20,000 Leagues Under The Sea (1954) - Whale Milk
20,000 Leagues Under The Sea (1954) Movie Review: The Salty Nerds dive into this classic story based on the novel by Jules Verne and produced by the legendary Walt Disney. Starring Kirk Douglas and James Mason, this "retro" movie takes you on an underwater adventure that actually heavily inspired the Pirates of the Caribbean films, oddly enough. What is your 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea review? Did you love it? Hate it? What are your thoughts on giant squids? Let us know in the comments!
The Wedding Singer (1998) - Jude & Matt Celebration
The Nerds talk about the most romantic movie ever - The Wedding Singer, starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore from 1998. Oh, and they also celebrate the marriage of Jude and Kadish! Huzzah!
Viva Las Vegas (1964) - Look Out, Man!
Viva Las Vegas (1964) Movie Review: The Salty Nerds experience the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas in 1964 in this film about a race car driver preparing for the Grand Prix while working as a waiter to pay for his new engine. Elvis Presley stars as this waiter who strikes up a whirlwind romance with a gorgeous young woman, played by Ann-Margret, who can do WAY better than a broke waiter. This movie is filled with musical numbers, senseless killing, and plenty of good ol' misogyny! Everything you could possibly want from a 1964 movie! So grab your blue sued shoes and get ready to be entertained! What is your Viva Las Vegas movie review? Did you love it? Hate it? Did it make you want to shake your hips? Let us know in the comments!
Invasion Season 2 Episode 10 - DUMB AF! ft. Smitty's Snippets
Just when you thought Season 2 of AppleTV's Invasion couldn't get any worse, we get the season finale, which is boring, confusing, AND has nothing happen... again. One of the dumb AF finales we've ever seen. God, we hope this doesn't get a season 3! Joining us to share our misery is Smitty's Snippets! Check out his channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@smittyssnippets1358
Invasion Season 2 Episode 9 - Worst Penultimate Ever
It's the second to last episode of Invasion Season 2, and nothing happens. It's also the shortest episode. And it's very, very dumb. This is not how you do a Penultimate episode. The episode name is "Breakthrough" but the only thing the Salty Nerds want to break through is a brick wall with their heads because this show is such a pain to watch! Go F-yourself, show. ALIEN (1979) - The Cat & The Alien
The Cat was in on it.
The Shining (1980) Is An Overrated Piece Of Trash
The Nerds talk about The Shining (1980) and how this beloved horror classic may actually be a bloated, pretentious, overrated, piece of trash. The table is definitely divided over what Kadish calls Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece. And though Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall deliver amazing performances, that's not enough for Alex and Vader like this movie. What do you think of this adaptation of the Stephen King novel? Is it a classic? It it pretentious? Is it overrated? Is it absolute trash? Which Nerds are you siding with in this review? Invasion Season 2 Episode 8 - Click Clacking
Trevante's brilliant plan is revealed, and he's STILL upset he's thrown in jail. Casper's crew finds the seizure kids and start drawing stuff. Monty is quickly becoming the best character in the show, and Indian Elon Musk mans up to blast aliens with magnets. Oh, and Mitsuki gets a magic wand and figures out what the alien language sounds like!
Yes, 8 episodes have lead to... nothing. Pretty much nothing. This show is awful.

The Descent (2005)
The Salty Nerds talk about one of the most intense cave movies of all time, Neil Marshall's classic spelunking horror film - The Descent. What happens when a group of women go exploring a cave? Why, shenanigans, of course! And lots of creepy cave demons! But who is the real villain in this movie? Hint: It's not the cave demons! What is your The Descent Review? Did you love it? Hate it? Why can't women ever get along? Let us know in the comments!
Invasion Season 2 Episode 7
The Nerds review another episode of AppleTV's Invasion. And guess what? Nothing happens. Again. Well, stuff happens, but none of it really matters. Yes, this is the SEVENTH episode of nothing happening. Riveting TV, is it not?
Aneesha is still the worst mother ever, and she's terrible to everyone. In fact, she's now resorting to torture! Harvard educated torture, apparently. The Casper crew is reunited and there's a love triangle happening that no one cares about. And Trevante keeps sneaking into secure military bases and crawling into alien silos. Fun!

