Episode 115: The Last Supper

Episode 115: The Last Supper

We're going out with a bang.

With Sam's move to broadcasting pro ball, we're hanging up the microphones -- at least for a while. To send us off into the extended hiatus sunset, we sat down with some of our favorite friends and guests in a jam-packed final episode. This is easily the longest episode we've done, so get ready for nearly three hours of mostly remembering guys.

Before the guests begin, we do talk about Edwin Diaz, his injury, and the larger discourses that go along with the WBC.

About 16 minutes in, our first guest is Matt Mancuso (@MattyCuso on Twitter). Matt is a longtime contributor at MetsMerized and Baseball Cloud. He's also a childhood friend of Sam's!

After Matt, we welcome in Michael Mayer (@MikeMayer22), executive editor at MetsMerized and a former guest of the pod.

Then, it's guest and one-time guest host Rob Piersall (@RTPiersall), site lead at MetsLegends and former MetsMerized colleague of ours!

And finally, we return to a familiar chaos format. Three friends of the pod at the same time. Among them: professional pitcher and vlogger Tom Hackimer (@HackAttackimer), screen printer and Jeopardy! contestant Abigail Noy (@BringDaNoyz), and everyone's favorite internet gremlin, Richard Staff (@RichardStaff). It's a loaded, chaotic time. But it's fun. I think you can handle it. Be sure to listen closely for a discount code for Abigail's website, sympatheticinker.com.

It's been an absolute pleasure to bring 115 episodes' worth of content to you. Whether this is your first episode or 115th, thank you for being part of this journey. And for one final time, enjoy!!

Episode 114: Jack Assured Us There Would be NO Perfect Game

HEY!

This week, we're talking WBC. We're talking Mets' injuries. We're talking about how Jack said team Israel would absolutely get a baserunner. We're talking about the Mets' bullpen. We're talking about about a special announcement that Sam has *eyes emoji*.

Enjoy.

Episode 113: Jose Quintana is Not an Elephant

Episode 113: Jose Quintana is Not an Elephant

Hello Mets fans,

On this week's pod, we discuss baseball. More specifically, we discuss the Mets. More specifically, we discuss relevant current storylines about the Mets. Some examples from this episode include: the current discourses surrounding Ronny Mauricio and Mark Vientos based on spring performances, Kodai Senga's spring debut, Jose Quintana's rib injury and how that leads to an opportunity for David Peterson, and more. We hope you enjoy.

Episode 112: We Get to Talk About Real Baseball Now

Welcome to spring training! There's game action going on! There are pitch clocks! There's Brett Baty hitting the tar out of baseballs! There's 10% less Daniel Vogelbach! There's John Curtiss and things of that nature! Everyone throws a cutter now! It's Mets baseball and it's back, baby!

Go read Jack's John Maine article. It's good.

Episode 109: Definitely Not Episode 108

*Disclaimer: We know we called this episode 108. That's a mistake. Pretend we're saying it's episode 109. It's episode 109*

This week! Ok, we've recovered from Carlos Correa. The Mets' big rebound move is...Tommy Pham? Let's talk about that.

Plus! Some clarity on where the Mets might go to round out the bullpen.

And! A brief retrospective on some of the prospects the Mets have traded away in recent years.

Finally! A pretty detailed look at this year's and next year's Hall of Fame ballot and the discourse surrounding it all.

Also, Sam wrote an article about a Friend of the Pod for a Friend of the Pod's blog. Check it out on our Twitter (@thePGEPod).

Enjoy!

Episode 108: Ok Correa is not a Met.

Just a raw, unedited, rant. No music. We're sad. Correa is a Twin. Find some peace with us as we talk out our feelings.

Episode 107: Is Carlos Correa a Met?

Episode 107: Is Carlos Correa a Met?

Happy 2023 from PGE! The end of the year was quite wild in Metsland. Carlos Correa maybe sorta failed his Mets physical, or at least the Mets have concerns similar to the concerns that caused the Giants to back out of his initial contract. There's been almost dead silence about it over the holidays, and this week we dive into what we know and try to make sense out of it.

Plus, other news and notes we haven't talked about yet. James McCann is an Oriole. Dom Smith is a National. And, should the Mets trade Eduardo Escobar or Luis Guillorme or neither if they do make the Correa signing official?

Enjoy!

