A Conversation with Tosca

This week I am joined by my friend Tosca (she/her). Tosca is a mama to two kiddos, a sign language interpreter, and figured out she has ADHD 2 years ago, over a year after her first baby was born. She is brilliantly honest and has impacted me personally in regards to ADHD. She is one of the people that shared her ADHD findings about herself in our weekly virtual meet-ups in such a way that I saw a whole new outlook on ADHD. I'm so grateful for her taking time out of her busy day to share her stories with us!

Sharing your ADHD stories

Sharing your ADHD stories

My diagnosis started with hearing stories from other women that had been diagnosed with ADHD. I believe in the importance of listening and being heard as part of our understanding and healing journeys.

If you are a woman (cis, trans, non-binary) that has an ADHD diagnosis, I'd love to share a conversation with you about your journey. Please connect me via email at sharingstoriesadhd@gmail.com. A reminder that I am not a therapist or doctor, the idea is peers supporting and holding each other up virtually.

Let's Get it Started - My Story

Hello! I'm getting interviews and background stuff underway for the near future and I thought I'd kick off the series with my own story. I'm Laurie (she/her), a 40 year old Canadian woman with 4 kids making my messy way through a recent ADHD diagnosis. I tried to keep it brief (a difficult task for an ADHDer) as talking to myself is not as much fun as sharing a conversation with another person. It's imperfect, even though I would prefer it to be perfect, as you will hear.
If you'd like to share your stories about your ADHD diagnosis with me, please send an email to sharingstoriesadhd@gmail.com!
