Short Story Hunters

Well, they somehow managed an entire series despite many attempted injunctions to have them taken off air. B and Jonny see out Series One with the grand finale, Bang - based around 3 stories about explosions. First up is the opening extract from The Panopticon Experiment, a gripping tale of friendship and hope by Rachel Caldecott. No, it's not a new hard-hitting crime series. It's more fun chat as the Internet's only Hiberno-Swiss duo return for the penultimate episode of Series 1. 

B. recommends the many health benefits of drinking hot water, while Jonny remembers, as a lad, always having wanted but never receiving a helium-filled balloon. Before you get your hopes up, B & Jonny haven't been. They managed to get to the Lit Lounge again and somehow foist another show on an unsuspecting public. This week they're featuring two short stories on the "Locked In" theme, along with an excerpt from a newly published, gripping and tense thriller. #MandyDream visits Vlogger, Mandy, who's just about managing to get through Lockdown. Drive Me Nuts sees Constable Watkins and his Sarge try to unravel a perplexing mystery of a disturbed man, and Broken Fingers, is the opening 500 words of new thriller by author Stephen Coombes. Keeping their weekly date in the now legendary Lit Lounge, B & Jonny explore the frequently tricky subject of dating, with the usual mix of fun and wry sideways glancing. The show features three stories on fledgling relationships: My First Love by Rachel Caldecott, Faint Heart by Eva Ulian and Cinderella 2.0 by David Lewis.

Well, you can't have too much of a good thing, but in the meantime you'll have to put up with another one of these. This time B & Jonny take an amusing look at murderous intentions showcasing three more short stories on that theme. This week we have: Neighbours by Matthew Snoding. How to Commit The Perfect Crime by Sinead and Till Death Us Do Part by Jake Joy.

Believe it or not, B and Jonny are still at large. Yes. Apparently there's been a problem with the paperwork and the writs haven't been served yet. So this week they're looking at childhood homes and the memories they hold, with three more short stories based on that theme. Sculpture by J A Babo.
