art

Today's poem is brought to you by @the_unprofessional_writer (instagram) . This poem is for all the poets! The amount of meaning and emotions that go into poets' work is unparalleled because the poem itself reflects the writer's life. The writing within those pieces is a piece of the poet's life that they are sharing with the world. The poem itself becomes art based on the person's trauma or experiences that they have been through. If you read a collection of poetry that one person has written, a person that you may not even know,  through those poems it can make you understand that person a lot more. Specifically of who they are? Such as their values, past trauma, and things that they are currently dealing with. POEMS are reflections of their POETS. I APPRECIATE ALL POETS! THANK YOU!

Poetry 10: LOVE

Poetry 10: LOVE

Today's poem is brought to you by @starving.artist.archives (Instagram). I enjoyed this lovely poem because this is my motto towards treating the people I love. The way I approach love is like giving a Christmas gift in which I don't expect or want anything in return. I do things for the people I love not wanting anything in return because I love them whether its a family member, spouse, or friend. I believe that when you do good, blessings will come your way.

Poetry 9: themorningair/bad things aren't bad

Poetry 9: themorningair/bad things aren't bad

Today's poem is brought to you by @themorningair (instagram). This poem is immeasurable because I never saw things in this aspect. I always thought when an unfortunate event within my life occurred that it was all bad, but after reading this poem I realized that bad things have made me become the strong person I am today. An example would be the death of my grandparents who were like a father/mother figure to me. Because of their death, I became a stronger person that appreciates the value of life a lot more. All the bad things that happen in your life has allowed you to become the person you are today. NOT ALL BAD THINGS ARE BAD.

Poetry 8: thewallflowerwriter/lonliness

Poetry 8: thewallflowerwriter/lonliness

Today's poem is brought to you by @thewallflowerwriter (instagram). This poem takes me back to my college days when I went to parties and felt like the odd man out. Although there were many people there I felt even more alone because I was stuck in my own mind. I didn't feel like I fit in and I think that was because of my insecurities. Although that was at the beginning of my college years during my junior and senior year I learned to accept myself and became more social. I learned that you need to accept yourself and open up to people. At the end of the day, you will meet friends that will like you for who you are but for that opportunity to occur you need to open up to others and give people a chance.

Poetry 7: fajsinali/voices in my head

Poetry 7: fajsinali/voices in my head

Today's poem is brought to you by @fajsin.ali.poetry (Instagram). This poem really resonates with me because there have been situations where these thoughts come to my mind towards people I am close with or use to be close with. Whether it was because of a disagreement, different values, or something the other person said, I have cut off those relationships aka buried them. This poem makes me want to become a better communicator because instead of thinking these thoughts I can approach that person and kindly explain the problem I have with them. We are humans and it's only human to feel hate but as humans, we are capable of being a better person each and every day.

Poetry 6: mayonaka/dear someone

Poetry 6: mayonaka/dear someone

You have to have high hopes for a living. Whether you are 18 or 50 you will find your purpose at your own time. Everyone has their own progression and as long as you don't waste any of your days you will find your purpose. The value of life is very important whether you have already found your purpose in life or if you're still looking for that purpose and this piece by Mayonaka is a reminder of that  YOU ARE BROUGHT TO THIS EARTH FOR A REASON. Follow its_mayonaka on Instagram for more amazing pieces like this.

Poetry 5: hiba/pain

Poetry 5: hiba/pain

Pain in temporarily. As humans, we will encounter some kind of situation when we feel great suffering but it's how you rebound from that pain that will determine what type of person you are. I was in great pain when my grandpa passed away and I felt I was drowning in the bottom of the ocean. My grandpa was like a father to me but I regret not spending more time with him when he was alive. Through prayer, I was able to feel better although it took a couple of months. Time heals everything including pain. I didn't want to feel pain anymore and I accepted that my grandpa was in a better place now. I remind myself how grateful I am to still be alive, to be able to breathe this fresh air, and to have people around me that still love me.

Poetry 4: nikita/dreamer

Poetry 4: nikita/dreamer

Today's poem is brought to you by @life_is_poetry3(instagram username). Being an over-thinker can cause a person to become stagnant and doubt oneself. For any dreams/goals anyone wants to accomplish, PURSUE THEM. Overthinking can cause a person to become fearful of following their dreams because many doubts come to mind why you won't accomplish your goal whether it not being good enough, not rich enough, or popular enough, etc. An example is this podcast of mine. Many doubts and questions came into my mind before starting my podcast such as who's going to listen to my podcast? Who's going to care about my podcast? At the end of the day, I believe in myself and didn't overthink any more and started my podcast. Have big dreams and pursue them with actions, don't overthink it. TAKE A CHANCE.

Poetry 3: b.i.w

Poetry 3: b.i.w

This poem made me feel regretful for not keeping a daily journal when I was younger. If I was to go back 10-15 years from now, I would tell my past self to keep a daily journal and write in it every day so the future me can look back and read those journal entries. My advice to any teenage/child reading this, keep a daily journal so one day you can read it. It'll be worth it. You'll read things, your memories won't even remember. WRITING IS FOREVER.

Poetry 2: sauryavat/self-worth

Poetry 2: sauryavat/self-worth

Today's poem is brought to you by sauryavat (instagram username)  you can check more of sauryavats work on her Instagram page. There are a lot of wonderful poems within her page and I will for sure be reading more of her work in the future. A relationship with anyone is a 50/50 split in which the people involved must do their part for the relationship to be healthy and functioning, but at the same time, you need to realize that you can only control your part of the 50. When the other person isn't putting the same effort within that relationship then the relationship becomes inbalance. Instead of it being 50 + 50 which equals 100, instead, it becomes 70 + 30 which still equals 100, but one person is putting more effort into that relationship and catering to the other person ahead of themselves. I've been in many relationships where the love wasn't reciprocated back equally and sadly I had to cut ties with those relationships. Although it was hard at the end of the day your self-worth comes first and you shouldn't have to question your self-worth within a relationship.

Poetry 1: rupi kaur

Poetry 1: rupi kaur

Today's poem is brought to you by rupi kaur from her world-renowned book, "Milk and Honey". Rupi Kaur is one of my favorite poets if not is my favorite poet and this poem exemplifies the meaning of self-help. The importance of self-help shouldn't be frowned upon because it can correlate to that person's daily life. One needs to be mentally stable to be able to have a good relationship with a future partner.
