Understanding the 40 Hour Workweek

Understanding the 40 Hour Workweek

Have you ever wished that someone would explain something to you using a bunch of numbers, acronyms, and arithmetic in a podcast! Well then, welcome to your dream come true. In this third episode of our series "The Contract Says What?" Meridyth and I will now attempt to explain how a 40-hour workweek is calculated for all full-time faculty from 4 lecture classes to non-instructional without student contact and everything in between. Enjoy!

Interview with ASCCC Vice-President Ginni May

Interview with ASCCC Vice-President Ginni May

This very special episode of Amplify Your Voice is our very first interview. YES! Like real podcasters. It was crazy exciting. Meridyth and I were able to sit down with ASCCC Vice-President Ginni May. So many thanks to Ginni for giving us time in her very busy schedule and for being so awesomely prepared for the interview. Our interview covers what skills are most applicable for statewide work, the relationship between ASCCC and the local senates, and how faculty can pivot on ASCCC resources to amplify their voices.

We hope for this to be the first in a series of podcasts that focus on making the many governance roles and entities on our campuses, in our district, and throughout the state more understandable and accessible.

This month's show includes updates on negotiations, the call to action, the upcoming board meeting, Oracle, and our latest board member to visit our e-board, Dr. Stephanie Houston.

Before we start our usual episode we want to mention our call to action at Crafton Hills College Parking Lot F on March 22 from 9 - 11 am. This is to give everyone on negotiations a visual of faculty support. We are encouraging everyone faculty, students, friends, family, and members of the community to wear red and come to parking lot F to show their support. If you can, please RSVP through our website SBCCDTA.org. This is just to give us an estimate of the amount of food to bring.