Episode 106: It's About Sending A Message

Episode 106: It's About Sending A Message

Uncle Steviepilled.

Kodai Senga is officially a Met. He seems very fun. We're thrilled.

And the Mets just don't stop. Although they didn't land Carlos Correa, Steve Cohen's 11th-hour bid to bring yet another star to Queens had us feeling some type of way. He just doesn't stop.

That now includes Omar Narvaez. We chatted about how he fits into the Mets' catching plans and if this indicates something about Francisco Alvarez to us. We go galaxy brain. Perhaps even a little Shohei Ohtani forecasting as a result of our galaxy brains.

Enjoy.

Episode 105: 8 More Years of Brandon Nimmo!!

Episode 105: 8 More Years of Brandon Nimmo!!

Pretty much all you need to know about this one is that about four minutes into recording, news broke that the Mets re-signed Brandon Nimmo to an eight-year contract. News broke that the Mets were signing reliever David Robertson shortly thereafter. We got live reactions. It rocked. Enjoy.

Episode 104: Jacob deGone (Sorry)

Episode 104: Jacob deGone (Sorry)

Sigh.

He actually left. Jacob deGrom is a Texas Ranger. What a bummer. As you might imagine, this episode is mostly a reflection on Jake's signing in Texas, a look at how the Mets should replace him, and how this whole situation makes us feel.

Episode 103: Cold Stove

Episode 103: Cold Stove

A happy belated Thanksgiving and welcome back to yet another PGE! This week Sam and Jack take on perhaps the scariest thing a baseball fan can face: an empty, boring week in the offseason. Even with not much concrete in the way of news, we found 90 minutes worth of content! It's good stuff, we promise.

For instance, the Mets brought some depth arms in. Elieser Hernandez and Jeff Brigham don't seem too interesting -- but Jack thinks he's found something interesting about them. Likewise, we discuss if and how the Mets should tackle the rest of the bullpen (e.g., Adam Ottavino, Tommy Kahnle).

The Mets also shook up their dugout coaching staff slightly. Let's talk about it.

Then, Sam and Jack look back on some preseason predictions. Who was right? Who was wrong? Who took a giant L?

Plus, eulogizing Dom Smith's Mets career.

Enjoy the episode!

Episode 102 with Michael Mayer of MetsMerized!

Episode 102 with Michael Mayer of MetsMerized!

Hey Mets fans! This week, we head back to our podcasting roots with Michael Mayer (@mikemayer22 on Twitter), the executive editor at MetsMerized -- the site the podcast first started under.

Mike is a very smart dude. He chatted with us about a variety of topics. We broke down the Mets decision to not make any 40-man roster adds (no, not even "prospect" Jake Mangum) ahead of Tuesday's Rule V protection deadline. We also talked about the addition of righty Stephen Ridings on waivers from the Yankees and the lack of trades the Mets made despite rumors they were engaged with the Rays ahead of that deadline.

We also chatted about the Mets new hirings in both the hitting and pitching departments. They're good hires. Mike helps us break down WHY Jeff Albert and Eric Jagers are difference makers for the Mets despite not being on the MLB coaching staff.

With the qualifying offer deadline in the past and a couple of arms off the board, we also took a long look at the starting pitching options if the Mets in case they lose Jacob deGrom.

Plus, remembering some friends new and old with Mike!

Give Mike a follow on Twitter for some excellent coverage. Enjoy!

Episode 101: Opening the Offseason with Trumpets!

Episode 101: Opening the Offseason with Trumpets!

Welcome to the offseason Mets fans! We hope you enjoyed masquerading as Phillies fans for a couple of weeks if you chose to do so, but now it's back to business for Billy Eppler and the Mets!

The Mets started the offseason early by ensuring everyone knows it's about the Mets, baby. They re-signed Edwin Diaz to a 5-year contract, the most lucrative deal for a relief pitcher in MLB history. On the pod this week, we break down why this deal is Good and why you shouldn't worry about the Mets prioritizing Diaz over Nimmo or deGrom.

Speaking of deGrom, we weigh in on the first round of rumors surrounding the Mets' ace. Do we think they can bring him back? Where do we think the Mets' payroll winds up.

Likewise, we opine about the Mets hiring of Eric Jagers as their new Director of Pitching Development. Hint: it's a good hire.

