Being Open To Advice
It's a very meta #SaturdayMorningHustle sharing advice I was given about the Saturday Morning Hustle brand, future and achieving possibilities. Today I'm sharing input from a trusted advisor who "called me out" in the most constructive way possible in regard to me being serious about the SMH podcast, social media, website, products and overall brand without losing what it is that makes the concept behind the hustle so important. By doing a better job on the business side, my #SideHustle just might become more important and impactful to more people. I will translate the advice my friend gave me into actionable steps you can take for your career, self-brand, artistic or entrepreneurial pursuits. 1. A Self-Brand should be treated as a business 2. You might be too close to see the big picture 3. Collaboration and outside input is essential 4. No excuses (duh!) and I add a few more ideas of my own to round out this discussion. 5. Challenges are always good 6. Strive for more, but be yourself 7. Leave your comfort zone, but not your ethical limits 8. There is no perfect time to start 9. Things change, be patient while being assertive Hit me up on Anchor, Instagram, Twitter or YouTube with questions, comments and feedback. #SaturdayMorningHustle #Flashback True Success Comes From....
#Flashback 1 year ago #SaturdayMorningHustle True success comes from a positive attitude and willingness to give more than you take. We all #Hustle and #Grind every single day, #EvenOnTheWeekend too, for the opportunity to build something for ourselves and our family. That’s what it takes to be an #Entrepreneur, own your own business or propel your career as the best employee where you work. BUT that does not mean every minute of every day is spend getting just ourselves ahead. Often you need to do things that are not for you, but others. We (as a whole) don't do enough of this. At least 51/49 for them (the @GaryVee rule). Sometimes 100% for others. Don't expect a return, outside of a warm feeling in your gut and a positive voice in the back of your head. Why? It opens opportunities in ways you can never plan. Meet new people, hear new ideas or be inspired by others you would have never otherwise met. We all need that. The ROI is always positive, but it can't be measured in raw numbers. Trust me, this attitude has served me well. The more I give, the more I get. I’m having my best year ever, and I hope you are too. Get busy, hustle, grind and do what it takes. That includes giving more than you expect in return. Create value for others, and people will always see value in you. Good luck! What do you think about this flashback clip. Let's talk about it. Hit me up on Anchor, Instagram, Twitter or YouTube with comments. It's Saturday, I'm in the office so it must be the #SaturdayMorningHustle. Listen to the podcast every weekend while your competition is still sleeping. https://saturdaymorninghustle.com

Say Yes, Collaborate, Take the First Step, Find Success
Seems simple, but hard to actually execute on - how do you create your own #SaturdayMorningHustle success? Not necessarily a podcast (or maybe it is) but doing something that brings you great joy, opportunity and potential success. This was a common theme of many conversations I had this last week, so today I'm sharing the ideas, tactics and steps to success (as you define it) via something new or different. Bonus: Check out the Defining Moments podcast https://www.definingmomentspod.com/ from my pals Hoang and Margy Lam. Advice For Building A Brand Online
Happy 4th of July! I have been talking about the proper way to build audiences, brands on the #SaturdayMorningHustle for a long time. In fact, I posted this exact same topic (1-minute video) exactly 3 years ago. It's a #SaturdayMorningHustle Flashback (2017) - Want to be an #Entrepreneur or run a successful business? Avoid SM "experts" using inspirational quotes + stock photos of exotic cars and vacations. Instead, pay attention to people willing to share practical advice on how to build a business on a day-to-day basis. Don't let them sell you a "system" or "one weird trick" to success. Watch people who #Hustle #Grind and share #Advice along the way. Other people's success doesn't stop you from having success. Good luck to everyone willing to work hard for your dreams. Once you make some $$, don't blow it on superficial stuff. Build your brand THE RIGHT WAY in 2020/21. Happy 4th of July. Celebrate freedom, but please be careful. See you next week!

#SaturdayMorningHustle Success Comes From Change
Today I'm expanding of a #SaturdayMorningHustle social media post from 2017 about getting started, creating momentum and not being worried about being great when doing something for the first time. You didn't know how to ride a skateboard or bike the first time you tried. Learn through doing. It's the same for running a business or being an entrepreneur. There is no single way to be successful. It's all trial and error. Keep getting back on the board and trying again. #GoodLuck #Business #Success comes from change. #Entrepreneur #WorkSmart then #WorkHard #Truth #EvenOnTheWeekend #CoffeeAndDonuts #Grind #Hustle #StartUpLife #NoExcuses #BusinessOwner #Leadership #Dedication #Commitment #Change #OnTheGrind #Longboarding at our 1219 Creative office. 😬 Sorry for the squeaky board trucks on the flashback clip. Let's talk about it. Focus On Community
The concept of community is needed more than ever. As individuals, we need to come together for communication, collaboration and empathy with/for each other. This benefits everyone. There's also the concept of community building as a business model. No selling, more authentic engagement and brand loyalty. All you have to do is provide value first, not expect anything in return and let the community develop organically. This can be people in the same area, who have common interests (sports, music, politics, hobbies) or benefit from collaboration and shared efforts. Not sure how that all works, why you should consider it for yourself (as an individual) or for your business? Don't know how to get started? Concerned about conversion and economic value? Let's talk about it. It's Saturday, I'm in the office so it must be the #SaturdayMorningHustle. Listen to the podcast every weekend while your competition is still sleeping. https://saturdaymorninghustle.com

The Power and Practice of Authenticity
#SaturdayMorningHustle Advice: Always be authentic, promote by setting and then meeting expectations plus remember to document, don't create (stolen from the great Gary Vaynerchuk). Right now, every business, brand and organization needs to communicate as effectively as possible, but not to sell anything. Instead, need to be building relationships, presenting value in what you offer and thinking long-term (the short term is screwed up anyway). The best way to accomplish all this being dedicated to authenticity in all your communications. Forget "fake it until you make it" and instead be brutally honest, transparent and collaborative. Build, don't sell. Document, don't create. Offer more than expected. Keep it real. https://saturdaymorninghustle.com/

Just Like It's New Years Eve/Day
Time for a #SaturdayMorningHustle mental and physical reset. Let's transition from the heavy restrictions of COVID-19 towards our normal #RiseAndGrind #Hustle as #Entrepreneurs by doing what we do on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Throw yourself a party, make a plan for the new year with resolutions (goals) to achieve and then start over in the morning. Just because it's not January 1st doesn't mean we can decide to start over. Let all the stress, negativity and doubt go. Make everything new with a mental reset. Good luck and Auld Lang Syne to coronavirus. Then, get back to work. https://saturdaymorninghustle.com/

It's OK To Have A Bad Attitude If You Do The Work!
We all get frustrated, but we have things to accomplish. Even the most positive, upbeat people have moments, hours or even days of feeling zero motivation. It's OK. What's not acceptable is letting that negativity become your "new normal". That's a one-way ticket to loser town. Instead, acknowledge your doubts, frustrations and moments of weakness but then get back to work. Create momentum to move yourself into the win column. Just start, it gets easier as you go. Good works lead to great things. No one is feeling positive 100% of the time, so don't try t use any temporary setbacks as excuses. Reflect, learn what you can from that setback and come back stronger than ever. That's how you build success. It's Saturday, I'm in the office so it must be the #SaturdayMorningHustle. Listen to this podcast every weekend while your competition is still sleeping. The Saturday Morning Hustle t-shirts are now available at http://bit.ly/SMHshirt and www.saturdaymorninghustle.com/.

If you own or manage a business, then you have important decisions to make. I'm here to talk you through how your business can re-open in safe and smart ways PLUS using the tools, insights and lessons learned while under quarantine to move forward in better ways. This is NOT the "new normal" but a temporary period in our collective history. So, how do we go about getting back to real life again as individuals? Steady and smart. Let's get to work! #SaturdayMorningHustle to make up for lost time.

