By shotbyShingie.

I'm Shingie (shotbyshingie); I'm an artist based in Toronto. The artform I'm currently pursuing full time is Photography. I also make youtube videos sharing my photographic journey through vlogs and sit down videos. I'm currently shooting film when photographing, using various medium format cameras and 35mm film cameras. I'm an all-around artist with experience making music (beats) as well as design. The programs I use daily are adobe lightroom, photoshop, premiere, illustrator, and fl studio.

I suck at being vulnerable or sharing all my deep thoughts on camera so I'm trying out podcasting.

The process/things to consider when investing in a studio space and commercializing it effectively.

Hello family, I’m here with a new fresh podcast sharing the process/things to consider when investing in a studio space and commercializing it. Over the last few weeks I’ve been working on leasing a photography studio with the intention to of commercializing into a profitable business while also offering wonderful photographic services. During this process I’ve learned quite a lot about how to find the right space, owning a new business, leasing a commercial space and etc. In this podcast I’ll be sharing this process, it’s challenges and things to look out for when getting into the creative space rental business. I’ll touch on the different types of business registrations as well as their benefits. I’ll also be touching on the difference between commercial spaces and residential as well as why you’d choose one over the other. I’m excited to share this with you guys and hopefully it helps.

Photographer, slow down and..

Photographer, slow down and..

In this podcast, I'll be talking about the importance of slowing down and looking around you. Many of us already have the tools to be who we want to be but we lack the ability to slow down. The desire for growth can be very overshadowing to your growth. This desire is the desire to be somewhere else you aren't (your goal and the desire to achieve it). The more I've slowed down, the more I've been very effective in utilizing my tools. Hope this helps someone find their purpose.

How to be Inspired and Grow Creatively. The True Law of Attraction and The Universe.

How to be Inspired and Grow Creatively. The True Law of Attraction and The Universe.

This podcast focuses on sensitive topics that limit the human mind. Not only will it unlock your true potential, but it will also grant you unlimited inspiration and creative growth. I'll be talking about the laws of attraction and the universe. This isn't about God, it's about the human mind. The human mind is a problem when in the absence of awareness. This awareness is greater than all, as it will change your perspective on your creative life. I will be using real-life examples to support my perspective. This podcast will teach you how to be inspired and grow creatively. This will be the true law of attraction and the universe.

Malcolm & Marie | A Genius Movie, Breaking Artistic Barriers and Rightfully, NOT FOR EVERYONE.

Malcolm & Marie | A Genius Movie, Breaking Artistic Barriers and Rightfully, NOT FOR EVERYONE.

Herewith my thoughts on Malcolm & Marie, a movie I believe is phenomenal and exceptionally made. Yes, this is a positive review on this new Movie taking place in 1 house with 2 exceptional actors. Malcolm & Marie is definitely one of those movies you either LOVE or HATE. It's definitely not for everyone but however, it's definitely deserving an Oscar (in my opinion). Just like Euphoria, It's a perfect representation of our generation creatively and artistically. The cinematography in this movie exceptional beyond measure. If you aren't artistically inclined you will not appreciate the 1 takes, framing, teaching, and movement of the whole film. Actors, Zandeya and John are deserving of higher recognition for the performance in this movie. Through this podcast, I'll share why YOU SHOULD WATCH THIS MOVIE as well as why many will dislike it. This movie breaks so many artistic barriers that many artists in 2021 would not even dare to break. The storyline is relatable and true to our times and relationships as a whole. As a black artist, I'm extremely grateful to have watched 2 exceptional black artists perform in the worst global situation and do it exceptionally well. Malcolm and Marie is not for everyone, and that more than okay.

FujiPro400h Discontinuation Tribute & Thoughts on Canceling Fujifilm.

FujiPro400h Discontinuation Tribute & Thoughts on Canceling Fujifilm.

Herewith a new video sharing my thoughts on fuji pro400h discontinuation. This is a tribute video sharing some of the best photos I've taken with this film stock. Fuji pro400h as most of you know is one of my favorite film stocks ever created. It has the best characteristics for the work I do and for the skin tones I work with. Most times I'd pick and prefer Fuji Pro400h over Kodak Portra 400 because of the work I do. This has been sad news for the film photography community but I solely believe FujiFilm will bring back this godly film. On that note, I'll also be sharing my thoughts on what I've been hearing about canceling fuji pro400h.

Film Photography over Digital Photography?? My Thoughts 2 Years Later After Shooting Film Only.

Film Photography over Digital Photography?? My Thoughts 2 Years Later After Shooting Film Only.

