Trust God's Plan for Your Future - Sherrod Schuler
In this episode (Spotify video), we discuss the topic "Trusting God's Plan for Your Future." We share three areas that can help us navigate the uncertainties of life and find peace in God's plan.
Firstly, we discussed the importance of embracing unpredictability. By surrendering our own expectations and trusting in God's plan, we can find solace in the fact that He sees the bigger picture.
Next, we explored the concept of persevering through challenges. While God's plan for our lives doesn't guarantee a smooth journey, we can draw strength from our relationship with Christ and find purpose in the midst of trials.
Lastly, we emphasized the importance of aligning our desires with God's will.
Trusting God's plan for our future allows us to find peace, purpose, and fulfillment in every season of life. As we navigate through life’s uncertainties, let us remember that God's plan is perfect, and He is always faithful to lead us toward the future He has prepared for us.

Catch the negative thought: The first step to stopping negative self-talk is to become aware of it. Pay attention to your thoughts and try to identify when you start thinking negatively about yourself. Once you catch the negative thought, you can begin to challenge it.
Challenge the negative thought: Once you have identified the negative thought, challenge it by asking yourself if it is true. Often, negative thoughts are not based on reality but are instead based on our fears and insecurities.
Replace the negative thought with a positive one: Once you have challenged the negative thought, replace it with a positive one. Reframe the negative thought into a positive affirmation. For example, if you are thinking "I'm not good enough," replace it with "I am enough, and I have many strengths and qualities."

In today's 10 Minute Commute we encourage you to "Let go, let God." Here are three points to consider: First, Surrendering control: One of the key ideas behind "let go, let God" is the concept of surrendering control. It is a reminder that we cannot always control the outcome of every situation and that sometimes the best thing we can do is to let go and trust God. Second, trusting in God: "Let go, let God" is also about trusting in HIS divine plan. Third, finding peace and acceptance: Finally, "let go, let God" can help you find peace and acceptance in any situation. By releasing the need to control everything you may be able to let go of anxiety and worry and find a sense of peace in the present moment.
Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." This verse encourages individuals to trust in God and submit to his plan, even when they don't fully understand it.
Psalm 55:22: "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken." This verse reminds us that God is there to support us and carry our burdens and that we can find strength and stability in him.
Matthew 6:25-27: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" This verse encourages us to let go of worry and trust in God's provision, knowing that he cares for us and will provide for our needs.

Today, we will discuss why it's important to earn your success. Specifically, in this episode, we looked at three principles: responsibility, stewardship, and gratitude.
First is Responsibility, we believe we are called to take responsibility for working hard to achieve our goals. Proverbs 16:3 says, "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans." This means that when we work hard and commit our efforts to God, He will bless our endeavors.
But why is this important? Taking responsibility for our actions helps us grow and mature as individuals. It allows us to learn from our mistakes and develop new skills and abilities. And when we achieve success through our own hard work, we can take pride in our accomplishments and recognize the value of our efforts.
Another important principle is stewardship. We believe that everything we have comes from God, and we are called to use our resources wisely and for His glory. 1 Peter 4:10 says, "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms."
Therefore, this means we should be good stewards of our time, talents, and opportunities. By earning our success, we can recognize the value of our resources and use them to honor God. And when we do so, we can trust that He will bless our efforts and use them for His purposes.
Finally, earning our success can help us develop a spirit of gratitude. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." When we work hard and see the results of our efforts, we can appreciate the value of our accomplishments and feel grateful for the opportunities we have been given.
This gratitude can help us stay humble and focused on what really matters in life. It reminds us that every good thing comes from God and that we should always be thankful.

Patience is a virtue often difficult to cultivate in our fast-paced world. However, learning to be patient can bring many benefits to our lives, including reduced stress, improved relationships, and greater resilience in the face of challenges. To develop patience, it's important to be mindful of God's grace, set realistic expectations, and focus on the present moment. We can also draw inspiration from biblical characters such as Job, who demonstrated patience and faith in adversity. Learning to be patient can improve our overall well-being and lead more fulfilling lives.
1. Be mindful of God's grace: is being present at the moment and observing through your thoughts and emotions about God's thoughts toward you. By being mindful of His grace, you can become more aware of your own impatience and learn to manage it more effectively, knowing that His grace is sufficient. Being mindful of God's grace can also help you cultivate a sense of calm and acceptance, making it easier to be patient in difficult situations.
2. Set realistic expectations: Impatience often arises when we have unrealistic expectations about how quickly things should happen or how things should be. By setting realistic expectations for yourself, you can avoid the frustration that often leads to impatience. It's important to remember that some things take time and are out of your control, and that's okay.
3. Focus on the present moment: Impatience often arises when we are focused on the future and what we want to happen next. Focusing on the present moment and what you can do right now can cultivate a sense of calm and patience. This can also help you avoid worrying about things that are outside of your control, which can contribute to impatience and frustration.
