After considerable thought, I have decided to take a leave of absence from weekly shows. The GET OFF MY LAWN! Podcast isn't gone for good, just for a while. How long that will be remains to be seen. In the immortal words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, "I'll be back." Someday. Let's go out with a bang tonight, we will talk about whatever other topic comes up, and we'll reminisce about the past 4 years of this show.

Whether you're new to shooting/owning firearms or you're a veteran firearm shooter/owner, you probably have developed one or two pet peeves. These may apply to other firearms owners you know, people you see at the range, in the gun store, online, or anywhere else. Let's have some fun with another episode of The Airing Of The Grievances! "I'VE GOT A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH YOU PEOPLE, AND NOW YOU'RE GONNA HEAR ABOUT IT!"

Let's take a break from serious topics tonight and have a fun discussion on what would REALLY happen if a zombie epidemic broke out. We have countless movies, television shows, and other guides from which to draw information about such an event. Let's compare notes and figure out what you will need to know if zombies attack. Stay tuned to the end, I will grace you all with the ONLY thing you'll need to know in the event of a zombie outbreak.

Modern society is constantly evolving, most of which is a GOOD thing. But often we get so accustomed to "society" that we forget how the "real world" works. Let's talk about what it means to have a civilized society and what happens if/when society collapses and people revert back to the laws of nature, or the "real world."

More and more people are developing a mistrust for what we call "mainstream media." I believe that mistrust is both healthy and well-earned. The art of waging a full-scale world-wide-web war is alive and well. Let's discuss how these elite fighters who hide in their parents' basements to launch their keyboard campaigns actually CAN NOT AND SHOULD NOT be trusted if the proverbial poop really does hit the fan one day.  

We have brought this up many times before on this show, let's do a deep dive on just how worthless these I-D-TEN-T's really are.

There are myriad new firearm owners and 2A advocates/activists out there. When someone is new and still learning the jargon in "our world," often times they will use the wrong word or phrase and well-meaning but tactless keyboard warriors will light them up faster than than a doobie at a Snoop Dogg concert. We also see people on news outlets, both pundits and politicians, constantly misuse words or phrases. Some times they DO know what they are saying, but most times I believe they just don't know any better. That's where WE come in.  

Let's discuss some of the more common words that are used incorrectly, and then offer a better word or phrase to use.  As always, we will need some audience participation to help list the common mistakes we see from both new firearm owners AND media pundits/politicians.

I recently heard an episode of GUNS Magazine's podcast called "The Gun Cranks." In that episode, the three panelists all concurred that open carry is unquestionably and undeniably STUPID.

Let's have our own discussion/debate and find out if EVERYONE thinks that way or if those old fuddy-duddies are just plain FUDDS.

We do not treat any other right as listed in the constitution the same way the 2nd Amendment gets treated. We do not place prior restraint upon our rights to speech, worship, illegal search and seizure, due process, or any others, EXCEPT our right to keep and bear arms. For THAT right, and ONLY that right, we must first ask permission from the State to bear a firearm in a concealed fashion in public. We must ask the State for a PERMIT to exercise a RIGHT. As a free American, I find that unacceptable.

The Supreme Court of the United States, apparently, agrees. Justice Thomas, in his opinion on New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen, wrote "The constitutional right to bear arms in public for self-defense is not 'a second-class right, subject to an entirely different body of rules than the other Bill of Rights guarantees."

Let's offer up some talking points and sound bytes that people might find useful as they fight to secure their rights across the nation.

In case you haven't noticed, society is quickly going to Hell in a handbasket. The new "progressive" movement has hijacked words and twisted them to become caricatures of their former selves. Some words have even been REDEFINED in Webster's dictionary! Words don't matter anymore, until they DO.

Is this just a natural progression in society? Is it a symptom of a deeper blight? Let's discuss.

This is the last episode of the year. Let's review 2022, the highs and the lows. Then, we'll discuss what we would like to see in the next trip around the sun.

It's Christmas time again! We will talk about what we hope Santa brings us this year, our favorite traditions, and also what the holiday is ACTUALLY about.

Wherever you are on your journey of concealed carry (or open carry, or even NO carry), you have likely gotten it WRONG at least a time or two. Even seasoned EDC people, for lack of a better term, make the occasional mistake when carrying or choosing gear.

Let's talk about mistakes we have made ourselves, mistakes we have seen others make, and just mistakes in general that those who don't have anyone to forewarn them are prone to make. Podcast!!  Let's kick off the new season with a fun discussion about the firearms we love and why we love them. It may be a precious heirloom, it may be a fictional gun from TV or a movie, or it may be the one you carry every day.

One of the major reasons that our society and our nation have gotten to the point that they have is that the term "personal responsibility" has become almost a taboo. Personal responsibility is waning, and we can see evidence of that almost everywhere we look these days. One of the major reasons for this is that we, as a society, have taken most of the "sting" out of being stupid.

