Here are my key takeaways from this discussion:

1. Time is precious – you can’t get time back so make your choices about how you use your time. Be intentional with what you are doing, where you are going, who you are keeping relationships with. Don’t get sucked into things you don’t wish to do. You are free to choose how you use the precious, limited and unpredictable time you have left on earth.

2. Maintain the relationship with your loved ones and if you are a parent, do it even moreso, so that you can role model that behavior to them.

3. Stop apologizing for yourself. Be as authentic as possible. Sometimes people spend too much time and energy to get other people to like them.

4. Things will go wrong – they always do thus, always be ready – so we don’t have to get ready when the need arises. If not, we will be in a consistent reactionary mode. We won’t learn, we won’t grow, and we won’t be able to use the changes as opportunities because we will be busy reacting to changes.

5. Don’t let people pull you into their noise. Understand what their end game is because you may have something better to give them for their purpose than what they are asking from you.

6. Have a plan. Plan to work and then work the plan.

I will bring you the 100th episode of Sharing Life Lessons in two weeks.  Until then, 'be happy, be safe and be blessed'.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE; especially those who are angry and frustrated with the almost daily mass killings.

I wanted to play my part to stop the mass shootings or rather any shooting at all. I decided to do what I do best. I decided to use my platform of Sharing Life Lessons to share knowledge of the Texas shooting and to call every to action so we can come together and end this madness!!

The word is belief. We can continue exchanging our good energy with others who will further exchange it with others and this good energy, this positive energy will reach the politicians in DC. This is the time for change individually and collectively, if we all want the same thing and we believe that things will change for the better. Then change will happen. Remember, we are one spirit. one soul, one world, we are all interconnected through our energy. Good has always triumphed over evil and it will happen again. Can we together help this process along? Can we together believe?

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE; especially those interested in learning about different energy healing modalities.

Our guest for today is Sophia Babai. Sophia is a certified somatic worker with degrees from Yale University and the Somatic School. She works with clients to tune into their bodies so they can feel more deeply, move more freely, and live more fully.

Instagram handle: sophia.babai

Websites: tinyurl.com/somatic-guidance

Facebook.com/sophia.babai

Here are my key takeaways from this discussion:

1. Somatic work is a healing experience, a way to develop a healthier relationship with your body and emotions, a way to come alive into your body to embrace the truth of who you are. Somatic technique is a holistic mind-body technique. The healer does not tell you what the answer is but acts as a guide to tune you in to what the answer is, which you discover for yourself.

2. Somatic healing is good for physical ailment, mental health issues like anxiety and trauma, but also for people who just feel dull, who are going through the motions of life and doing the things that they're supposed to do, but they're not experiencing the full depth and beauty of life

3. It is not that we don’t know how to feel our feelings, the issue is that we have created all these barriers and all this resistance to feeling our feelings.

4. Most physical experiences in the body comes back to your mental health. A lot of chronic issues, chronic pain, chronic illness, comes from when we store stress in the body and allow it to get stuck within, instead of allowing it to move through our body.

5. Don't chase what sounds perfect or prestigious or like what you're supposed to do. Follow what feels right in your body and trust that your body knows what it's doing. Do things that feel good to do.

6. And lastly, you don't need a diagnosis or a trauma or something to be wrong or broken or any excuse for you to take care of yourself. You want to take care of yourself because you want to live a life that feels good and feels aligned. And that's enough.

I will bring you the next episode of Sharing Life Lessons next weekend.  Until then, 'be happy, be safe and be blessed'.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE; especially those interested in learning about Energy, vibration and frequency.

Our guest for today is Salima Balouchi. Salima Balouchi holds a Doctor of Homeopathy, is a Reiki Master, and an Acupuncturist with a longstanding career in delivering energy therapies. Her choice of career was catalysed by a long research sabbatical during which she focused on the connection between Conscious and Subconscious/Unconscious Mind and its applications for Quantum Healing. Over the past 20 years, Salima has mentored and coached Celebrities and Executives, as well as delivered keynote speeches and workshops around various subjects such as Reiki, Wellness, Motivation, and Personal Development.

Here are my key takeaways from this discussion:

1. Meditation allows you to sit quietly and allows you to listen, to observe, to expand. And that is the time that you get the most breakthroughs, those epiphanies and those aha moments really come through when you allow yourself to sit back and listen and observe while meditating.

2. Energy and vibration can be measured. If we are among people of the same vibration and energy as ours, we will be among our own tribe. But that is not always a good thing because if our like-mindedness is narrow or negative, that's exactly what we are going to attract. People will attract only those people whose energy vibrates at the same level as their own, whether that's high or low.

3. Salima gave us descriptions for a scale of vibration levels from zero to 1000+. She also detailed for us the body sway test to measure our vibration level as well as to check if our chakras are open or close. Salima said we can also test other people’s vibration levels with the same method. This would guide us whether we want to form a relationship with the person or stay away.

4. If your result tells you that you are vibrating at a higher level, then you know that you are open to greater experiences, that you're in manifesting mode. You're deserving is higher. Your manifesting is higher. Your abilities are higher because your frequency is at a greater level. So, let’s keep track of where we are and let’s take full responsibility for our vibration, our frequency, our emotions, the tribe we attract, and our overall experiences.

Our guest for today is Amyn Dahya. Amyn is a thought leader whose unique life experiences embody a holistic combination of scientific excellence in the environmental field, fostered by a deep understanding of spirituality and its unifying, humanistic principles. After a life-threatening accident in the Himalayas, he went through an intensive transformation that opened his mind to deep and profound inspirations, which he has penned into seven books. These inspirations have also led him towards a realization of a range of simple, universal, meditative techniques that maximize the human power of thought for material and spiritual growth.  Dr. Dahya shares these inspired techniques through free online webinars and workshops, with the goal of helping build a global positive human consciousness.

How does a dot matrix printer work? https://youtu.be/IjFPopLKiAk

My key takeaways from this episode are:

1. Cyrus, the angel of knowledge and Luminous, the angel of light help Amyn in making simple the concept of thought vibration. They beautifully explained to us through the example of a dot matrix printer how higher vibrating thoughts produce absolute clarity and lower vibrating thoughts result in chaos in our lives. Thus, each one of us is defined by the quality of our thoughts.

2. We all need to produce thoughts of the highest vibration because they are germinating like seeds in the hearts and minds of people and are contributing to the mass consciousness of humanity. By collectively raising our vibration, we will raise the much-needed mass consciousness, which is why each one of us has a role to play in this.

3. Because we are surrounded by atrocities and negativity, we can either become the solution or become a bigger part of the problem. The choice is ours. If we chose to be the solution, then instead of getting angry and depressed about these events, our reaction as individuals should be one of going within, into the oneness, seeking healing, seeking help, sending them light, sending them positivity

4. We must not underestimate our role in creation to foster positive, powerful, and profound change that is desperately needed. So, let’s together be beacons that raise the vibration of the world.

I will bring you the next episode next weekend, until then Be Happy, Be Safe and Be Blessed.

My key takeaways from the discussion in this episode are as follows:

1. When you're living your life, you boil it down to two simple elements. One is moments and the other is thought.

2. Thought has life. The more we repeat this to ourselves, the more we will be in full awareness of the thoughts we are entertaining.

3. The mind has 3 levels: the lower or basic mind is there to help us sustain in this world. The next level are the higher-level thoughts that help us make bigger and broader decisions. The decisions themselves however, come from the highest and most enlightened level of our mind: the intellect. The intellect borders between the material mind and the spiritual being. This is your higher self, your soul, your creator – whatever name you want to give it.

4. Vibration is the level of intelligence embodied in any given thought. Thoughts from your lower-level mind are of the lowest vibration and thoughts that emerge from the intellect are of the highest vibration.

5. Each one of us is an extremely empowered being because we have our roots in that infinite intelligence, which is our creator. None of us is more powerful than the other, but we are all enablers for each other.

