Takin' Over For The '99 and the 2000
On today's jam packed episode of Say Less, the guys and gal had a plan on doing an entire rap fantasy draft (which happens later in the show), but it was all a little bit hijacked by Jake getting into a fight at the local liquor store. Even better, we've got the security cam footage of the entire ordeal, so check that out on YouTube.com/Kazeem. As far as the rap fantasy draft goes, Rosy, Lowkey, Kaz and Jake create their own fantasy rap labels with a fantasy budget and tiers of artists to pick from. With the allotted budget, the crew picks from legends, solo male stars, solo female stars, groups, and newcomers. Hop in the comments and tell us how great or terrible our music minds are as well as the thoughts on Sha'Carri Richardson's suspension, ther New Drake and Brent Faiyaz, Lil Duval's Ludacris and Da Baby comparisons, the GD anthem and much more.  03:00 - Switched Up Taping Days 05:45 - Jake Got Into a SITUATION 10:00 - Security Cam Footage 15:40 - NYC Is Getting Wild 17:30 - Sha'Charri Richardson Suspended For A Month 22:37 - New Drake and Brent Faiyaz 27:29 - Artists That Make You Wanna Pop Off 29:00 - Controversial Artists 32:00 - Ludacris And Da Baby 38:28 - Say Less Music Industry / Rules Of Game 1:23:20 - Blood Pressure Records Is Mainly Women 1:32:00 - Trades And Negotiations 1:41:00 - GD Anthem -- Follow Say Less:  Watch the full video of the podcast on YouTube.com/Kazeem. RowKey
On today's episode of "Say Less," Kaz, Lowkey and Rosy recount an eventful 48 hours before they recorded the podcast which included terrible Uber drivers, Lowkey's new hotspot in New York City aptly named "Lowkey's Corner" and Rosy and Kaz going head to head at Footlocker's Ken Griffey Jr. Legacy Game in Brooklyn. The gang also addresses rumors that Lowkey and Rosy are the new hot "It" couple in podcasting and how you can totally insult your friends even when you don't mean to. We unfortunately have to address the rosebuds once again sending hammer flicks to Rosy in her DMs as well as what new haircut confidence does to a black man. We discuss these incredible NBA playoffs and the likelihood a new megastar will be crowned, our favorite guilty pleasure records that we sing at the top of our lungs as well as Drake showing up at Sierra Canyon high school basketball games.  04:10 - Off That Abisola 10:45 - "LowKey's Corner" 30:20 - The New Podcast "It" Couple 34:10 - Rosebuds Shooting Hammer Pics 41:00 - As An Athlete Part 2  1:03:30 - Not Guilty Pleasures 1:12:00 - The Incredible NBA Playoffs 1:27:30 - New Haircut Confidence  1:3730 - Drake and Amari Bailey's Mom -- Follow Say Less:  Watch the full video of the podcast on YouTube.com/Kazeem. We break down their influence, their new album Culture 3, which one of us relate to which member of the group and much more. The group also speak about the do's and don't's of white people enjoying rap songs at concerts, and if you're going to expect any smoke if that N word flies during your favorite record. We dive deep into the NBA Playoffs including PJ Tucker and Kevin Durant getting into it, what Damian Lillard would look like if he were traded to the New York Knicks, the rise of Donovan Mitchell, why it's unfair to compare the NBA Bubble Playoffs to the 2021 NBA Playoffs and lastly, reclaiming words that sound dirty but totally aren't.  02:00 - CheersByAbisola.com 09:05 - Rosy's Clumsy AF 13:45 - Culture 3 27:10 - Best Ad-Libs In Hip-Hop 33:50 - White People And The N-Word 54:20 - PJ Tucker V.S Kevin Durant 1:04:00 - Dame To The Knicks? 1:15:00 - The Best Of Utah 1:21:30 - Evaluating Last Year's NBA Playoffs 1:35:12 - Reclaiming the word "Girth" -- Follow Say Less:  Watch the full video of the podcast on YouTube.com/Kazeem. Self Care (ft. Amir "Loon" Muhadith)
On today's episode of "Say Less," Kaz and Lowkey, the guys talk about the NBA going on strike in wake of Jacob Blake's shooting and the reaction it's garnered in Wisconsin and all over the country. The honest conversation about race and police brutality is joined by Amir "Loon" Muhadith. Loon is a former Bad Boy Records artist who was sentenced to 14 years imprisonment for conspiracy with intent to traffic one or more kilos of Heroin. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic effects in prison centers, Loon was granted early release on July 29, 2020 and has been using all of his efforts to fight for prison reform and the unjust systems that kept him incarcerated for the better part of the last decade. Loon speaks to us about his experience behind bars and how his Muslim faith led him away from music and more to his true calling of serving the people of his community. Loon also gives his thoughts on what actions need to be taken amongst Black people to make true change as well as why he believes the time for talking and not being sharp of mind and soul is over. On today's episode of "Say Less," Kaz and Lowkey get political and talk about what Kamala Harris as the potential Vice President of the United States means for black people and specifically the effect it will have on Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Kaz and Low also speak about Damian Lillard going absolutely nuclear in the bubble and why he's reminding people of Allen Iverson and Kobe Bryant, why Skip Bayless is lucky to have him, and why the Lakers should absolutely worry about seeing them in the first round of the playoffs. The two also discuss the moments their hoop dreams deflated when they respectively