Let's sit down and discuss why I believe that Stupid Should Hurt.

We're going to try another night without a panel or guests, just me, myself, and the viewers. We have a list of topics that really aren't good for a full show, so tonight we will cover them and whatever else the folks in the live chat throw out there. This is YOUR chance to ask my opinion on any given topic.

We have discussed at length on this show ways to get the firearm owner community and the 2A community to have MORE conversations about our rights to keep and bear arms. We have discussed what we could accomplish IF ONLY we could get EVERYONE involved in the conversations.  Tonight, I want to throw a curveball at you all and talk about those times when someone SHOULD NOT be a part of the conversation. Are there instances where firearms owners' rights advocates can actually HARM the cause by speaking up? I think there are. Let's talk about those instances.

Unless you are under a ginormous rock, you have heard the Supreme Court's decision on NYSRPA v. Bruen. With that landmark ruling, EVERY state must now become "Shall Issue."  

But was it REALLY that simple? Have the former "May Issue" states really just rolled over and begun issuing carry permits to ALL qualified individuals?  

Theresa Inacker and Tony Simon join us to talk about how New Jersey is handling the Bruen decision, and also how they think the case will affect the nation as a whole.

We spend a lot of time here on YouTube and Facebook trying to help engage all of YOU in the fight to preserve and protect our rights as firearm owners. WHY do we do that? What's in it for us? What's in it for YOU?   

Have you ever actually thought about WHY it is so important to not only those of us who are openly vocal about advocating for our rights as firearms owners, but to ALL responsibly armed Americans? What would happen if the anti's got their way? Where could that path eventually lead? Have you ever heard of the "Law of Unintended Consequences"?  

Let's talk about why this is important to us, and why it should also be important to YOU.

You have value. You are worth protecting. You are worth defending. 

AND, you have the right to insist that others respect YOUR rights.

We hear all the time that our nation's greatest resource is our children, the next generation of Americans. We also hear all the time that we need to "teach our sons not to (fill in the blank)." And yet, when someone says we also need to "teach our daughters not to (fill in a different blank), we get called out for "victim shaming," or "body shaming," or "having a double standard." 

I say we need to teach ALL of our young people, sons and daughters alike, that they have value, that their value does NOT rest in the opinions of others, and it also does not rest in their physical appearance or any willingness to be promiscuous.

Let's talk about what society would look like if we would just teach the next generation to value their own self-worth, their bodies, their health, their virtue, and everything else that makes them unique, special, and VALUABLE. Just imagine an America where they grow up to be self-respecting, patriotic, and, dare I say it, GOD-FEARING adults.

Every firearms instructor/trainer has a list of things that he or she WANTED to say to a student, but couldn't. Sometimes we just have to bite our tongue and hold certain things in.

Tonight, let's pull back the proverbial curtain and expose a few of the things that we as instructors really wish we could say to students, to random people, to our friends and family, and on social media, but for one reason or another we find it better to remain silent.

That's right, it's time for THE AIRING OF GRIEVANCES!

We will also talk about things instructors want YOU to know before you come to class, and things prospective students want to ask instructors.

We have talked before about whether or not training should be MANDATORY in order to exercise our 2nd Amendment rights. 

Tonight let's talk about whether or not training is NECESSARY. 

If not, WHY NOT? And if so, then HOW should you train? 

Is it better to pay an instructor or can you learn everything you know on your own?

We all know that we have certain rights. We all hear things that people say ARE a right that we don't necessarily agree with them about, and other times WE say things are a right that others disagree about with us.

Just what, exactly, IS a right, anyway? Who gives it to us? Are there limitations on it? Who can take it away from us? More importantly, whose job is it to PROTECT our rights?

Let's try something new. No panel, just me and the audience.

Almost everyone knows someone who is "pro-gun." A lot of you ARE pro-gun. But what if I told you, not all pro-gun people are also pro-2nd Amendment? What does it mean to be pro-gun, what does it mean to be pro-2nd Amendment, and why is there a distinction? Can someone be pro-gun and ANTI-2nd Amendment? I say they can, and many ARE.

Let's discuss who each of these groups are, and you can weigh in on whether you're pro-gun, pro-2A, both, or neither.

We keep hearing the anti-gun crowd talk about this seemingly all-powerful "GUN LOBBY."  

But exactly who IS it? WHY are they so powerful? Does it even really exist?

Of course, WE all know the "gun lobby," and that big national group to which they always refer, doesn't have the power it's made out to have.

The REAL gun lobby is the 100 million plus American voters who own firearms.

Let's talk about how powerful it is when ordinary people like you and me talk to our lawmakers and how, by rolling up our sleeves and working together, there is no limit to what the " ACTUAL GUN LOBBY" can accomplish.