6. And finally, let's begin to believe in the power of our thoughts because thought has life!

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE; especially those who are leaders in organizations

Our guest for today is Rob Volpe. Rob is an astute observer of life and a master storyteller who brings empathy and compassion to the human experience. As CEO of Ignite 360, he leads a team of insights, strategy, and creative professionals serving the world’s leading brands across a range of industries. He is the author of Tell Me More About That: Solving the Empathy Crisis One Conversation at a Time. As a thought leader in the role of empathy in marketing and the workplace, he is a contributor to Entrepreneur’s Leadership Network and frequently speaks on the topic at conferences, corporations, colleges, podcasts and with the media.  He is a graduate of Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and lives in San Francisco with his husband and 3 cats.

www.ignite-360.com

Please check out my first book, Tell Me More About That: Solving the Empathy Crisis One Conversation at a Time now available!

Here is a summary of my conversation with Rob regarding Empathy in our personal and professional lives:

1. There is an empathy crisis going on. Empathy is an E word that people are afraid of.

2. There are 2 kinds of empathy – emotional empathy and cognitive empathy, and the latter is about being able to see the perspective of others without any personal judgment.

3. Many leaders fear that if they are empathetic then people will walk over them and what Rob wants to point out is that we can support our team/ direct reports/ co-workers empathetically and still play within the rules of the organization.

4. How do we include empathy in any organization? Leaders must model and practice the behavior. We are all leaders in some form, whether we're leading a project, or leading a team, or leading a function in our company, we're all leaders at some point.

5. Lastly, like taste and smell and sight, empathy is a sense. It's a sense we're born with. We must exercise or practice it for it to become strong. When we can build our empathy muscle back up, we can instinctually and intuitively start to understand how to approach somebody empathetically.

Our guest for today is Salima Balouchi. Salima Balouchi holds a Doctor of Homeopathy, is a Reiki Master, and an Acupuncturist with a longstanding career in delivering energy therapies. Here is a summary of my conversation with Salima regarding the components of the Law of Attraction:

1. Most of us have trouble with boundaries, most of us don't know how to set boundaries or say no. But if we want to keep our vibration high, we will have to say, oh no, I'm not compromising my vibration, which enables us to automatically set our boundaries.  Those people that are willing to be with us on our journey will automatically raise their vibration to match ours.

2. We must understand that there is nothing in the world that says you get to be rich. You get to be poor. You get to be happy. You get to be sad. You get to manifest, you get stuck. If we just grab what we are deserving of, what we are entitled to, it's so much easier than waiting around for something to drop in your lap.

3. This is not an all-exhaustive list but some tools to elevate our vibration that Salima mentioned are meditation, being in nature, finding something that grounds us, and having a good support system.

4. It's dumbfounding how we have so much more power and grip over our lives than we really think and if people understand this basic, simple, and deep concept, their whole lives can change instantaneously. We have much more power than we realize

5. Our third eye is our intuition, it is our psychic awareness, it is our gut. It can be developed. This gift can be yours, all you have to do is be open to receiving it, to enhancing it, to evolving it, so you can be the one that starts that generational gift of passing it down.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE; especially those interested in learning about the Law of Attraction

Here is a summary of my conversation with Victoria regarding the components of the Law of Attraction:

1. There's more to this entire universe than just what we are grasping on a conscious level. Everything around us and about us is energy.

2. We are limitless beings. And if we realize the power that we hold to make things happen, we'd be dumbfounded at how instantaneous manifesting can be, how instantaneously you can shift your emotion or shift your vibration.

3. Our subconscious mind holds 90% of the power and our conscious mind holds 10%. Can you imagine how powerful we can be as beings, if we tap into that 90% versus the 10%, and that can only happen when we start to raise our vibration.

4. As you raise your vibration, you raise your experiences, the higher the vibration, the greater the experiences. If you have higher standards, if you want to demand nothing but the best for yourself, if you want to lift your life, if you want a better career, if you want stronger relationships, if you want to earn more money, you need to keep raising that vibration. The only problem with vibration and frequency is that the higher you get, you will not resonate with lower vibration or lower frequency.

5. As you raise your vibration, you automatically filter out people that are of a different vibration, of a lower vibration. And you start to attract your tribe that are of a similar vibration as yours, which is why Salima says your vibe attracts your tribe.

I will bring you the 2nd part of this episode next weekend.  Until then, 'be happy, be safe and be blessed'.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE; especially those interested in learning about the Law of Attraction

Our guest for today is Victoria Shaw. Victoria is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Spiritual Coach who combines her background and training in psychology and counseling with her intuitive gifts to help clients heal, grow and realize their spiritual and full personal potential.  She takes a holistic approach to counseling, addressing clients’ concerns on the mind/body/spiritual levels. She especially loves working with people who are committed to using their struggles and life experiences to fuel their own spiritual awakening.  Victoria is the author of four self-help books for parents, children and teens, the host of Intuitive Connection podcast, and the mother of two spirited (now adult) children.

Here is a summary of my conversation with Victoria regarding the components of the Law of Attraction:

1. the basic idea of the law of attraction is that we are energy beings and everything's energy. And so we attract into our experience, to our space that which matches the vibration that we're sending out.

Everything has a vibration. Thoughts have an energy, feelings have an energy, emotions have an energy, how you respond to things, have an energy and you kind of tie it all up together. And that's the aggregate vibe you're putting out.

2. Intuition doesn't come from our brains but comes from our deeper inner selves. It is our connection to our soul, to our higher selves, to our spirit, to source to God, however you want to look at it. We all have it. And when we start to align with that higher wisdom, that's when we start to live the life that our soul and our spirit has planned for us. Remember Nelson Mandela’s quote in the introduction of this episode? We were born to make manifest the glory of God/Universe/Higher Self that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same.

3. Law of attraction is the basis of how the world works and how the universe works. Thus, it's how life works. But it is not as the desire to control life because that will not get you very far and get you very much joy, but rather as a way to harmonize and flow with life, and flow with life more consciously.

I will bring you the first episode of season #10 of Sharing Life Lessons on Wednesday March 9th.  Until then, 'be happy, be safe and be blessed'.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE

For this episode, I am bringing you a virtual guest - Eddie Jaku. He is a holocaust survivor and in a short clip of 1 minute 6 seconds, he has taught us so much.

Spotify:     https://open.spotify.com/show/1EZMzRw1cWMyvSiyeeyTRdD

These are the Key Takeaways from this episode:

1. Hate is a disease – it destroys both your enemy, and it destroys you too. This is a message from someone who experienced the atrocities of the holocaust. If anyone has the right to hate, it is him, but he is the one telling us not to hate. I don’t think he leaves us with a choice, we may as well just listen to him and wish away all feelings of hate in us.

2. Friendships are one of the ingredients for the secret sauce to a happy life, but you cannot buy friendship. So, let’s surround ourselves and keep our friendships. They are priceless.

3. What you give, you get back. You give nothing you get nothing back. Some of us have enough to give and many of us have the need to get. The reason why this lesson is more meaningful to me personally is that for 86 episodes of Sharing Life Lessons we shared knowledge, we gave, and we received words of wisdom from so many guests – but now it is time to walk our talk.

4. Finally, I quote Ed, he said, if you don’t learn from us – you will not have a future. What he really means is we must share knowledge and learn from each other. Especially learn from those who have had experiences, which is exactly what we are doing through Sharing Life Lessons. Living through and surviving the holocaust is an experience very few of us can claim we got close to.

We are one spirit, one soul, one world. It is time to walk our talk!

I will bring you the 90th and last episode of season 9 of Sharing Life Lessons next Wednesday.  Until then, 'be happy, be safe and be blessed'.

Our guest for today is Mahesh Pamnani.  Mahesh is a motivational speaker/trainer and Chief Happiness Officer at Inspire2Aspire Consulting, Hong Kong with over 31 years business experience. His mission in life is to spread health and happiness in the world. He uses a holistic (whole person well-being) approach to empower people to achieve their personal and professional wellness goals and be Healthy, Happy, Vibrant, Positive, Energized & Engaged.

He has trained leaders and staff at Asia's leading companies in the following industries: banks, finance & insurance companies, TV stations, government departments, hospitals, property, hotels, education, training & development, and delivers key note addresses at conferences.

Links for Mahesh:

Yotube : https://www.youtube.com/user/laughyogahk

These are my Key Takeaways from my dialogue with Mahesh:

1. Life is about something other than just making money.

2. Do not disrespect your body. If we learn that lesson now when we are healthy then maybe we won’t have to learn it the hard way or when it is too late. This may sound too dramatic but I have seen many who are left with the regret that they wished that they had not neglected their body and health.

