Is therapy worth it?

Is therapy worth it?

Therapy is the attempted remediation of a health problem, usually following a diagnosis. In the medical field, it is usually synonymous with treatment. Among psychologists and other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, counselors, and clinical social workers, the term may refer specifically to psychotherapy (sometimes dubbed 'talking therapy'). The English word therapy comes via Latin therapīa from Greek: θεραπεία and literally means "curing" or "healing". Source: Wikipedia With all the information available, therapy still seems to be mysterious. Not many people know what goes on behind the closed doors of a therapist's office. There's still a stigma behind mental health and for some it holds them back from seeking help.

In this episode Dr. Maha Nasrallah-Babenko does a great job uncovering the mystery behind therapy and how it can help anyone, not just the mentally ill. We get into a good conversation about mental health, types of therapy and what people should look for in a therapist. Dr. Maha has a PhD in Psychology, is an ACS certified sexologist, a sports psychologist and is a relationship and sexual wellness coach.