Herewith a new podcast sharing my thoughts on digital photography after shooting film photographs for 2 years. I'm excited to share all my views on digital after primarily shooting film for 2 years. I believe that everyone feels the need to choose between one or the other when In reality they can both live together in harmony. As a new-age film photographer, I've gotten to fall in love with the results film photography has given me photographically. THere's no denying that film photography has a beautiful and distinct look but does that make film photography better than digital photography??  Digital photography also has its own major advantage over film photography such as, seeing your photos in real-time, and having endless photos to make on-demand but does that make digital photography better than film photography? In this podcast, I'll share my thoughts on this topic after using both mediums for over 2 years. Film photography over digital photography???? Enjoy!

Photographic Identity Crisis and How I Plan on Dealing With It.

Photographic Identity Crisis and How I Plan on Dealing With It.

In the last 6 months of my journey, I've been going through something very important to me, and I wasn't able to identify this problem until now. After diagnosing myself because I'm obviously a doctor lol, I've come to realize that I'm having an identity crisis as a photographer. I've been stuck in a mode of questioning what type of work I'd like to make because there are 2 different types of work I believe I could make. Over time I've come to realize and notice the difference between documentary photography and simple.. creating great artistic images that serve no purpose than to simply be visually appealing. As of late, I've been very inspired by various old photographers' work that do either one or the other. This identity crisis was something that's been lacking in my growth because it's truly going to shape who I am as a photographer. Over the last couple of years, trying different photographic mediums was the goal but now that I've found my mediums of choice, it's time to start creating but, what am I creating? In this podcast ill be sharing this experience and what I plan on doing to deal with this crisis now that it's been identified. I hope this podcast helps anybody that might be going through what I'm going through.

Leaving Instagram and All Social Media Until I Find "Shingie The Photographer".

Leaving Instagram and All Social Media Until I Find "Shingie The Photographer".

I quit Instagram and all social media until I find Shingie The Photographer. As you might have guessed, I'll be sharing why I'm deciding to quit social media. I'm excited, scared, and nervous to share my thoughts on why I'll be leaving my social platforms. All through the year 2020, I've been consciously and subconsciously preparing myself for this step in my journey. It's been a blessing and a curse being on all platforms and performing well on all of them. I'm incredibly grateful to have grown drastically on all these platforms over the years and I truly do see value in them but, for my journey, I need to step away in order to find myself. Creating content is extremely important to me but understand and knowing why I create the work I create is far more important to me. Through this big change, I'd like to know who Shingie "The photographer" truly is because I create fantastic images but they are "just good photos" unfortunately. I want to pick up my camera without feeling the need to pick up my camera. I truly believe, my work will never be timeless unless I make this step. Being a photographer first before a YouTuber is extremely important to me because I do not aspire to be a YouTuber all my life as much as I aspire to be a photographer all my life. I'll explain more in the podcast, enjoy and let's start this new journey together.  My Work: http://shotbyshingie.com  Clothing & Presets: http://waybetterco.com

Are You a TRUE ARTIST? Do You RESPECT your art? Do You CREATE With A PURPOSE?

Are You a TRUE ARTIST? Do You RESPECT your art? Do You CREATE With A PURPOSE?

Here to share one of the biggest things I've learned this past year of 2020. On this podcast, I'll be sharing the importance of having respect for your art. Having respect for your art form is one of the biggest things an artist can learn. It's truly something that could mold you into a legendary artist. I'll be sharing in-depth why you should take the time to learn your art form to gain absolute respect for your art form. Gaining respect for your art form triggers purpose. I'll be sharing various examples as to why it's important to respect your art form in order to create with a purpose. Given this is the last podcast, I wanted to end it on a truthful, and meaningful note sharing my truth and understanding. I hope you all find value in this message as I'm not the best at articulating my thoughts. Happy holidays and happy new year. Bye-bye 2020, as you were bad, you were also good.

"HEY ARTIST, TAKE A F***ING BREAK!!"

"HEY ARTIST, TAKE A F***ING BREAK!!"

In this podcast, I'll be sharing my current state of mind given it's Christmas time. As artists, we tend to be in our own world and can't seem to get out of it. I'll be sharing why you and I need to take a break as well as, WHY IT'S IMPORTANT to do so. There's no harm in working hard and feeling the need to execute all your phenomenal ideas but, a great artist is only great with love and healthy relationships in his or her life. I truly believe in this balance so I hope you and I can learn from our biggest downfall and be present with friends or family. TAKE A FUCKING BREAK! GO BE HUMAN AND NORMAL. GET SOME CREATIVE REST!