3. One fun fact that Mahesh mentioned is that if you can increase your vocabulary by 1000 words, then your salary will double. Mahesh said it was proven but I have not verified it – let’s be adventurous and test it out for ourselves. If we can double our salary by increasing our vocabulary then it is a small price to pay – let’s just do it and check it out for ourselves.

4. There are highs of life and then there are lows of life. Lows of life are not bad, but instead they are good. Have positive emotions but don’t be afraid of the negative emotions. You can cry it out. Both laughing and crying are therapeutic emotions.

I will bring you the next episode of Sharing Life Lessons next Wednesday.  Until then, 'be happy, be safe and be blessed'.

This is an important episode towards social impact. Together we can uplift a whole generation of young girls in Africa!

TO DONATE TO THE REUSABLE MENSTRUAL PAD TRAINIGN PROGRAM IN AFRICA, PLEASE CLICK: https://tinyurl.com/DonateYIET

Remember It is every person’s obligation to put back into the world at least the equivalent of what he or she takes out of it.” ~ Albert Einstein

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE

Our guest for today is Charlyn Kirabo, a very lovely 22-year-old young lady from Uganda Africa. She is the founder of Kirabo Women Initiative, pursuing her bachelors in business and finance, and currently running the "She Needs A Pad Project (SNAP) which is aiming at training girls across the country on how to make reusable menstrual pads and also distribute reusable pads in schools and communities. I urge you to listen to her to the end – the issue we are talking about for the young girls of Africa is real and with a negative impact on a whole generation.

TO DONATE PLEASE CLICK: https://tinyurl.com/DonateYIET

These are Key reasons why you should donate and what impact your donations will have:

1. 1. Your donations will enable reusable menstrual pad training to all age groups starting from girls of 10 years old. In essence, we are teaching them to fish so they are never in menstrual poverty ever again. This is the only permanent solution to this problem.

2. Your donations will help end the awful phenomenon in certain parts of Uganda of Sex for Pads. As Charlyn said – girls are so embarrassed in school when they are menstruating and their clothes stain, that they rather give their bodies to older men who take advantage of this fact and give them a few thousand shillings in exchange for sex. The girls in turn use the money they get to buy menstrual pads. It breaks my heart to know that this is happening to so many young girls, our goal should be to get to a point that not a single girl feels the need to get money for pads in this manner. If this stops, so will HIV infections and early pregnancies. So let’s put reusable menstrual pad in every young girl’s hand.

3. Your donations will return self-esteem and self-development to the girls we train, because they will not skip school for a week per month nor will they drop out from school. Realistically you are not only helping these girls but also their generations to come.

Please join me in our first step together towards universal transformation. We are all connected. Let’s use this connectivity and uplift those who need it the most. Let’s build our world the way we want to from the ground up.

Our guest for today is Kyndra Crumb.  Hailing from ATL, Kyndra is an up and coming comedian who is a recent graduate. She obtained her Bachelors in mass communications with a concentration in radio/tv/film. Someday she plans on having her own radio/tv show.

Book name: Diamond in the rough

Where to buy: https://www.lulu.com/shop/kendra-crump/diamond-in-the-rough/ebook/product-mrvqr8.html?page=1&pageSize=4

These are my Key Takeaways from my dialogue with Kyndra:

1. If you don’t know what to say then don’t say anything at all. Always remember, your words carry weight and bearing in the life of others. Choose them wisely.

2. You cannot smoke or drink or shop or eat your problems away.

3. Don’t compare yourself to anyone. No two people are alike. Remember the saying, If you ask a fish to climb a tree, it can put in the effort with grit and will power. But ultimately the monkey is going to fly right by it to the top of the tree and leave the fish feeling like a failure. Why would you compare a fish with a monkey? Similarly if you are a parent, understand that your child is unique and you will only limit him or her if you compare them to other children.

4. It is ok to cry, it is ok to show your emotions. Don’t keep your feelings bottled up. There is always someone who will listen to your story. And here is my offer – if you don’t find anyone to listen to your story then please connect with me at sharinglifelessons101@gmail.com and I will be honored to listen to it.

5. Never make a decision when you are desperate because in most likelihood, it will be a bad decision.

Our guest for today is Doug Stevenson, CSP.  Doug is the CEO of Story Theater International. He is the creator of The Story Theater Method and a master storyteller and storytelling in business speaker, trainer, and coach. Doug has taught storytelling for business success to clients as diverse as Coca-Cola, Verizon, Deloitte, Caterpillar, Microsoft, Abbott Labs, US Bank, and USAA Insurance.

LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dougstevenson1/

YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/storytheater?feature=results_main

These are my Key Takeaways from my dialogue with Doug:

1. Sometimes your life’s path reveals itself to you

2. You don’t find your real path without going off on the wrong path. It just seems to be part of the process that we must stumble and slip into our genius.

3. When you pick a date and you commit to a course of action to change the direction of your life, things start to fall into place. People show up, Doug calls them allies and angels and I call them earth angels as you may have heard me tell my earth angel story in episode #21. They show up, people start to support you in your vision and your dream. Don't keep putting it off because you have a perfect plan, or you are waiting for the perfect circumstance. Pick a date and make it happen.

4. Doug’s final message is: Your story can change other people's life. It does not have to be profound or dramatic. Each one of us has a life story and the lessons we learned from it, which we ought to pass along to other people. Doug says, find your stories, harvest the stories from your life and ask yourself, what have I learned? What can I pass along to someone? And then when there's that right moment in time, tell your story, share your story, share your life lessons. 😊

These are my Key Takeaways from my dialogue with Kim:

1. When people want to get started with intuition work, the idea is to start small. Sit with yourself and ask yourself, what is something that is really important to me that I want to do, and then write it down and create a small written goal for yourself. And then show up for yourself and build that trust with yourself. Building that self-trust is really the first step.

2. Intuition can speak to us in many ways and not just through words necessarily. It could be through body sensations, in our writing, while meditating, or through signs in nature. Intuition magic is all around us all the time, but sometimes we just don't notice.

3. Once you have made the connection with your intuition, remember to ask it questions for anything you are searching an answer for. Also know that our intuition is patient and will not judge so go ahead and really have fun with it! I know I do 😊

These are my Key Takeaways from my dialogue with Stephanie:

1. The power of listening to messages is that if you listen to one, another will come by and then when you pay attention to that message, another one shows up and soon enough they are everywhere. Many of us have experienced it. If not, then all you must do is be open and they will show up

2. Whenever you feel you need a pattern interrupt or a shift in an unwanted energy, ask yourself ‘what is right, right now’? or for that matter, if you see anyone in the family or among friends, who needs an energy shift, ask them this same question. Before they go too deep in the negative territory, stop them and ask ‘What is right, right now for you’?

3. We can harness the power of our subconscious minds. Stephanie has showed us how.

I will bring you the next episode of Sharing Life Lessons next Wednesday.  Until then, 'be happy, be safe and be blessed'.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE

Our guest for today is Lousin Mehrabi.  Selected as one of the Most Influential Negotiation Professionals Globally, Lousin Mehrabi is a Professional Negotiator, Trainer and Inspirational Speaker. Lousin believes the world becomes a better place through the art and science of negotiation. She teaches people to become better negotiators to reach meaningful agreements with others, with themselves and with life.

Lousin's linkedin: www.linkedin.com/in/lousin-mehrabi

Lousin's Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSInTBUpaYLl3MKnQ1jFJZw

These are my Key Takeaways from my dialogue with Lousin:

1. Acceptance is key. Accepting what is, accepting what is not in your control. Accepting things that you can’t change so that you can put all your time, energy, money, focus, passion into what you can control and what we can control is a lot.

2. Be aware of your feelings and allow your feelings to be. If you are sad, then go ahead be sad. If you want to grieve, then go ahead and grieve. You want to cry, then cry. You want to rejoice then do that. We must stop pretending that emotions are bad. Emotions are our friends. They are there to protect us. They are there to guide us. Emotions are our allies.

3. Make decisions that seem the best for you, even if others don’t agree.

4. Forgive yourself for whatever it is you are blaming yourself for, because whatever you are blaming yourself for is already in the past.

