The next time you pass by someone when you are out and about say Good Morning.
Today’s post is simple yet effective.
As most of you know, if you read My Biggest Life Hack for 2018 post, I go to the gym early at 5 AM.
While I am there I have a limited amount of time. I need to get in, get the workout done, and head home to get ready for work.
This means keeping chit-chat and sitting around at a minimum. Which doesn’t bother me. The gym is a place to get in and get your work done.
I am not trying to be an asshole to anyone. It is the fact that I am limited on time and feel it could hurt the workout.
Its detrimental to going to the gym if I spend most of the time talking and not working.
To mitigate myself looking like a total asshole, I decided to do this one simple thing.
I have been contemplating lately about my come back to the streaming world and how it helped me create more content.
If you didn’t know I did stream on Twitch back in 2015.
The problem was I didn’t treat it in a serious manner. I did not have a schedule and I didn’t stream with a consistently.
I discovered Professor Bromans Podcast in December 2017. It reignited that fire to start up my stream again.
Stream Issues? Go Live Anyways
Have you ever started your stream and things go wrong?
Your internet goes down or your stream doesn’t look as good as the day before?
Are you not feeling energetic and don’t want to entertain on certain days?
Things are not always going to go according to the way you planned them in your head.
You put so much time into the background work. Making sure everything is perfect for that moment when you hit the Go Live button.
And then, once you are live, the stars don’t align and everything doesn’t go well in your eyes.
Pyewacket is a Supernatural Thriller combined with internal family struggle.
Our main character, Leah, starts practicing with the occult after the death of her father.
Pyewacket is not only about the supernatural. It’s about the conflict between mother and daughter. Nicole Munoz plays Leah. An angsty teen that dabbles in the occult and doesn’t get along with her mother.
Leah’s mother played by Laurie Holden of Walking Dead Fame is fantastic.
Terrifier is a movie I waited for anxiously for a while now.
A few years ago, I watched a great anthology horror film called All Hallows Eve. It featured a terrifying clown named Art. All Hallows Eve was an entertaining anthology film. The highlights were definitely the sequences that had Art The Clown in them.
When I heard that Dread Central was releasing a whole movie dedicated to Art named Terrifier, I knew I had to see it.
A maniacal clown named Art terrorizes three young women on Halloween night and everyone else who stands in his way.
Terrifier is written and directed by Damien Leone. The movie stars Jenna Kanell, Catherine Corcoran, and Margaret Reed. David Howard Thornton was brought in to play Art The Clown in this version. Before, Mike Giannelli portrayed Art in the Terrifier shorts and in All Hallows Eve.
Southern Bastards Volume 2: Gridiron Review
(WARNING: Spoilers Contained within Review!)
Southern Bastards Volume 2: Gridironfollows the death of our hero Earl Tubbs from Volume 1.
In Southern Bastards Volume 1: Here Was A Man, we had Earl trying to right the wrongs of his hometown.
Unfortunately, Craw County did not help Earl in his endeavor.
By the end of Southern Bastards Volume 1, we see Earl confront the man that runs Craw County – Coach Euless Boss. They end up getting into a fight and we then witness the entire town watch as Coach Boss beats Earl Tubbs to death.
I love what Jason Aaron did in Southern Bastards Volume 2 because of the way he flipped the script. In Volume 1, you are rooting for Earl Tubbs to give Coach Boss the beating he deserves.
In Southern Bastards Volume 2, Aaron takes the entire book to show us Coach Boss’ troubled past. We get a glimpse into the tragedies that made Coach Boss who he is today.
We can see where Volume 2 was heading when the reference
I have been waiting to see the documentary Demon House since it was first announced. This past week, after years of waiting, it released.
Although Demon House was a very entertaining movie, I have some issues with it that I will discuss below.
I have been a huge fan of Zak Bagans and Ghost Adventures since the first documentary they released. The show is one of the most entertaining things on TV.
I haven’t got to watch Ghost Adventures as much as I would like, but my love for it remains.
If you are a fan of Ghost Adventures or the paranormal, make sure you see Demon House immediately. The documentary is without a doubt worth your time.
The interviews with people who have come in contact with Demon House are fascinating. Discussions over what these people went through are intense and terrifying.
Demon House is filmed in a way that keeps you wanting more. Zak did an excellent job putting the pieces together. The documentary delivers an entertaining yet grim experience.
I don’t wan
I heard about Southern Bastards for a while now but didn’t check it out until it went on sale on ComiXology.
Jason Aaron is one of my favorite comic book writers. Scalped is a classic within the medium.
Southern Bastards Volume 1: Here Was A Man is pure Southern grit. The story isn’t that South we know and love. It isn’t about sipping whiskey all summer long ala Kid Rock. Southern Bastards is the scary true grime of the South.
Aarons take on the South in this book is great because of the intensity and craziness that ensues. Southern Bastards scares you because of the raw realness and that it could happen to anyone.
The majority of horror I consume scares you with the paranormal or the occult. Southern Bastards scares you with real life.
