Episode 27: Feeling uncomfortable? Maybe it's a sign you're growing.
When I started running, the most helpful pieces of information I learnt was the difference between discomfort and pain. Discomfort is a long-term struggle that builds up over time; you can run through this, as far as you can, because this indicates growth and pushing past limitations. Pain is a short, sharp feeling that comes on suddenly; it ought to cause you to stop. Running through this is detrimental and will lead to further, long-term injury. However, we’re very quick to interpret discomfort as pain, we don’t push through, and we never gain. And so, with life. This week’s episode is all about discomfort and staying present through it all. Growth is an uncomfortable process but, so often, we misinterpret discomfort as a reason to not continue with something. Leaning into discomfort lends itself to learning from our discomfort. When the challenges in life come our way, we can either go through it, or grow through it. The choice lies in how much we choose to stay present, stay aware, and not take the easy route out. Episode 26: There's No Such Thing As Wrong Decisions; Just Be Here Now.
For the longest time, I was haunted by the fear of making 'wrong decisions' in life. I was so scared that I would go off the 'right path' for me, and that I would fuck my life up. Living with regret was one of the things I tried so hard to avoid. However, this fear caused me to play things safe all the time and not branch out to realise my full potential, or lean fully into my humanity. As I get older, I'm learning to adjust my ways of thinking and realise that there may not be such a thing as a wrong decision. All decisions we make in life shape our experiences and, as I was reminded earlier this week by the wonderful Danielle LaPorte, the circumstance you reflect on one day as a 'wrong choice' may be the thing you're thankful for tomorrow for teaching you so much... In this episode, I talk about letting go of my inner-teenager's dream and how, in the end, I didn't realise I would be so thankful that I did. I'm here, now, and I am so grateful. I'm starting to believe that life finds a way, things work out, as long as you commit to staying present with every step you take.

Episode 25: Getting Out Of Your Comfort Zone and Aligning Your Life
This. This is the episode that stopped it all. The reason why I took a break from the pod to reflect what came up for me one sunny afternoon on a run. Amazing how the small things can have such a huge impact, right? I always assumed that getting out of your comfort zone meant taking on the big, life changing things. The actions that were so visible to everyone else. The adopting of something new in your life. However, I now realise that getting out of your comfort zone is about what you lose, too. What you choose to let go of. How you make space in your life for those new things. Aligning your life with what is true for you, regardless of what others may think or how damn uncomfortable it makes you feel. Even when it doesn't make sense - especially when it doesn't make sense. This episode goes through all of this and more. I'm still processing what this means for me in my life over the coming months but, for now, let's choose to be on the journey together. Being challenged to let go of something? Or are you wanting to try something new but fear the discomfort? Let's talk. I'd love to hear from you. email@example.com, or visit www.sheuncensored.com

Episode 24: What To Do When You're Tired Of Adulting
Hi, hello, hey. I'm sorry I was gone for so long but I'm back this week with a brand new episode and I am so excited to speak to you again! This week, I talk about crying in my friends car, getting sick of adulting (we all do), and how we can become active participants in our lives again. Sometimes, we just feel like we're on auto-pilot, getting buffeted along by circumstances, and not really paying attention to what's going on. Life can sometimes get stuck in a rut of just getting things done, and the same old routines. There is a time for going with the flow, and there's a time for actively pursuing what we want. Over the past few weeks, I've been challenged to get my life in alignment and how, once again, I'm starting to make decisions to create the life I want to live. In this episode, I talk about how we can become active participants in the creation of our lives, and how we can balance our day-to-day responsibilities, must-dos, and have-to-dos. It all comes back to having some good, old fashioned fun and connecting with our inner child. At the end of the day, balance is everything. If you enjoy the She Uncensored podcast, please consider leaving a review on Apple Podcasts. It helps us find more like-minded folks who can share in these conversations, and I love to know that you're resonating with what we talk about each week.