5. The problem is not that we have problems in life. The problem is that we think we shouldn't have problems in life. Once we know that we're going to have adversities, you just go through it. It's not the end, it's the end of a chapter. And when you are courageous enough to turn the chapter, you'll see that there is another chapter and that the pen is in your hands. So go ahead and write the book of your life as you want it to be.

I will bring you the first episode of Season 9 of Sharing Life Lessons on Wednesday, December 15th.  Until then, 'be happy, be safe and be blessed'.

Our guest for today is David Justice.  David Justice is an aspiring businessman looking to help others become successful entrepreneurs. He currently is a licensed Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway Fox & Roach and strives to help first-time home buyers, investors, and others fulfill their real estate goals.  David has a background in the army, auto sales, and other various industries. David and his wife are also the owners of Urban Grown LLC, a company that produces organic micro-greens for restaurants in the Philadelphia and New Jersey areas. David hopes to inspire future entrepreneurs and educate others on all the available pathways to creating an enjoyable life.

Website (The Young Merchant Blog): https://www.theyoungmerchant.com

These are my Key Takeaways from my dialogue with David today:

1.1. When an opportunity shows up at your door, then make quicker decisions and act fast before it passes you by.

2. To do that, let your history tell you more about yourself- your likes, your interests, and your passions. And to better deal with the future, put yourself in uncertain situations on purpose. You will learn how your mind and body react to new things. A good understanding of yourself, will help you make quicker decisions easily.

3. If there is an important decision that needs to be taken, then run the what if scenario. What is the worst that could happen, and are you willing to take that risk? Or what is the best that could happen and is that worth your money, time, and energy? Personally, I have not looked at it this way before. For me, if there is a positive outcome, then I decide to go for it, but whether it is worth my time has never been a criteria for me and I agree that it should be.

4. Remember that if you fail, then you can only learn from it. As Robert Kennedy said ‘Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly’

5. Surround yourself with people who do what you want to do so you can learn from their mistakes, and they can help you get to your goals either by getting you in touch with the right people or maybe even being a resource to pick their brains when you need it.

Our guest for today is Shereen Kassam.  Shereen is an internationally touring stand-up comedian who has performed worldwide on stages from New York to Saigon.  Named Florida’s Funniest Female, has also appeared on HBO and NBC. She has had the opportunity to work with Arsenio Hall, Carlos Mencia, Gina Brillon, Rodney Perry, and Myq Kaplan.

Shereen is also the host of the top-rated Apple podcast – Creative Breakthrough – a podcast that spotlights successful creatives and artist.

Her website: www.funnybrowngirl.com

These are my Key Takeaways from my dialogue with Shereen today:

1. If you know something will make you happy then definitely step out of your comfort zone if that is what is needed to achieve your happiness.

2. Try new things because you never know who you are going to meet, what you are going to see, what you are going to learn, and how it is going to shape you and your future.

3. We are usually our biggest hurdle. It is our fears and insecurities that stop us from living our best life. Let’s ask ourselves, if we all had a fresh start, and nobody placed any boundaries on us but instead told us that we could do anything. What is it that we would want to do? Once you determine that, then just go after it.

4. You never want to say no to things and close doors to opportunities. The power of yes is super important. Always consider saying yes to trying out new things if given a choice.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE; especially parents who want to learn about parenting confident children.

Our guest for today is Katrina Wurm.  Katrina is the passion behind Stress Free Super Mum. She works with mothers to help them bring organisation and structure into their homes so that they have time for true self care. You can learn more about what she does at www.stressfreesupermum.com

These are my Key Takeaways from my dialogue with Katrina today:

1. Are we being concierge parents to our children? Such as they ask and we get it done for them? Why can’t our children cook one time a week? Why can’t our children do their own laundry and folding? Or help clean the bathroom?

2. In the first few days at an internship or at a job, if your child is given a task to do, he/she should be confident about knowing to break it down into steps and completing it because you have taught them at home to break a bigger task like following a recipe to cook a dish into smaller steps to complete that task. What we have done as parents by training them in such a manner is to take away the feeling of overwhelm when they are exposed to complex tasks in college or at work.

3. Finally, we have so much pressure on us to parent children in today's world. Think about when is the last time you stopped and did something that brings you joy or fills your heart up? If we're living what we love or we find time in our week to do something that lights us up, you know who's watching? You are role modeling for your children, you're showing your sons and daughters that even in their busy lives, they are allowed to have joy in their lives.

Besides working in the corporate world, Bill facilitated personal growth programs at one of Australia’s best-known health resorts on the Gold Coast, Queensland

Contact Bill

bill@bulletprooffromcriticism.com.au

www.bulletprooffromcriticism.com.au

These are my Key Takeaways from my dialogue with Bill today:

1. We should know how to clearly differentiate between someone else’s opinion and facts. Also learn to separate the person from the behavior. If we want to critique, we should be critiquing the behavior, not the person.

2. A comment can last for decades. Especially if that comment is made to our younger generation, then they don’t know how to discern between opinion and fact and it could take them a long time to challenge the validity of their statement, so we should mind our spoken words, when speaking to adults, children or for that matter ourselves. The power of our language literally can shape lives.

3. Whatever we focus on, we get more of – good or bad – this is the classic universal law of attraction.

4. Ask yourselves 2 questions before you go to bed. What did I like about what I did today? This way you are focusing on the behavior that you want to do more of. Second question is if I also do today again, what would I change or do differently? This enables us to focus on what we like, and allows us to attract more of what we like.

We don't have a guest today. This is a unique episode in which your host Hamidah brings you a story that has stayed with her for over 15 years. This story was from her daughter's 2nd grade teacher.

Hamidah goes on to 'sharing life lessons' she learned from Caroline Myss and Wayne Dyer (RIP), both spiritual authors and motivational speakers.

Anatomy of the spirit AND Sacred Contracts by Caroline Myss

Power of intention AND change your thoughts, change your life by Wayne Dyer

I shared life lessons I learned and adopted in my life. I am sure you will find at least one that will speak to you.  There is definitely something in this episode for everyone.

One important life lesson is recommended by Wayne Dyer. He said in life you will see everything you believe. So stop having limiting beliefs because you are a spiritual, limitless and eternal being.

Another profound life lesson from Caroline Myss' readings is 'If prayer is you talking to God then intuition is God talking to you. Listen to your intuitive voice no matter what anyone says, it will guide you. That is your guiding voice'.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE; especially if you have always said to yourself 'I need to declutter'!

Our guest for today is Lisa Zawrotny.  Lisa is the founder of Positively Productive Systems and the host of the Positively Living Podcast. After experiencing a deeply overwhelming time in her life juggling multiple roles as a caregiver, wife, mother, and business owner, she is now a Productivity + Organizing Coach certified in time and stress management helping multi-passionate creatives boost productivity, balance business and family, and avoid burnout, simply and sustainably.

When she’s not sharing about the wonders of simplicity, self-care, and systems, she’s playing music, drinking iced coffee, and watching movies with her husband and kiddos, or reading while trapped under a cat.

Links to connect with Lisa:

https://positivelyproductive.com/

https://instagram.com/positively_lisa

https://facebook.com/positivelyproductive

These are my Key Takeaways from my dialogue with Lisa today:

1. It is critical that we remember this life lesson from Lisa till we need it, maybe, in several decades. This is the premise of Sharing Life Lessons that we learn from each other’s experiences without having to go through every experience ourselves, especially the bitter ones. Lisa is convinced that she will let her children do what is best for everyone in any given situation and not make them promise that they will not put her in a nursing home. Each one of us is aging. I pray that none of us need to depend on our children physically or financially. But if we ever must then I pray that we are able to give them the freedom to choose the caregiving option that works best for them.

2. We don’t have to fill every moment. We don’t have to always be ‘doing’. Let’s create space and time for us to just ‘be’.

3. We want to try to do less, live more, live better, breathe easier, reduce our stress, and take care of ourselves. Self-care is not optional! There are no bonus points in life for increasing the level of difficulty for ourselves or for not tending to our own needs.

4. Lisa mentioned this insightful quote by Sophia Bush: You are allowed to be a work in progress and a masterpiece simultaneously.

I will bring you the next episode of Sharing Life Lessons next Wednesday.  Until then, 'be happy, be safe and be blessed'.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE; especially if you have a DREAM and you love music!

