Maria and Peter sit down to speak about the importance of input, imitation, pronunciation, and making the most of what little you know without being too self-critical. As well as this, Maria gives her opinion on the significance of English in the scientific community, and its power to articulate complex concepts.

In this episode, Luis talks about the importance of language in scientific 'business', language etiquette, and what makes English different from other languages. As well as this, Luis shines a light on scientific communities beyond the Anglosphere.
Episode 19 w/Gabriela Toledo-Ortiz - The Significance of Language in Scientific Bridge-Building
In this episode, Gabriela and Peter talk about the power of language to build bridges within the scientific community. Specifically, languages which are not English. Gabriela also offers fascinating incites into her own cultural background, and how learning languages, especially Japanese, has changed the way she identifies with her native culture.
Episode 18 w/Siru Laine - Activating Languages
In this episode, Katerina talks to Siru Laine, a freelance translator, Finnish teacher and a polyglot with knowledge of more than 25 languages.
Does Esperanto connect people? Is it fair to assume that everyone in science knows fluent English? Can we forget our mother tongue? Episode 17 w/Ryan Seow - Efficiency in Languages
In this episode, Katerina talks to Ryan Seow, a chemistry student and a polyglot from Singapore.
Do we speak differently to how we were taught? What are the (dis)advantages of learning multiple languages at once? Is Chat GPT reliable? If you want to learn about the level of "politeness" people express in different languages, or the effectiveness of languages like Singaporean "SINGLISH", do not hesitate to listen to this episode.
Ryan also shares his insights on speaking multiple languages in a monolingual lab, the changes to our personality based on the language we speak, and warns us not to compare our progress when learning a language with other language learning.

With their join interest in philosophy, Benjamin and Peter discuss the relevance of language in contemporary continental philosophy, as well as its link to philosophical studies surrounding gender.
Episode 14 w/Thomas Bak - Languages as a Human Right
In this episode, Agnieszka talks to Dr. Thomas Bak, Reader in Psychology at the University of Edinburgh, clinical research fellow in the Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences and Programme Director of Bilingualism Matters. Thomas’s work focuses on cognitive effects of bilingualism and language learning.
Today, we discussed the meaning of the first language: is it the language we choose to use in a given context or the first language we have learned; which language is more of a language of love, English or Polish; and whether multilingualism is a rule or exception.

Episode 11 w/Katja Auffrett - The Styles of Communication
In this episode, Katerina talks to Katja Auffrett, a director of The Centre for Didactical Design, a German teacher at National Institute of Applied Sciences of Toulose and a former Erasmus+ project coordinator.
We spoke about different meaning of the same words in foreign languages, ways to express oneself in different languages or how to use local common expression to cut off inconvenient situations. We also talked about the balance between integration within a new culture and betraying own values after a certain time of living abroad and how challenging it might be not to "over adapt" and still stay true to yourself.

In this episode, Agnieszka talks to Christos Pliatsikas, an Associate Professor at the University of Reading, who is researching how our brains and cognition are affected by learning languages.
