Time for a Q&A session - tackling questions that many people are grappling with!

Time for a Q&A session - tackling questions that many people are grappling with!

This is a very special episode - the first (of many, hopefully!) Q&A on this platform!

I have taken up some of the questions raised by people in my connection list. I believe these questions would resonate with many of the listeners of this podcast. Whether it be retaining positivity in an increasingly challenging world or getting better at rejection handling, we all at some point in our lives need these skills to navigate life successfully, don't we?

So listen in, and hopefully, some of the tips offered in this episode help you in your own lives.

If you have any questions you'd like answered, please send them through to me (via email or through my website) and I'll be more than happy to answer them in future Q&A episodes.

Failure is fantastic - bring it on!!!

Failure is fantastic - bring it on!!!

FAILURE - does that word scare you? I know it used to scare me one helluva lot!!

I hated failing as a school kid, so I chose not to try out anything that I wasn't 100% sure of succeeding in. The result? I became cocooned and stayed stuck in a tiny little comfort zone. The sad part was that I never tried to figure out why I was scared of failure. I mean, failure didn't have a physical form that looked terrifying.

If you are nervous about failure, have you wondered why that is so? Have you looked under the covers to find the root cause so you can address it?

This episode is all about changing your mindset towards failure so that you can start to change your life. After all, it all begins with the thought process, doesn't it? #thinkbelieveachieve

So dive in!

Do you worry too much?

Do you worry too much?

In a life where we face untold tragedies and stresses that are often outside our control, how can we at least avoid letting small things affect us and hold us down?

What if we could develop internal fortitude that helps us tackle worries like a pro?

In this episode, I talk about the "intellectual immune system" existing within each one of us that can counter any positive change that we might try to make.

Is your job one of your life's greatest miseries?

Is your job one of your life's greatest miseries?

In this episode, I talk about the hottest trend in the labor market over the past six months - people quitting their jobs.

The Great Resignation (as it is known in the U.S.) is a phenomenon that sees millions of people leaving their jobs every month. Not all of them leave because they've got better jobs lined up. A large percentage of those quitting are so sick of their jobs that, one fine day, they just QUIT! No other job to go to, and yet, they walk out the door with a sense of relief!

What could be the reasons that are driving people to take such risks, opting for uncertainty over a lousy but certain career?

Dream the impossible - is it a cliché of self development?

Dream the impossible - is it a cliché of self development?

This episode is about dreams, possibilities, and success. Do you believe that you can achieve anything if you set your mind to it? Are you a person who believes in the power of dreams or are you more oriented towards reality?

Sharing some of my thoughts with you on this subject and inviting you to share yours by messaging/commenting. I believe that success cannot have a one-size-fits-all model as we're all unique in our own ways. There are however certain elements of success that are universal.

Listen in to find out my 3P formula for success!

Knowledge and Wisdom

Knowledge and Wisdom

Knowledge and wisdom can often be confused for one another as they are two sides of the same coin. In this episode, we look at how they are different and how we can leverage our knowledge to gain wisdom while we go on to live more satisfying lives.

I've come across some wonderful quotes on this subject - "Knowledge helps you make a living while Wisdom helps you make a life" is one such interesting quote. Author Ken Poirot put it this way - "Wisdom comes from making mistakes, having the courage to face them, and make adjustments moving forward based upon the knowledge acquired through those experiences".

Understanding Employee Motivation

Understanding Employee Motivation

In this episode, the spotlight is on job satisfaction, morale, and motivation for an employee. What do these terms actually mean, are they given the importance they deserve, and how do you currently score on these counts in your job? I talk about a 3-step journey to start scoring high on the three factors under discussion.

I'm sure you're aware that being unhappy in your job or career has a definite impact on your happiness in other areas of life. Work cannot be isolated from the rest of your life, given it occupies such a large portion of your life. If you're unhappy at work, you've got a lot of company - over 70% of the global workforce is your corner! Sounds rather depressing, doesn't it? But the good news is that you can change your situation. It does take effort, but the result is always worth it!

So strap yourselves in and enjoy this ride as Travis talks about his leadership experience within the military and outside it, and also other issues such as the qualities a good leader should possess, the common mistakes leaders make, the significance of delegation for leaders, and if you're an "accidental leader" you don't want to miss the last part of this interview!