Permission To Feel (All The Emotions) From COVID-19 Limits On Your Life
A #SaturdayMorningHustle quarantine collective thought: We're all in this together, and IT SUCKS! COVID-19 is affecting everyone. For some, it's an inconvenience but for many the coronavirus is dangerous. Some are sick and many people have lost their jobs. A lot of small businesses are under duress and in danger of going bankrupt. All of these conditions can wreak havoc on your emotions and mental health. I have some advice for all you #hustlers and #Grinders out there: It's OK to feel frustrated, mad, sad, confused and hopeful all in the same day. Maybe even within a single hour. Just don't let that detract you from big-picture goals. Take moment, collect yourself and get back to work. Positivity and action are always required for success. It's Saturday, you might be #SocialDistancing at home, but you can still #RiseAndGrind your way to success. We're all in this together, and we all need to keep our collective heads up. Use common sense, wash your hands, stay home if you feel sick and never give up hope. That goes double for all you business owners - we need you to be successful. Leave a review on Podchaser: josSCYbanOfWaQJrOoVe

We Need Creative Solutions During COVID-19
YOU know how to #RiseAndGrind to outwork the competition while they're still sleeping on the weekend. You #WorkSmart and then #WorkHard to #EarnIt every day. You're an #Entrepreneur or #SmallBusiness Owner or #SelfBrand. We need that hustle, creative problem solving and willingness to break the rules to create something new RIGHT NOW as the country and the entire world combats the Coronavirus. DO NOT GIVE UP on your small business, your startup, your #NextBigThing idea because of the limitations put on all of us during the COVID-19 outbreak. Keep hustling, grinding and making your thing happen. We need you. Every idea has the potential to be a startup, which grows into a small business. This employs you and others, so you can support your family, friends and community. We need ALL our small businesses, existing and upcoming. Use common sense, wash your hands, practice #SocialDistancing but DO NOT give up on your business.

#SaturdayMorningHustle But At Home
It's Saturday and I'm hustling, but not in the office. Like everyone else, I am limiting my public interactions to help #LowerTheCurve of the COVID-19 Coronavirus here in the United States. But, that's no excuse to sleep all day, skip your work routine and be lazy. No, no, no, no! There's plenty to accomplish, even if you can't work full-out because of limits and restrictions due to concerns about public health. In fact, you might need to get extra work done or double-down on your #SideHustle due to standard business disruption. Find a creative solution and put in the extra effort to achieve your goals, even with the added limits we're all facing right now. Take care of yourself and others, wash your damn hands, don't go out if you feel sick and finally use common sense. I'll be back next week for more #Hustle and #Grind #EvenOnTheWeekend once again, just not in public. Keep your head up, stay positive, #WorkSmart and #WorkHard.

Leadership Lessons From 'Manager of the Century' Jack Welch on his passing.
Jack Welch was a very well known and respected business leader who passed away this week. Welch was an American business executive, chemical engineer, and writer. He was chairman and CEO of General Electric between 1981 and 2001. In 2006, Welch's net worth was estimated at $720 million. Welch was known for having very simple attitudes towards leadership. Here are just a few themes from the successful life of Jack Welch. "If you pick the right people and give them the opportunity to spread their wings and put compensation as a carrier behind it you almost don't have to manage them." - "I've learned that mistakes can often be as good a teacher as success." - "Willingness to change is a strength, even if it means plunging part of the company into total confusion for a while.

Cancer Sucks! Meet DeAndre Wilson and the Keep Rolling Campaign
Social Media doesn't always live up to it's potential, but occasionally cool things happen online. Last week, the #SaturdayMorningHustle caught the attention of DeAndre Wilson. He's the man behind the #CancerSucks Keep Rolling awareness campaign by pushing a 230-pound tire around Evansville Indiana to honor his father's memory. Wilson's father rolled that same tire for 18 months while going through chemotherapy for stage four liver and colon cancer. When he died five years ago, Wilson inherited the tire, which reads, "cancer sucks." Wilson called into the podcast to talk about it. Please listen to what he has to say, and then give him a follow on Twitter or Instagram at @DeAndreDWilson because he's doing an amazing thing talking to everyone about how much #CancerSucks in his life and all of our lives. "Meeting" Wilson via Twitter is the good side of social media, that's for sure.

Too High Makes Too Low Unbearable
It happens to everyone. Wins and losses. You will hear No more than Yes. Business, careers and brands all have highs and lows. Peaks and valleys in the path to success. Balancing the two is key, not letting lows kill what you have built and not letting highs inflate your ego. In fact, over-hyping your wins and creating unrealistic expectations for yourself on the upside can make minor setbacks seem even worse than it really is. Don't gaslight yourself. I'm in the slow period of the year for my business, coming right after our busy season. This advice is as much for me as it is for you. #WorkSmart then #WorkHard
Something you hear me say often on the #SaturdayMorningHustle is #WorkSmart then #WorkHard to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. It's not enough to just #Hustle and #Grind you need to be strategic in your approach to what you are working hard on, in what order and (here's the pièce de résistance for today) what must be done during "regular" business hours and what needs to wait for nights and weekends. Focus your efforts by organizing not only by importance, timeliness or even "hardest/least desirable task first" but also by working conditions like interruptions, collaboration partners, client demands and other outside influences you can't control. 6 minutes on how to work smart before you work hard and benefits that come from being strategic with your efforts. Welcome to the end of the year and a decade. But we're ending this year the same way we started it - #RiseAndGrind #SaturdayMorningHustle outworking the competition while they sleep in. That's the point of this podcast, to reaffirm that idea. #Hustle #Grind and #Effort are the keys to success. Being a boss isn't just about being in charge or making the most money. More important than that is control of your career, your life, your future. That comes from effort. First one in, last one out, Lead by example. Don't just walk the walk but talk the talk. Earn it all with hard work, determination and being smart with your time and effort. Never forget where you come from and who helped you along the way. Now, let's get to work! Thankful For Small Business Saturdays
It's time to be thankful, just a few days after Thanksgiving. What are we thankful for? Small businesses. The lifeblood of the American economy. Sure you #ShopLocal and #SupportLocal and once a year we have #SmallBusinessSaturday right after #BlackFriday and right before #CyberMonday (and don't forget #GivingTuesday) but supporting small businesses is a 365 day a year good idea. Serendipity. Karma. Ethics. Relationships.
Success comes in many different ways. Some call it serendipity, some call it karma, but for me it's all about business ethics, attitude and relationships. The #GoldenRule of business: Treat the client how you want to be treated, and that's exactly what will happen. This is my longest #SaturdayMorningHustle podcast yet for a really good reason. It's a 30-year story of doing good work, a positive reputation and providing value to creates business relationships that pay off for decades. If you're 15 or 50 or 115 there are lessons in this podcast today about the winding road that is a successful career and ultimately how you treat people you work with, for or in collaboration will determine how successful you can be in your career and in your life.

