#188 - The one with Azure DNS Service & Hybrid Networking for SAP (Konstantin Popov & Evren Buyruk) | SAP on Azure Video Podcast

In episode 188 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we talk about about DNS, Domain Name System. DNS acts like a phonebook to resolve IP addresses through their domain names. When something goes wrong, then often the whole network communication breaks down. It's always DNS! Who doesn't know this term whenever it comes to networking issues. In a lot of cases we see customers using Azure DNS Services in the context of hybrid networking with SAP  scenarios -- both Azure native and RISE with SAP. Since this can become quite complicated, I am happy to have two experts with us today again: Evren and Konstantin.

#186 - The one with SAP Business One and Copilot Studio (Moshe Nachman, Richard Duffy) | SAP on Azure Video Podcast

In episode 186 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we talk about SAP Business One and Copilot Studio.
In the past we had talked about Copilot and the Integration to SAP data. We showed how to retrieve flight data, we talked about Single sign-on and we also showed how to create a Copilot using Copilot Studio that allowed you to create a Sales Order in the SAP System. In all of these scenarios we were connecting to an SAP ECC or an SAP S/4HANA system. But obviously there are also other SAP backends being used by our customers -- a very popular one is SAP Business One. To show you how Copilot can work with B1, I am happy to have Moshe and Richard back with us on the podcast. Moshe has created some very impressive demos and I am really looking forward to seeing them!

#184 - The one with SAP API Management and Entra ID (Vinayak Adkoli) | SAP on Azure Video Podcast

In episode 184 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we talk again about Single Sign-On.
For a VERY long time when I was working at SAP, I was working alongside a very special colleague and friend, Vinayak Adkoli. He was my partner in crime for a lot of projects. In the last projects we worked together on SAP API Management and simplifying the way how customers could manage SAP APIs.
Then I moved to Microsoft, Vinayak moved from India to the US and today I have the pleasure of welcoming him in our podcast. Last week we already had an amazing episode with Martin Raepple from Microsoft and Christian Cohrs from SAP about Single Sign-On and Multifactor authentications in the context of SAP GUI and today we want to focus on API based authentications. Similar like with the SAP GUI this is one of the most talked about scenarios and I am glad that Vinayak can provide us with more insights on how this is working.

#177 - The one with 7 years at Microsoft (Robert Boban) | SAP on Azure Video Podcast

In episode 177 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we talk about Robert :-) I'm not sure about the exact year but let's say 15 years ago I was working at SAP and I got introduced probably via email to Robert Boban. Robert was working at that time at the value prototyping team. I was very much engaged already at that time in Microsoft integration projects. I was part of the NetWeaver Regional Implementation Group and in this context I was looking at integrating a search scenario across the SAP and Microsoft stack. I got introduced to Robert and I immediately saw his passion, his dedication and his willingness to help & support. It was super cool to work with him. Then, seven years ago I joined Microsoft and obviously still at SAP I was going around saying "Goodbye" to a lot of good friends and I also reached out to Robert. I told him that I am going to Microsoft and it was super cool to hear that apparently he had made the same decision and he would also join Microsoft just one month or so later than I. Well, today as you might have guessed from the title and also looking at Roberts name here in Teams, we do have some interesting news: Robert is actually going back to SAP, so after having worked with him quite closely especially in the beginning on SAP on Microsoft infrastructure, but also integration topics, he's now going back to SAP. Luckily we will still have the opportunity to work with him -- and since we are an SAP and Microsoft podcast he will continue to host this show with us. So in today's episode we're basically looking back with Robert at seven years at Microsoft Find all the links mentioned here: https://www.saponazurepodcast.de/episode177 Reach out to us for any feedback / questions: * Robert Boban: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rboban/ * Goran Condric: https://www.linkedin.com/in/gorancondric/ * Holger Bruchelt: https://www.linkedin.com/in/holger-bruchelt/ #Microsoft #SAP #Azure #SAPonAzure #Goodbye ## Summary created by AI Key Topics: * Robert's transition from Microsoft to SAP: Robert is leaving Microsoft after 7 years and joining SAP as a customer-facing role, working with large and complex projects. He will continue to host the podcast and bring new perspectives and insights from SAP side. * SAP and Microsoft integration topics: The podcast will keep focusing on the technical and business value of running SAP on Azure, as well as the challenges and opportunities of cloud adoption, AI, and integration. The hosts will also invite more SAP colleagues and customers to share their experiences and feedback. * The journey of SAP and Microsoft: The hosts reflect on the past 7 years of working together and how the technology and the market have evolved rapidly. They also look forward to the future of SAP and Microsoft collaboration and innovation, and how they can help each other and the customers to succeed.