Our guest for today is Robert Miller.  Robert is a musician who followed his youthful dream later in life and became a Rock Star when he was in his 60s, an age when most people are planning their retirement.  In just 5+ years Robert and his band, Project Grand Slam, have released 10 celebrated albums including a Billboard #1, have had over 4 million video views, over 1 million Spotify streams, and more than 50,000 Facebook fans. He’s played festivals and concerts around the world and opened for Edgar Winter, Blues Traveler, Boney James and Mindi Abair, and an after-show for YES.

In March 2021 Robert started the Follow Your Dream Podcast to inspire and motivate others to pursue and succeed at their dream – whatever it may be.

My band, Project Grand Slam:

www.projectgrandslam.com

These are my Key Takeaways from my dialogue with our guest for today:

1. You are never too old, and it is never too late to follow your dream!

2. If you have a dream, then take baby steps towards it so that it is not too daunting and it becomes doable.

3. Life is not a straight line and there is no straight line to success. It is going to be a wiggle and you must be willing to deal with that and make adjustments to your plan along the way.

4. Robert took us through his interesting dream theory. He explains clearly what each step towards achieving your dream entails.

5. it's not success or failure that is the key. It's the act of trying. That's what will give you the inner happiness, the satisfaction. Success is just the icing on the cake.

6. Lastly, Covid has taught us that we can’t assume that we have forever so if things were to end sooner then let’s ask ourselves have we  accomplished, and involved ourselves in things we wanted and have we created joy, happiness, and family relationships that we wanted to create?

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE; literally everyone - parents should have their kids listen to this episode too!

Our guest for today is Simran Chawla.  Simran is visually impaired.  Despite that, she is a model, beauty pageant winner, motivational speaker, video blogger, voice over artist, psychology student, actress, radio jockey, anchor, brand ambassador, writer, and marketing professional.

Sharing Life Lesson's YouTube channel: https://youtube.com/channel/UCj9tq1TlyMj79sSxITvzdMw

These are my Key Takeaways from my dialogue with our guest for today:

1. We should not be guilty or blame anyone. If something has happened, it is because it was meant to happen or if something challenging has happened , then it needed to occur in order for something good to come out of it. This life lesson is particularly special because listeners, think of who is sharing this with us. A pretty person who is visually impaired. Who once could see and knew what the seeing world looks like. She is saying everything that happened to her happened for the good. That is such an amazingly positive perspective of life.

2. If we have that will, the determination, if we have fire in us, if we have that spark in us, we definitely can do whatever we want to do, we are definitely going to succeed.  If we can believe in ourselves, nothing in this universe can stop us from achieving what we want.

3. Being confident and being egoistic are exactly opposite to each other. One can be sure of themselves, one can believe in themselves now that is confidence. If we feel that no one is better than us and if we let our ego be the decision maker then like Simran experienced we won’t achieve success. Confidence is a vital tool to achieving success.  Ego is not needed.

4. Simran’s final sweet message was - You could get through the biggest problems in life by being positive and by smiling. If you keep on smiling, the world is yours.

I will bring you the next episode of Sharing Life Lessons next Wednesday.  Until then, 'be happy, be safe and be well'.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE; especially professionals (there are separate life lessons for junior as well as senior professionals).

Our guest for today is Chris Calabia, a Senior Advisor for Supervisory & Regulatory Policy at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.  Chris leads the Foundation’s global efforts to promote a regulatory framework that enables digital financial inclusion.  He also oversees grants into policy and technological innovations that help central banks and supervisors to promote inclusion, stability, integrity, and consumer protection in lower- and middle-income economies.

These are my Key Takeaways from my dialogue with our guest for today:

1. For a positive experience, do your due diligence on the new company or new department you are moving to. Prior to accepting the role, try to meet with people who are working there and ask them not just about the work, but also about what it's like to work there and what the work culture is.

2. Share few personal things about you with your colleagues and managers that enable them to feel connected with you as a person.

3. If you are a junior person in a new role, it is very important that people get to know you. There may be many people in the same role as you are and you'll need to stand out and distinguish yourself. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, to say I don’t know how to do that, or what would be your recommendations? More importantly, demonstrate that you are the kind of person that can get things done.

4. Make sure you understand the mission of the company that you're in and make sure that you can connect what you are doing in your role to that overarching mission.

5. There are so many ways of giving back to a community in order to create the type of community you want to live in and the type of world you want to be in. Chris’ last message was that he wants to live in a world where we listen to each other, he wants our children to grow up in a world where we listen and learn from each other. If we wish the same for ourselves and our children then let’s ask ourselves - what are we doing about it?

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE; especially those who are seeking their purpose in life, their one thing.

Our guest for today is Pravin Gambhir. Pravin is a Gratitude Coach, Positive Habit Facilitator, Entrepreneur and Founder of Swayam Connect. He loves to assist people “connect with their True Self”. He is dedicated to his 'One Thing' in Life - Creating a free Flow of Peace, Love and Joy in lives of 250 million People. He is doing this through his workshop called 'Personal Mastery'. His first pilot program is ongoing in North America.

For those who want to join the second session of Personal Mastery, please write to Pravin Gambhir at: infoswayamconnect@gmail.com and mention that you are a listener of Sharing Life Lessons.

These are my Key Takeaways from my dialogue with our guest for today:

1. Structures are man made and not given to us by God. Whether they are structures of religion, communities, families, society, education, jobs, services. Do not fall prey to structures. Before adopting a structure ask yourself, is this structure working for me? Also ask yourself, which structure is stopping me from living a life that I really want to?

2. Spend some time with yourself. It is very important that you spend time with nature because that is where we have come from.

I personally listen to Abraham Hick’s teachings on the Law of Attraction and they say, go out in nature and appreciate everything you see because it will put you in a happy place, which in turn will raise your vibration so you can attract more happiness. Try it – it works. Even if you go out for a few minutes every day and say ‘you are my favorite plant’ or ‘hey flower - I love your colors’ or ‘dear sun - I am thankful for your sunshine’ – it is that simple

3. Once you find your ‘one thing’, have the courage to live it.

4. Focus on the ‘now’ – whatever it is you are doing at the current time – focus on it completely. If it is eating dinner with the family – focus. 8 hours at work – focus. You will see if you can start focusing then you will flourish from within. It may not come naturally but practice it, practice it, practice it -till you can focus on demand.

5. And finally, remember nobody dies of a failure!!

I will bring you the first episode of Season 8 of Sharing Life Lessons on Wednesday Sept. 22nd.  Until then, 'Be happy, be safe and be well'.

Season 7; Episode: 69: You DON'T have to become a product of your environment or your upbringing!

Season 7; Episode: 69: You DON'T have to become a product of your environment or your upbringing!

Welcome to Episode #69 of SEASON 7 of 'Sharing Life Lessons'.  A podcast that brings you stories from around the world to have fun with and to learn from because stories inspire, stories teach, and stories heal!!  We are one spirit; one soul and together we are creating a library of stories and life lessons.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE; especially those who feel stuck in their environment or circumstance.

Our guest for today is Joy Assent. Joy Assent is an Army veteran, former civil servant, and HR professional. She is an extroverted introvert-an enthusiastic leader who feels most engaged and fulfilled when she's supporting, encouraging, pouring into, and removing barriers for others so they can accomplish great things and do their best

Key Takeaways:

1. As Joy so appropriately said that “the pain of being a child of an addict is you struggle watching them go through the struggle, but you can't save them because they have to come to the realization that they want something different. As much you're in it with them, you're suffering with them, but you can't help them get out of it”. But is that not the case with everything? You may be in a relationship with any kind of addict, or someone suffering from mental health disorder, or having anger management issues, or a pessimist, in all cases you can’t help them get out of it unless they want something different for themselves.

2. In situations that Joy found herself in, it is so easy to get sad and depressed and discouraged and focus on what you don't have and focus on what you wish things would be like. It's okay to feel those feelings and to feel discouraged. But if possible, don't stay in that place and try to find someone or something to be a support, whether that's therapy, whether that's a friend or family to talk to or you could turn to your spirituality.