Future Planning..... on a Saturday
A few things every business needs, but CEOs just don't want to take the time to plan for..... a #SaturdayMorning plan to prepare your business for the worse while doing the work to be the best. A few themes were a part of my week that I want to share with you today as something you can work on today (and tomorrow): 1. Crisis management and communication protocols 2. Succession planning 3. Reputation management Why do these things go together? I'll tell you. First, no one wants to plan for bad things like a crisis, the loss of an important business leader or unflattering reviews BUT you need to. Just like insurance, you need to have protocols, action steps and decision making processes in place BEFORE YOU NEED THEM. Just like insurance, you hope you never need it, but when you do it's a major factor in continuing successfully. Listen as I explain all three, why they are important and the steps you need to take this weekend to begin these processes. Too many C-Suite leaders use the excuse of "taking away from day-to-day operations to not future plan. So my answer is to do it on the weekend, Now you don't have an excuse. You can't expect your business to run its lifespan without hiccups (or major f@#$ups). Get ahead of those missteps now. It's Saturday, I'm in the office so it must be the #SaturdayMorningHustle. Listen to the podcast every weekend while your competition is still sleeping. The Saturday Morning Hustle t-shirts are now available at http://bit.ly/SMHshirt. https://saturdaymorninghustle.com/

Say No More So You Can Say Yes More
It's a #SaturdayMorningHustle riddle for #Entrepreneurs - "How can saying No as often as possible create the opportunity to say Yes as often as possible? How does this equate to long-term success?" - think about that for a minute, then give the podcast a listen for the answer and how you can use this idea in your business (and life) pursuits. #Hustle #Grind and #HaveFun - How Is that Possible? Avoiding Burnout.
Yes, the #SaturdayMorningHustle is all about that #RiseAndGrind but burnout is a real thing, even for the most dedicated hustlers. Everyone eventually hits a wall, but it's different for each individual. So how can you stay at maximum efficiency to avoid crashing into the wall? Find ways to have a little fun. You make a plan to work hard, so also make a plan to avoid burnout. Take small breaks, find fun things to do while waiting for files to download, check social media only during coffee breaks or stops and call someone - an actual old fashion phone call to your BFF or parents or significant other just to remind you why you work so hear. #WorkSmart and #WorkHard for success. a bit of gamification or pauses in your overall hustle goes a long ways. What do you think? How do you keep from burning out or losing effectiveness? For Success, Build The Foundation FIRST!
It's an old saying but it applies perfectly to start-ups, entrepreneurs and business owners: "Crawl before you walk". Seems simple, but too many people want overnight success and do not want to be patient. The process of creating a business structure for the "Great Idea" that could become a start-up or changing and existing business plan for a major pivot is not the sexy part of entrepreneurship. It's hard work. It's saying No more than Yes because the audience, the market, competition, cost and other realities won't allow for every crazy idea to be explored. It's finding what works best and do that. A lot of that. It's a whole lot of paperwork. It's being patient. Why? Because that's crawling before you walk. Once you have a well-developed and vetted idea, you can build a brand to support the product/service. Then you can create the marketing strategy, the sales process, the distribution and delivery mechanisms. Now, you can start. Without all that, you will most likely not draw any attention at all and fail. If you draw attention but can't actually conduct a transaction, you fail. Even if you get attention and conduct the first transactions, can you sustain that? Once you can sustain your business, you have something that can be successful and create real wealth and opportunities for you, your family and friends. That's the ultimate goal. Take the time to give yourself the best opportunity to reach it. #SaturdayMorningHustle Bonus Advice: If your working a product or business just to get rich, stop now and go get a J-O-B somewhere else. To crawl before you walk you will need passion for the work and dedication of energy to make it happen. If that's you, best of luck! If not, save yourself some time and money. There is no such thing as easy money, get rich quick ideas or accidental success. Have passion and energy or #GTFO.

Handling Interruption To Your Schedule, System or Process
After a week of travel (for business) I'm way outside my normal routine. Even though I'm not as structured as many people, I do like having an idea of what needs to be done, in what order, how long something should take, etc.... But the key to being successful is the ability to handle situations that take you out of your comfort zone. That's often where the best work occurs. Don't be afraid of getting out of your routine, embrace it. Make a potential weakness a strength. My question for you is, are you super structured and organized or are you super fluid and flexible in your process? Let's talk about it. How do you prefer to work, and how do you get back on track if you are pushed out of that routine (or lack of a routine)? Cha-Cha-Cha-Changes!
We all have to adapt. Everyday in business or real life. The #SaturdayMorningHustle advice is to find the positives in change. Everything changes. Sometimes a little (minor adjustments) and sometimes a lot (like your fav. team trading your fav. player) but we have to keep #Hustling and #Grinding if we want to be successful. The key is finding the positives in change. Don't be mad you have to make changes, be happy you the opportunity to make your situation better. Let's talk about it. Are You Social Media Happy or Burned Out?
An ironic #SaturdayMorningHustle today. Let's talk about how much content we all (you and I) are taking in every day via the internet, email, smartphone apps, social media, video, podcast, blogs and "traditional" mediums like print, TV (network or cable) and radio. How much is enough to make you feel connected and how much is too much - making you want to turn it all off and go back to bed? Are you happy with your daily intake or burned out? To be honest, I'm burned out. The second half of the conversation is about your own mental health. How do YOU (yes you!) manage all these options? What techniques, attitudes or even technology do you use to make sure you can be social online without feeling overwhelmed? Do you have set rules in your home or office, physically move or even hide devices, etc....? Let's talk about it. Hit me up (the irony is not lost on this) on social media and tell me how you feel and how you manage it all. linktr.ee/KyleGolding It's Saturday, I'm in the office so it must be the #SaturdayMorningHustle. #RiseAndGrind #EvenOnTheWeekend #WorkSmart #WorkHard. The Saturday Morning Hustle t-shirts are now available for everyone at http://bit.ly/SMHshirt so get yours today. Let's Hear More Positive Feedback In The World
It's a #SaturdayMorningHustle idea so simple but so powerful and true. People appreciate positive reinforcement. Who doesn't love a compliment, big or small? Think about how you feel when some tells you something nice. Small things count too. Like on your social media post, positive comments, and people going out of their way to make a specific comment about how they like what you're doing. So if all this is true, why don't we all do more of it? Too often we use social media, phone apps, digital platforms and networking events to be negative, complain and not lift others up because we don't want the competition. For me, when I get positive comments online and #IRL about the Saturday Morning Hustle podcast, my business podcast (The Golding Group #NeoMarketing Podcast) and other activity it really lifts my spirits. The smallest act of kindness can do great things for people, so LET'S ALL DO MORE OF THAT! It's Saturday, I'm in the office so it must be the #SaturdayMorningHustle. #RiseAndGrind #EvenOnTheWeekend #WorkSmart #WorkHard. It’s a very different #SaturdayMorningHustle this week. We’re spending our Saturday at the office but not working. Instead, we’re collaborating with a local producer on the “Yes! Eat Your Own Dog Food
No, we're not on a new diet for the #SaturdayMorningHustle but instead reminding you (while reminding myself) that we all need to take advice and guidance we give to others as direction for ourselves. There's nothing like a less-than-happy conversation with a client to make you feel really stupid for expecting discipline and structure from them (of your making or theirs) but not yourself. Trust me, I'm speaking from very recent experience. This is called "eating your own dog food" or "taking your own medicine" or "walking it like you talk it" - you get the message, right? Too many people in business and other pursuits fear rules or structure because they don't want to be constrained or held back by a business plan or marketing strategy. Of course, this is misguided. The plan create structure with room to adapt so you can be creative or make different decisions on the fly when adaptation is needed. That's how it's (supposed to be) designed to work best. Everyone needs to be working towards the same goals, via different objectives and tactics while remembering the big picture. Anything "held back" by a good plan probably deserves to be skipped. So, what is one way (or more) you can do more of what you say or eat your own dog food better after this gentle reminder? How will you be better at following the rules you set in order to reach success in a better way? Best of luck! Make Your Best Plan Knowing There Will Be Change
The simple truth is there is no simple, singular path to success - big or small. Most of the time something (or everything) fails to work out as planned. BUT, that's not an excuse to skip the plan and jump in without a strategy in place. That's even worse. The key to success is making a plan, developed via a strategic process with goals, objectives, tactics, tools, assets and measurement that can adapt as needed. Because you will need to make changes along the way. The better prepared you are to change with circumstances, the more likely you will be in achieving your ultimate success. Let's talk about it! It's Saturday, I'm in the office so it must be the #SaturdayMorningHustle. #RiseAndGrind #EvenOnTheWeekend #WorkSmart #WorkHard The #SaturdayMorningHustle t-shirts are now available for everyone at http://bit.ly/SMHshirt so get yours today and tell the world your willing to do what it takes to make it to the top. Being Social On Social Media
It's such a simple concept: social media. Platforms for people to connect with each other from anywhere at anytime without limitations. It's like everyone is invited to the party, class, meeting, conference, exhibition, etc. no matter where you are or how you get there. BUT the platforms quickly declined into the home of trolls, spammers and scam artist. There is hope. I'm seeing a shift in how people understand social media, the internet, mobile technology, etc. and it's for the good. Entrepreneurs, marketers and business decision-makers are pulling back from selling and doing a better job of communicating by being social. Like the wise man once said, start with your WHY long before you get to the how, what and for how much. Don't use SM to prospect wide and close what you can, but instead tell your story and connect with people as people. What you want them to do (buy something, go somewhere, support a cause, vote, riot, etc.) will naturally occur once you take the opportunity to create relationships. THAT is what social media is supposed to do. Good luck, see you next week!