The first volume tells the story of Earl Tubb. He returns to his birthplace of Craw County – home of The Running Rebs. Earl comes back to clean out his Uncles home. Little does he know the horrors of his past and present that he will have to confro
Gary Vee has a saying that I got to see firsthand the other night: Close Your EyesFor 5 Years.
Last Friday, I was streaming on my Twitch Channel. I had a viewer come into my chat that was a new streamer.
He started telling me about how he had started his own channel and that he wasn’t getting much traction on it. Friday was also his birthday…
I wished him a Happy Birthday and asked him if he minded telling me his age. He replied that he turned 24 years old that day.
I responded by telling him if it makes him feel any better, that I was 32.
I started to explain to him that any form of content creation is a long game. If you want to be big in something to have to have:
Some sort of talent
Execute with practicality
I explained to him to look at this in a different light. He could do this Twitch thing for 5 years and have 1 viewer that entire time. When he wakes up 5 years from now he will only be 29 years old.
Now, I explained the likeli
We all know we need to go to the gym regularly. This is a routine I have implemented in the New Year to which I am having great success.
A few weeks ago, I was doing my morning scroll through my Twitter Feed. Ed Latimore, a virtual mentor I follow, had a tweet that I responded to.
My response actually got a lot of traction. People were tweeting at me asking me questions about my Morning Gym routine I started in the New Year. I decided to elaborate on it here.
The gym is one of those topics that everyone always talks about. Everybody knows they need some form of exercise daily.
Although I am overweight, I have always made it mandatory to go to the gym. I strength train 3 times a week and do some walking on off days.
My eating habits still suck shit but at least I know I am moving forward with strength and cardio.
On top of all that I work 40+ hours a week.
I get up at 5:30 AM to get to work on time at 6:30 AM.
Sunday through Thursday I go to bed at 9 PM to make sure I am well re
My first year of creating, I have had some highs and some lows. When it comes to creating content – at the end of the day – it’s doing what you want to do. Producing the thing that you are passionate about sharing it with the world. The flipside of that coin is the monster that always rears its ugly head – The Resistance.
The Resistance is the monster that lives in every one of us regardless of what we do. Thoughts that creep into your mind and tell you-you are not good enough.
Eat that unhealthy food! Don’t go to the gym! Why are you creating content? No one cares about what you are saying!
During this first year of creating, I have been face to face with The Resistance many times. The little whispers I get in my ear to go home after work and do nothing. I would come home and give into it. Relaxing on the couch, doing nothing, while knowing that tomorrow I am going to feel like shit about it.
Beating The Resistance:
With 2018 here, I want to be able to pu
Sports Vs. eSports Discussion (The B+ Podcast: Episode 38)
Sports vs. eSports: (The B+ Podcast: Episode 38)
Last week, something near and dear to my heart started: The Overwatch League. Something of this size has never existed in the eSports community. Overwatch is a PvP Multiplayer game designed by Blizzard Entertainment.
I have been playing Overwatch since it launched almost 2 years ago. The game is fantastic and has me dedicating many hours to it.
Blizzard has launched an official league in the ESports community. Cities from all around the world have paid 20 Million dollars to get their city as an official team.
eSports has been around a long time but this is something special.
Not being an avid sports fan by any means. I am excited something like this launched. Now I have something in the sports (eSports) realm to enjoy.
On today’s episode, we discuss if eSports will ever exist as a real sport. Or will it traditional sports fans write it off as something for kids? Nev
The Holidays are upon us! We will all be going to and hosting parties over the next few weeks. I wanted to review a game that makes any party that much more fun: Cards Against Humanity.
I know the game has been around for awhile now, but the fact of the matter is it is still a great game.
When the holidays are around or we are throwing a get together, there can be some downtime. We want our parties to be a big hit and make sure everyone is having a good time. Sometimes, people can stay inside their heads the entire party – not being able to let go.
Cards Against Humanity remedies that. Get yours here.
When having people over, I do enjoy having some physical games to play. A few years I would have laughed at this, saying, “You won’t catch me ever playing a game at a party.” Especially ones that involve my participation to have the game move along.
We are at the end of 2017 and heading into 2018. I still believe after all these years Cards Against Humanity is one of the best games t
Today I am going to review the newest book from Lewis Howes: The Mask Of Masculinity.
On a morning before work, I was flipping through my Instagram stories. An ad popped up like they always do after some stories finished. The ad was by a guy named Lewis Howes. He was going to show you how to increase engagement on your own Instagram account.
Being that it was free, I signed up. The webinar that I watched was decent. It gave me insight on how to create a better Instagram account. The webinar also showed me some tips and tricks I didn’t even know existed.
Being a content creator means you are always looking for ways to maximize reach on Social Media. The fact that I do everything on my own, promotion-wise, Social Media is our best marketing tool.
Discovering Lewis Howes:
After the webinar finished, I realized I enjoyed this Lewis Howes guy. I decided to dig a little deeper to see what else he offered. Lewis Howes is a former pro athlete and has written two books. The one I am review
The Phone Carriers Podcast:
If you are anything like me than you despise Phone Carriers. They have us by the balls. Phone Carriers can do whatever they want.