#172 - The one with Breaking silos (Robert Boban, Goran Condric, Holger Bruchelt) | SAP on Azure Video Podcast

In episode 172 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we don't talk too much about technology, but more about something that often prevents technology to be applied.
Back when I was at SAP, one of the biggest challenges that I saw with customers -- especially with bigger customers -- was that the SAP team is not talking to the non-SAP team.
In a lot of organizations there is a dedicated team in IT that looks after the SAP environment and an IT team that is looking after the rest. They often don't even sit on the same floor or build which leads to disconnected projects.
So today we talk about that and discuss how we can address this.

## Summary created by AI
* The SAP team and the non-SAP team often have different perspectives, responsibilities, and knowledge, and they need to communicate and understand each other better.
* The cloud adoption framework provides a common language and a guide for the cloud journey, and it helps to establish cross-functional teams that can work together on strategy, governance, operation, and adoption.
* The well-architected framework provides a huge set of best practices and checklists that can help to optimize the cloud infrastructure and services, and to align them with the business goals and requirements.
* The DevOps mentality and tools can help to automate and standardize the cloud deployment and operation, and to enable faster and more flexible testing and innovation.
* The AI and extend-innovate scenarios require more data integration and preparation, and more collaboration between the infrastructure and the application layers.

#163 - The one with the UI5 Spreadsheet Importer (Marian Zeis) | SAP on Azure Video Podcast

## Introduction

In episode 163 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we talk about Excel. When Christian Klein did the keynote on the DSAG Jahreskongress two weeks back, he put up a slide on the evolution of customers running their business. And one of the starting points was Excel! I would argue that even today there are probably very few customers that are not using Excel -- in addition to their SAP system. So integration is key. There are thousands of ways how Excel can work with SAP -- there is even a joke that every month a blog post is published that shows a new way. There is however one community project, the "UI5 Spreadsheet Importer" that is basically a component for UI5 which allows enables the bulk upload of data. For this we have Marian Zeis joining us today who will talk and show us more.

Then we take a closer look at the Microsoft AI SDK for ABAP. A few months ago, we talked about a revolutionary new SDK in our news of the week section: the AI SDK for ABAP. This SDK empowers ABAP developers to consume Azure OpenAI services without leaving their ABAP code or having to know the intricate details of Azure OpenAI. I had the opportunity to present and demo the SDK with the German Speaking SAP User Group a few months back, which led to some exciting discussions with customers and actual follow-up projects. Today, we are thrilled to have the brain behind the AI SDK for ABAP with us: Gopal Nair, a Principal Software Engineer at Microsoft. We're really looking forward to Gopal introducing the topic and sharing some examples with us. In fact, he has so many examples that we're planning to do a few follow-up sessions with him, so stay tuned! Easy Tandoori chicken

Purchase Tandoori mix from your local Indian Grocery store.

Mix the Tandoori mix, with chicken thighs and legs, have some good background music to inspire you 😊

Add ginger, garlic, onion powder to liking.

Grill on indirect heat 300 degrees for 45 minutes and then flip the chicken, and grill for another 45 minutes.

Can be served with Naan, Rice and yogurt to lessen the heat.

#143 - The one with Low-Code with Neptune Software and M365 (Martin Fischer & Abesh Bhattacharjee) | SAP on Azure Video Podcast

In episode 143 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we talk about Advanced Settings with the SAP CDC Connector and SLT and the upcoming Sapphire. Then we welcome Martin Fischer and Abesh Bhattacharjee from Neptune Software.

In previous episodes we have often talked about low-code and SAP. In most cases that meant Power Platform and SAP. However, there are obviously lots of other solutions out there. SAP has their own low-code solution with SAP Build -- and there are some great ways to integrate. But there are also other partners: like Neptune Software. They also offer a very interesting suite that enables customers to build low-code solutions -- and integrate and connect with Microsoft 365 and Azure.

Martin and Abesh show us what the Neptune platform is and how it can be used to integrate with Microsoft 365, Azure service and Power Platform.