Avoid The Entrepreneur Roller Coaster Of Success and Failures
Roller coasters are supposed to be fun because you get to climb to the top of the track, look around at everything and then all-of-a-sudden whoosh your diving downward at top speed. Twist, turns and even loops. That's great fun at an amusement park but not when running a business. A metaphorical roller coast ride as an entrepreneur is having an epic high like a new client, big check or other great success but then what goes up must also come back down. Often in business, these highs and lows happen in the same week. That's the roller coaster. So, what do you do? Strive for a more predictable middle. Avoid making decisions when you're at the very top or very bottom. Understand that neither the euphoria of wins or the dread of a loss (taking an "L") is permanent. Predictability is key to a successful business, so go after those highs to balance the lows (it happens to everyone, not just you) but work towards consistency. The roller coaster is a lot of fun, but it's exhausting at the same time. If you want a long, healthy career try staying off the roller coaster or at least try to make it a short ride. Don't think you're bulletproof when you are on top and don't quit just because you came crashing back down. Balance yourself and understand we all take this ride from time to time. Good luck! See you next week. May the forth (5/4/19) be with you. #SaturdayMorningHustle Startup OKC Weekend-Long Startup Competition at Project 3810
It's an exciting #SaturdayMorningHustle weekend around here! Startup OKC - A Weekend-Long Startup Competition is happening in our building Project 3810. I love this stuff. Young, up-and-coming entrepreneurs all get in a room to meet, discuss potential business ideas and form teams to develop the best ideas and pitch to a panel of experts for constructive criticism. It's the process of starting a business, just shrunk into a weekend and executed in a safe space for learning and developing as a professional. If you're not interested in the process, feedback, change and working within realistic expectations than you have no business calling yourself an entrepreneur. An open mind, adaptability and strategic (not just tactical) thinking are the keys to starting and managing a successful business. So, what is Startup OKC? Startup OKC is a 3-day event during which teams of participants pitch ideas for new startups. They then form teams around the ideas presented, and work the entire weekend to build an MVP (minimum viable product), identify customers, refine MVP, market research, customer validation, refine MVP, validate, business model & rollout strategy, pitch prep & finally on Sunday evening. Pitch! Throughout the weekend participants network with other teams and individuals at Startup OKC. Mentors will be in and out throughout the weekend. The mentors are some of the best and innovative minds from around Oklahoma City. Good luck to everyone participating in Startup OKC and all of you out there in universe. If you need some advice from a mentor, hit me up on social media or at TheGoldingGroup.com. See you next week. It's Saturday, I'm in the office so it must be the #SaturdayMorningHustle.

A Time For Appreciation To Say Thank You
What an amazing morning, at the end of a great week in a super month. That's right, everything is going well and I am full of gratitude for the opportunity to create a career that I love so much I work "extra" on the weekend. As Mark Twain once said: “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” and I'm right there. When things are going well for us, we need to remember that a lot of other people are playing their part in our success. The key is to give back more than you are receiving. Be a part of others finding their passion, their calling, their success. I'm so thankful for my business partners, our clients, our vendors, community collaborators and anyone who's putting great things into the universe and allowing us to amplify that. Take a moment to think about how you fill a role in what other people in your life and profession are doing. Enjoy that feeling. You earned it. Finally, respect to all of Oklahoma and OKC on the 24th anniversary of the 4/19/95 Murrah Building bombing when we lost 168 lives here in Oklahoma City and a blessing to all on this Easter weekend. Enjoy your blessings. See you next week!

Collaboration Time!
Today is a different #SaturdayMorningHustle because I’m doing a little collaboration with local content producer and all-around good guy Dennis Spielman. Inspired by TEDx Oklahoma City
It's Saturday and I'm in the office all fired up because I had an amazing experience at TEDx Oklahoma City yesterday. The speakers (some I knew, other hearing for the first time), the people in the room together and the opportunity to open yourself up to new, different and challenging thoughts was exactly what I needed. I love the exchange of ideas. I like being challenged and debated on thoughts and processes. I think it's good to have healthy, respectful conversations with constructive criticisms and challenges to the status quo. That's what happened yesterday. How about you? Do you enjoy the process or just the end results? Are you open to ides that are not your own? Think Like An Entrepreneur In Your Career
The #SaturdayMorningHustle is for everyone, not just Entrepreneurs. Anyone can use this advice in your career pursuits. Success always comes to those who work the hardest, make the most of every situation and refuse to lose. It doesn't matter how many times you get knocked down, but how many times you get back up. That also applies when working for other people. Don't let any single setback, big or small, deter you form your career vision. Don't let the day-to-day drag down your long-term goals. Think like an entrepreneur in your career. You will have a job of some sort for the majority of your life, so don't let any day, week, month or year (a small % of your overall life) stop you. Keep #Hustling and #Grinding #EvenOnTheWeekend to control your own success. Good luck, see you next week!

#RiseAndGrind #Hustle Even When Your Under The Weather
Can you hear the scratchiness in my voice this week? Yes, I'm less than 100% but the show must go on. I'm sharing some insights from my Better Business Bureau of Central Oklahoma #TrustTalk this week, including great advice like: “Don’t be better, be different.” “Take your weakness and make it your strength.” “Fake it till you make it is a disaster. Be yourself.” “It’s okay to ignore anyone who says you can’t do something, but you can’t ignore reality." “Effort doesn’t necessarily equal success. Focused, smart, strategic efforts equal success.” Full video coming soon! Making Adjustments In Business and Life
The #SaturdayMorningHustle is all about making adjustments. In business and life, things almost never go 100% to plan. Things happen. Being able to adjust is key to making the best of any situation. The small, daily adjustments we all make are easy. Big, life-altering changes are harder. Should you quit your job, change careers, move across the country? Sometimes that’s what it takes to be successful or find what makes you happy. So be open to the idea of making that adjustment in your life. Don’t close your mind to the possibilities. Talk with family and friends and make good, informed decisions. Best of luck to you! This episode was inspired by a conversation with a good friend who listens to this podcast. Call in, make a comment on social media and let me know what you want to talk about next Saturday. Thanks.

What Are You Working On & What Do You Need To Succeed
#SaturdayMorningHustle today, I'm not giving any business advice or inspirational quotes. Instead, I'm asking you these 2 question: What are you working on and how can I (or anyone listening to the podcast) help you? It's just that simple. On the Anchor.fm app use the call-in feature. If you're listening on iTunes or Spotify or another podcast service find me on Twitter @KyleGolding or Instagram @TheKyleGolding and leave your answer in the comment section. I will try to answer all I can, or maybe someone else will see it on social media and offer their help as well. That's the point of social media, right? Thanks for tuning in this week! Tell a friend. #SocialMedia #Advice #Community #Collaboration

Stop Stealing Content To Build Online Presence.
It's the simplest of all social norms: Don't steal other people's things. This includes creative ideas and content. Not just word-for-word copy and paste style plagiarism but lifting ideas, styles and execution is just wrong. No one appreciates this. The internet and social media have presented all of us an opportunity to connect with others and communicate in new and interesting ways. The only rule is to be yourself. Don't build your self-brand on someone else's concept. Authentic audience development is the only way to create something valuable and sustainable. Shortcuts and unethical behavior is the exact opposite. You don't have to be the most interesting person on the planet to have an audience, you just have to be your authentic self. Good luck!