We heard for 2 years that "All Cops Are B*stards," and that we need to defund the police. We also hear year after year after year, ad nauseum, that, "NO ONE NEEDS AN AR-15!!!"

Looking back at recent events where yet more criminals misused firearms to commit multiple murders of innocent people, I can't help but wonder if we (America) have created our own monster here.

Is this what happens when neither the citizens nor the police have the training and tools necessary to defeat public murderers? Is there a way to un-ring that bell???

Let's discuss.

We all want to help fight for our freedom and liberty. Not all of us know HOW or WHERE to start. If you send your $10 to NRA, GOA, SAF, etc. are you REALLY doing something? If not, then WHAT??? 

Do you need to start a new group like Dianna Muller did with The DC Project? Are there any state or local groups that would love to have you join and volunteer? What about just talking at the local coffee shop and making sure your cronies all know FACT from mainstream media-driven FICTION?

Let's talk about how to DO SOMETHING without having to move mountains or re-invent the wheel.

Like it or not, we ALL have been affected in some way by the "virus" that shut down the world. This is especially true for firearms owners, of which there are roughly 20 million newcomers.   

Let's talk about how life has changed since the infection graced us with its presence here in the US, whether that means BECOMING a firearm owner for the first time, deciding that what used to be a LOT of ammo is practically NONE, or changing how you train. Maybe you became more outspoken since finding out how restricted your 2A rights REALLY are. Maybe you aren't a new firearm owner, but you added to your collection based on perceived necessity, potential or actual. Maybe you finally took that concealed carry class and got your permit so you can be armed in public, "just in case."

Are you a grown adult? Are you capable of making your own decisions? Are you capable of making GOOD decisions, INFORMED decisions? Can you distinguish between fact and fiction? 

Most Americans over the age of 20 (I REALLY want to say 25) can answer YES to any of those questions. Any American who is trying to make their way in the world under their own steam instead of living off the government teat should be able to answer YES to ALL of those questions.

The government doesn't think so. The government thinks you are too irresponsible, too childish, too dependent on them, and ultimately too INDOCTRINATED to answer YES to those questions.

Let's talk about how the government wants to treat you like you're 5 years old and make all your decisions for you. They want to be your daddy and tell you THEY know what's best for you. That is the very OPPOSITE of the principles upon which that very government was founded.

Who are YOUR heroes? In real life? In the 2A Advocacy world? In the firearms world? I know I have a list that's probably too long to mention them all here.

Let's have a discussion about who our heroes are and how they have influenced our lives.

More and more examples of schools, teachers, children's programming, et al indoctrinating children are coming into the spotlight. I think we can all agree that indoctrination, as opposed to critical thinking and asking questions, is NEVER a good thing, at any age. But is this tactic exclusive to the Left? Let's discuss the ways that the Left is trying to take over America's youth. Let's also discuss whether or not the Right is guilty of attempting the same.

In today's society, JUDGING someone seems to be one of the worst things you can do to them. In fact, if you DO judge someone, you maybe JUDGED HARSHLY. Is being judgemental BAD? Are there instances where it might be GOOD? Let's dig in and discuss.

Is it the function of the government to be the protector of the citizens? If so, to what extent? Should the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches assume TOTAL responsibility for our safety and ensure that no harm will ever come to us? Of course not. Safety is an illusion, and anyone who tells you otherwise is most likely a politician.  Let's discuss the true functions of the government, how the government is expected, and able, to guarantee our safety, and how I think that it is not the purpose of government to keep us SAFE, but instead to keep us FREE. We are then expected to use that freedom to take responsibility of our own safety.

There are MILLIONS of new firearm owners out there in the US, and not everyone knows where to go for GOOD info. A new firearm owner most likely has a multitude of questions, and they can't all be answered with common sense or by asking a friend or neighbor.

Can I carry without a permit? Where can I carry my firearm? When am I justified using my firearm? HOW do I carry it, what kind of holster, belt, etc. do I need? Will I have to adjust the way I dress with spring and summer coming? 

Let's answer these questions and more!!

We've all heard someone on TV, or maybe even in person, say that speech can be literal VIOLENCE. Confoundingly, some of the same folks on the left ALSO claim that SILENCE is violence. 

Can both ideas be correct? 

Can EITHER idea be correct??? 

Let's talk about that, and more!

Remington recently settled out of court for $73 million with the families of the Sandy Hook victims who filed a lawsuit. Everyone has been talking about how slippery that slope may turn out to be, but there are a few other questions that I have been asking. Why stop at Remington? Who else can we hold accountable for the actions of a disturbed, murderous animal? (I will not name him or even acknowledge his humanity.) Also, the plaintiffs claim that part of the marketing done on that rifle links manhood with violent murderers, and I take exception to that. We will discuss how being a MAN does NOT make one inherently violent, and it DEFINITELY does not make one aggressive.