went against real hoopers in high school like Kevin Durant and Jay Williams. The two also discuss the option of conjugal visits inside the NBA Bubble as visitors will soon be allowed to enter after the first round of the NBA Playoffs, who makes the cut with "friends met on social media," the continued pearl clutching of Megan THEE Stallion and Cardi B's "WAP," and we take some listener questions sent to us via Instagram. On today's episode of "Say Less with Kaz and Lowkey," the guys deep dive into why Cardi B and Megan THEE Stallion's "WAP" shook up the world beyond music. The guys discuss what happens when politicians get up in arms about rap songs and if the video is all apart of OnlyFans' master plan for world domination. Kaz and Low also discuss the level of spiciness rising in the NBA Bubble especially between Paul George, Patrick Beverly and Damian Lillard. Draymond Green didn't last a week on NBA on TNT before he was fined for tampering, so we discuss why it is a good investment in the grand scheme of things, and if Dray kind of played himself if the Warriors eventually do trade for Devin Booker. Also discussed on this episode is if Luka Doncic is on a trajectory for "Greatest Of All Time" status and what happens if Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn't pull of an NBA championship despite potentially winning MVP and Defensive Player of the Year. The founding member of "The Hurt Business," MVP speaks about his road back to World Wrestling Entertainment, how instrumental Paul Heyman had been to his success, seeing more black men and women on pro wrestling television and being placed in positions to succeed, as well as why he doesn't want people to think of his new faction as another "Nation of Domination." MVP also gets personal about his past incarceration and changes he would like to see in a reformed justice system as well as reintroducing convicts into society after they've served their debt to society. 18 Years, 18 Years (ft. Corey Jacobs)
Corey Jacobs is living proof that systemic racism is real and our justice system is broken. Facing 16 life sentences as a first-time non violent drug offender, Jacobs stood solid in the prison system for 18 years without a possibility of freedom. In 2016, Jacobs was granted clemency from President Barack Obama and set free. Now a free man, senior advisor to the legendary Sean "Puffy" Combs, and co-founder of the Buried Alive Project, Jacobs is showing the world a different side of what life after facing life looks like. On this episode of "Say Less" with Kaz and Lowkey, Jacobs explains why the justice system in America doesn't necessarily help rehabilitate prisoners once they are set free and how the systems set in place by our government make it extremely easy to get sent right back into prison. Jacobs also speaks at length about his life-long friendship with Diddy and why he feels that he is Hip-Hop's Michael Jackson. Jacobs also details how the Buried Alive Project has helped free 53 people from incarceration, his friendship with Meek Mill and how both of their fights for restructuring the criminal justice system are similar yet different, who Puffy would bring smoke to in a Verzuz battle, and much more. The UFC's Star Problem (ft. DAZN's Andreas Hale)
"This past weekend, the UFC put on an incredible show as they returned to their home of Las Vegas for UFC 250. While headliner Amanda Nunes is starting to become embraced as the greatest fighter of all time regardless of gender, rising stars like Cody Garbrandt, Aljamain Sterling and Sean O' Malley put on impressive performances for the suddenly stacked Bantamweight division. Overshadowed by that, however, is the fact that Dana White has a huge star problem in his company. Jon Jones has threatened to relinquish his Light Heavyweight Championship and leave the company, Jorge Masvidal has had pay disputes with Dana White and Conor McGregor retired (for the third time).  On today's episode of "Say Less" I talk with the senior editor of Combat Sports for the Sporting News and DAZN, Andreas Hale, about the UFC's news-making weekend as well as the UFC's star problem. We speak about the company's inability to create mainstream stars, how the Reebok deal stifled the company's growth, and why Dana White has been hesitant to push stars of color. We also speak about what it's been like to try and cover sports while the world has finally put it's focus on the value of black lives and whether we have reasons to be hopeful.  Follow Say Less: The Best Of Say Less: youtu.be/46bti360Ob8 (Fridays on Whistle Sports/Brother HQ) @SayLessWithKaz, @WhistleSports, @BrotherHQ - Instagram @SayLessWithKaz, @WhistleSports, @BrotherHQ - Twitter Theme Song Produced by BlaaqGold Outro Produced by Krish Records Produced and Edited by Emilio Sparks"  Learn more about your ad choices. The murders of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery have served as a tipping point in this country's history and the fight to end systemic racism and the past ten days have served as a great start, but we are all in it for the long haul.  Watch "Say Less with Kaz" on the Whistle Sports and Brother HQ YouTube channels, as well as their social channels every Friday.     Follow Say Less: @SayLessWithKaz, @WhistleSports, @BrotherHQ - Instagram @SayLessWithKaz, @WhistleSports, @BrotherHQ - Twitter Theme Song Produced by BlaaqGold Outro Produced by Krish Records Produced and Edited by Emilio Sparks Learn more about your ad choices.