If you saw our last Podcast than you know Net Neutrality is being taken away. Internet Service Providers and your Phone Carrier are going to have more power.
On Episode 36 of The B+ Podcast, we talk about our own personal experiences with our own Phone Carrier. We discuss who is best and Nasum pulls up some info from Toms Guide.
As you already know, I am super pissed about the FCC moving to get rid of Net Neutrality. I hope this podcast can shed some light on this for you. Phone Carriers are an evil that we have to deal with. We all want phones and we all want them to work on the network we choose.
I also throw in some bonus information at the end of the Podcast. It is a post that highlights some of the ways Phone Carriers tried to screw us over. The post was a retweet by Casey Neistat. It contains some of the messed up pra
In Episode 35 of The B+ Podcast, we discuss the absolute bullshit that is happening. The FCC is taking away Net Neutrality.
The face of the matter is this is going to happen. We can try our best to stop it but it looks like no one is listening.
Net Neutrality kept us safe from companies like Verizon, Comcast, etc. from going and charging us extra for things we use on their services.
For example, everyone uses Netflix. We also enjoy watching Netflix on 4K or in HDR. Obviously, this takes up more speeds and bandwidth on these companies services. Without Net Neutrality in place, these companies are going to be able to charge you more money if you want to watch Netflix in HD or 4K. The picture I have above in the thumbnail is a real ad before Net Neutrality existed.
Another example is Verizon and Yahoo are in business together. Without Net Neutrality in place, Verizon can force you to use Yahoo as your primary search engine. Only after paying more money will they allow access to Google
Rampage Trailer Discussion:
In Episode 34 of The B+ Podcast, we discuss the trailer for the upcoming movie adaptation of the video game Rampage.
Rampage is a video game from the 80’s that is dear to our hearts. The fact that you could become a giant monster and destroy entire cities was fun. We grew up watching monster movies such as King Kong and Godzilla. Rampage the game let us play our favorite monsters from those movies.
I know the backstory of these monsters is different than those of Kong or Godzilla. The fact that we could become those characters is what made the games so appealing. We could demolish buildings, chase after people, and fight one another if need be.
On April of 2018, Rampage will hit theaters near you. The trailer looks pretty decent but I don’t have high hopes for this one. The Rock is starring in it as well. While I enjoy The Rock, I don’t know how this awesome game is going to translate over to the big screen.
Video game movies are usually not that great.
Justice League Trailer Reaction:
On Episode 33 of The B+ Podcast, we watch the final Justice League Trailer live and discuss our thoughts.
If you have been keeping up with the podcast, you know we are not the biggest DC movie fans. The movies, at least in my eyes, don’t touch the content that Marvel is releasing. It seems to me like DC is still trying to find out what they actually want to be. The fact that they have different people playing the superheroes in movies compared to TV is stupid. Flash and Arrow are already big hits. Why would they not use those characters in their movies? The actors are crushing their roles and they seem to love what they are doing.
Anyways, on this episode you’ll hear us discuss:
The Amazonians and The Atlanteans teaming up to fight the Darkseid army (Parademons!)
Is the main villain the Uncle or Nephew of Darkseid?
The movie looks very pleasing visually…but does that make it a good movie?
Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) gets a lot more emphasis in this
Star Wars: The Last Jedi Discussion:
The new installment of the Star Wars franchise is only a month away. Nasum and I wanted to take it upon us to try and dissect the trailer that came out. We are super excited about this movie and there is a lot to talk about.
On Episode 32 of The B+ Podcast, we discuss:
Kylo Ren coming to the light side of the force
Rey becoming Snokes apprentice and turning to the dark side
Why is Luke being an asshole?
Finn going in a covert operation and battling Phasma
Admiral Ackbar has a whole race named Moncalamari?
What does the Grey Jedi mean for the franchise?
Will this be the first time we see a good guy turn bad and vice versa?
Like I said, there is a lot of information to talk about. The podcast was fun to do because of all these questions we have. I think I am going to need to watch The Force Awakens again...
I am excited to see this new take on the Star Wars franchise. The biggest plot point for me being Kylo and Rey switching sides (if this
Stranger Things Season 1:
On today’s episode of The B+ Podcast, we wanted to discuss the hit TV show Stranger Things.
I first got introduced to this by seeing the trailer on Twitter. The horror fan in me couldn’t wait to see what Netflix was going to do with their first horror show. On the day it came out, I was ready to see what this was all about.
Mind you, I am not a huge sci-fi fan. I didn’t know going into this that it was going to be part horror, part sci-fi, and part 80s nostalgia.
When I first sat down to watch it, I admit, I didn’t care for it at all.
With the hype for Season 2 coming this past October, I knew I wanted to give it another shot. Netflix allows you to download episodes of shows to your phone now. I was going on my honeymoon and had about 12 hours of flight time round trip. Plane rides can be a drag so I said I would watch Stranger Things.
The hook point came to at Episode 4 of the first season. I was addicted after that and ended up finishing Season 2 onc