We also break down Trea Turner and where the Mets' possible pursuit of him might fit into the hectic shortstop market. Plus, Sam gives one big non-Mets related free agent prediction.

Enjoy 101, Mets fans!

The 100th Episode Extravaganza! (with Richard Staff and Abigail Noy)

The 100th Episode Extravaganza! (with Richard Staff and Abigail Noy)

Happy 100th, PGE!

To celebrate, we're running it back with the same raucous duo of guests from Episode 86 back in July: screen printing princess Abigail Noy and wordsmith and e-mongrel Richard Staff!

Listen as Sam, Jack, Abigail, and Rich try to stay on topic through more than 100 minutes of content for the Pod's 100th episode. Featured within this utter(ly entertaining) mess are conversations about Jeff McNeil's hero arc, why Bryce Harper and the Phillies are so darn likeable right now, why the possibility of them winning the World Series makes us less angry than other recent NL East champions, and (perhaps most importantly) which Muppets characters we would cast as this band of Fightin' Phillies.

In retrospect, we did talk about the Phillies a lot this episode. We promise it's still a Mets pod. We talked about Todd Frazier too!

Also, stick around to hear Richard reveal the topic of his next big longform article! We are the first place he's talked about it in detail, which is pretty cool!

Be sure to check his Twitter out @RichardStaff, although we're sure you already follow it.

Likewise, you simply must check out Abigail's screen printing business. Visit sypatheticinker.com to see her designs and buy shirts! There may even be a discount code buried toward the end of the episode, if you stick around!

Enjoy the episode, Mets fans. We'll see you in 101!

Episode 98: Let's Get Wild (Card)

Bring on the Padres!

After a rough weekend in Atlanta (understatement), the Mets failed to secure the NL East crown. Sam and Jack recap the series behind and preview the series ahead. For the first time in PGE history, the boys talk about the Mets in the playoffs! For real!!

Join them as they try to make sense of the Mets' playoff rotation plans, build out the rest of the roster, and give the Padres as much credit as we thing they deserve.

We also recap some cool parts of the 2022 regular season! Jeff McNeil is a batting champion! Pete Alonso won the RBI crown. Mark Canha led baseball in Hit By Pitches (which is less cool). The fellas guess the Mets' top 12 in fWAR when it was all said and done.

Let's go Mets.

Enjoy!

Episode 97: Circle Friday on Your Calendar

Episode 97: Circle Friday on Your Calendar

What Mets doing?

Good wins in Milwaukee and Oakland led the Mets to a 4-2 week despite the Worst Start Jacob deGrom Has Ever* Had. That's ok. We're not worried about our lanky legend just yet. We talked about it.

*Since like early-mid 2019

The Mets still lead the NL East. As of recording the lead stood at 1.5 games. It will either be 1 or 2 depending on how the Braves fair on Monday while the Mets are off to return home from Oakland. The Magic Number stands at 8 with 8 to play. Just keep winning, boys. Friday, the Mets start that big series in Atlanta. That might decide the division. We're nervous.

Pete Alonso broke a longstanding Mets' record. It was cool. We also broke down the Aaron Judge-AppleTV hooplah. It's a fun listen this week.

Enjoy.

Episode 96: The Mets are Heading Back to the Playoffs!!

Episode 96: The Mets are Heading Back to the Playoffs!!

You saw the title. We're back, baby. These. Mets.

Still work to do. The division isn't nearly won. But the Mets have a confirmed spot. Sam and Jack watched the Mets clinch, and now you can listen to Sam and Jack watch the Mets clinch!

Max Scherzer rocks. The Mets swept the Pirates this weekend. Sandy Alderson is out. All that and more on another fun episode of PGE.

Enjoy!

Episode 95: We are a Mariners Podcast in This Episode

Episode 95: We are a Mariners Podcast in This Episode

JULIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The Mets are good. They won four of six this week and took series from both the Pirates and Marlins. They did (briefly) fall out of first place, but the Braves coughed two games up in the standings immediately thanks to some friends in the Pacific Northwest. While Starling Marte is hurt, the offense is clicking again and the pitching has been alright outside of some questionable bullpen usage by Buck. Also Mark Vientos is here and Darin Ruf is bad still, so, sure.

About 55 minutes into this episode, we literally just start reacting to the end of Sunday's wild Braves/Mariners game. It's a lot of fun and even though you probably know what happened in that game, we hope you find entertainment value in our reactions.