The Value Of Self-Worth In Your Career And Life
It's a #SaturdayMorningHustle first..... I'm going to suggest you listen to my business podcast this week. It's typically all business, marketing, etc. but the current episode is about you defining success and not wrapping your own self esteem or value in a job title, salary level or someone else's definition of being successful. Don’t let any single setback kill your dreams. Life's not fair, so keep on your #Hustle and #Grind to win. My business partner Pritch Pritchard, APR and I discuss and provide examples from our careers you can learn from. On each episode of the #NeoMarketing podcast, The Golding Group we briefly (12-15 mins.) discuss best practices, latest trends and modern techniques for professional business communications options. Our goal is to be educational, informative and (hopefully) entertaining. Check out The Golding Group #NeoMarketing podcast on iTunes http://bit.ly/TheGoldingGroup + videos on YouTube http://bit.ly/GoldingGroupYouTube or stream on Spotify http://bit.ly/NeoPodcast.

Make Connections, Give Back To Your Business Community, Win-Win
I'm typically motivated on the #SaturdayMorningHustle but today I'm really fired up after a very fulfilling experience this week I want to share with you. Twice a year I teach a 2 hour class on Marketing / Advertising for the local Career Tech. My class is one in a series on small business education like accounting, legal, social media, etc. My fav. part is meeting entrepreneurs, small business owners and people considering taking the leap into the world of business. Helping these people understand how to best succeed but also what to avoid (so they don't blow all their money) is very rewarding. I also find great value in putting my expertise to the test. Like the Albert Einstein Quote "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough" teaching a beginner class to a range of people forces me to simplify complex ideas and communicate in a very direct and effective way. Ultimately, playing a small part in developing our small business community and taking the challenge of explaining in a simple fashion both add up to a very fulfilling experience. If you get a chance to support others while expanding your ideas about business or career success - I suggest you do it. It's good for the community and it will motivate you as well. A true Win-Win. See you next week!

There's Plenty Of Success For Everyone To Get Their Shot
A key to success: not letting BS (in your head or from other people) slow you down. Don't worry about what everyone else is doing, saying or working on. Even if they're competing with you for a client, job or some other prize. Focus on being your best for all the right reasons. Stay true to what gives you a reason to work harder, longer and better than them. Don't let their shortcuts, questionable tactics or even straight up unethical behavior affect your hustle. You do you. The right path to the success you want (whether you know it or not) will reveal itself when you tune out all the noise and stay true to yourself. Good luck! See you next week.

Giving Thanks And Keeping It Social
First, I want to thank everyone who listens to the #SaturdayMorningHustle podcast, but especially when I get to hear your stories of motivation, hustle and grind. But, not everyone can #RiseAndGrind on Saturday mornings and that’s OK. The key to success is focusing on what you can control - your effort. It doesn’t matter if it’s this morning, tomorrow or sometime next week. If you want more, you gotta work more - when and how you can. You don't have to do it the way I do it, but you do have to find ways to work smart and work hard. Let me know when and how you put in the extra hustle. Let’s get social on social media. It’s a two way conversation. Maybe your story will motivate and connect with others as well. Until next week, good luck and stay safe out there.

Career, Side-Hustle or Hobby - Levels of Entrepreneurship
Today on the #SaturdayMorningHustle, I run through the levels of entrepreneurship: Side-Hustle, Project Based, Outside Interest, Second Career and Hobby. Each has it's own set of rules, expectations and return on investment (or lack of). If your full time / part time J-O-B isn't enough for you, here are a few options. Let's clear up some confusion about the differences and similarities between having a career working for someone else or being an Entrepreneur and the levels of transition in-between. There are many options to "being your own boss" with levels of risk, freedom and fringe benefits. Let's Discuss.

The Key To Success Is......
Good morning and welcome to the first #SaturdayMorningHustle for 2019. With the new year comes a lot of New Year Resolutions and other standards people try to hold themselves to. If "business" is one of your topics for 2019 you need to know a couple of simple but powerful ideas about how to best achieve success in 2019 - focus on 2 key things: How much effort you put into your pursuits AND controlling what you can, not everything. If you can do this, you will find real empowerment as an entrepreneur, self-brand or rock star employee climbing the corporate ladder. Hustle, grind and put extra effort in to outwork "the other guy/girl" is something you have control over. Every great champion credits the training that got them to the top levels. Do the same for your career. If you cannot focus on what you control, you will burn out from letting outside factors effect your work flow, attitude and outlook. Do what you can, when you can and understand all other factors are outside your control (and often your competitors control as well). Don't worry about weather, the stock market or who is President. Stay connected to who you are, what you're trying to accomplish and why. Best of luck in 2019. See you next week!

Now Is The Time - Do Something!
It's the last Saturday in 2018 and everyone is reflecting on the last year and planning for the future. Now is the time to make a plan for success and then DO SOMETHING to put it into play. I got a t-shirt from OKC media consultant Patrick Allmond this week with a simple but powerful message perfect for starting 2019 off right: Stop Doing Nothing. So simple, but so true. Yes, you need to make a plan, create a to-do list and create goals, objectives, tactics, etc.... BUT without action it's all worthless. So let's get started. You don't have to wait until Monday, New Years Day or any other artificial deadline - get to work right now. If you want it bad enough, you will work for it. Stop ding nothing and get your hustle and grind on. Grab a cup of coffee, power up with a donut and make it happen. No excuses. Good luck! See you next week for the first show if 2019. Remember The Reason For The Season - The People, Not The Work
It's almost time for a holiday break. A few days off to spend time with family and friends. Remember the reason for the season! #SaturdayMorningHustle advice: Take some time off during the holidays to spend real time with real people important to you - family, friends and community. After all, isn't that the reason we all hustle and grind #EvenOnTheWeekend to make a better life for the people around us? Spend some holiday down time really enjoying the act of being present (pun intended) for others. You can always work extra next week. No matter what holiday you're celebrating (or not celebrating at all) I wish you and yours the best! Next, we #RiseAndGrind again for the last time in 2018.

Character Without Action Is Useless
Another #SaturdayMorningHustle Accountability Conversation: putting action behind your decisions. It’s not enough to have great character in your decision making process, but you MUST put action behind the idea or its worthless. This is not just in your personal life but also your business life. People want to hire and do business with people they can trust with decisions and actions. You need both! Good luck!!

It's that time of year, everyone is playing nice for Santa (or their boss). But were you a good person all year, not just in December? Do you make decisions based on what's best for all or just you? Do you have character? Do you do the right thing, even if it's unpopular or even gets you into a tough situation? As we end the year let's talk about accountability, starting with character. You either have it, or you don't. Here's why it's important.....

Small Business Saturday Hustle
Let's talk about how important small business is for our local, state and national economy. The majority of people in the United States are employed by small businesses. This time of the year, #BlackFriday and #CyberMonday get all the attention and a lot of your $$$. To make sure we don't lose our small businesses due to the holiday "big box" retail push, #SmallBusinessSaturday is essential. Almost as essential is #GivingTuesday on the 27th for supporting non-profits. So. get out there today and spend some of your cash on goods and services from small businesses. Locally owned businesses employ people and buy/sell raw materials and support items. All of this creates tax opportunities for your city and state. Keep your money local, support great employers and be a smart consumer by shopping at a small business (or 7) today. Thanks! See you next week. Good luck!!

Can't Judge An Entrepreneur By The Cover
Something struck me recently about the changing ideas of what makes one an entrepreneur, hustler, influencer, business leader, etc.... This last week I've interviewed a few entrepreneurs, hosted a small business/entrepreneur event and been in multiple meetings. Every time, I looked at the people involved and realized there was no "set" type of person. Old, young, male, female, suit-and-tie or jeans and a t-shirt types. All types of people, pursuing their career or other passions while trying to find ways to make it all work. That's the common bond - making your "thing" work because that's what you want to do with your life. From that, comes the common traits of successful people. Drive, determination and work ethic. You gotta want it and you gotta be willing to work for it. Not just long, hard hours but odd, not convenient hours. Are you willing to do more than "the other guy/girl" to be successful? That's what really matters. Not what you look like, where you came from, what your favorite band is or how "cool" you are. That's the common denominator. Good luck, see you next week!

