Howdy Nerds! Sorry for the lack of posting lately, we've been trying to figure out our new format. In this episode we talk about avant-garde filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky and his early attempt to be the first to adapt Dune to the big screen. It's a crazy tale, and the Nerds have a lot to say about it! We also talk about the feud between Kanye West and the Osbournes, the bizarre true stories that inspired True Detective Night Country, HALO season 2, and more!

Trevante's brilliant plan is revealed, and he's STILL upset he's thrown in jail.  Casper's crew finds the seizure kids and start drawing stuff.  Monty is quickly becoming the best character in the show, and Indian Elon Musk mans up to blast aliens with magnets.  Oh, and Mitsuki gets a magic wand and figures out what the alien language sounds like!

Yes, 8 episodes have lead to... nothing.  Pretty much nothing.  This show is awful.

The Nerds review another episode of AppleTV's Invasion. And guess what? Nothing happens. Again. Well, stuff happens, but none of it really matters. Yes, this is the SEVENTH episode of nothing happening. Riveting TV, is it not?

Aneesha is still the worst mother ever, and she's terrible to everyone. In fact, she's now resorting to torture! Harvard educated torture, apparently. The Casper crew is reunited and there's a love triangle happening that no one cares about. And Trevante keeps sneaking into secure military bases and crawling into alien silos. Fun!

How do you follow-up an episode that ends with shooting seven alien spaceships out of the sky with nukes? With an hour of pre-teens walking through a tunnel, of course!

Episode 4 of Invasion Season 2 is called The Tunnel. Because it all happens in a tunnel. The Casper Crew make it to the Chunnel and break in, somehow trekking all 31 miles of the Chunnel in record time while being hounded by new and improved aliens. Yes, the aliens... are worse.

The Salty Nerds talk about the Sylvester Stallone classic Over The Top (1987). A film about a man and his son who like to drive big rig trucks and break arms arm-wrestling.

When his ex-wife is in the hospital, truck driver Lincoln Hawk decides to pick up his estranged son from military school and try to reconnect after years of not caring. But jealous grandpa Robert Loggia isn't having any of that father-son bonding nonsense and sends goons to kidnap his grandson back!

Now, the only way Hawk can win back the love of his child is to become an arm wrestling champion! And he's about to go... OVER THE TOP!

The Salty Nerds watch Conan The Destroyer (1984) and quickly realize why PG rated barbarian movies don't really work all that well. With a jailbait leading lady and a half-nekkid Arnold Schwarzenegger, this is one of the most bizarre Conan movies ever made.

Invasion gets back to everyone's favorite jerk soldier, Trevante Cole, and his Miami adventures, along with Discount Zendaya and the Casper Crew.

Trevante decides to go to Oklahoma while the Casper Crew decide to go to Paris.

Just when you think Invasion might be trying to course correct and get good, we get episode 2 of season 2, "Chasing Ghosts", where literally nothing happens for 45 minutes.

It's Kadish's birthday! And to celebrate, he chose to watch John Woo's classic action film from 1992 - Hard Boiled. Starring Chow Yun-Fat and Tony Leung Chiu-wai about two Hong Kong policemen who get embroiled in a dangerous arms smuggling Triad.

This is an action movie so amazing, it influenced Hollywood to step up its game and inspired action directors such as Zack Snyder and Michael Bay. Admittedly, the story leaves something to be desired, but the action scenes are next-level amazing!

One of the worst TV shows ever made is back - Apple TV's INVASION returns with the first episode of season 2, titled "Something's Changed." But NOTHING has actually changed for the show itself, because it's still as nonsensical and boring as ever.

The Salty Nerds talk about the storylines of Aneesha Malik and Mitsuki Yamato, as well as introducing new characters like Global Girlboss, Indian Elon Musk, Ketchup Girl, and Joel from The Last Of Us. It's been four months since the events of season 1, but all the kids look like they've aged 5 years. Oh, and there is a sweet David Bowie montage.

The Salty Nerds return to their most detested TV show ever - INVASION on Apple TV. In preparation for season 2, the Nerds go over all the events that occurred in Season 1. All the terrible, slow, boring, monotonous, pointless events. Luckily, you don't have to watch the show now! Huzzah!

The finale of Warrior Season 3 is finally here, and boy-oh-boy, is it a good one! In fact, the Salty Nerds say that it's one of the best finales to a season of TV that they've ever seen. Lots of story threads are tied up and brought to a satisfying conclusion, while new possibilities are teased for a potential 4th season.

LOTS of crazy stuff happens this episode, and the kung fu fights are intense! We're sad to see this season go, but we're immensely happy with how it went!

Do you like hot chicks? Do you like sharks? Do you like hot chicks and sharks fighting to the death? Then we have a movie for you! A little sleeper of a film called The Shallows from 2016, starring Blake Lively and... no one else.

