Episode 11: The Tōhoku Sekigahara Campaign
Hello and welcome to September! I have been teasing this for the past few weeks and it's finally here! For the month of September, we are going to be focusing on the lesser known battles that were fought around the time of the famous Battle of Sekigahara, which was fought on October 21, 1600. This week, we are looking at the northern campaign known as the Tōhoku Sekigahara Campaign. This was fought between the Uesugi clan, who had sided with Ishida Mitsunari in the West and the Date and Mogami clans who sided with Tokugawa Ieyasu in the East! ~Shawn, 9/3/2021 Our website: www.thesengokuarchives.com Our merch shop: https://the-sengoku-archives.myspreadshop.com

Episode 9: Shima Sakon
Again, I apologize for a short episode this week. I am preparing for a month long topic in September and some more for October and they have required a lot more time and research. Unfortunately too, there is not a lot on Shima Sakon (at least in English sources), which has resulting in a short episode for this week. As I stated, this week, we will be talking about one of the Western Army's strategists, Shima Sakon. Enjoy the short episode this week for September is about to get interesting! ~Shawn 8/20/2021 Our merch shop: https://the-sengoku-archives.myspreadshop.com Visit our website: www.thesengokuarchives.com

Episode 4: Cao Cao and Oda Nobunaga
Hi everyone! This was a difficult one due to my computer making my web page crash and, because I don't have a sound room, waiting for thunderstorms to pass so I can finish the episode! But here it is! In this episode, we are taking at look at Cao Cao, the Chancellor of the Han Dynasty and King of Wei, to Oda Nobunaga, the first of the Three Unifiers of Japan. I apologize in advance for any mispronunciations of Chinese names for it has been a long time since I have dived into Chinese history. Also, I did mention that there is a translation out there for The Art of War and I have the link for you right here: https://www.amazon.com/Art-War-Essential-Translation-Classics/dp/0140439196/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=9780140439199&qid=1626451011&sr=8-1. This translation contains the notes that Cao Cao wrote in his copy of the book and it managed to survive. Hope you all enjoy! ~Shawn 7/16/2021

Welcome back! After glossing over who Saika Magoichi was in last week's episode, I decided to go back and talk about him and why I could not get into last week. We hit 10,000 views last week on the website and I'm so thankful for my fans. It wouldn't have gotten there without you! Stay tuned for next week's episode! ~Shawn 7/8/2021

Episode 1: Introduction and Overview
Hello everyone! This is the first podcast episode for The Sengoku Archives, a website I created about four years ago that focuses on the Sengoku Jidai (1467-1615). This is a "trailer" for the podcast as I lay out what The Sengoku Archives is, what the goal is for this podcast, and a brief timeline of what happens during these 148 years of war. This is also my first ever podcast, so I hope to have the kinks worked out for the next episode. Thank you for listening! ~Shawn, 6/24/2021