Make Excuses -OR- Make Progress.
You can only do one, so choose! Make Excuses -OR- Make Progress. Do you have #SaturdayMorningHustle in you or not? If you're in it to win it, then you have no time for worrying, blaming others or finding reasons not to do something. If you want to be successful, get to work! Hustle and grind even on the weekend if you're a true Entrepreneur, Business Owner or #1 employee. Grab a cup of coffee, a donut and then work if success is what you want. It's all up to you. The only thing you can control is your effort, focus and passion for what you do. Procrastination and excuses -OR- accomplishments and success. As the old saying goes, Winners never quit and Quitters never win. It's all up to you. One month ago today I missed a Saturday Morning Hustle for the first time in over a year due to complications from surgery. But, I didn't let missing time off work, being sore and uncomfortable while healing stop me from reaching goals and getting my work done. You can do it too. Like Nike says, Just Do It! Work / Life Balance - Holiday Edition
The #SaturdayMorningHustle is all about effort: #Hustle and #Grind #EvenOnTheWeekend BUT you can’t lose sight of why you’re doing the work. Dont forget what it is that motivates you to put in that extra work. The people who are important in your life, a drive to be the best you can be or simply taking a challenge head on. With the upcoming holidays are full of distractions, but you can’t let that kill the motivation that you’ve created all your long. At the same time, you shouldn’t ignore family and friends in order to put in extra work on your side hustle, start-up, self brand or small business. So how do you balance the Entrepreneur life during the holidays? Adapt. In Nov. and Dec. your regular schedule will be tested. The “extra” time you find on nights and weekends will be less thanks to holiday parties, shopping and family time. The key is to find new, often smaller, times and situations to utlize. Stay motivated, focused and most of all organized. Use free time between work, family and fun times to prep for dedicated work times. Make the most of what you can, when you can. All without skipping out on the important people in your life. Enjoy some time off for the holidays. Spend time with family and friends. Recharge your batteries and reaffirm your motivation. See you next week. Good luck!

The Future Is Collaboration
Stop, collaborate and listen. The #SaturdayMorningHustle is back with a brand new edition. I’m all about collaborating as the best pathway to success. In 2018 (2019 and beyond) the old rules of business no longer apply. New business models and combinations are creating new opportunities. Virtual businesses, side-hustles and startups are taking advantage of collaboration and non-traditional working arrangements for win-win situations. We’re doing this with all our clients at The Golding Group. Welcome to the future. Find the right partners for all the right reasons and collaborate. Alternatively, walk away from inequitable business relationships and “in the box” thinkers. That’s old news and not where you want to be. Your happiness will be up and your stress down if you choose to collaborate with the right partners for the right reasons. Work smart, work hard, be open to the process and success will follow.

The #SaturdayMorningHustle Make-Up Show
Sorry everyone, but we didn’t get to do a show last week because I ended up with a little too much #Hustle, too much #Grind and an unplanned hospital stay. I’m OK now, and in fact I’m back at work in my home office this week trying to catch up from being off last week due to being in the hospital. Thank goodness we have so many opportunities to work remotely, digitally and other ways in order to keep the process moving along, keep our clients happy, keep our bosses happy and meet those deadlines without too much disruption thanks to modern technology. So many jobs these days can be accomplished on a laptop, a smart phone, tablet or any place that has Internet access. This made life possible for me this week for sure. But, You don’t have to wait for an illness or accident in order to allow your staff, key members, PT or others to work remotely. The key is finding balance in the new found freedom‘s vs. accountability, deadlines, expectations and the workflow of others. This situation is different for every office, whether a start up, existing company or a digital entity that doesn’t have a physical space. The key is making sure every member of your team feels valued for what they’re contributing and not allowing anyone to “gig the system” and not pull their own weight. God luck! See you next week.

Pattern Interrupt For The Win. Be Consistent BUT Be Flexible And Adaptable Too.
Break your patterns! Interrupt your routine. Avoid burnout and create opportunity for yourself. Be creative. #SaturdayMorningHustle keys to success include #Hustle #Grind and #Consistency but occasionally you need to take a break. The question is when and how? The answer is.... it’s up to you. Everyone is different. In communications, it’s called a pattern interruption. Change the standard response to create a new, difference opportunity to connect. Be interesting. Be memorable. But most of all, find ways to connect, communicate and create the potential for a relationship (personal, business or other). #WorkSmart then #WorkHard but find ways to make your routine less routine to keep your battery charged and communications open.

Balance Is More than Just Work / Life
Lot's of people talk about Work / Life balance for entrepreneurs, business owners, side hustlers and #RiseAndGrind personalities but balance is more than that. Finding real balance in your life when you have dedicated yourself to building a business, career or self-brand also includes how and when you talk about your pursuits, when to "sell" and when to pass and when to be proud of what you do (and how you do it) vs. being obnoxious about it. You can't be shy or nothing ever happens BUT if you're about that life 150% of the time you don't have room for anything (or anyone) else. So how does one manage passion with being social or drive to succeed with being supportive of others? Let's talk about it on the last #SaturdayMorningHustle Podcast for September of 2018. Join the discussion. Thanks and good luck!

The Secret To Success Is The Ability To Change
Everyone on their #SaturdayMorningHustle right now is after the same thing - Success! Everyone has a different definition of being successful and the path to your ultimate success has a million possibilities. But, the one constant I have found in life and in business is the most successful people are those who can manage change the best. There are plenty of other ingedients, including hustle, talent, integrity, etc..... but the constant is how you put these elements behind implementing change. So today, we're going to talk about it. Call in (on the Anchor App) or comment on social media if you agree, disagree, want to hear more or have other Saturday morning topics to discuss. Thanks and Good Luck!

Setting & Meeting Audience Expectations For Business Success
A central theme of my last four new client orientations (for The Golding Group) has been the function of Branding and Marketing as a filter to the sales funnel, not a catch-all. Too many people want their brand, marketing, advertising and PR to be "everything to everyone" which is a mistake. The best business marketing sets expectations for exactly what your business provides (and doesn't) how your product/service operates (and doesn't) and why EXACTLY they should be spending their money to acquire it. Everything else is just fluff. Focus on setting and meeting expectations with a realistic approach to your branding, highly focused marketing and disciplined operations create efficiency and effectiveness in your sales process. More conversion, less cost per customer and better overall profit potential. Let your branding and marketing create a sales pipeline, not a funnel. Stay focused from the beginning. Best of luck! #SaturdayMorningHustle #Advice

#SaturdayMorningHustle Advice: Take The Advice You Pay For
Don Draper on Mad Men once told the owner of scandalized Caldecott Farms dog food “Any agency that does not change the name is stealing your money”. She does not agree of course. Draper goes on to tell her to find a new agency because she won't follow his professional advice - and he's right! This advice is very similar to a quote of mine in an article The Reasons Why Agencies Say ‘No’ to New Business - “If you’re not willing to make changes, then why are you hiring us?” added Golding, who looks for executives that are not only comfortable with his agency’s ideas but excited about them. https://databox.com/why-agencies-say-no Don Draper and I agree, anyone you hire (or hires you) has to be a "fit" in style, approach and willingness to do what works, not what's easy or what the client wants to hear. That's just stealing your money. Sometimes it doesn't work out, and the professional relationship should end.

