At The Death!
The boys hit the USMNT and USWNT in the news segment, as well as highlight the fact that Nabi Kibunguchy's goal is up for USL Goal of the Week! Go vote now on USLchampionship.com. The boys review the dramatic 2-2 draw away to Orange County, and preview the importance of the next three games against the NYRB II, Tacoma Defiance, and Las Vegas Lights. Sac must get results in these games to stay in playoff contention.
3 Points Well Earned Against The Las Vegas Lights
Hopefully what happened in Vegas doesn't stay in Vegas for the Republic, because the Old Glory Red managed to snap a 9 game winless streak by defeating the Lights on 7/14 2-1. Zak and Nolan discuss the game and give their take on whether this could be a turning point in the season for Sacramento. At the top of the show, the guys talk about the USMNT Gold Cup group play, the UWNT Olympic group, CONCACAF juggernaut Martinique, and of course, Sacramento's signing of Jerome Kiesewetter from FC Tulsa.
A Club In Crisis?
At the top of the show, Scott gives his quick take on what needs to happen for Sac in the next three games. Then, Nolan and Zak review the 0-0 draw to Oakland, the 2-0 loss to OC, and then look at how it is that Sac has reached this new low, 9 points in 11 games and a 9 game winless run.
Drama in Added Time against The Loyal!
4 games, 2 goals, both coming from centerbacks. Not a great stat. Scott and Nolan break down the 1-1 draw against the San Diego Loyal. The boys discuss the midfield, and how they can drive forward to help the forwards get into the goals. Looking forward to July 7th and 10th's games against the Oakland Roots and OCSC, the boys discuss what they want to see tactically from the Republic to continue getting points from games.
Also in this pod, a review of the Copa America, European Championships, the MLS NEXT Tournament, and the USWMNT Olympic group!
SAC v. PHX Round 2: The Game That Had It All!
Worldie freekick goal from Asante, Sac red card, off-sides controversy, a 10-man comeback, and even a pitch invader! This game had it all. The boys discuss the game from Saturday night, and look forward to the July 3rd match-up against the in-form SD Loyal. Hottest Take from the Episode: Sac can't score, and can't afford to sign new forwards. BUT, the have 6 goals sitting on the bench! (Tucker Bone - 3, Jaime Villareal - 2, Jordan McCrary - 1). So, play all of them!
Hot Take: Start Pete Up Top!
Zak and Nolan break down Sacramento's 2-0 loss to the the Real Monarchs, and preview the upcoming away fixture to the Oakland Roots! Why can't Sac score? Is it a system problem or a problem with individual players? Should Pete Pennanen play the #9? Can Sac turn this poor run of form around on the 19th? The boys also discuss Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Dominican Republic's world cup qualifying campaign, the announcement of the USL Women's League, and take stock of other games that have gone down in the USL Championship's Pacific Division.
Review of the Roots & OCSC games, Preview of Real Monarchs. AND some USMNT buzzzzzz!!!!!!!
The boys break down the madness that was the 3-3 draw to the Oakland Roots and the 3-1 loss to OCSC. Zak gets on his soap box to talk about the USMNT's win over Mexico in the CONCACAF Nations League Final, and then Nolan rounds out the episode with a preview of the Real Monarchs.

Previewing Orange County SC, And Reviewing The 3-1 Win Over The Las Vegas Lights
Is Sacramento playing in a 3-4-3 instead of a 3-5-2? Who is Kwadwo Opoku? Why is Kharlton Belmar so important to Sacramento's attack? How is it possible for Frankie Lopez to sub on, score, and get sent off all in the span of thirty-three minutes? What can we expect out of Orange County SC on Saturday? Zak and Nolan tackle these questions as they break down Sacramento's 3-1 win over the Las Vegas Lights, and preview the upcoming game against Orange County SC.

Interview Alert! This week we have a very special interview with a journalist and faithful friend of the pod, Alicia Rodriguez. Alicia is a reporter and editor for SB Nation who, in addition to writing about the Sacramento Republic, also diligently covers the San Jose Earthquakes, the LA Galaxy, and LAFC. Many of our listeners will be familiar with Alicia’s work on SB Nation’s Sacramento dedicated site, Indomitable City Soccer. We also had Alicia on the show back in March to talk MLS as it pertains to Sacramento, so please do scroll back and give that a listen.
In this episode, we catch up with Alicia since we last talked, and then move into a quick recap of the MLS Cup final between the Seattle Sounders and the Columbus Crew. We spend a majority of our time asking Alicia about the state of each of the California MLS clubs, and then round out the interview with a discussion about the Sacramento Republic’s off-season activity. Alicia also shares a hilarious and endearing story about the Republic’s head coach Mark Briggs at the very end of the show. Thanks so much to Alicia for coming on and sharing her MLS expertise with us!