Also, if you enjoyed that part of the episode, hit us up on Twitter (@thePGEpod) and let us know if we should do more of that type of stuff.

Enjoy,

Jack and Sam.

Episode 94: The Negative and the Pod-sitive

Episode 94: The Negative and the Pod-sitive

This was a week of contrasting ~vibes~ around the Mets.

They won two-of-three against the frickin' Dodgers. They lost two-of-three to the frickin' Nationals. Good and bad. Yin and yang. It's like poetry, it mirrors itself.

We talk about it all -- from deGrom, Nimmo, and Timmy Trumpets to Lane Thomas, Luis Garcia, and Patrick Corbin.

Enjoy.

Episode 93: Imagine This Title is a Pun on Old-Timers' Day

Episode 93: Imagine This Title is a Pun on Old-Timers' Day

Hello, PGE fans.

On this week's episode, Jack and Sam talk about the Mets series' with the Rockies! The Mets won 3 of 4 - so it was mostly good. They talk the impending series against the Dodgers and why they're nervous (spoiler: It's because the Dodgers are very good).

They also talk about Saturday's festivities at the ballpark. It was the first ever Mets' Old-Timers' Day! It was a lot of fun. Sam was there! The Mets retired Willie Mays' number in a shocking twist - but both of our handsome cohosts think that is the right move. And having David Wright NOT in attendance was also maybe the right move. The boys will explain.

Plus, a look at what future Old-Timers' Days could look like!

Enjoy!!

Episode 92: Fishin' for More Mets to Remember

Episode 92: Fishin' for More Mets to Remember

What an odd week to be a New York Met. Specifically, what an odd week to be one of the NINE new faces the Mets brought in since we last spoke to you on PGE. Some of them fit into the Mets' future plans. Many of them don't. We gave each of them grades (or a close approximation) based on contributions to the team this week.

Oh, and the Phillies are Phelony Phrauds, like we all suspected.

Let's go Mets.

Aug 22, 202201:14:11
Episode 91: Cue the Trumpets

Episode 91: Cue the Trumpets

The Mets are living well in the post-deadline world. That series win over the Braves might have been the highlight of the season. It rocked. They swept the Reds. They (result pending)ed the Phillies (we recorded before the rubber match). They're good. This is good. They're fun.

Edwin Diaz is fun. Very fun. People have been really digging the trumpets lately.

Likewise, Jacob deGrom is back and hasn't missed a beat. We talk about what that means to the team and why he is the key to building a sustainable winner in Queens.

Plus - hear Sam's crazy prediction for what big trade the Mets pull off this offseason.

Enjoy.

Episode 90: Oh God He's Hot (he's the Mets)

Episode 90: Oh God He's Hot (he's the Mets)

The Mets went 5-0 this week. They've won six in a row. They swept the Yankees and Marlins. They get the Nationals this week before a big series against the Braves. Jacob deGrom returns on Tuesday in D.C. Tyler Naquin is a Met. Hopefully more new faces join us before deGrom's season debut on Trade Deadline Day. Trevor May and James McCann are also about to return. The vibes are great; so great in fact that it reminded us of a different trade deadline that the Mets bookended with great play against a division rival.

Episode 89: Dan's a VogelSNACK

Episode 89: Dan's a VogelSNACK

This week on #PGE:

The Mets have a large new thumper in their order...

And they acquired him for literally Colin Holderman (which some of y'all are mad at???)...

Who else might the Mets be looking to trade for at the upcoming deadline...

Why this two-game Subway Series swing is so daunting...

And the Mets have some players getting healthy [eyes emoji].

Episode 87: Keefer Nandez

Episode 87: Keefer Nandez

It was a good but also bad week for the Mets.

They went 4-3 with really fun wins in Cincinnati and on Keith Day...but they also had annoying shutout losses in Cincinnati and after Keith Day.

Pete Alonso, Edwin Díaz, Jeff McNeil, and Starling Marte are All-Stars.

Max is back. Jake is ever closer.

Also Keith Day rocked, btw.

Enjoy the (normal, sorry for the chaotic episode last week) episode.

