Emily in Paris Season 1 FINALE

Season 1 finale is HERE and, as if the Anchor gods knew we needed everything to go right, decided to plague us with an echo on its "Record With Friends" feature. So after several attempts, it was Skype to the rescue, which pretty much saved this show. So what we're saying is that today's show is brought to you by Skype - literally. Season 1 wraps up with a successful (if bizarre) Pierre Cadault showing at Paris Fashion Week followed by the heart-breaking news that Gabriel has bought a restaurant in Normandy. So does that mean he has to leave Paris, never seeing Emily again? Not if Antoine has anything to say about it. Jenna and Sarah also take a page from Emily's book and over-promise some shit that will most likely never manifest.

THANK YOU to everyone who has tuned into this little COVID quarantine project of ours. We may pop in here and there to recap some cheesy rom-coms around Valentine's Day, but until season 2 debuts, we will bid adieu...for now.

New Year, Low Energy

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Jenna and Sarah are back recapping episode 9 of Emily in Paris (An American Auction in Paris) complete with low energy, a few jokes, and a book club. In this episode we see the old garde vs. the new garde: Grey Space, the hottest new American clothing designer has invaded Paris, causing Pierre Cadault to wrestle with the fact that he may be looked at as old-fashioned in this new, hip, ever-changing fashion world - especially after the stunt they pull at a benefit that is auctioning off one of his dresses.

Age of Consent

Merry Christmas! Happy (belated) Hanukkah! Happy Kwanzaa! Happy Festivus! However you're choosing to celebrate, we want to wish you a warm holiday season. We're kicking off the festivities this week with a recap of Episode 8, titled "Family Affair." Emily just can't get away from Gabriel when she finds herself on a work trip with him and Camille to Camille's family's champagne house; Mindy runs into old friends and gets redemption for her botched Popstar performance, and Emily has a surprise in store after sleeping with Camille's 17-year-old brother. Which, that's the surprise, guys. He's a youngun. Spoiler alert.

Happy Endings

Happy endings are the theme of this week's episode as they continuously pop up both in Emily in Paris and in our recap. This week, Emily agrees to babysit a famous American actress at the Fourtier launch party where she phones it in and inevitably loses track of her charge. She and Gabriel then proceed on a wild chase across Paris to bring back both the actress and a very expensive watch, and Sylvie encounters a snag in her romantic arrangement with Antoine.

Ringardes

After taking Thanksgiving week off we are back with another recap that covers everything from Emily in Paris to Hallmark Christmas movies (again), press-on nails, and my dog pissing on her bed. It's a real grab-bag of fun, folks. In this episode, Emily screws up a chance for Savoir to bring the legendary fashion designer, Pierre Cadault, on as a client, and this is when we are introduced to the word ringarde. Emily and Gabe continue to try to ignore their feelings for each other while dating other people, and we meet the only man in the world who is a professor of symbols, a profession that is only good if you plan to teach for a living or follow in the footsteps of Robert Langdon and solve centuries-old riddles.

Off the Rails

Savoir Shade take 2! This is our second attempt at recording this episode because of technical difficulties. Something is happening while the audio is processing that makes the finished product sound off-kilter; we are out of sync, one of us reacting to something the other said before she's said it, long, awkward pauses, and random laughter. There is still a little of that here, but it isn't quite as bad; that being said, if the flow sounds "off" in spots, that's why. In this week's episode, we're chugging White Claws and re-capping episode 5: Emily tries to navigate the awkward situation she finds herself in with Gabriel and Camille, and explores her new role as an influencer - both officially and unofficially. We also discuss Hallmark Christmas movies, teachable moments from Family Matters, and the magic of Liquid IV. It’s off the rails, guys.

This week we break down episode 3, which is basically a human resources nightmare what with all the conversations Emily has with her boss about sex, lingerie she receives as a gift from a client, and a naked perfume commercial which sparks more office convos about sex, sexism, and whether or not a woman's dream really is to walk along a bridge naked while men admire her.
