Interview with OUT THERE FAMILY

Interview with OUT THERE FAMILY

Even the 4 years of not physically travelling around, we consider that nonetheless, a journey and a important one..

Richard and Liadhan and their 5 youngest children Miriam, Hannah, Esther, Eva and Danny have been Wandering and Wondering throughout Australia for the past 9 years, living life on their own terms.

They have also recently appeared on the popular "reality" TV show PARENTAL GUIDANCE where they showcase their parenting style and lifestyle. We take a deep dive into why they were labelled the "Nature Parents" on the show. Talking about how they are advocates for nature play, natural learning and respectful ways of being with Children.

Richard and Liadhan share how they make travelling in swags work for them, their favourite places and why, the incredible experiences the kids are having along the way and what I feel one of the most interesting and special things that came out of the conversation was what travel actually means to them and their family.

I hope that you enjoy this episode as I much as I have enjoyed recording it.

Interview with WANDERLUST WITH LITTLE ONES

Interview with WANDERLUST WITH LITTLE ONES

Time is precious, you will never get time back..

On this episode I chat with Shane from Wanderlust with Little Ones.

Shane and his wife Cassie have previously done quite a lot of overseas travel and what they took away from that was

So 5 months ago they decided to quite their jobs, sell their house and the majaorty of their belonings to hit the road with their 2 kids Marley (4) and Byron (2.5) Leaving Sydney to chase the sun and are currently exploring Queensland.

Travelling in a 20ft Franklin Razer Caravan with 3 bunks and an en-suite, towing the van with a Ford Ranger. They prefer to stay in free camps and National Parks and use the more commercial parks with the extra comforts every now and then.

Shane and Cassie have no end date in sight however a minimun of 2 years is the plan and they fund their trip with the money that they received from the sale of their home and a voluntary redundancy. With the goal and vision to inspire and empower others to travel Australia full-time to then create an income through building a brand.

Shane shares some great stories with so much value and finishes off the call with a special poem that he wrote himself.

Interview with VAN N AUS

Interview with VAN N AUS

After spending time in Bali as a family Jules proposed to her husband Stu that they QUIT THEIR JOBS, PACK UP THEIR LIFE, BUY A CARAVAN AND TRAVEL AUSTRALIA.

After 3 short months of planning they set off amongst the chaos in 2020. "It was definitely an interesting time to hit the road" "But it all worked out in the end" said Jules. As they ended up spending 16 months on the road.

Jules talks about how they sold both of their cars before they left and what they bought to travel in and why.

They set off from the Gold Coast, mostly staying in Caravan parks along the East Coast of Australia, by passing Victoria and made a B Line for SA. Due to the current circumstances it really forced them to slow down whilst they were in SA and gave them the opportunity to really watch their kids thrive.

W.A was next on their travels, chasing the sun up the West Coast. Jules shares the highlights of the West. Letting you in on some secret spots where they were able to pull the caravan right up on the beach, enjoying their days in the water snorkelling and being surrounded by animals and sea life was truly incredible.

Stu and Jules tackled the Gibb River Road. The feeling of nervous energy and being so remote made this part of the trip one of her BEST memories.

Jules tells a story.. which wasnt so funny at the time but makes for a great story.. when they found themselves in a spot of trouble as they drove out of Lawn Hill, driving off track and into the middle of nowhere without any phone reception.

Some great tips on how to travel on a budget as Jules touches on how much money they had planned to travel with whilst they werent working and what their weekly budget was.

No school for their 2 Daughters as they recieved an expemption from the school they were enrolled with and therefore experienced the unschooling method of education.

Stay until the end of this eposide to find out what is in store for Van n Aus now that they have finished up their life on the road.. or have they 😉

SCHOOL ON THE ROAD WITH KIDS || MINI SERIES || EPISODE #3 - FOUR ROAM FREE

The White Family - Four Roam Free - Jamie, Pippa, Harriett and Frankie left Victoria in 2020, they did a full lap of Australia and have now settled in a NEW STATE + NEW SCHOOL in Queensland.

In this episode Pippa explains how she was a little naive when it came to choosing a platform to educate her 2 girls, as she was not aware of how many different options there were avaliable.