Focus On The Reason We Hustle - Even On The Weekend
A #SaturdayMorningHustle reminder to stay focused on what’s important for you. The reason I come in early, stay late, hustle, grind and do all the things I do for my business is because I’m trying to build something for my family to live the life we want to live. It’s not always about becoming rich and famous. It’s about doing what feels good to you, what feels right to you and what makes sense for you. When you combine those things in a business that can be profitable (and sustainable) you’re doing it the right way and not for all the wrong reasons. Understanding your “Why" (you know what I’m talking about right? Simon Sinek - Start With Why - Go look him up if you don’t know) makes it all happen in the right way. Can you combine your “Why” and your experience and your passion? Something that makes you want to work this hard, along with something that can be sustainable, for your family, the way you want live? It’s not about someone else, it’s not about society, it's about you.

The Real Way To Build Real Success In The Real World
Everyone wants to talk about how bad they want success, what they are willing to do for it, how long it's been on their mind (since I was a kid!). Only a portion of these same people actually have the talent to pull it off. Of that group, who is willing to hustle, grind and patiently build from the ground up? The building process is where success comes from. Not ista-fame or being an overnight sensation, but actually building a brand (or self brand) from nothing. Why? Because understanding how it was build will allow you to adapt to changes that WILL happen. The market, your audience, the competition will push back on your vision of the brand. Things will change. Will you know what to do when that change occurs? And then when it happens again (and again, and again)? The key to sustainable success is understanding every element of a business. How you got from idea to launch to audience attention to success. Skipping steps or having someone hand you a finished product does NOT do that!

#SaturdayMorningHustle Real World Inspiration Shout Outs!
We discuss a lot on the Saturday Morning Hustle including tips, advice and business insights but we also try to motivate and inspire when possible. Nothing inspires me more than hearing from people IRL (in real life) who listen to/watch the SMH on podcast, video and social media. Today's post has two examples of people who are building their own success in the world who also happen to be fans of the #SaturdayMorningHustle podcast. How cool is that! Let's all be motivated by other people just like us working hard and seeing the rewards. Thanks for listening!

Work Smart Then Work Hard For #SaturdayMorningHustle Success
There are two equally important aspects to creating success. #WorkSmart and then #WorkHard. You can't just do one or the other and expect to win. #WorkSmart is the research, planning and documentation of how you will create your successful endeavor. This is your business plan, your strategy and financials. You must have these in order to create and capitalize on attention and conversion of your marketing efforts. This is a lot of work, and can be intimidating for many. But once done, this information will make decison making easy and fast with assurance you're on the right path. Very helpful when all you see is work and not enough rewards (yet). Be patient. #WorkHard is the hustle and grind. You have to execute every single day. It's a marathon, consisting of hundreds of sprints. Stay focused and consistent. Work every aspect of your plan from the most basic item to the top-end. Put max effort into your #WorkSmart plan or it will fail. Start with a plan before #WorkHard to win!

Motivating Entrepreneurs, Start-Ups & Fitness Professionals
The #SaturdayMorningHustle didn't start as a podcast, but a series of social media posts about the #Hustle and #Grind of owning your own business. These posts connect with entrepreneurs, business owners and everyone willing to work hard for what they wanted to achieve because I'm actually in the office every Saturday putting in extra work. One group that really connects with this idea are fitness professionals. No other lifestyle is more connected to "working hard every day to see results" more than the gym crowd. The irony is I am not in shape like these fitness coaches and trainers. But, we do have a similar mindset, work ethic and need to motivate others to achieve their goals. My aim is to help business people of all types, which includes fitness businesses as well. If you have a question or need advice for your startup, small business or self-brand (fitness, health or other) please feel free to connect with me on social media (or call-in on Anchor). That's what I'm here for.

People Will Steal Your Ideas. Do It Anyways.
That's right, not everyone on the planet is ethical (or honest). Plenty of people you have never met (or might be very close to you) are willing to take other people's ideas and pass them off as their own. I'm not condoning it, I'm just telling you it can/will happen. But, you still need to innovate. Come up with new ideas, approaches, tactics and ways of doing things. Do not let the potential theft of your next great idea slow or stop you. Put yourself out there, and see who does it better. Focus on your audience and your success. Anyone looking for a shortcut will end up short in the end. Make them work hard to keep up with you. Stealing ideas and claiming credit is not sustainable. Go for it! #SaturdayMorningHustle #BestOfLuck

Back To The Basics. Build It Right From The Ground Up.
The most practical advice I can give you on the #SaturdayMorningHustle is this: Start every idea, project or promotion the same way you build a business. Begin with the best idea possible. Don't be an "us too" offering but really find something new or a new way to do it. Make sure that idea solves a problem for people. That makes it valuable, something people will pay you for. Set your idea apart, differentiate what it is, how it works, how you deliver it, etc.... Do all of this with your audience wants and needs in mind, not your wants (or ego). If you do that, you will have something people are willing to pay for, delivered the way they want. Last but not least, make sure it's profitable. That profit will pay back startup cost and keep you going when things are not working perfectly. If everything goes well, profit will make it possible to expand. Measure, adjust, do it all again - just better.

Focus On What's Really Important.
We’re all about the Hustle and Grind on the #SaturdayMorningHustle podcast, but today we focus (or refocus for some) on what’s really important. Don’t lose sight of why you’re trying to be successful. Put in the extra effort, but also make time for family, friends and community.

Business Concepts for Events, Non-Profits & Personal Brands
Today on the #SaturdayMorningHustle, I translate the business marketing process into a simple format with tips everyone can use for your next event, non-profit organization or personal brand - artist, musician, entrepreneur, fitness, SM influencer, etc.... Goals, strategy, objectives, tactics, measurement and adjustment is the process (we discuss this fully on my business podcast The Golding Group #NeoMarketing on iTunes) which might seem like a lot of work. But, for an individual or smaller project this process can be simplified if you understand the basics. That's what I'm going to give you in 5 minutes this morning. Waht you do with it will be up to you.

The Key To Success Is......
Everyone is chasing some sort of success. Business, self-brand, art/music or community efforts. That success is measured by one metric: Conversion. Getting your target audience to do something. Buy, vote, donate, attend, click, call, etc..... The way to make that happen is understanding of your audience, the reasons they will say Yes or No, the other options available and what is most likely to motivate to action. All that, in just 5 minutes today. If you want to know more, or check out other topics, visit https://saturdaymorninghustle.com. Thank you and best of luck! See you next week.

Ups and Downs of Success!
Success is a series of hurdles. Some are easy, some are harder, some seem impossible. That's the grind, this is where hustle and drive are needed. If it's worth doing, it will be hard. But, everyone on TV, social media and the internet only show you the cars, vacations and bling that comes from their (claimed) success. The grind isn't pretty and no one wants to admit they struggled, failed, got discouraged and maybe even quit (but then came back). That is the reality of anyone who has achieved a level of success that you are sitting at home hoping to emulate. True story! Do NOT be discouraged when your success journey has highs and lows. It's all part of the process. Get up early, stay up late, work on the weekend and do what you need to do for your success. Do not focus on how easy it was for someone else, because it wasn't as easy as they say. Best of luck!

What is Success? How You Define It & What You Do With It.
The great thing about the pursuit of success is everyone gets to define what success means to them. A million $$, a hundred million $$, work/life balance, serving others, etc.....? But don't stop there! What are you going to do with that success once you have achieved it? Let's talk about it. I have a few ideas, and an example of someone doing it right.

Making Mistakes and Owning The Process
Everyone makes mistakes. It happens in business and in life. No one is perfect. The key to success is what you learn from each mistake, steps you take to change so it doesn't happen again and owning up to it so you can move forward. Too many people get too focused on the small stuff or what a setback means in the very immediate short term. Take a step back and look at how mistakes and other errors are great teachers and allow us the opportunity to own up to the shortcoming. That ownership puts you in the position of earning back the trust of everyone involved. Why? Because mistakes happen, and your clients, co-workers and associates will not be afraid to trust your judgment if you make everything work for you in a positive way even when things don't go as planned. If your not making mistakes, you're not trying hard enough. Keep pushing, keep learning and keep growing. Best of luck!