Episode 23: How To Love Yourself (Especially The Bits You Don't Like)
We all have those aspects of our personality that we don't like and the bits of ourselves that not many people see. How do we accept those? And what happens when we do? Following a challenging two weeks, I'm here with some thoughts about loving all aspects of ourselves - especially the bits we don't like. Any thoughts or questions? Email me - firstname.lastname@example.org. I can't wait to hear from you.

Episode 22: My Journey with Minimalism & Other Thoughts
Let's catch up. This episode is a summary of what I've been up to lately, my thoughts on minimalism, and my new Etsy store. This one is entirely unstructured - just a cup of tea, some snacks, and a rambling of my thoughts over the past few weeks. Also, sorry this is late. Check out my Etsy store here: https://etsy.me/37ANQY6 What are your thoughts on minimalism? Have you ever considered it, or are you a minimalist? Maybe you're not a believer in it at all and love living with more... Let me know! email@example.com Love love love xx

Episode 21: Your Opinions are Hindering Your Growth

Episode 20: Do More of What You Want & Create the Life You Want to Live
Episode 20! Twenty! I feel like this is a mini-landmark episode...If you've been here from the beginning, or you've only just joined - thank you so much for being here and choosing to listen. It means so much and I appreciate every single one of you. In this episode, I wanted to talk about inviting more of what you desire in life - whether it's finally starting that art class, or finding a new career, or starting over in a new place. Whatever it is that your heart is telling you to do, go do it and see what happens. So often we bury our desires under our obligations and things that need to get done throughout the day. We don't give what we want enough importance because we're not taught that our joy and fulfilment in life is important. Sometimes, we don't go after what we want because we have a lack of belief in ourselves and our ambitions... No matter what the reasons are that have made you place your desires on the bottom of your priority list, let 2021 be the year that they're given first place. For this episode, I talk about the many reasons we may not pursue what we want, and how we can start inviting more of what we desire into our lives every single day. Episode 19: I Quit Social Media & This Is What Happened.
At the beginning of December, or thereabouts, I decided to quit social media for a while. I'm not a huge social media user anyway and I've never felt comfortable putting my personal life online for just anyone to see. Personally, it doesn't feel right for me to allow strangers insight into my life and to have a bigger audience than the people directly around me. Quitting social media basically meant deactivating my Instagram account as that was my main vice. (I said farewell to Facebook a few years ago, Twitter was something I never really understood the hype, Snapchat was a no, and TikTok I'll leave to Gen Z.) I just thought it would be a nice break from constantly picking up my phone and mindlessly scrolling for fifteen - twenty minutes. What I didn't expect was all the other benefits that came with it...Quite honestly, I'm shocked at how I feel now. So, in this week's episode, I discuss what I've discovered in the last few weeks, the changes I feel, and what my thoughts about social media are. This is all my opinion, by the way - you can disagree and you can argue. Right now, I'm more than happy to continue with this social media free way of life. What do you think of social media? Think I'm talking crap? Or maybe you've given up social media in 2021? Perhaps you're someone who can't live without it, or you've never had any social media accounts? Whatever your thoughts, let me know. Email me at email@example.com or head to www.sheuncensored.com

Episode 18 - Making Friends with Fear in 2021
Fear. We all know her but I feel I've let her have the command of the direction of my life for too long. In this final episode of 2020, I discuss my feelings about fear and what I want to change in 2021. Thank you for joining me on this journey through 2020 and for listening. You've allowed me a space to dive deeper into myself and I hope, through doing so, you've been able to find undiscovered parts of yourself, too.

Episode 17: Resilience - What it is, and how you can increase your resilience in every day life.
What is Resilience? What does it look like? How does it feel? In the week’s episode, we explore the idea of resilience, how to become more resilient, and identifying how you can improve your resilience… You might be more resilient than you give yourself credit for. (Oh, and take a shot every time I say resilient ;]) If you enjoyed this episode, please consider leaving a five star review on Apple Podcasts. It really does help and I appreciate your feedback to improve how I deliver these episodes to you.

