We are thrilled to present to you our final episode of the semester! Our guest closing out this "season" of UNCENSORED is Elena Nuñez, a junior studying marketing, and sports administration. Elena has recently been apart of founding the first chapter of Gamma Phi Omega at the University of Louisville, which will mark the first Latina-oriented sorority on our campus. She discusses her experience founding and acting as VP for this chapter of Gamma Phi Omega, including what helping to create this sisterhood for generations of women to come has meant to her. She also discusses her future career goals, and how she was able to find the area in sports administration she feels most passionate about. Together, we discuss the importance of universities having inclusive spaces for all of their students, the frustrations that can come when it is up to us to work to create these spaces when they are not there, and more. Hi Cards and welcome back! For the second spring semester episode of UNCENSORED, we are joined by one of UofL's most incredible and hardworking student leaders, Afi Tagnedji. Afi is a sophomore Martin Luther King and Porter Scholar, studying biochemistry, mathematics, and chemistry. Join us and learn about the deeply important and impactful work Afi has done as the chair of UofL's Diversity and Inclusion Committee, including reworking the Cardinal Core requirements to incorporate a truly diverse scope of classes. We also discuss her two new leadership positions for this upcoming school year, ELSB Executive Director and President of A&S College, and what inspired her to take them on, as well the ideas for projects and initiatives she hopes to accomplish. Together, we also discuss anti-racist initiatives, the important distinction between intention and action, the future of student leadership at UofL, and so much more! The first spring semester episode of UNCENSORED has arrived! Welcome back, we're happy you're here. This episode features perhaps our liveliest discussion yet. We are joined by a new co-host, De'Asia Beard, who is serving as the current vice-chair for SAB's Diversity committee, as well as returning co-host and Diversity committee chair Lilah Kahloon. Our guest is Gabrielle Mabra, a current UofL senior who also served as the host for SAB's 19th Annual International Fashion Show. Sit back, grab a snack, and join us for an unfiltered conversation about the recent Oprah interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, and the greater discussion it sparks about colorism, racism, and the backlash of sharing your trauma as a woman of color. We also share our own experiences as young women of color as we navigate the desire to stand up and speak out against racist rhetoric and actions, while also maintaining our mental health and physical health.

Hello again! This episode features Zoha Mian, a first-year medical student at the University of Louisville's School of Medicine. We shift to diversity and inclusion issues at ULSOM, and the ways in which the school aims to incorporate a curriculum focused on equity. Zoha shares her experience as a woman of color pursuing a career in medicine, as well as her thoughts on how structural bias can plague the medical school admissions process. Together we discuss some of the causes and manifestations of systemic racism within healthcare and much more.

Welcome back! This episode features Ashanti Scott, a sophomore at the University of Louisville. With us, she shares her experiences participating in the protest movement happening here in Louisville, and the call to action work as part of the ongoing fight for justice for Breonna Taylor. She also divulges her experiences as a young Black woman on UofL's campus, providing her insight as to whether the school is truly "the premier antiracist university."  Together, we discuss the university's response to the recent grand jury decision, how the university can better stand in solidarity with its Black students, the importance of avoiding performative activism, and more.

The first episode of the UNCENSORED podcast is here! This episode features the co-directors of ELSB's Community Peace committee, Eli Cooper and Madison Fogle.  These two share their own experiences as Queer individuals on campus, as well as shine light on the issues that can impact many other Queer identifying students. Together, we discuss ways in which UofL can better serve and provide a safe space for its Queer students, how the university can redirect funding to benefit marginalized students, and more.
