Soul, Heart, Nerve, & Sinew (SHNS)
By Kirk Pineda
Welcome to the Soul, Heart, Nerve, & Sinew (SHNS) podcast, hosted by Kirk. SHNS is a podcast focused on building SHNS as a lifestyle brand. The SHNS lifestyle represents cultivating awareness of direction and calling (Soul), building emotional clarity and regulation (Heart), developing a reflective and adaptive mindset (Nerve), and deepening relationships with the self and others (Sinew). Episodes entail sharing info from recently completed books, and giving the best advice I learned from them. With your help, we can define what it means to be a resilient, creative, and curious human.

What does death teach us about being alive? - A review & reflect on “When I Woke Up” by Paul Evans
Welcome back everyone to the 3rd episode of the Soul, Heart, Nerve and Sinew podcast! In this episode I’m reviewing, reflecting, and discussing three parts in Paul Evans’s 2019 book “When I Woke Up.” In it I focus on his death and resuscitation, his 77-day coma, and his tenacity to rebuild his once-lost multimillion-dollar business. I tie his events back to events in my own life, and the overarching themes of taking care of your health, using your voice, and the “magic” behind never giving up.

7 Essential Lessons I Learned From “Mastery” by Robert Greene
Hey everyone! Welcome to the first episode of the Soul, Heart, Nerve, & Sinew (SHNS) Podcast! In this episode I’ll be talking about the 7 lessons I learned from reading one of Robert Greene’s phenomenal books on self-development. Inside, we’ll talk about the prime emotion needed to achieve mastery, importance behind mentorship, tips on social intelligence, cultivating a dimensional mind, pitfalls to mastery, reasons for mastery, and how it feels to achieve mastery. I rate this book around a 7.5/10, being a book that would strongly fall under a Soul and Nerve category, and secondly under a Sinew category. Thanks for listening!