3. You don’t have to become a product of your environment or of your upbringing.

4. Lastly, we have heard several guests tell us to focus inward but Joy finds her strength in focusing outward, where she can help others, whether it's doing something tangible for them or even just giving them an encouraging word. As Joy reminded us, we are all on this earth to fill a void that only we can fill. So let’s keep reminding ourselves that ‘I am me, I am uniquely me, no one else can be me or tell my story and only I can have the impact that I was born and put here on earth to have’.

I will bring you the final episode of Season 7 of Sharing Life Lessons next Wednesday. Until then, 'Be happy, be safe and be well'.

Season 7; Episode: 68: Everyone is good at something! A discussion with our visually impaired guest.

Welcome to Episode #68 of SEASON 7 of 'Sharing Life Lessons'.  A podcast that brings you stories from around the world to have fun with and to learn from because stories inspire, stories teach, and stories heal!!  We are one spirit; one soul and together we are creating a library of stories and life lessons.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE; especially parents for a crucial parenting tip

Our guest for today is Vineet Saraiwala. Vineet is visually impaired. He is the founder at Atypical Advantage, which is planet’s first talent platform to hire talent, find jobs, buy product & art made by persons with disabilities. He has transformed how people with disabilities shop across India through pioneering concepts like 'sabke liye' which is blend of assistive services & accessible spaces & quiet hour which is a sensory friendly experience for individuals with Autism. He has pursued his post-graduation from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) & strongly believes that generation of compassion is the only way to make the world a better place.

Key Takeaways:

1. Acceptance is key – accept yourself for who you are- accept both the good aspects of you and your imperfections. More importantly, society should not be able to define perfection for an individual. If we all understand this individually and since we ourselves collectively make up society then if each of us stops exposing our definition of perfection on others or be concerned about other people’s definition of it… then right there we will together bring this wave of change that is so needed in society. Acceptance is particularly important when what we have is not in our control just like Vineet’s condition was not in his control.

2. Gratitude. We tend to focus on the few things we don’t have but we don’t focus on the many things that we have. The beauty of this lesson is that it is coming from someone with no vision, which we all know is no small thing. So really for all of us who have the gift of vision, could we use Vineet as a role model and immediately start focusing on the multitude of things we have? Starting with our breath?

3. For ourselves: let’s not go through life comparing ourselves with others – it will only lead us to despair and wanting more and getting stuck in the never ending chase.  For parents: Vineet’s message to us is crucial – don’t compare our children to other children – it is because we are doing it, they will continue to do it all their lives only because it is what we have taught them. Help them get out of this cycle of compare and despair. Let them be their own individual self and as Vineet said ‘Everyone is always good at something’.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE; especially those interested in learning more about why and how we should be of service to others.

Our guest for today is Karon Shaiva. Idobro website: Idobro – Multiply your Impact

Key Takeaways:

1. To grow in life, if an opportunity presents itself to learn something new then grab it.

2. Look beyond the first glance where people are concerned, because people are people, even if there are differences in what color we are, what we eat, what language we speak, what we wear. At heart, at our core, we are all the same.

3. The social world supports the commercial world and not the other way around, as is normally perceived. If we don’t share our wealth with the poor, they will share their poverty with us.

This indeed is a profound statement – if we don’t share our wealth with the poor, they will share their poverty with us. And who wants that outcome? -so let’s resolve to begin with writing a note to self that as much as we all know how to love and help ourselves, let’s take this a bit further and let’s help and love those who don’t have the resources to do that for themselves.

She has also conducted Yoga webinars, the latest one with ICAI ( The Institute Of Chartered Accountants of India ) with over 3000 participants.
Her diets are extremely easy to follow and mainly sustainable .

I applaud Anar for sharing her personal story so honestly. Here are the key takeaways from my discussion with her:

1. There is only one person in the whole world that cannot hurt you and that is yourself.

2. Anar first and foremost said that if you are not valued or if you're not respected, if you are treated like an object, not a human being, then please think where your life is taking you. If you are in any kind of a toxic relationship then don’t doubt yourself. Be confident and take a call because things will not change in such a situation unless you take matters in your own hands and do something about it. For you to take any such step you have to 100% believe in yourself.

3. If you are in a toxic relationship and you are not leaving it only because you are afraid of the future and the unknown, know that nothing can be worse than what you are currently going through and that things can only get better.

4. Once you have made a decision then don’t look back – look forward and move on.

5. And this is my favorite, If you do something in life which is an accomplishment, big or small, which feels joyful to you, which gives you happiness pat yourself on the back and say, I'm proud of myself.

I will bring you the next episode of Sharing Life Lessons next Wednesday. Until then, 'Be happy, be safe and be well'.

I applaud Karla for sharing her personal story so honestly. It surely takes courage to share what she did with us today. I want to re-emphasize what Karla said that she is sharing her story because we struggle with what to do in those deep dark moments. She wants people to know that there is possibility, if you are struggling know to reach out and get some help. Get help from whoever you are close to and also call the national suicide prevention lifeline in the US. The # for which is 800 273 8255 and always remember that you are not alone.

I also want to reiterate Karla’s thoughtful definition of Optimism. Karla says optimism means that permanently and generally life is good and temporarily and specifically we face challenge. And so it's not necessarily about always being happy or always being positive. It's really about understanding that there's a flow. Karla shared many tips on how she moved from hopelessness to a full transformation of herself. She used many self care routines which included gratitude, journaling, affirmations, meditation but her final message is that Self Love and Optimism will carry us through this journey of life and that we always have a choice!

Season 7; Episode: 64: Create energetic boundaries in your relationships! A discussion with a Hawaiian energy healer and Shaman.

Welcome to Episode #64 of SEASON 7 of 'Sharing Life Lessons'.  A podcast that brings you stories from around the world to have fun with and to learn from because stories inspire, stories teach, and stories heal!!  We are one spirit; one soul and together we are creating a library of stories and life lessons.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE; especially those interested in learning more about individual and collective energies.

Our guest for today is James Kawainui.  James is a Native Hawaiian Healer with deep family roots in ancient Hawaii. Over Twenty years ago, James walked away from the “corporate world” and moved back to Hawaii. Since then he has lived, studied, and worked with Traditional Hawaiian and New Zealand Maori Healers. James is the creator of a modern energy healing technique based on both ancient wisdom and modern medicine, designed to facilitate deep transformation. The effects are life-changing and help to reset the body to its Innate Natural Wisdom.

James offers free 30-minute consultations: https://jameskawainui.com/get-back-on-track/

Website: www.jameskawainui.com

My key takeaways from the discussion in this episode are as follows:

 1. We all have an innate sense of where we should be and what we should be doing there is that intuition that people talk about. But so many of us don’t trust it and we continue to listen to our egoic mind, which will keep us in constant fear and doubt. To change, we should realize that to move forward into the new, sometimes we must let go of the old

2. Due to many of our cultures, and this is especially true for women and mothers, we are taught to give ourselves away at the expense of who we are. If you are in a relationship with someone who is not growing with you, you have two choices: Let go of that relationship or create energetic boundaries with them and James explains in this episode how exactly these energetic boundaries are created and maintained.

3. We may have co-dependent relationships that may be out of balance. We should be able to come to an awareness when we are in relationships that is out of balance because then the opportunity to change it steps in. At the same time, we must remember we're undoing a pattern that could be years or lifetimes in the making so will not change overnight – just be patient!

My key takeaways from the discussion in this episode are as follows:

 1. We are all connected and can learn from each other. Susan thought she learned more from the pregnant Nicaraguan women than they learned from her, that she received more than she gave. You know how intertwined a spider’s web is? Our world is the same; we are so interconnected and if we can just feel that, then there is a world of goodness, we can spread all over the globe together. All we need to do is follow the philosophy of accompaniment and walk with each other – that’s it – just walk with each other – not ahead, not behind – only together.

2. The same global issues exist everywhere so if we can reach out globally than fantastic but otherwise, let’s look around and see who needs us to accompany them, to walk with them and to uplift them.

3. Starting any work with a breath and quiet can do wonders because we will be utilizing that valuable space to get the answers that we have within. There are so many life lessons in those brief pauses. Let’s try to pause so we can be more in our center and less in our ego.

4. Remember you have all of the answers you need inside of you – just be patient!

I will bring you the next episode of Sharing Life Lessons next Wednesday. Until then, 'Be happy, be safe and be well'.