Episode 86: The Chaos Episode with Richard Staff and Abigail Noy

Episode 86: The Chaos Episode with Richard Staff and Abigail Noy

For the 86th episode of the podcast and in honor that number's significance in Mets' history, we figured we'd do something special for this one: for the first time ever we have TWO guests on.

Returning friends of the pod Abigail Noy (@BringDaNoyz) and Richard Staff (@RichardStaff) ensured that this episode is the most chaotic episode we've ever put out. Good luck following along. It was a lot of fun for us, but we're not sure if it will transate.

Enjoy.

Episode 85: The Large Adult Son vs Dad-Bod Athlete Debate

Episode 85: The Large Adult Son vs Dad-Bod Athlete Debate

It is the 85th episode of Pleasant Good Evening.

On tap this week:

The Astros are good, and so are the Mets. However, this week, the Astros made the Mets look bad. Round two in New York this week with Justin Verlander due Wednesday!

Also, the Mets could've swept the Marlins if not for literally any timely hitting on Sunday. A series win is a series win is a series win, so *shrug emoji*.

Despite a down week, things are looking fine in Metsland. Max Scherzer is set for (hopefully) one more rehab start before rejoining the staff.

We track the Mets' offense. It struggled a bit this week. Pete Alonso is still really, really good, providing hope for dad-bod havers everywhere. Jeff McNeil should probably be on the IL with his hamstring deal, but we'll believe the Mets in saying that it's minor (for now, until he's inevitably IL'd too late).

We also talk about that pesky catcher's position. It's been a black hole offensively, but can the Mets survive that thanks to good defense? Are there any replacements they can trade for? Is there a viable replacement hitting the crap out of the baseball in Binghamton right now? All questions we provide answers to.

We also take a look at the trade market in general and the directions the Mets can go in at the deadline.

Plus, as usual we remember some guys. This week: a once-heralded Met youth with a timely Houston connection and an outfielder's who's very mention infuriated Sam.

Enjoy, friends.

Episode 83: No More Parties in LA

What's up, Pleasant Good Eveningers...

This week, pinch-hitter and friend of the pod Rob Piersall from Mets Legends fills in for Sam (tonsillitis, 10-day IL) alongside Jack to break down the Mets hellishly long West Coast roadtrip.

Plus, Jack and Rob talk about how threatening these Braves and Phillies winning streaks are.

And, picking up the pieces with Holderman hurt and Nogosek back in Triple-A.

Also, Noah Syndergaard was being a weirdo this weekend with the Mets in Anaheim. Jack and Rob get into his decision to avoid the media.

They also chat about Dom Smith's future as a Met since his demotion to Syracuse.

And they finish up with a mailbag question!

Give Rob a follow on Twitter @RTPiersall and over at @MetsLegends, and enjoy the episode!

Episode 82: Nick Plummer Sweeps Away the Phillies!!

Happy Memorial Day. The New York Mets have their biggest May division lead EVER. They lost a tough series in San Francisco but came home to sweep the Phillies -- and it was their first sweep of the season!

Today, Jack and Sam recap an awesome weekend series that culminated in some surprising heroics.

Also, some updates on some injured Mets and what getting deGrom and Scherzer back could mean for this team.

Plus, how vital is this upcoming West Coast road trip?

And, another update on the State Of The Bullpen with guys like Colin Holderman and Stephen Nogosek establishing themselves as actual options.

And, FOR THE FIRST TIME ON PGE, Jack and Sam chose the SAME PLAYER TO REMEMBER!!! Stick around for it!

Episode 81: But This Time, With College Degrees

Episode 81: But This Time, With College Degrees

We are back! After a week off to selfishly celebrate finishing our undergraduate studies, your favorite angsty baseball post-grads are back to chat about the ever-changing landscape of those New York Mets.

Listen, they're still a good baseball team. Perhaps, even a great one. Though they lost their first series of the year since last we spoke (damn you, Mariners, for sending down Jarred Kelenic to prevent the Brodie Bowl from happening and then beating us two-of-three while we celebrated with our families), but still went 5-2 this week to the Cardinals and Rockies. They head to San Fran next to kick off a potentially-harrowing 22-game stretch that also includes the Phillies, Dodgers, Padres, Angels, and Brewers.

Even with a good week on-field there's some dreck to wade through off it. Max Scherzer needs a fresh oblique. He's out for 6-8 weeks or more. We're bummed. Michael Kay made some real dumb comments about Gary, Keith, and Ron. Josh Donaldson made some real dumb racist comments directly to Tim Anderson's face.