Invasion Season 2 Episode 6 - The Sex Dungeon Episode
Invasion Season 2 Episode 5 entitled "Pressure Points" is actually all about torturing the audience with three very stupid and boring story arcs rather than applying pressure to anything important. Discount Zendaya and the Casper Crew make it to Paris, stay in Monty's dad's swingin' sex dungeon apartment, and finally find Casper. Aneesha gets in a car wreck, rescues a stupid little girl, and has Luke mind-meld with an alien. And Mitsuki gets all kinds of freaky with the alien butthole. That's it. That's all that happens. Get your "Canadian Mist" ready, because this is going to be a rough episode to get through! What did you think of Invasion Season 2 Episode 5, Pressure Points? Did you love it? Hate it? Did you really, really, really hate it? Let us know in the comments! Special shoutout to Smitty's Snippets, who's the only other YouTuber covering this dumb show: https://www.youtube.com/@smittyssnippets1358
Scream (1996)
The Salty Nerds revisit SCREAM (1996), the movie that revitalized the wanning Slasher genre of horror films, mixing in meta-awareness with tried-and-true horror tropes, and a healthy dose of Agatha Christie-style "whodunit" mystery. However, not ALL the Salty Nerds feel the same way about this movie that kicked off the SCREAM franchise, which stars Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, David Arquette, and was directed by legendary horror director Wes Craven. Their takes might surprise you! What is your SCREAM movie review? Did you love it? Hate it? Did you guess who the killer was? Let us know in the comments!
The Expendables: Old But Gold
What happens when you get a bunch of aging action stars and MMA fighters
together? You get The Expendables, of course! Who doesn't want to see
your favorite action movie icons from the 80s and 90s team up with MMA
fighters and new action icons to whoop some butt?
The Salty Nerds
debate the merits of this "Ageing action" film, written and directed by
Sylvester Stallone himself, and starring all his buddies like Arnold
Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture,
Jason Statham, Steve Austin, Terry Crews, and Mickey Rourke.

Invasion Season 2 Episode 5 - NOTHING HAPPENS
Just when you thought this show couldn't get more boring, Episode 5 of Season 2, entitled "A Voice From The Other Side" drops. And guess what? Nothing happens the entire episode. You might as well skip this one for as little the plot progresses. Luckily, the Salty Nerds watched it so you don't have to! And they explain how nothing happens in long, drawn-out, excruciating detail. What is your review of Invasion season 2 episode 5? Did you like it? Hate it? Did you fall asleep during it? The Glimmer Man (1996) - Was This The Last GOOD Steven Seagal Movie???
Before his exile to direct-to-video releases, Steven Seagal used to be a movie star! And his movies were actually released in theaters. The Salty Nerds review The Glimmer Man from 1996, the last theatrical release for everyone's favorite pony tailed tough guy, Steven Seagal. In a buddy cop movie with Keenen Ivory Wayans, a Buddhist pacifist cop is on a quest to catch a serial killer, but his past as a secret, elite, CIA assassin catches up with him and he's forced to once more become The Glimmer Man to mete out justice to a whole lot of bad hombres. Invasion Season 2 Episode 4 - They're Worse
How do you follow-up an episode that ends with shooting seven alien spaceships out of the sky with nukes? With an hour of pre-teens walking through a tunnel, of course!
Episode 4 of Invasion Season 2 is called The Tunnel. Because it all happens in a tunnel. The Casper Crew make it to the Chunnel and break in, somehow trekking all 31 miles of the Chunnel in record time while being hounded by new and improved aliens. Yes, the aliens... are worse.

Over The Top (1987) - The Greatest Movie About Professional Arm-Wrestling Ever!
The Salty Nerds talk about the Sylvester Stallone classic Over The Top (1987). A film about a man and his son who like to drive big rig trucks and break arms arm-wrestling.
When his ex-wife is in the hospital, truck driver Lincoln Hawk decides to pick up his estranged son from military school and try to reconnect after years of not caring. But jealous grandpa Robert Loggia isn't having any of that father-son bonding nonsense and sends goons to kidnap his grandson back!