Season 7; Episode: 62: Be unapologetically, authentically, and fearlessly yourself! A discussion with a transgender.

Welcome to Episode #62 of SEASON 7 of 'Sharing Life Lessons'.  A podcast that brings you stories from around the world to have fun with and to learn from because stories inspire, stories teach, and stories heal!!  We are one spirit; one soul and together we are creating a library of stories and life lessons.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE, especially parents and family members of the LGBTQ+ community. Disclosure: The discussion is open, candid and graphic.

Our guest for today is Liam Paschall. Liam is a transgender man who has found immense power and pride in accepting the truth of who he is.  He is a passionate servant to the LGBTQ community with the ability to motivate and inspire others to live out loud. His goal is to be a voice to the voiceless and a beacon of hope to the hopeless.

He is a public speaker, facilitator, and diversity & inclusion consultant. He lives his life by this quote from Katherine Center – “You have to be brave with your life, so that others can be brave with theirs.”

You can follow Liam’s female to male transition journey in his blog, “Becoming Liam”.

You can reach out to Liam through his Facebook page: (1) Liam Ashtyn Paschall | Facebook

My key takeaways from the discussion in this episode are as follows:

1. For parents who are encountering this situation in their lives, Liam’s message is: There's nothing that a parent could or couldn't do to make a child gay or lesbian or transgender. So don’t blame yourself for any of it. Instead, love and support your kids. Love them for who they are. Let them be who they are. Don't try to mold them into something you want them to be or something that you feel society expects them to be. Love them and let them be. What they are going through is not easy for them, which is why they need you now more than ever. Let’s go back to what Liam said in his story – the toughest part for him was to come out to his wife. From then on, coming out to friends and at work was easy because of the way his wife handled the situation. Coming out to parents is the hardest for your children and how they can handle their life from then on will truly be based on how you as parents handle their discussion with you.

2.  I want to pray and wish along with Liam, that maybe some day the LGBTQ plus community will not have to come out to anyone, just like the heterosexual community does not need to come out. Their being will be as normalized and included in our society as the being of any heterosexual person is.

3. For others: We have to be true to ourselves. We need to live life authentically. It will not always be easy - there will be fear of the unknown, of not knowing what will be on the other side, and of some people rejecting us but as Liam said - we will have the joy of being unapologetically and authentically ourselves.

I will bring you the next episode of Sharing Life Lessons next Wednesday. Until then, 'Be happy, be safe and be well'.

My key takeaways from the discussion in this episode are as follows:

1. Pass the 'test of three' or choose silence.

2. Don’t compare your possessions with others, you don’t know what they are going through in their lives. Don’t go after your perception of other’s happiness.

3. Look within you – what you have may just be enough. What more are you searching for outside of you because you have the universe within you.

4. It is not important that you win, it is important how you run this race.

Season 6; Episode: 60: Failing successfully! A discussion on how to transform unwanted habits to healthy habits.

Season 6; Episode: 60: Failing successfully! A discussion on how to transform unwanted habits to healthy habits.

Welcome to Episode #60 of SEASON 6 of 'Sharing Life Lessons'.  A podcast that brings you stories from around the world to have fun with and to learn from because stories inspire, stories teach, and stories heal!!  We are one spirit; one soul and together we are creating a library of stories and life lessons.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE, especially those who are looking to discard unwanted habits and adopt healthy habits in life.

Our guest for today is Robin Jonk. We all know habits like exercise, healthy eating and meditation are good for us, but how exactly do we benefit? And why is it so hard to make them stick? Robin dug into the latest research, and founded Chumble, a behavioral start up with the mission to create 1 billion happier lives through habit formation.

website https://chumble.family

Robin has generously offered a 20% savings on his fees for listeners of Sharing Life Lessons. Please schedule an intro call with Robin through https://calendly.com/chumble/freediscoverycall, inserting the special code: SharingLifeLessons20 in the comment section.

My key takeaways from the discussion in this episode are as follows:

1. Habits are the shortcuts that our brain creates to save energy on the repeated behaviors over time.

2. To become aware of the habits we possess, Robin asks us to go through a journaling exercise about noting our repetitive actions over a few days so that we can determine which of the habits we possess are supportive, not supportive and neutral related to the person we want to be. Once we determine the habits we want to change then…..

3. Based on the book Atomic habits authored by James Clear – Robin spoke in detail about the habit loop that consists of cue, craving, reaction and reward and discussed with examples how we can use this habit loop to transform unwanted habits to healthy habits and also create a set of new habits that will add value to our lives.

4. Failing successfully. Seeing failure as a necessary building block that you need for success. This is such a powerful idea! Not only in the matter of habits but in all matters of life. I am digressing slightly here but I ask all of us who are parents, can we include this in our parenting routine and allow our children to fail successfully? To fail, learn lessons from the failure and apply those lessons to the next endeavor leading to success, this will give them such a sense of freedom where no failure will bring them down but in fact they will start expecting and accepting failure like they do successes.

I will bring you the first episode of season 7 of Sharing Life Lessons in three weeks on Wednesday, June 30th. Until then, 'Be happy, be safe and be well'.

Season 6; Episode: 59: A story of three relationships: You must become selfish in a good way to be happy in any relationship!

Welcome to Episode #59 of SEASON 6 of 'Sharing Life Lessons'.  A podcast that brings you stories from around the world to have fun with and to learn from because stories inspire, stories teach, and stories heal!!  We are one spirit; one soul and together we are creating a library of stories and life lessons.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE, especially those who are going through stressful relationships.

Our guest for today is Scott Spears. Scott is a former global consultant, traveling the world for the past 15 years, living in 52 countries, acquiring many lessons in life, death, love and the importance of balancing physical and mental wellness in our lives.

Being a past victim of burnout and death, his journey to recovery in his personal, professional and love lives helped him develop a personalized growth roadmap entitled TIME | LIFE | SELF which is derived from his practical knowledge, failures and successes.

Scott helps people unplug and dump their minds into a visual representation. By focusing on the mind, he uses exercises to tap into better focus and control in order to begin piecing their life puzzle together with an ultimate connection to self.

You can find Scott at Scott J. Spears – TIME | LIFE | SELF (scottjspears.com)

My key takeaways from the discussion in this episode are as follows:

1. Whatever your feelings are, good or bad, especially if you feel you are not being supported by your partner, it is important to pull your partner aside and communicate with them about how you are feeling. Let them know how you think they can support you. Such as in Scott’s example, he said it would have been best if he would have pulled his wife aside and told her that he really wanted to be a part of taking care of their newborn daughter and that she does not have to do it all. It is all about communication.

2. There is no role for pride or ego in any relationship. Be it with parents, siblings, friends, partners, children, and maybe even professional ones. It is best to put ego aside, ego will not do you any good.

3. People change – you may feel that your partner is not the same person you married. The way to counter that is again by communicating in a consistent manner then the change will be expected and not seem so drastic.

4. You need to love yourself before you love anybody else! When you do that, you start to discover your non-negotiables. You must become selfish in a good way to be happy in any relationship.

5. When both of you have taken the time to work on finding yourself and loving yourself, your communication is more honest, there is no hiding of feelings or needs. And that is where real love grows!

I will bring you the final episode of season 6 of Sharing Life Lessons next Wednesday. Until then, 'Be happy, be safe and be well'.

Our guest for today is Amyn Dahya. Dr. Amyn Dahya is a thought leader and mentor whose unique life experiences embody a holistic combination of scientific excellence in the environmental field, fostered by a deep understanding of spirituality and its unifying, humanistic principles. After a life-threatening accident in the Himalayas, he went through an intensive transformation that opened his mind to deep and profound inspirations, which he has penned into seven books.  These inspirations have also led him towards a realization of a range of simple, universal, meditative techniques that maximize the human power of thought, for material and spiritual growth, and wellbeing.  Dr. Dahya shares these inspired techniques through free online webinars and workshops, with the goal of helping build a global positive human consciousness.

My key takeaways from the discussion in this episode are as follows:

1. Patience is extremely important.

2. We all make mistakes; let’s pray to learn from them.

3. If you try to forget about the hurt someone has caused you, it is difficult but if you forgive them and move on, you will fill your life with new and more beautiful experiences, then the space that that hurt once occupied is filled. Forgiveness is one of the greatest healers.