Episode 16: You Need to Take a Break - Making Space for Rest in the Hustle Culture
This episode is about reconnecting with yourself by not depriving yourself of what you need. Our default mode as humans is to deny ourselves of that which we need, or to view ours needs as luxuries with which we occasionally treat ourselves with after we feel we have 'earned' it. The reality is, our needs are relevant and we deserve so much of what we deny ourselves in order to live a fulfilling life. We also talk about remembering that we are part of a wider, natural system which works through rhythms and cycles which allow us to move through life much easier. Our constant state of go, go, go is stopping us from accessing the flow, flow, flow of life. In order to reconnect, we need to disconnect and build rest into our lives so that we can keep moving forward happy and healthy.

Episode 15: Exposing Female Beauty Standards - Assumptions, Stereotypes, & Experiences [Part 2 of 2]
In this episode, we build on the foundations of last week’s conversation. How do these beauty standards operate today? How do they effect the relationship that we have with ourselves? How do they effect the relationship that we have with each other? We also take a good look at the assumed messages the fat body sends because, if anything, a woman must be slim before she in considered beautiful. To summarise, we talk about the other ways that we can illuminate our world with different beauties, how we can support our sisters, and also how we can move forward to start creating a new way of being. Knowledge is power. From having researched these episodes, I’ve learnt a lot about myself and the relationship I have with my own body. My hope for you is that, armed with this knowledge, you walk away from this episode with a bit more freedom than you had yesterday. If this means that you move through the world with your head held higher, more confidence, more unity with yourself and others…then that’s a great start. …Because, honestly, it’s time to put down what isn’t yours to carry. And if you put it down, you’ll invite others to do the same.

Episode 14: Exposing Female Beauty Standards - Capitalism, The Male Gaze, & Power [Part 1 of 2]
We all know that women’s bodies are subject to scrutiny and the criticism women receive for not keeping up with normalised, narrow standards of attractiveness are tangible. From magazine covers to social media, from online forums to newspapers…the female body is heavily judged, debated, and critiqued. In this episode, we’re looking at the historical roots of female beauty standards, and how they operate. We talk about capitalism and power relations; this is vital in laying the foundation for understanding where these impossible, ever-changing standards developed and how they operate on females today. Ultimately, it helps us in understanding the dangerous messages they send to all of us who threaten to fall outside of this beauty remit. It’s a heavy one. Grab a brew, and get ready. You know what they say - the truth will set you free but first it’ll piss you off.

Episode 13: Gut Feelings, Leaning Into Discomfort, & Breaking Your Comfort Zone
In this episode, I take a walk over some old ground. This stuff has come up for me again - about chasing my desires, and breaking out of my comfort zone - and I thought that if I needed a reminder, maybe someone else out there does, too. I talk about comfort zones, identifying what my "gut feeling" sounds like, and prioritising the things that make me feel whole. Let's not make our homes in the comfort zone - let's keep pushing the boundaries of ourself and see where life leads.

Episode 12: We all know about toxic positivity, but what about toxic gratitude?
There's a lot of awareness around toxic positivity online and, in this week's episode, I explore the concept of toxic gratitude. Gratitude journalling, and using gratitude as a means of becoming more aware of what you have rather than what you lack, can be a wonderful tool for transforming one's mindset. However, in the wrong context, can it become a toxic trait that serves to undermine our own feelings and desires? Let's catch up and talk about it... Episode 11: FOMO, the art of not comparing your life to everyone else's, & other things I learnt in my 20s...
I’m back! Launching this new series of the SheUncensored Podcast, I wanted to begin with this episode as I’ve finally hit the inevitable 3-0. But, before I get stuck into a new decade, I wanted to take some time to reflect on what I learnt throughout my Twenties. There was a lot to think about but had I been told some of these things ten years ago, I may not have been so hard on myself… Well, maybe. Anyway, I’m here to pass on the things that have helped me over the past ten years in hopes that they may be able to help you, too. We discuss on the idea of your twenties being the golden decade where you get everything done, living life a little more slowly, and how it’s absolutely, positively, ultimately acceptable if you do not have your shit together…Me, neither. If you enjoyed this episode, please consider leaving a review on Apple podcasts, following @SheUncensored on instagram, and signing up to the website www.sheuncensored.com so you never miss another post!