Invasion Season 2 Episode 3 - They Ran Out Of Money!
This was supposed to be a big, epic episode in season 2 of Invasion where humanity fights back against the aliens, but it's pretty obvious the show just didn't have the budget for it. We get three storylines in this episode, called FIREWORKS, following Aneesha, Mitsuki, and Trevante. Unfortunately, only one of them is kind-of interesting, and it's painfully clear the writers of this show have no idea how nuclear weapons work. What is your Invasion Season 2 Episode 3 review? Conan The Destroyer (1984) Is A TERRIBLE Barbarian Movie
The Salty Nerds watch Conan The Destroyer (1984) and quickly realize why PG rated barbarian movies don't really work all that well. With a jailbait leading lady and a half-nekkid Arnold Schwarzenegger, this is one of the most bizarre Conan movies ever made.

Trevante decides to go to Oklahoma while the Casper Crew decide to go to Paris.
That's it. That's the whole episode.

Hard Boiled (1992) - Why This Hong Kong Film Is The Greatest Action Movie Ever Made
It's Kadish's birthday! And to celebrate, he chose to watch John Woo's classic action film from 1992 - Hard Boiled. Starring Chow Yun-Fat and Tony Leung Chiu-wai about two Hong Kong policemen who get embroiled in a dangerous arms smuggling Triad.
This is an action movie so amazing, it influenced Hollywood to step up its game and inspired action directors such as Zack Snyder and Michael Bay. Admittedly, the story leaves something to be desired, but the action scenes are next-level amazing!

Invasion Season 2 Episode 1 - Nothing's Changed
One of the worst TV shows ever made is back - Apple TV's INVASION returns with the first episode of season 2, titled "Something's Changed." But NOTHING has actually changed for the show itself, because it's still as nonsensical and boring as ever.
The Salty Nerds talk about the storylines of Aneesha Malik and Mitsuki Yamato, as well as introducing new characters like Global Girlboss, Indian Elon Musk, Ketchup Girl, and Joel from The Last Of Us. It's been four months since the events of season 1, but all the kids look like they've aged 5 years. Oh, and there is a sweet David Bowie montage.

The Meg 1 vs The Meg 2 - Which Is Dumber? (Jason Statham Edition)
The Meg was dumb. The Meg 2 blew it out of the water in terms of dumbness. And the Salty Nerds have a LOT to complain about! Jason Statham is back as everyone's favorite rescue diver, who now is more like James Bond than a former military man. When Statham isn't kicking butt and flipping jet skis in slow motion, he's a single dad trying to raise an intrepid teenage girl while ignoring things like the laws of science and any lick of common sense. This movie is supposedly an adaptation of a book, but apparently it just uses the book's title and a giant shark and makes the rest up, much to Jude's dismay. What is your The Meg 2 review? Warrior Season 3 Episode 10: Prepare For Epicness
The finale of Warrior Season 3 is finally here, and boy-oh-boy, is it a good one! In fact, the Salty Nerds say that it's one of the best finales to a season of TV that they've ever seen. Lots of story threads are tied up and brought to a satisfying conclusion, while new possibilities are teased for a potential 4th season.
LOTS of crazy stuff happens this episode, and the kung fu fights are intense! We're sad to see this season go, but we're immensely happy with how it went!

Do you like hot chicks? Do you like sharks? Do you like hot chicks and sharks fighting to the death? Then we have a movie for you! A little sleeper of a film called The Shallows from 2016, starring Blake Lively and... no one else.
The Salty Nerds continue with their August Bites 2023 watches with this film about a former medical student who goes to a secluded beach to surf but gets stranded on a rock when she accidentally wades into a deadly shark's feeding ground. Hilarity ensues.

Warrior Season 3 Episode 9 - Bros Before Hoes
It's the PENULTIMATE episode of Warrior season 3, and whoa boy, is this one heck of an episode! Lots of stuff set up earlier in the season is starting to pay off, and that means lots of people are dying! What do the Salty Nerds have to say about "All of Death Is a Going Home"?
Well, we got some blue balls from the opening scene where Lai finally confronts Strictland. Big Bill finally gets his dream job. Father Jun and Young Jun come to terms. Leary and Strictland have a really, REALLY bad break up. And MattVader is very upset with Ah Sahm because you never put hoes before bros (apparently).