4. In the ugliest of circumstances, know that something good is happening. Have faith in your creator.

5. There are so many dimensions to every situation. Let’s look for them, be open to them, and embrace them.

6. No matter what faith or belief you come from, religious or non-religious, it is important to meditate and search for that higher reality. If you don’t seek, you will not find. If you don’t put your line in the sea, you will not catch fish.

My key takeaways from the discussion in this episode are as follows:

1. In this life, we are simply passing through this journey for a very short time to gain experience. We have nothing to be proud of and nothing to be arrogant about. Humility and gratitude are the two most fundamental lessons that we are in this world to learn.

2. We are all one and the only thing that separates us is our physical bodies. Our roots reside in one source.

3. I don’t know if Amyn managed to get a chuckle out of you but he definitely got one out of me when when he said: the graveyard, is the richest place on the planet, where the best ideas and knowledge get buried without being shared. He said - I plan to bankrupt the graveyard , I plan to share and I highly encourage you to share as well because people get an opportunity to inspire each other with their stories and lessons. My key takeaways from the discussion in this episode are as follows:

1. We are all equal, you are not below anyone nor are you better than anyone

2. Nothing is impossible so do not give up. Every time you fall, you just get up, dust your shoulders and keep moving.

3. If you have purity of purpose then it can shape your entire lives and benefit many others.

4. This one is my favorite life lesson from this discussion – in the opportunity that is being presented to you, ask yourself, am I passing the 200 year test? Will the world be better off because of it for the next 200 years? If so, go ahead and grab the opportunity but if not, then do something else that will pass the test. You can chose to do a 20 year test instead of a 200 year test, the number of years is not relevant, what is relevant is that in the long term will the world be a better place because of what you did?

5. Lastly, If you care to look, the universe is teaching us lessons in everything. You will find the extraordinary in the ordinary!

My key takeaways from the discussion in this episode are as follows:

1. Most people live for others than for themselves – this they do by living up to society’s expectations and not their own.

2. If you put all your attention to any physical pain or mental issue, then of course you will experience more of it. Like they say – where focus goes, energy flows. On the other hand, if you recognize it, acknowledge it, learn from it and let it go then you can get your energy back and you need that energy to propel forward in life.

3. Consciousness, Mindfulness and Meditation make up the three steps to the self-connection cycle and Scott has methodically explained each step to us in this discussion. If we practice these 3 steps then we will be able to achieve self-connection which in turn will enable us to get in touch with our intuition, which will make us feel free again.

I will bring you the next episode of season 6 of Sharing Life Lessons next Wednesday. Until then, 'Be happy, be safe and be well'.

1. Let’s start openly talking about the realm of mental illness, so the future generations are not discriminated against.

2. If you know someone who is suffering from mental disorder, then listen to them, hear what they are trying to tell you and be there for them. If you think they are going to harm themselves or others then get professional help.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE

Our guest for today is Dr. Karen Gedney MD.  Karen is an internal medicine specialist who spent thirty years behind bars as a prison physician.  She was designated as one of the best in the business by the American Correctional Association and won a ‘Heroes for Humanity Award’ for her work in HIV in the correctional system.  She retired from the prison in 2016 and now uses her time to share her experiences as an author, medical expert witness, speaker and mentor to push for holistic prison reform.  She currently is the medical director for the Ridge House in Reno, Nevada  which offers transitional housing and wrap around medical and psychological services for individuals involved in the criminal justice system.

You can find Dr. Gedney at DiscoverDrG.com

Her book titled '30 years behind bars; trials of a prison doctor' can be bought on Amazon.com

The key takeaways from the discussion in this episode are as follows:

1. Proximity – the closer we are to the problem, the better we will be able to understand the root cause making it easier for us to design an appropriate solution

2. Collaboration – without which Karen had to suffer many years of loneliness in her profession and when she started collaborating she said wonderful things started to happen. This could be a life lesson we can carry forward into both our personal and professional lives

I will bring you the next episode of Sharing Life Lessons next Wednesday. Until then, 'Be happy, be safe and be well'.

Season 6; Episode: 52: You matter! How you can drop out of your head and into your heart! Interview with a soul coach.

Welcome to Episode #52 of SEASON 6 of 'Sharing Life Lessons'.  A podcast that brings you stories from around the world to have fun with and to learn from because stories inspire, stories teach, and stories heal!!  We are one spirit; one soul and together we are creating a library of stories and life lessons.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE, especially those who want to transform their negative emotions into positive emotions.

Our guest for today is Claudia-Sam. Claudia-Sam is a Soul Coach for driven women who are stuck with where they're at in life, who feel like they've lost sense of their purpose and who feel unfulfilled and who don't know how to put themselves first without feeling guilty. She supports them to trust themselves, find their purpose, make decisions about their life that they're happy with (even if they're afraid of judgement from others) and helps them to put themselves on their to-do list and feel good about it, using her Tune-In method!

Claudia-Sam's signature program is called Tune-In: Your Confident Self Awaits. It's a 3-month soul coaching initiative for inner guidance. Visit tuneinprogram.com for more information.

You can find her at claudiasamsoulcoaching.com.

My key takeaways from the discussion in this episode are as follows:

1. The first and foremost life lesson from today’s discussion is that ‘Your to-do list will still be there tomorrow.

2. You matter! Self-care needs to be a lifestyle.

3. When we learn to tune in to our body, into our soul, we start reversing the roles between fear and trust. So that fear can step aside, become smaller and the soul can take a bigger space within us.

4. How do we know that fear has even stepped in? First step is to be aware that it is present within us and Claudia presented 3 ways in which we can do that, which are,  physical (what is happening in your body), mental (what are the thoughts in your mind), and emotional (whether you are allowing your emotions to be felt)

5. Second step is to connect with yourself and set those boundaries. What are you saying yes to that you should be saying no to, because it's not uplifting you and it's draining you instead.

6. Last step is being in alignment with your body, your mind and your emotions on a regular lifestyle basis. Once you achieve that you are able to trust more easily.

I will bring you the 53rd episode of season 6 of Sharing Life Lessons next Wednesday. Until then, 'Be happy, be safe and be well'.

Season 6; Episode: 51: There is nothing that you cannot be or do or have! ~Abraham Hicks (master teacher of Law of Attraction)

Welcome to Episode #51 of SEASON 6 of 'Sharing Life Lessons'.  A podcast that brings you stories from around the world to have fun with and to learn from because stories inspire, stories teach, and stories heal!!  We are one spirit; one soul and together we are creating a library of stories.

The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE.

We don't have a guest for today per se because I have decided to change up the format for episode #51 to start Season #6 a bit differently. The episode will be divided into 2 parts:

Part #1:

We are going to listen to a personal story from a pre-recorded video from Abraham Hicks, the master teacher of The Law of Attraction and we will learn from the life lessons she shares from the story. The beauty of the story is its simplicity, despite which, it is loaded with life lessons.  I truly hope you enjoy it.

My key takeaways from the story are as follows:

1. There is nothing that you cannot be or do or have. There is nothing that is outside the limits of your creating. All things are possible.

2. You play both roles inside yourself for every subject in your life. You want abundance of money, but you don’t believe you deserve more money. You want a better relationship, but you don’t believe you will get one. Your resistance is constantly in your own way.

3. Therefore lastly, become as resistance free as possible, justify less, daydream more, laugh more, follow your intuition more, that will lead you to manifest all things you have ever dreamed of in life.

Part #2:

I have selected 4 Golden Nuggets i.e. valuable life lessons from guests of various episodes of this podcast.

Nugget #1: Definition of intuition by an intuition coach, Victoria Shaw from Episode #46

Nugget #2: Life Lessons shared by an ex air force officer, Mike Silva, from his exposure to two near death experiences from Episode #25

Nugget #3: Let's not avoid the void but start using that space to make the choices of our lives from Stephanie Chick of Episode #45

Nugget #4: God, the Universe, our inner being is constantly talking to us all day every day, the question is are we listening? Listen to excerpts of an amazing two part interview series with Neale Donald Walsch, the author of the NY Best selling book that was on the best selling list for 134 consecutive weeks. Episodes #41 and #42

I will bring you the 52nd episode of season 6 of Sharing Life Lessons on Wednesday April 14th. Until then, 'Be happy, be safe and be well'.