The Salty Nerds continue with their August Bites 2023 watches with this film about a former medical student who goes to a secluded beach to surf but gets stranded on a rock when she accidentally wades into a deadly shark's feeding ground. Hilarity ensues.

It's the PENULTIMATE episode of Warrior season 3, and whoa boy, is this one heck of an episode! Lots of stuff set up earlier in the season is starting to pay off, and that means lots of people are dying! What do the Salty Nerds have to say about "All of Death Is a Going Home"?

Well, we got some blue balls from the opening scene where Lai finally confronts Strictland. Big Bill finally gets his dream job. Father Jun and Young Jun come to terms. Leary and Strictland have a really, REALLY bad break up. And MattVader is very upset with Ah Sahm because you never put hoes before bros (apparently).

The Salty Nerds review the new shark movie The Black Demon, about a supernatural shark some Mayan God unleashes to punish humanity because humans ruin the environment, or something.

Thing is, there isn't much shark in this "shark movie." But we do get a lot of Josh Lucas doing... things.

Hey everyone! Mai Ling is getting married! Which means lots of people are gonna die!

This is a real banger of an episode, written by Mr. Chow himself, Hoon Lee! And nothing brings a show's characters together like a marriage. This time, Li Yong is getting hitched to Mai Ling, and everyone is invited! Including Big D Lee and his partner, who think it's kinda fishy that the Tongs are all hanging out together.

Buckley is now mayor and Leary is itching to start calling in favors, but first he goes to Big Bill, who just got promoted at the concrete factory, to help him get some good old Lados out of the clink. This leads to Bill brawling with Kevin Spacey, and some nasty things heading Bill's way.Chow and Lee have a good old frenemies moment, and speaking of frenemies, Young Jun is planning to kill Ah Sahm's new girlfriend. Ah Toy murders some rival pimps with a fan, and Lai is up to no good at Strickland's place.

The Salty Nerds review Rambo First Blood Part 2 from 1985, one of the most glorious action movies of the period which cemented John Rambo as the embodiment of action movie machismo for all of the 1980s.

Though the movie is inherently "anti war" the one-man army of Rambo quickly came to embody how awesome America and its military was, and was even screened at the White House for President Ronald Reagan.

In the seventh episode of the MAX Original series Warrior, entitled Gotta Be Crooked To Get Along In A Crooked World, Big D Lee and Chow return to dish out some revenge on Happy Jack - who's not going to be happy very longer. Father Jun recovers from his gunshot wound, but at a big cost to his mental state.

Mai Ling starts inviting everyone to her wedding while Ah Toy is dealing with a rival pimp. Big Bill gets a new job, but it's not all its cracked up to be. And Leary tries to avert another riot by dealing with the real power in Chinatown - Ah Sahm.

The Salty Nerds get their 90s on as they watch one of Nic Cage's first forays into the blockbuster action genre after is major Oscar win for leaving Las Vegas, the delightfully cheesy (and some would say STUPID) Con Air.

Directed by Simon West and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer in his first solo outing after his partner Don Simpson died, Con Air has a stellar ensemble cast who are all aware that the movie is terrible, but they're doing it for the money anyway.

Nic Cage has the worst southern accent ever. John Malkovich as Cyrus the Virus hates every moment he's on screen. Dave Chapelle ad-libs every line he has. Danny Trejo is just looking to get laid. And that girl from Total Recall plays a prison guard. All this and more in Con Air!

We finally get our bottle episode for Warrior Season 3 - sort of. It's a half-bottle episode where Ah Sahm, Young Jun, and Father Jun leave San Francisco and go to a silver mine town to get crazy sticky with the ultimate German prostitute. Meanwhile, Chow and Big D Lee team up, Lethal Weapon Style, on the midnight train to Georgia. Also, Leary discovers what real whiskey tastes like.

The Salty Nerds talk about one of the quintessential 80s action movies from writer and director John Milius - Red Dawn, from 1984.

Starring most of the cast from The Outsiders, including Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell, Charlie Sheen, Darren Dalton, Powers Boothe, Lea Thompson, and Jennifer Grey, this is a movie that explores the idea of World War III, told from the point of view of a small group of high school kids from a small town in Colorado.

This movie is about teenagers fighting a Russian invasion of the United States. Is it uber-patriotic? Or is it a subversive anti-war movie? We report - you decide!

In this video, we're going to review the 1995 movie The Hunted, starring Christopher Lambert and John Lone, about an "American" computer salesman who gets caught up in a web of intrigue and revenge in a generations-long feud between a deadly ninja clan and a dying samurai family.

Recommended to us by film director Len Kabasinski, this J.F. Lawton movie (also starring Yoshio Harada and Joan Chen) is surprisingly amazing. The Hunted is a movie no one knows about, but that's definitely not a bad thing! This movie is a fun action thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire way through. If you're a ninja or samurai fan, then you'll love this movie!
