We’ve all faced moments when clients shy away from discussing personal hurdles like impromptu food binges or skipped workouts. Our pursuit to comprehend these patterns, to uncover the “why,” can inadvertently lead to pushback and a potential loss of trust. I recall my early days as a personal trainer, grappling with this very challenge.
Some clients drifted away, seeking the next coach in line. But here’s the key: to retain and nurture clients, we must decode their experiences, identify red flags, and sidestep the pitfalls of pressing for answers.

Helping PT Clients Who Dont Prioritise Themselves
I used to believe busy clients with no self-prioritisation were “lazy”. I believed they just “lacked focus” and that we all have “the same 24 hours” in the day.
It wasn't until I shifted to understand their busy minds and people-pleasing tendencies that I achieved amazing client results (and longer-term sign-ups.)
Ever hear your clients saying things like "𝙄 𝙗𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙜𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙞𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙮𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙙𝙖𝙮, 𝙨𝙤 𝙄 𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙙 𝙡𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙝!"
or "I had to help a neighbor after work, so I skipped my exercise"?
These are signs that they might be putting everyone else before themselves. It can seriously impact their results.
Imagine this: clients juggling tasks left and right, yet forgetting to care for themselves. 🫢
They hire you with a genuine desire for change, yet sometimes struggle to follow through.
Ever experienced that? I sure have.
Their lives may seem like a jigsaw puzzle, with pieces everywhere. 🧩
Finding time for self-care feels like a treasure hunt for them.
They're busy people pleasing and helping everyone except themselves. Family, neighbours, colleagues etc
🚨𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼: Avoid just telling them to prioritize themselves more or fixating on schedules.
Avoid telling them “we all have the same 24 hours in the day.
The real game-changer is UNDERSTANDING their busy-brain dynamics. 🧠🐝
It's like peeling back layers to reveal their unique puzzle.
As a personal trainers, you have the power to guide them through this journey.
☑️Show them different perspectives, assure them they're not alone, and encourage small steps like simple meal prep or short walks.

Ignore Likes. Or follower count.
Or who unsubscribed or unfollowed.
Who’s thinking what or judging you or whatever.

So I know you are probably a Fitpro, with a lot to offer your people.
But maybe you just dont know how to communicate and package up the value in what you to offer, so you are not pitching your fitness/health/wellness program.
In this episode I talk about #5 Things To Include in Your Program Pitch So It SELLS!
1. Before you pitch, employ the mindset that what you have to offer is needed, people will buy it. You are helping people by offering your services.
2. Let people know who its for and not for, be clear..e.g is it for women only or men or both?
Is it for people who want quick fixes or a longer thing?
3. Highlight the results they can expect. Let them know what other clients results have been or list how they will feel from the program eg more confidence, energy, less stress.
4. What is it costing them not to solve this problem? (not monetary) let them know what will most likely happen if they keep putting off taking care of their health e.g more weight gain, cholesterol high etc
5. State clearly how they can sign up and what the deadline is. Is it a link, a dm, comment box? guide them so it is clear exactly how they sign up and pay.
Stop waiting for the perfect time to pitch your offer, get it out there and know it will sell!!!
