S1E13: Amateur FA Referee Development Officer - Deryll David

This week we are joined by Deryll David who is the Referee Development Officer for the Amateur FA and also deals with Football Services at the AFA. Deryll is an active Level 4 referee operating up to the Contributory League and even gives his spare time to some games on the Southern Amateur League to stay in touch with grassroots football. 

Deryll has also been recently selected as the Match Referee for the SAL Senior Cup Final a reward after 8 years of service to the League as a Referee.

Eric who is from Actonians Association (Formally Old Actonians) shares with us what its like in the role and also his role within the club, the County FA as a Referee and Observer and much more!

This week we are tuning into an interview that we did a few weeks ago now while in lockdown with one of the Leagues experienced officials, Andy Demetriades. Andy has seen a lot of things in his career as a player and referee and we spend some time having a chat with him about his SAL experience! 

A great listen that i'm sure a lot of referees can relate too and also a number of players will be able to gain a slightly better idea of the role of a referee and what they go through.

Representative Team Manager for the past 21 years we take some time to dive in to some stories from taking on the role to that amazing FA Inter League Cup competition in 2008 that saw the Southern Amateur League become National Champions. This first part of 2 episodes is a great kick off chat for the podcast!