Episode 10: Gender Expectations, Lockdown Learnings, Living with Intention, & What Happens Next...
A new weekend approaches, and a new episode is here! This week, we talk about gender expectations with the differences between masculinity and femininity. This links into what I have been learning in lockdown, including the discussion of minimalism and the core belief of living intentionally. (I'm also interrupted by my guinea pig and, if you listen closely, you'll be able to hear my guinea pigs in the background having their own conversations...) Like what you hear? Episode 9: Learning to Love Yourself, Honouring Your Desires, & Why Self-Love is Integral for a Life Well Lived
Self-Love has been bounded around social media for the last few years and tends to focus on the basic care - eating well, having a bath, and face masks. All well and good but, in this week's episode, we explore the idea that self-love is also doing the hard work of confronting yourself, of learning when to quit, learning when to grit your teeth and carry on, and how it can mean a temporary moment of pain for a future of freedom. Self-love doesn't feel like love all the time. Please feel free to continue the conversation over on my instagram, @sheuncensored. Episode 8: Tell Your Story
In this episode, we discuss the power of telling your story and connecting with others. We seem to think that other people's experiences invalidate our own - another way comparison likes to creep up on us - but after this week's episode, I hope that you feel much more confident in the power of your narrative, how you got here, what you went through, and how you can inspire others. As Ram Dass says, we're all just walking each other home...

Episode 6: You Are Enough/Your Default Is Love
I’ve never been good at meditation or anything that requires sitting still for long periods of time but, lately, my new practice has been 'seven minute meditations.' This week, I talk about what happened when I tried to meditate and share the feelings that came up when I finally made time to sit and listen to myself. We discuss the idea of being enough, our lives being the perfect springboard to dive into ourselves, and how to practically find our own truths hidden beneath the layers. We also touch on topics of love, compassion, and exploring the defence mechanisms we’ve learnt from experience. Mentioned in this episode are two Podcasts - Happy Place and The Motherkind Podcast. Episode 5: People Pleasing, Vulnerability, Authenticity, & Support Systems.
In this week's episode, we explore the concept of people pleasing and how it shows up in different ways in our lives. Getting completely vulnerable, I explore the ways in which it showed up in my life at a time when I least expected it! Using this example, we also explore the reasons as to why it's so important to find your support system in family, friendships, and other relationships. Wrapped up in this topic is, of course, the idea of vulnerability - how does people pleasing stop us from being vulnerable? How do we show up as our true selves every day? Where do we find the strength to throw away the mask and be ourselves? We explore all the wonderful paradoxes that come with being human and how we can live as our authentic selves.

Episode 4: Success, Overcoming Discouragement, and How to Keep Going
In this week's episode, we talk about success, and life being a series of choices we make. Feeling unmotivated to make changes in your life? How can we create healthy, disciplined routines that take us to the next level in life? What does success mean for us? How do we create a life that we want, within the situations we currently live in? If you want a dose of inspiration to motivate you to get what you want in life, keep listening!

Episode 3: Honouring Your Feelings
In this week's episode, we discuss the idea of labelling emotions as 'positive' and 'negative' and whether this is truly helpful when we need to talk out the tough stuff. We talk about being surrounded by the right people who can hold the space for us, what this looks like, and also what this time of social distancing can teach us about ourselves. Prepare to dig deep and honour the feelings that make you wonderfully human.

Episode 2: Stress - Expectation vs. Reality?

Episode 1: Fear and Chasing Our Dreams
In this first episode, we explore the reasons why we are so scared to chase our dreams and go for what we truly want. We'll figure out what we can do during this time of lockdown to explore our heartfelt longings a little more...
