Today we are joined by a very special guest, Dr. Kristin Neff, author of Fierce Self Compassion. She is a pioneer in the field of self compassion research. 87 | Moving From Passive to Active Participation in Your Transformation
In the Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles he states in the chapter on action that "failing to connect thought with personal action is the rock upon which many otherwise scientific metaphysical thinkers meet shipwreck."  He is making reference to the importance of being an active participant in your transformation. Listening to podcasts, reading books, and gathering knowledge is great but it's only part of the formula for success and change. The other part is applying what you listen to, read, and gather knowledge on by taking action on it.  In this episode we dive into the difference between passive and active participation. We then make the case that moving from passive to active participation is the key to real transformation.  We include some personal examples from our own personal development journey's and provide you with practical tools and a challenge at the end to help you become more active in your transformation process.  Enjoy!

The title of this episode is quote from Spiritual Teacher and Mental Scientist Genevieve Behrend.  Many of us believe that the process of visualization is something done with set aside time and focused intention. Although used this way with success, visualization is also a process we use on a day to day, moment to moment basis. We are constantly visualizing our futures to help us navigate present moment decisions. We worry, we fear, we have hope, we ask "what-if" etc etc.  In this episode we discuss practical tools to bring awareness to this fact. 78 | Develop Your Relationship With Yourself: Creating Happiness & Joy Within
In this next episode of the series, developing your relationship with yourself, we talk about happiness and joy. Most people talk about happiness but what does it truly mean? The definition of happiness is a state of being happy. You can only do this by being present. Happiness is internal, not external. It’s important to develop a sense of what happiness and joy means to you and this is something you find within yourself. It’s essential to really think and feel into how you are relating to the things you are doing. It’s not wrong for us to want more, this is a part of our spiritual nature but it does depend on how you feel when it comes to what you want more of and why you want more of it. Listen along as we give you some tips on defining your happiness so you can: Give yourself space - Take a walk, sit on a bench or find a place where you can sit with yourself and reflect on what makes you happy Unplug - As you reflect completely, unplug from your phone and anything else that is ultimately a distraction Connect with your innocence - Act like a kid again, have fun and laugh Be patient with yourself - Don’t put pressure on yourself, there is no right or wrong way to find what makes you happy Challenge yourself - What are your patterns or how you living your life, so you can create more happiness in your day Be present - Remember being present, which is all we really have, is how we truly connect with being happy Everything changes when you bring happiness and joy into your daily life. This is a part of being a spiritual being. The word enthusiasm means God within. It comes back to connecting with your higher self. It is a part of your spiritual nature to be happy and have joy. What would you love to do? If time, money, education and age didn’t matter, what would you love? This is the question Kevin and I had to ask ourselves for us to begin our journeys to be where we are today. In today’s episode we both share our stories on discovering what we love and what our leaps of faith looked like to get us here. You can do this through: Follow your curiosity - you don’t need to place pressure on yourself just start following what you’re curious about Be open - you need to be open when taking a leap of faith, there is no straight path to your dream Take a step - you don’t always need to take a leap of faith, you can take a step of faith Let fear go - the fear of making a change can cause us to look for reasons not to do something Get support - through a coach or mentor to help you actually live this Think about this, when you're at the end of your life, what direction will you have loved to have taken and decisions will you be proud of? Who are you really? Put simply, you are spirit, energy, consciousness that inhabits a human form. You are not your name, you are not your habits, you are not your patterns, you are not your behaviors, you are the energy that gives those things life and animates them in this human existence. What this means is that you are just a few behavior changes, a few habit changes, a few pattern changes away from being a completely different person.