Warrior Season 3 Episode 8- Hoon Lee's Red Wedding
Hey everyone! Mai Ling is getting married! Which means lots of people are gonna die!
This is a real banger of an episode, written by Mr. Chow himself, Hoon Lee! And nothing brings a show's characters together like a marriage. This time, Li Yong is getting hitched to Mai Ling, and everyone is invited! Including Big D Lee and his partner, who think it's kinda fishy that the Tongs are all hanging out together.
Buckley is now mayor and Leary is itching to start calling in favors, but first he goes to Big Bill, who just got promoted at the concrete factory, to help him get some good old Lados out of the clink. This leads to Bill brawling with Kevin Spacey, and some nasty things heading Bill's way.Chow and Lee have a good old frenemies moment, and speaking of frenemies, Young Jun is planning to kill Ah Sahm's new girlfriend. Ah Toy murders some rival pimps with a fan, and Lai is up to no good at Strickland's place.

How Rambo: First Blood Part 2 Redefined Action Movies
The Salty Nerds review Rambo First Blood Part 2 from 1985, one of the most glorious action movies of the period which cemented John Rambo as the embodiment of action movie machismo for all of the 1980s.
Though the movie is inherently "anti war" the one-man army of Rambo quickly came to embody how awesome America and its military was, and was even screened at the White House for President Ronald Reagan.
This also marked the turn for Sylvester Stallone into becoming one of Hollywood's top action stars. What is your Rambo First Blood Part 2 movie review? Did you love it? Hate it? Do you get to win this time? Let us know in our Discord server: http://www.saltynerddiscord.com

Father Jun recovers from his gunshot wound, but at a big cost to his mental state.
Mai Ling starts inviting everyone to her wedding while Ah Toy is dealing with a rival pimp. Big Bill gets a new job, but it's not all its cracked up to be. And Leary tries to avert another riot by dealing with the real power in Chinatown - Ah Sahm.

Con-Air (1997) - So Bad It's Good?
The Salty Nerds get their 90s on as they watch one of Nic Cage's first forays into the blockbuster action genre after is major Oscar win for leaving Las Vegas, the delightfully cheesy (and some would say STUPID) Con Air.
Directed by Simon West and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer in his first solo outing after his partner Don Simpson died, Con Air has a stellar ensemble cast who are all aware that the movie is terrible, but they're doing it for the money anyway.
Nic Cage has the worst southern accent ever. John Malkovich as Cyrus the Virus hates every moment he's on screen. Dave Chapelle ad-libs every line he has. Danny Trejo is just looking to get laid. And that girl from Total Recall plays a prison guard. All this and more in Con Air!

Maximum Overdrive (1986) - Steven King Does Truckloads Of Cocaine!
The Salty Nerds decide to sit down and watch Steven King's directorial
debut - Maximum Overdrive! A movie that Steven King doesn't even
remember making because he was doing so much cocaine at the time.
This
is a movie where a comet bathes the Earth in radiation and allows

humanity. We join an intrepid Emilio Estevez at a truck stop with a
pile of military-grade weaponry and waitresses who like to scream "WE
MADE YOU" and passing murder trucks.

Red Dawn (1984) - The Art Of Fighting Dirty Commies
The Salty Nerds talk about one of the quintessential 80s action movies from writer and director John Milius - Red Dawn, from 1984.
Starring most of the cast from The Outsiders, including Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell, Charlie Sheen, Darren Dalton, Powers Boothe, Lea Thompson, and Jennifer Grey, this is a movie that explores the idea of World War III, told from the point of view of a small group of high school kids from a small town in Colorado.
This movie is about teenagers fighting a Russian invasion of the United States. Is it uber-patriotic? Or is it a subversive anti-war movie? We report - you decide!
What is your Red Dawn review? Do you think the version with Chris Hemsworth is better? Do you think fighting Russians is cool? Do you just like to go around shouting WOLVERINES!? BD Lee is taking his job as a Secret Service agent seriously and tracking down the Hop Wei counterfeit ring right to their headquarters! Ah Toy gives up on the Lesbian Vinyard and goes back to doing what she knows best - looking fabulous and running brothels. Buckley finds his Lady McBeth (who totally doesn't have red hair) as Leary makes an alliance with Strickland, who totally steals Davenport's land for his railroad. And while both Young Jun and Mai Ling get arrested, Ah Sahm becomes the Chinese Batman and gets sticky with Yan Mi. All this leads up to the midseason episode!