No Does Not Mean Never, Unless You Give Up
#SaturdayMorningHustle Truth - NO doesn't mean never, it means not right now. Use the feedback of a NO to go back to the drawing board, edit, adapt and make your idea stronger. You will hear NO more often than YES in business and life. You can still win as long as you don't let any singe NO stop or even slow you down you going after your goals. Good luck!

David Defeated Goliath By Strength vs. Weakness
You know the story of David vs. Goliath, right? The average man David slew the undefeated giant Goliath with a simple slingshot. But how does this apply to today, and for business? Simple: Positioning. The process of competing by utilizing your business strengths, mitigating your weaknesses and never going head-to-head with your competitor greatest strengths. You can't beat Wal-Mart with price or selection but you can win the customer service battle. Find the place (the position) in your industry that maximizes your strengths without competing with others greatest strength. This gives you best advantge to win. The only way to find your truest position is be honest about your strengths/weaknesses, research your competition and execute tactics based on this information and not your ego, gut feeling or "how we've always done it" excuses. Good luck!

Adaptable, Flexible, Collaborative.
To find success, you really need the ability to change situationally. Not major changes (unless forced) but adapting along the way. Everyone I had interactions with this week needed to make changes in their organization. Some big, some small some just being open to new things. If any of them had a "how we've always done it" attitude they would have set themselves and their organizations back. Being open to change, listening to collaborative ideas and allowing the problem to be solved instead of insisting they were right was the best, most successful way to solve the problems at hand. Anyone can hold themselves back be being selfish and unbendable. Instead, look for ways to incorporate input from others to open yourself up to better ideas. You can always go back to the "old" way of doing things later if it doesn't work out, BUT you will never find a better way to do thongs without being open to the process. Until next week, good luck!

Not Successful Until You Create Success For Others
Everyone wants to be successful. Hustle, grind, late nights, early mornings. Work smart, work hard and stay focused. The definition is different for every person as well. Become a millionaire, corner office, Instagram famous, whatever you want it to be. But, along the way, someone opened a door for you, gave you a shot, supported what you were doing or just gave you some helpful advice and encouragement. DO THE SAME THING FOR OTHER PEOPLE! Do not achieve success and then change who you are. For true success, be a part of other peoples success. Create a cycle of opportunity. That's what "making it" is all about. See you next week for #SaturdayMorningHustle advice. Thanks for listening.

Advice To My Younger Self: Go All In!
During a media interview this week, I was asked what advice I would give my younger self if I had a time machine. The interview was about business and entrepreneurship, so my response was this: Go all in, don't play it safe or over-think. Be willing to stick your neck out and take risk. Don't make reckless or stupid decisions, but do push yourself and your business fast and hard. Commit! Put yourself out there for the business you want to create and avoid holding yourself back in order to avoid potential shortfalls. Nothing great ever happens in your comfort zone. Make a plan, do your homework and then GO FOR IT with everyhtign you have. If you can't do that, then maybe the entrepreneur life isn't for you.

The Golden Rule Is For Life And Business
Treating all people well creates positive situations for everyone. Slow down, talk to people and create relationships, not just transactions. #SaturdayMorningHustle advice for the Easter weekend. Has this happened to you? Positive or negative? In business, we always focus on customer service. But, what if we do less training on what to say and when to say it and put more emphasis on being open to the needs of the person walking in the door, calling on the phone, etc...? That would make for happier employees, customers, vendors, etc.... and that's good for business.

Audience Demand Builds Better Business Models, Not Your Ego.
Too many businesses make the mistake of building an operational model that makes providing a product or service as easy as possible for the provider and not the consumer. That's backward! To create a unique, successful business model that will compete, attract and retain a highly loyal audience (best case business scenario) you must construct your operations to the wants and needs of the audience. You can't force your way of doing business onto your audience. You can try, but most likely fail. Instead, pay maximum attention to your consumer and give them what they want, how they want it. With a consumer forward business model, you now need to find ways to improve or simplify the process to create profitability. With profit, every business will fail. This combo of audience need plus profitability has a real chance to succeed and adapt as needed when your audience or industry changes. That's disruption! It's what Uber did to taxis, Amazon did to big-box retail and AirBnB did to hotels.

Leadership Comes From Everyone We Meet (Good & Bad)
The best way to be a great boss, co-worker, collaborator, entrepreneur, business owner, volunteer, civic leader, etc.... is to learn the right and wrong way to lead, motivate and inspire from everyone you meet. #SaturdayMorningHustle #Advice This includes not only those people doing it all right but those bad bosses who made you want to quit, hide or just not care. Learn from their mistakes but doing the exact opposite. You're in control of how you treat people, so do your best and the best will happen. Now, get to work! #Hustle #Grind #WorkSmart and #WorkHard

Hustle, Grind, Value-Added Effort Above and Beyond
The #SaturdayMorningHustle is all about making things happen while everyone else is resting. It's not enough to work hard, but you really have to set yourself apart IF you are trying to build a successful business, career or side-hustle. There's no such thing as an overnight success and there is no one singular way to achieve your goals. But, you can't just tell people you have the drive. You must show them! You also need to prove you have what it takes to build something successful, not just get lucky once. Document your hustle, grind and work process. Show how you made it work and how you can do it again. For me, it's all about the process. I don't just do it and then hand over a finished work product to my clients. No, I involve them in the process to ensure everyone understands how the decisions were made. This creates a better long-term solution for everyone involved. Then, I take my skills and do it all over again.

You can’t lose motivation due to temporary circumstances. Don’t let a team beat your team twice by getting in your head, keeping you from working hard towards your next goal. You can’t let a single loss, setback or bad situation keep you from moving forward and preparing for the next opportunity. We all have more L’s than W’s so don’t take it too hard. Open Mind For Opportunity
Because I received so much positive feedback from the podcast last week, I wanted to continue the conversation today. I love the hustle and grind, I’m just built that way. But, not everything is a 1-to-1 give and take (or make) situation. In business, we miss these opportunities more than we take advantage. Sometimes you need to do things that are not for you, but others. At least 51% for others. Sometimes 100%. Why? It always opens opportunity in ways you can never plan. Meet new people, hear new ideas or be inspired by others you would have never otherwise met. We all need that. The ROI is always positive, but hard to quantify.

Success comes from positivity
True success comes from a positive attitude and willingness to give more than you take. We all hustle and grind every single day, even on the weekends, to make something for ourselves and our family. That’s what it takes to be an entrepreneur, own your own business or be the best employee where you work. BUT that does not mean every minute of every day is spend getting just ourselves ahead. Sometimes you need to do things that are not for you, but others. At least 51/49 for the. Sometimes 100% for others. Why? It always opens opportunity in ways you can never plan. Meet new people, hear be ideas or be inspired by others you would have never otherwise met. We all need that. The ROI is always positive. Trust me, this attitude has served me well. The more I give, the more I get. I’m having the best 1st quarter ever, and I hope you are too. Get busy, hustle, grind and do what it takes. That includes giving more than you expect in return. The Blank Page Theory
Today we discuss the process all Creative professionals go through. I call it the “Blank Page” Theory. You start with a blank sheet of paper. Write down where you are, point A. At the other end of the paper, write down where you need to be, point B. This can be used for creating art, design or solving a problem. Now, start adding to your point A. What do you have in place (assets), what are you trying to accomplish, why are you doing it, etc. Then, do the same for point B. What ya the finished product? A painting, a brochure, a website, a better mousetrap maybe? Now, without preconceived notions or “how we’ve always done it” excuses start connecting A to B. This is the what, how, when, etc. in problem solving. For art, it’s a sketch, then a base layer, then the details, etc. the process is still the same. Start with nothing. No BS or reasons why you can’t do it. Just work towards your goal. Good luck! See you next week.

Collaboration is key in 2018
It’s that time of year, to make New Years resolutions. If you are an entrepreneur, business owner, management, investor or self-brand you should be setting goals for your business pursuits. In addition to your goals, you need a theme for the year. A word or two that describes who you are, what you do and what you’re trying to achieve. For me, that theme is collaboration.