Praise be to Luis Guillorme, Bench Goat.

And, on this week's Guy Remembering: an unlikely hero who sacrificed life and limb in the "bigged gimme at bat" of all time and a pitcher with an affinity for putting his hand in a place it doesn't belong.

Enjoy.

Episode 80: Your Loss Will Be Featured on Amazin' Finishes 2022

Ok, this is a fun team.

The Mets STILL haven't lost a series after splitting with Atlanta and taking 2/3 in a rain-shortened Philly series this weekend. That's nine straight series, no series losses. They've won 20 games in their first 30, are the first 20-win team in MLB, and the seventh team in franchise history to start with 20 or more wins in 30 games. It's been a hell of a ride.

Also, they came back and won a game on Friday that they trailed by six runs entering the ninth inning. That absolutely rocked.

We talk about all things This Week in Mets and even digress into some Marvel Cinematic Universe chat. Come for the Mets and Marvel chatter, stay for a deep dive into remembering the 2005 Mets.

Episode 77: Bring on the Giants

Episode 77: Bring on the Giants

The Mets have a league leading 7 wins through ten games! They're the only NL team to win 7 of 10 (because the Giants have won 7 of 9...)

Speaking of those Giants, they come to town for four games this week. They'll face a Mets team that leads the World in starting pitching ERA (1.07 through 10 games is a record since earned runs became a tracked stat in 1913, thanks friend of the pod Michael Mayer for that nugget). They'll face a Mets team that is without Mark Canha and Brandon Nimmo, who both have Covid, but is hitting nonetheless. Lindor, Marte, Alonso, McNeil, and Escobar have all been fabulous of late.

Hey, maybe if Seth Lugo and the bullpen get good, this team will be certifiably Legit.

Tylor Megill throws 99 now. Max Scherzer threw a quality start without his best stuff. Chris Bassitt rocks. Carlos Carrasco is very good ((outside of the first inning)). Mark Canha and Jeff McNeil are hitting a million. Eduardo Escobar is a doubles machine. Pete Alonso loves grannies. Francisco Lindor might hit better with a split lip. The bullpen might also be Good.

National League, you've been warned.

Enjoy the episode.

Episode 75: The Sky Isn't Falling, It's Just Raining

Episode 75: The Sky Isn't Falling, It's Just Raining

Let me know if this sounds familiar: Jacob deGrom is hurt.

We know, we know. We're sad too. Oh also Max Scherzer might be hurt. It was not a fun week in Metsland.

Dom Smith is still a Met and Chris Paddack and Eric Hosmer are not. We discuss the trade that wasn't.

And the trade that was: Miguel Castro is a Yankee and Joely Rodriguez is a Met. RIP CastroHive.

Enjoy the episode. Happy Opening Week!

Episode 74: With Tim Britton of The Athletic

Episode 74: With Tim Britton of The Athletic

It's been a while since we brought on a guest, so we got a good one: The Athletic's Tim Britton!

Tim joined us to talk all things Mets and Mets beat - from camp storylines like those last bullpen spots to prospects to watch - and a few things decidedly non-Mets (come for his musings about Chasen Shreve, stay for his takes about Duke basketball).

Enjoy!

Episode 73: Steal Base, Bat First

Episode 73: Steal Base, Bat First

The Mets are playing baseball games. In fact, they played a couple this weekend. One of them was one TV!!

Also, the NL East is NOT playing around with some of these transactions. Matt Olson, Kyle Schwarber, Nicholas Castellanos, Jorge Soler; and the Mets have countered with... Chasen Shreve, I guess.

Episode 69: Talkin' 'Bout Some Idiots on the Nice Episode

Episode 69: Talkin' 'Bout Some Idiots on the Nice Episode

haha funny number nice

Ok for real though, this week we kept it a little shorter. We chatted about some dumb people, like a certain former Mets pitcher-turned-NFT-bro, the latest Lockout Dummies, whoever ranked Derek Jeter ahead of Albert Pujols on ESPN's top 100 all-time baseball player list, the Twitter Guy who didn't realize he was critiquing Mike Trout's "pitching machine swing", and a veteran reporter who wrote a hackneyed article on the Mets' hitting analytics last season.

We hope you enjoy.