After going throug the process of being granted leave from their current school, Pippa then registered for Virtual School Victoria, which was previously Distance Education Victoria.

Pippa is very transparent with her experience of educating her kids whilst travelling. It was definitely very challenging, however the achievements for the girls that Pippa witnessed certainly outweighed the more challenging times.

It is so important to research what options are avaliable when it comes to educating your kids on the road... It is such a huge part of you trip and can esentially be the make or break of it!

Stay until the end of this episode as Pippa gives some amazing TIPS on helping your chose the right platform for you and your kids.

And Remember..

"Just relax, you are never making a mistake by giving your children the opportunity to travel and travel with you"

SCHOOL ON THE ROAD WITH KIDS || MINI SERIES || EPISODE #2 - FREE TO ROAM AUS

"We have watched them learn and develop so much in the last 6 months" " They love it and want to learn more, which is nice"

WOW!! This episode is jam packed with so many tips and advice on Home Schooling KIDS on the road!

Brodie Scott and her family Tim, Marley and River ditched the daily grind for a life on the road. They have been travelling for 6 months, leaving Victoria and are currenlty in W.A.

After doing lots of research and exploring different options, Brodie chose to homeschool her 2 boys Marley Grade 1 and River who is in Kindy.

Brodie and Tim are by no means experts when it comes to teaching their kids, they are doing the best they can, tailoring it to suit the boys different levels and their lifestyle. Which is why they love homeschooling and its flexibility.

They made the decision to stick to the routine of Monday - Friday, Weeekends and School Holidays. Their main day to day focus is reading, writing, spelling and maths, following a learning plan which they created themselves.

Brodie is really enjoying helping Marley and River learn and develop in ways that she wouldnt normally get to experience if they were in mainstream schooling.

In this episode you will learn so many ways to home school through certain books, app's and websites that the Scott Family use for their kids as well as plenty of outdoor fun in nature and exploring Australia.

SCHOOL ON THE ROAD WITH KIDS || MINI SERIES || EPISODE #1 - YOUNG DRIVEN + LIVIN

On the first episode of this mini series SCHOOL ON THE ROAD WITH KIDS, I chat to Robbie Pollock from Young Driven + Livin. Robbie and her husband Luke are parents of 2 beautiful girls Cruze 11 y/o and Indie 10 y/o.

The Pollocks have been travelling on the road in their 40 Foot Bus since 2018 and the girls have been doing distance schooling for nearly 4 years.

Robbie explains how education on the road, has certainly been a journey however the girls have definitely found their groove with it now.

They chose NEPSODE (North East Public School of Distance Education) as the mission/vision that the principle has for the students aligned with what the Pollocks believed in, therefore it was a no brainer that Nepsode was the school for them.

We talk about what a typical day looks like with the girls. Their systems and how Robbie and Luke encourage the girls to work independently with their teachers via phone and video calls.

PLUS.. as their travels come to an end, find out what is next for Cruze and Indie as Cruze finishes up her last year in primary school and Indie heads into Grade 6.

Interview with AS WE TRAVEL AU

Interview with AS WE TRAVEL AU

Welcome to Episode 3 of the Wanderlust Life Podcast. I absolutely loved chatting with Lucy from As We Travel AU.

Lucy and I talk about a pivotal moment in their lives when herself and her husband Travis realised life really is too short... From that moment they planned to complete the build of their "dream home" only to sell it and create their "dream life".

If you are a keen fisherman like Travis and you are wanting to take a boat on the road, this episode is for YOU! Lucy shares how travelling with a boat was definitely a deal breaker for Trav, Lucy wasn't so sure however they now know it was the best decision that they have made!!

Lucy, Travis and their son Fletcher have really immersed themselves in the Wanderlust Lifestyle. Listen to how they are trusting their gut and winging it when it comes to their travel plans. The pro's and con's to going from the East Coast to the West Coast in 45 degree heat and why choosing the Wonderland caravan was right for their family.

These guys are list makers and box tickers.. but that doesn't mean they don't know how to have a good time along the way. They call themselves a crazy bunch and like to do things a little different. This episode is fun and full of unique ideas and stories when it comes to their full time life on the road.

ENJOY!
